First time to the Ocean Lodge. Definitely returning. While the amenities are excellent, it is the personal and sincere attention that each and every one of the wonderful people there provide that make your stay exceptional. Where else would you want to stay with your dog when they are treated like royalty and welcomed like family. Thank you to everyone at the Ocean Lodge for such a wonderful stay. We also met several wonderful people at the afternoon happy hour and hors d'oeuvres. Take care and thanks again, Steve, Lori, and Nova

My husband and I spent a night at Ocean Lodge in Cannon Beach, OR early in January. This place is top notch all the way.. It is a clean and beautifully appointed facility with friendly, helpful employees.. The ocean views and sunsets are amazing.|Wine is served at 4:00 and again at 7:00 (with chocolate this time). I want to thank the staff who went out of their way to return a personal item i left behind in our room. I would definitely stay here again!

Our recent stay at the ocean Lodge was perfect start to finish, from the time we walked in the front door it felt warm and comforting. The fireplace, comfy seats and treats made it feel so cozy. Front desk staff are actually at a desk rather than behind a tall counter. Our room was lovely, ocean view and doors right out to the grassy area for our pet. Each room has a little kitchenette area with microwave and fridge, plus kitchen sink and dishes/silverware. It’s not for cooking really but great for take out, making a sandwich or warming up a hot beverage. Breakfast was not the typical hotel offering, scrambled eggs, sausages, roasted potatoes, fresh fruit, pie and all sorts of goodies. The seating area is more like a cozy little dining room to enjoy a relaxing start to the day while reading the newspaper. In the afternoon wine and snacks are offered and as a good night treat a staff member stops your room if desired with a chocolate and sparkling cider. Fun for kids as it is served in a wine glass. Housekeeping staff were so friendly and accommodating as were front desk staff. This is our hotel choice for Cannon Beach. We will always stay at Ocean Lodge and highly recommend their accommodations.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 15th anniversary with a two-night stay at the Ocean Lodge in Cannon Beach, and it was nothing short of perfect! We chose Cottage 120 for its unique charm and privacy, and it did not disappoint. While it wasn't oceanfront, we could catch glimpses of the waves from a corner window. The location's proximity to the beach, combined with the privacy and thoughtful room amenities, made it an ideal choice for a romantic getaway. We arrived a bit earlier than expected, and to our delight, the staff graciously allowed us to check in ahead of time. We were greeted with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and saltwater taffy—a sweet and welcoming gesture that set the tone for our stay. The hotel staff were consistently warm and accommodating, offering assistance at any time of day. The breakfast exceeded our expectations for a "Continental Breakfast," with a variety of options that we could enjoy in the dining room or the comfort of our room. Each evening, we looked forward to the wine reception, where we indulged in delightful cheese, meat, and olive bites. As if that weren't enough, the Ocean Lodge treats guests to a nightcap of Port Wine accompanied by delicious chocolates delivered straight to your room. Unlike many hotels that charge extra for such luxuries, these were included as part of our stay, making us feel truly pampered. Overall, the Ocean Lodge offered an exceptional experience with its thoughtful touches and attentive service. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our milestone anniversary. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a charming and memorable retreat by the sea!

Loved this stay... and we've stayed everywhere pet friendly in Cannon Beach. Im thinking this is my new favorite. We loved the quaintness, location and warm lodge feeling of this place. The amenities were fantastic from the great breakfasts and daily snacks. If we can get a room here in the summer we would love it.

We’ve been here twice so far and every time, we forget how great it is and our minds are blown all over again! The level of service and care you receive is unrivaled. We’ve never seen an unhappy employee. Everyone goes above and beyond to make your visit as comfy and pleasant as possible. The rooms are clean and most have an amazing view. They even come around with a nightcap after dinner and have fresh cookies at the front desk. It is literally RIGHT on the beach and there are cozy fireplaces located throughout to warm up afterwards. Truly one of the coolest places to stay on the beach and we will absolutely be back :)

Google
The lodge is wonderful, from the warm, inviting lobby to the dining loft above the large stone fireplace... the entire hotel is decorated for the holidays. The guest rooms are very clean, well appointed and relaxing so you can enjoy the end of a busy day in comfort. The staff is terrific and will make sure your stay is as good as it can be, taking care of anything you may need.

Yelp
We LOVED our stay at The Ocean Lodge. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home and cared for. Someone immediately came out and helped us with our luggage, told us he needed to hurry up and get us on vacation because happy hour had already started! Hahaha The room was great. Loved the view and the fireplace the most. We loved the sound of the waves, putting us to sleep every night. The community felt so safe. We loved walking around. The little touches at The Ocean Lodge like the cookies, wine tasting, wine at night, truffles were all so nice. We loved on bonfire on the beach. Thank you for setting it up! A And we really felt at home when we were leaving and the front desk encouraged us to take snacks for the road. Such a nice little touch. Felt like something my mom would do.

