"Built behind the sand dunes that separate a beautiful park from the Atlantic Ocean, the 142-room Oitavos looks set to reboot the Lisboan Riviera. You’ll need to be a fan of contemporary design to be happy in this trident-shaped building a quarter mile inland, as its plate-glass walls are more Bauhaus than cozy. Still, the rooms are spacious and light, with sky-blue vinyl floors, white walls, and large balconies offering sea or golf course views. A wall-hung television faces a plump stone-gray canvas sofa in the standard double, and a perky modern oil painting and a navy-blue cotton throw on the large bed give the room some personality. A long white laminate desk separates the bedroom from the bathroom, where you’ll find a blocky sky-blue tub and a stall shower. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds, The Oitavos also has an outdoor saltwater pool in season."

I had an incredible experience staying at the Oitavos hotel! It was my first visit, and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The breakfast was outstanding, with a fantastic variety of high-quality options. The pool was lovely, and the spa facilities were exceptional, featuring a beautiful sauna where you could watch the sunset in the evenings. The gym was also well-equipped for a hotel gym. However, the standout aspect of my stay was definitely the staff. Ricardo and Luis took care of us on several evenings and ensured our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. They truly are a credit to the hotel and the main reason I’m giving this place a well-deserved 5-star rating!

Lovely location just outside of Cascais! We went here for our honeymoon and it was lovely. I suggest getting a room where you can watch the sunrise, it’s so peaceful. Very clean rooms and outside. Pool was very nice and relaxing. Best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had!!

Pretty sparse rooms! Cold floors and see through glass into the toilets and showers!! Other than that the hotel property is expansive and massive. Recently bought by a Brazilian Fund, let's see what changes they make. They can start by adding some warmth to the rooms.

Pros: - Massive rooms - Nice front desk and breakfast staff Cons: - This is the kind of hotel that looks great in photos but when you get there you notice that it looks like it hasn't been maintained in a decade. Peeling paint, everything rusting and dirty, stains all over, etc. It feels like a convention center, and has as many rules (not allowed to bring anything from breakfast to the room, not allowed to bring outside food in, etc). - At breakfast, there's about 200 other guests. It's really like being at a conference center, with massive groups. - The gym is a decent size but nobody maintained it and all the towels were dirty (despite asking twice for fresh ones). The spa was also very dirty looking. - Room was not very clean. We had to do our own cleaning to not feel gross. - The main issue we had though was that we could hear every step when the people above