Yelp
We had an amazing stay at The Ocean Lodge. The location is within walking distance to Haystack Rock and the hotel experience overall is first-rate. Customer service is 10/10, the rooms were clean and well-appointed. They serve breakfast which was included in the rate and there was also a nice wine reception at night. We appreciated that several amenities were complimentary and rolled into the room rate. It's nice to have a wonderful experience without being nickeled and dimed. We brought our dog too and they provided treats, balls, and frisbees. It was really cute. Other pros: Easy parking included in the room rate Bonfire supplies Our room was updated with a huge double shower Very friendly and accommodating staff The Ocean Lodge will be our go-to at Cannon Beach!

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. Loved the ambiance, tranquil lodge vibe, proximity to the beach, short drive to Ecola State park and quaint downtown restaurants and local coffee shops. We loved the fireplace and room. The bathroom was spacious but could use modernizing.

Yelp
We were gifted a two night stay at The Ocean Lodge and decided to go for our 33rd anniversary getaway. We absolutely loved our time there! We had the third floor north corner room 314, and it couldn't have been more cozy. Warm cookies at check-in, friendly, welcoming staff, free water and snacks in the lobby, special anniversary touches waiting in our room, nightly port wine and truffles brought to our door, amazing continental breakfast, beautiful views from our balcony and easy parking/check-in and out. The lodge was still decorated for Christmas and it reminded my husband and I of a Christmas Hallmark movie! We highly recommend!

Yelp
Magical first experience to the coast. The room was beautiful, as was the overall experience. Wine and treats and just a very welcoming staff. Looking forward to returning soon. 10/10

Yelp
This place is so special to me, I decided to write a review after all these years. The hotel staff do such a wonderful job of making everyone there feel special... from the immaculately clean rooms, to the little welcome bag of dog snacks if you bring along your pup, to the free breakfast and fun free wine tasting happy hour. You never feel "nickel and dimed" or that it wasn't worth it. This is a good reminder to me that just because a place charges more per night & rhymes with "Bethany Pin" does not mean you will feel welcomed. You sure do here! Even the non-view rooms are nice. I have been coming to Cannon Beach for over 40 years (as a little kid), and I visit CB from Seattle three times per year. I like to stay in different hotels occasionally. This one is always my favorite, in both winter and summer. Two thumbs and four paws up! (My dog likes to roll in the sand...but don't worry! They have a doggie washing station - of course they do.) PS it is great to be a little bit down the beach from the Haystack Rock craziness. You can walk there easily and also get to downtown along the beach by foot. You don't really need a car, but they have the cutest little classic 1950s car that you can book if needed. Again, free. Thank you, Ocean Lodge for making things so fabulous. :) See you soon!

Marina f.

Yelp
We used to stay here a couple times a year, but finally got fed up with the owner who constantly takes his classic car for joy rides, starting from his noisy arrival in the morning, to the umpteen times during the day he revs the engine before he leaves - repeating the same when he arrives back at his parking spot in front of the office. The car is super noisy - and unless your room is an inside room facing the ocean, you're going to hear it constantly..... pretty rude IMO. Housekeeping and maintenance staff are constantly yelling back/forth at each other starting about 0700 hrs, pushing/pulling loud carts, stomping around the landings of the loft units while they go about their work for the day. Although our intent is to be out of our room by 9 or 10 , sometimes we also like to read on our balcony in the sun or sleep in a little late - since we're on vacation. Maintenance for the units and property doesn't seem to be what it used to be; little things are not being repaired or replaced like they used to be. This is the nosiest hotel we've ever stayed at, although it never used to be that way years ago.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! We went for my birthday for the first time. (They even had a balloon, salt water taffy, and a thoughtful card on the bed waiting for me). I usually don't break things down but there is A LOT to mention about this awesome place. Location: Can't get any better. Right on the beach. Walk out your door and it is right there. Room: We stayed in premier room (107) and it was incredible. Spacious room with little kitchenette (bowls, plates, silverware, glasses, corkscrew, microwave, etc). Separate seating area with fold out couch and folding table to eat at. That came in helpful for when we got pizza and ate in the room. King bed (firm) with many pillows to choose from. Fireplace. Bathroom with deep jetted tub, amazing shower with multiple different heads/jets, HEATED floor. Outdoor patio with Adirondack chairs with spectacular breathtaking view. Breakfast: Continental with rotation heated main item (cheese omelette one day and scrambled eggs/sausage another). Pastries, yogurts, juices, fruit, cereals - all you really need. Amenities: Wine reception from 4-6 each night was wonderful. Red and white options with soda and water as well. Nightcap from 7-9 is AWESOME!!!! They come to your room with port wine or sparkling cider to choose from and chocolate truffles!!!! One night we were going to be out during nightcap and I asked Elizabeth if she would leave it in the room for us and she did!! Fresh cookies everyday 24/7 at front desk, complimentary snacks in lobby (candy bars, chips, jerky, water - things usually other places charge you for), '57 BelAir car to drive you into town if needed, and housekeeping (if requested). SUPER dog friendly. Staff: Angel checked us in and was so nice and helpful with dining suggestions. Elizabeth was the wine reception/nightcap hostess who truly needs to be acknowledged by their management. Her kindness, smile, and friendliness truly made our trip memorable. Beth at check out was just as wonderful (and even gave us cookies for the road!) I have to admit that I am a picky person and do a lot of research on places to stay and eat (sometimes too much). Ocean Lodge is one of the best places I have ever stayed at. I just cannot say enough. We certainly will be returning!!!!

Yelp
This review has been a long time coming -- and is *so* well deserved. Not only did this hotel provide some of the best customer service I have ever experienced, but they did so even after I made a complete moron out of myself! I will be forever grateful for how they handled the entire situation. Please let me explain. My son and I (and our two small dogs) come to Cannon Beach from Seattle every Christmas, a tradition. Last year was the first year that we stayed at the Ocean Lodge -- it was beautiful, cozy, and perfect for the holidays. I had booked far in advance, wanting to ensure that we got a room facing Haystack Rock. Our room was gorgeous with a perfect view! We had the best week ever. And then, the end of the week came. I thought we had another day left. I mean I was COMPLETELY CONVINCED that we did. So imagine my surprise when the cleaning staff shows up at noon, asking us to please vacate the room. I was *furious*! I went into Karen Mode and stomped off to management, who explained that unfortunately, "someone else has the room starting today, but we're happy to move you right down the hall for tonight!" "What??!" I said, fully Karening now. "This is unacceptable! Please pull up the bill -- I will show you that we already paid through Christmas Eve! You shouldn't be asking us to switch rooms!" I was *100% sure* I was right. But I was actually *100% wrong*: the manager politely showed me that I had only reserved through the 23rd. OOPS. After I apologized profusely, the hotel was not only understanding, but they were gracious enough to offer us another room for the extra night -- FREE of charge! And a comped dinner for our troubles! Even when I was the one who was totally in the wrong. It was starting to snow, and they said there was no way they were letting us leave. It was so kind of them. Well, this year I booked early *and* I booked through the 24th. :) We cannot wait to get back to the wonderful hotel, the views, the ocean storms, the nightly port delivered to the door -- and of course, the lovely management. Thank you guys, you are truly the best!! I highly recommend this hotel and their wonderful staff who absolutely made our Christmas eve -- even when they didn't have to.

Yelp
I have enjoyed everything about my stay here. The entire staff is warm and friendly but a special shout out to Keith!!!

Yelp
The room was so clean. Love the heated bathroom floor. Very accommodating staff. Will definitely make the Ocean Lodge our vacation destination in the future.

Yelp
I don't like to get away for long periods too often. Plus when we had 5, it just made it harder. But for my 38th and our anniversary, we decided on a mini get away down to Cannon Beach and a stay at the Ocean Lodge. Let me tell you what. This place is legit and let me list the reasons why: 1. SERVICE We were hopeful for an early check in, so I called a few days prior to ask how they handle it. The lady that I talked to (I think her name was Maria, but I don't remember, I'm real bad with names) was SUPER friendly and even asked me in passing if there was any special occasions we were celebrating. She was super helpful and promised me that I'd get a call back on Friday with the status either way (if we could check in early or not). 2. SERVICE AGAIN PLUS FOLLOW THROUGH Let's be honest. The little things are what matter most, and sadly the little things are what get most overlooked. Friday as we were starting to make our way down, I was speculative that I'd get said promised call. Often people say they will do something and they don't do it. Not here, early Friday afternoon (3-17), I got a call from the Ocean Lodge as promised to confirm that my room was ready and I could check in whenever I wanted. It's the little things. :) 3. FRIENDLY SERVICE I work in hospitality myself. I've learned over the years that there's being helpful cause "it's your job" and being helpful cause you truly want to. The front desk person that helped us out when we checked in about 3:30 PM really gave the impression that she truly wanted to help us and make us feel welcomed. She was nice, she was friendly and we really could tell she knew her stuff as she explained the perks of the hotel; with the nightly wine reception and the night cap. She even pushed the button for the sometimes slow elevator so it would be there for us when we came back in with our luggage. Plus cookies. Who doesn't love bottomless cookies! 4. THE ACCOMMODATIONS We had an ocean view and it was incredible. The room was amazing, the bed was comfortable, the bathtub was nice. We loved it all! Plus the staff left us cards and treats for the anniversary and birthday which was a nice touch. (and a delicious one too!) 5. BREAKFAST For not having a kitchen, the breakfast options were solid. Biscuits and sausage gravy with sausage links one day plus little cheesy omelets the next day (also with sausage) plus other continental fare. Good stuff! If I had to pick two things, and it'd be quibbling to do so, for improvement, they'd be as follows 1. Faster Wi-Fi We could tell the Wi-Fi was a touch on the slower side, but honestly it didn't hinder us from enjoying our streaming shows. Buffered a few times, but not a deal breaker by any means. 2. Jacuzzi tub PLUS the ocean view. I know this would require some pretty extensive renovation, but if this place could have a block of like "ultra premium" or some other name room that had the jacuzzi tub PLUS the ocean view, that'd be incredible. To clarify I mean having the tub out in the room area where you could be in the tub, but still see the ocean. What we had was still amazing though and we'll definitely be back!

Tony M.

Yelp
The online reservation was accepted without informing us that we would have to change rooms mid-stay. We stayed 6 nights and brought our parents along to stay in another room for 5 nights. At the end of our stay, they couldn't even accommodate a 1/2 hour late check out. I felt extending this courtesy would have been a nice gesture given the time our party spent at the hotel and the inconvenient room change that was initially hidden from us. The hotel staff is wonderful, just don't expect anything from management. The hotel need not prepare a canned response to this review like: "Thank you for sharing your feedback.  We are so sorry for your disappointing stay. Our team is usually very sensitive to reported issues, and resourceful in finding swift resolutions; and we are so sorry that was not your experience with us.  Your comments will assist in our growth and improved service, and we truly hope we'll have an opportunity to provide a more relaxing getaway on your next visit. Thank you." If you truly cared about your guests, you would address situations like these when they are brought it to your attention, multiple times, at the hotel.

Anne P.

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely fantastic! We love that it is SO dog friendly and the rooms are amazing! The staff is exceptional and amenities are perfect. Best in my book and we travel the world.

Mark C.

Yelp
My wife and I have stayed here so many times over the years and we absolutely love it. It is by far the best lodging in Cannon Beach. The Ocean Lodge is super calm and peaceful and the staff are always friendly. We cannot say in words how amazing it is here. The place is right on the ocean just south of haystack rock and it is is situated on the most peaceful section of Cannon Beach. There is a lot less foot traffic here compared to other sections of Cannon Beach. We've been coming since they opened 20 years ago and this is our preferred destination on every visit.

Yelp
Lovely hotel on the Oregon coast. Highly recommend, especially nice in July and August

Yelp
I stayed here in April for a few days with a friend and two very excited doggos! I just LOVE this wonderful property!! The ground level, ocean view, king room was well appointed with comfortable seating options, a large flat screen, DVD player with a comprehensive lending library, a lovely gas fireplace, and pleasant, albeit somewhat typical beach hotel decor. The linens and towels are high quality, crisp, cool sheets with a high weave count, and large, soft, fluffy towels! There was no bleach smell or unnatural fabric softener scent, just clean and lovely towels and bedding! The mattress was like a cloud! I have a very high end mattress at home and this bed felt just as good. I also appreciated pillows of variable firmness on the bed. The check-in process was fast, friendly, informative, and so welcoming. Hot, fresh coffee, cookies (varieties rotate daily) and dog treats are always available in the lobby and every night wine is generously poured at happy hour. In the room there was a welcome basket with treats, toys, poo bags, food dishes, and blankets for both dogs! The inclusive breakfast offerings were tasty, varied, and more than sufficient to provide multiple hot and cold options daily. Not ideal for a vegan but other dietary restrictions (gluten free, vegetarian, diabetic) are adequately accommodated. I really appreciated the large, sturdy trays available to allow guests the option to dine in-room with minimal difficulty. The location is absolutely stunning! My ground level room had a sliding glass door opening to a patio (with 2 Adirondack deck chairs) situated on a grassy bluff poised a few feet above sea level. The sand mere steps from the patio. Haystack Rock rising out of the Pacific to the north affords guests of The Ocean Lodge that quintessential Cannon beach view that brought you here. This hotel is the very definition of ideal location! Considering the high cost of the mediocre options in Seaside it's no wonder why this hotel is booked weeks in advance. Do yourself a favor, plan ahead and stay here!! One evening we left the dogs for an hour to have dinner in town. Shortly after placing out order I received a call from the hotel because the dogs were incessantly barking disturbing another guest. The call from the hotel, potentially upsetting on multiple levels, was handled politely, discretely, and with obvious genuine concern for the dogs. There wasn't even a hint of condemnation, annoyance, or judgement from the hotel. At check out, generously extended to 2:00 PM, I found I ran my battery down by accidentally leaving the headlights on overnight. I barely finished telling the front desk what happened when a maintenance worker seemingly materialized out of thin air with a solution. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. AAA quoted 2 hours! This property offers an elevated service at a reasonable price point. The Ocean Lodge is an outstanding choice when visiting Cannon Beach! I won't consider staying anywhere else!

Madi S.

Yelp
Love this place! Came for a one night stay and had an awesome time. Super friendly service and our room was ready 3 and a half hours early than normal check in time. Walked up and down the beach in the sunny afternoon and even from the beach you can tell The Ocean Lodge is the cutest of all the lodges. We had a great room on the second (& top) floor with a balcony and wonderful ocean view. The hotel has a separated bedroom and a kitchen and fireplace. I slept on the pull out couch which was surprisingly very comfortable (since most are awful). You could easily fit a family of four in one of their lodges! 10/10 loved this place and will definitely be back.

K M.

Yelp
My wife and I (and our dog) had a perfect stay at The Ocean Lodge. Everything from communicating with the lodge before our stay, to check in and all the amenities couldn't have been nicer. We had a spacious King Oceanfront room where we could walk our dog directly onto a grass lawn and from there, easy access down some steps to the beach. They provide a towel, sheet, bowl and treats for the dog. The room had a good amount of counter space, a kitchen sink, utensils, plates/bowls/cups and wine glasses, a microwave and a mini fridge. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of space for the kitchenette. They also have a wine hour, a "turn down" service of sorts where they bring port, cider and chocolates to your room at 7pm and you can help yourself to various snacks such as cookies and popcorn. Breakfast is also included - it's very basic - cereal, coffee/tea, fruit, muffins and instant oatmeal. We felt very safe in terms of Covid protocols - everyone wore masks and hand sanitizer was in various places throughout the hotel.

Dana T.

Yelp
We had a great stay here with our pup last weekend. Awesome hospitality from start to finish - nightly wine "reception," (e.g. free vino) daily hot breakfast, huge selection of Smith teas, and "turn-down" service including dessert wine, cider, and chocolates. All of this was executed perfectly, during COVID no less. The hotel itself is steps from the beach and in a nice quiet part of town. Loved long beach walks and grabbing take-out from town (shout-out to Public Coast for their gluten-free fish and chips!), followed by relaxing in the room's king bed + fireplace. Pup had an equally nice time :). Will definitely be back for our next coastal getaway!

Matt Y.

Yelp
Nice rooms and location. Clean and welcoming staff. Great attention to details during covid. The "included" breakfast was very underwhelming considering the price per room. While it's very understandable to have a paired down menu and services offered during these times or covid, it felt very lacking in this part of our stay. Also one of the very few higher end hotels to allow dogs, so this is another great feature we enjoy.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Amazing experience ! Stayed here for one night during our trip. The staff here are super nice. Room is clean. Nice big bathtub that is very relaxing. Location right next to the beach and the haystack rock. One of the best hotel/bb that I've ever stayed at. Breakfast is top notch. Highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Inga S.

Yelp
Belated Review- Exceptional hotel, not a detail missed in terms of capturing a refined cozy perfectly appointed environment for relaxing along the coast. Hotel and rooms exceptionally comfortable, warm thoughtful and creative personal touches throughout, lovely textures/colors/beautiful textiles, lighting and architectural details were all first class. Location and properties attention to detail is excellent. Fresh baked cookies available 24/7. Lovely hot breakfast w ample selections in the charming dining area. Sidenote: I'm giving the benefit of the doubt here with 5 stars based on the impeccable property, and an eventual amazing room. This may have been an isolated incident but the check in and front desk staff interaction was disappointing given circumstances. Original room booked based on a room specific photo on trip advisor. Informed upon arrival room wasn't available due to flooding...disappointing start! The anticipated relaxing get away started w the frustration of viewing two non-comparable room options offered, the inconvenience and wasted time hiking multiple flights of stairs each time hauling luggage for both rooms then back to the lobby again where there was more resistance and indifference to accommodate appropriately than I would expect or hope for from a professional hospitality staff. This was a special get away, it took Tenacity and precious vacation time (45mins- hour and half total) to get what I would have hoped could've been offered after the initial room mistake, and negligence to address or inform of the issue/options ahead of time. To reiterate, I loved the room, the property, and amenities, however I hope that my experience with the front desk staff was an isolated incident.

Paul R.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was very comfortable and the staff was great. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. We had an ocean front room with a fireplace. Very comfortable bed. The room had all the details covered. They offer a great daily breakfast and wine tasting happy hour. They are a bit out of town but we really liked that! It's very quiet in south Cannon Beach. When you want to go to town they offer free transportation in a beautiful '57 Chevy. So cool. We will definitely be back.

Anthony M.

Yelp
Just checked into hotel. Chilly day but couldn't be happier. Friendly welcome at front desk...welcome glass of wine and great views. Room was located where we expected....no disappointments. Very clean room... great in room amenities. They thought of everything...even cosy blanket to sit outdoors. Will not disappoint.

Yelp
What a charming, relaxing and unique treasure in Cannon beach. We were here for a short night and could have stayed forever. First impressions was charming from the moment you pull up. The high vaulted ceilings, wooden beams, roaring fireplace, unique local art, relaxation area, large library, adorable dining room with an amazing light fixture, and the list goes on. The staff are so welcoming and helpful and had great recommendations on the must dos in town. The lodge itself screams charming, the rooms exude luxury, and the views along with the fireplaces throughout the room and the lodge scream come in and relax. Thoughtful amenities and touches throughout the lodge seem so effortless and could be found throughout every turn of our stay it really added a ton of value. Our room was best in class and by far the best part of our stay. I cannot say enough about how luxury, charming and relaxing it was. We walked in and immediately felt the space, the lighting, and the view welcoming us in and telling us to unwind. The bathroom was like nothing I've seen before with two shower heads and jets everywhere it was bananas, hands down the best shower we've ever had. Dual vanity and mirrors everywhere. The combination of the fireplace and the sound of the waves in the background gave us the best nights sleep and the view is truly a sight to see with haystack rock right out side our balcony. Needless to say we spent a lot of the afternoon on the beach or on the balcony looking at the beach. This will hands down be our place to stay in Cannon Beach, cannot wait to return.

Yelp
The Ocean Lodge is one of my favorite places in America. It is a dreamy hotel that has so many little touches that make it special. We love its location and that it is right on the beach - even the partial view rooms have that oceanfront feel. The rooms themselves are cozy, with many having fireplaces. The one we stayed at most recently had a luxuriously redesigned bathroom. Probably our favorite part of the hotel is the lobby and all the little amenities and touches, such as the lobby coffee, cookies and Smith tea, the delicious breakfast spread, multiple happy hours, and the various seating areas and nooks one can relax in during their stay. In many ways it feels more like a home than a hotel. Very dog friendly if that's your thing, but if it's not, they have all the dog rooms in one wing so you can avoid. It can be very expensive to stay here, but we have felt we got our money's worth every time.

Yelp
5 stars isn't enough. This place is literally heaven on Earth. The property is beautiful, rooms are perfect, and the view/beach is one of my favorites on the whole coast. I have never met kinder humans than the staff who work here. Excellent breakfast; free nightly wine (!); and for pet owners, "dog friendly" is an understatement- they really go above and beyond to accommodate pets and this was really helpful for us. THANK YOU to the wonderful staff at The Ocean Lodge and we can't wait to return!!

Yelp
There's nothing bad I could say about The Ocean Lodge. This has been our home base for our yearly Cannon Beach vacation for the past couple years and we have seriously never been disappointed. This year I brought both my pups along and I swear, this is THE PLACE for you to stay if you want to bring your furbabies with you on vacation. Not only is the staff stellar to the human guests, it's the same treatment for their four legged guests. While humans have cookies and coffee in the lobby 24/7, pups have treats in the lobby 24/7. They have balls to borrow to throw around on the beach for your pup and they have a little welcome basket for the pup that is a bag of treats, water bowl, extra towel and sheet. Oh! And they put your dog's name on a board at the entrance along with all the other pups staying at the hotel! They also have fun add-ons for your room - my personal favorite is the S'Mores addition that way you don't have to go into town to get s'mores ingredients and includes taffy, a frisbee, kite, and a voucher to Bruce's. It's just such a wholesome place, I'll be staying here for years to come!

Yelp
Our favorite place to stay in Cannon Beach. Everyone is so friendly and the rooms are beautiful with amazing views. We love they have pet friendly rooms, complimentary wine each evening and breakfast in the morning.

Yelp
Excellent place to stay. We enjoyed both ground level and balcony rooms and loved each. The convenient access from the ground level was nice, and you get a close show of the bunnies playing from your covered deck; which also had great seating. The views were breathtaking. Having visited Cannon Beach for years, I've never stayed south of Haystack Rock but found it to be a bit more of the pace we were looking for. If you find yourself looking for a place to stay in the area, The Ocean Lodge is a sure win!

Yelp
We overall enjoyed our stay here! There are plenty of things to do nearby! We will definitely come here again. The front staff are very accommodating and friendly at all hours. The rooms are overall clean and welcoming. However a lot of their furnishings are outdated which we did not like. There are no digital advancements and the TV is of a lower quality. Breakfast is just OK nothing really special there except some of their pastries. They have free coffee and water and cookies set out all day long which is a nice perk The location is out of this world and walking distance to sites.

Yelp
We unfortunately didn't have the best experience at The Ocean Lodge. Upon checking in, we found that the lock on our door was broken. This would normally be acceptable, but we have a two year old who likes to escape at any opportunity he's given. We called down to the front desk to see if their handyman could come take a look at it and hopefully fix it. He did come to the room quickly, which was nice! He wasn't able to fix the lock until the next day. So he brought back a curtain rod and suggested we shove it in front of the door to try and deter the toddler. Spoiler alert..it didn't deter the toddler. We called back down the front and asked to be moved to a room with a working lock. They moved us, which was great. The next day around 1pm they called our room and told us we'd need to move, AGAIN. As the room they moved us into was sold out for that night. We have four young children and ALOT of stuff. This completely turned us off and we decided to switch hotels for the remainder of our stay. At $400 per night..you don't want to be spending 2 of your 3 days on vacation, dealing with handymen and moving your luggage around. The beds were also TERRIBLE. I'm a healthy, in shape 30 year old woman, and I couldn't walk the next day after waking up. It was bad :(

Yelp
Extremely pet friendly and welcoming to the furry and human guests. Very nice rooms and all the dog guests are announced on a board when you walk in:)

Yelp
Loved this place! No complaints! The view was amazing. The semi-private covered deck was wonderful (the front desk gave me a few towels to wipe the wet chairs and gave me a blanket to use out there). We had a gas fireplace in the room. The bed was a very comfortable king bed. The bathroom had heated floors and a double person shower with four places for the water to come out! We were offered a wine reception the day of arrival and the wine was very good. The complimentary continental breakfast was very well done with Covid in mind. All the items were wrapped in cellophane and the fruit was in a cup with a lid. Overall, I can think of nothing that wasn't wonderful. Paid $339 plus tax.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Beautiful views of the ocean and haystack rock. We stayed in the king , pet friendly suite. They had a basket for our pup upon entry! The staff here goes above and beyond for the guests. The breakfast was DELICIOUS! So many options. It was my birthday and the lady at the front desk over heard. When I opened my door to go out there was a balloon and a present ! I will continue to always stay here when we visit. What a wonderful place !!!! 10 STARS!

Yelp
This was our first trip to Cannon Beach, we really loved The Ocean Lodge. We stayed in the first floor and had a picture view of the haystack rock. We slept every night with our sliding door open to the crashing waves and felt extremely safe, which does not always happen everywhere. We took advantage of their off-season promo, stay 3 nights sun-thurs, 30% off thru May, this was not offered when booking, I had to call back and ask that it be applied after noticing it on the web-site. The free breakfasts that are included are fine, nothing super great, they do offer comp wine on check in day, comp fitness access at a local gym, one comp yoga class per room at a yoga studio, those are pretty nice. We will stay here again in future trips to cannon

Yelp
We've stayed at the Ocean Lodge various times. They are dog friendly, have comfortable rooms/common areas and friendly staff. Our last stay we booked online and accidentally didn't get a dog friendly room. We called the hotel and spoke to David who took the extra time to move a couple of things around and found someone to swap rooms with us so we could still stay at the hotel. We usually choose Ocean Lodge over Stephanie Inn because they are similar in service and style (just a little more rustic but still very comfortable) and dog friendly which is very important to us. It's become a home away from home for us when we visit Cannon Beach.

Yelp
Top notch customer service, clean rooms, amazing view of Haystack, campfires on the beach & walking distance to town.

Yelp
Highly recommend it. We stayed in two rooms in the bungalows. The staff was wonderful - from the front desk to the upstairs lounge. Patrick was especially great - he made sure to always ask if we needed something. He periodically asked if we needed a ride into town, including with our three dogs. He offered info/recommendations on places to eat in town. We were there over father's day weekend. They had a nice touch of leaving an assortment of chocolates in the father's room, and left a nice gift for our daughter's birthday. Access from the hotel to the beach was so easy. Beach chairs are available for guests to use. Very dog friendly, as many guests in the bungalows had dogs. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, especially since dogs must frequently stay in the rooms. Morning breakfast is advertised as "continental". But they always had hot food, including eggs, omelettes, biscuits-gravy - tasty. We enjoyed the fact that they are not in town - no crowds, easy parking, friendly residents living around the hotel, and a very short ride to town. We will certainly be back.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! Everything about our stay was perfect: the ambience of the hotel, the oceanfront room and deck with chairs, the friendly and helpful staff and service, and the little touches such as the dog welcome basket and nightly turndown service. The beach was literally steps from our room! We enjoyed long walks on the beach with the dogs in the mornings and watched the stunning sunsets from our deck in the evenings. The room: immaculate and well-equipped, spacious bathroom with rain shower, lots of towels provided, comfy bed, big flatscreen TV, oscillating tower fan provided (no A/C but it wasn't missed at all). Continental breakfast is included; we took our breakfast back to our room on trays each morning to eat since you cannot leave dogs alone in the room for any amount of time. There are cookies and hot coffee available in the lobby 24/7. The hotel doesn't have room service or a restaurant, which I knew ahead of time, but fortunately there are a ton of restaurants in town -- a 5 minute drive. All the guests we interacted with were friendly and polite, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. Not many families or young children so it was peaceful and quiet. Both our dogs were sad to leave Cannon Beach. (So were the humans!). We will definitely be back to The Ocean Lodge next year!

Yelp
I love this place! I'm always impressed with their customer service and how welcoming they are. The room is clean and right on the ocean.

Yelp
The Ocean Lodge is amazing. Not sure what else they could do better other than I wish they had a dine in restaurant on site. Really you cannot go wrong here as it is inviting, cozy, friendly and makes you want to come back.

Yelp
This place was nice. We stayed there over the weekend and did very much enjoy our stay. However there were a few things that I think would need to be improved. I think if we were to go back to Cannon Beach, we might try a different hotel due to these shortcomings that we noticed. The 1st is that the wifi was inconsistent. It was a pain to use in the room, kept signing us off and would not work on our balcony. The 2nd is that there is not much variety for breakfast. We had breakfast 3 mornings and it was basically the same thing every morning with not many options. I feel like we get better breakfast at a Holiday Inn than we did at Ocean Lodge. The 3rd is the that they need new blinds. They don't have a black out option so if you're used to that, don't expect it here. They were also noisy to operate so if you are trying to sneak out or in from the balcony while someone is sleeping, you might wake them up. We also were up much earlier each morning due to the light coming in our room. That being said, the staff was friendly and pleasant. We enjoyed the movie collection and cookies in the lobby as well as the happy hour wine. it was a nice hotel with nice beach access and views from the balcony. Like I said, we enjoyed our stay but aren't dying to go back.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! The most wonderful customer service that I've experienced in such a long time! Beautiful rooms and very dog friendly! They love your pet! Includes treats, for you and your pet as well as a welcome basket for your pet. I would give more stars if I could

Yelp
I can't say enough about this hotel. From the staff, to the welcoming pet policy, to the location... this was one of the best beach getaways we've had in a long time. Stunning beach, cozy lobby, and the entire staff was so sweet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Yelp
Treating your current guests well is an expectation of any lodge... however treating your prospective guests as if they are your current ones with no expectation is just awesome. On a busy beach weekend, we happen to park on the street next to this lodge. While the close access to beach was awesome, there are no public facilities nearby. With Canon beach was typically cold, our group of 6 needed to use restrooms multiple times... while we openly admitted that we were not guests and would like to use bathrooms, they showed us where the restrooms every single time with a smile. When we approached them for nearby coffee store and a convenience store (to purchase lighter fluid), they pleasantly offered their brewed coffee and let us lend their lighter fluid at no cost... we could only return the favor (for now) by buying from their souvenir store.... but certainly would come back to their place when we decide to stay overnight by the beach. The place (certainly the restroom, lobby) is really well maintained and everything seemed upscale.

Yelp
Hotel was amazing! Right on the beach with huge rooms and amazing complimentary items such as dessert, snacks and wine on your first night! Would give 5 stars but some of the staff were not friendly and didn't not give off a welcoming vibe. Would definitely stay here again for the location. I'm sure it's even better in summer!

Brianna L.

Yelp
This lodge was an awesome find! It is literally on the beach with amazing views of Haystack. The rooms are beautiful, modern, and impeccably clean. Staff members are warm and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay! I can't wait to visit again in the future!
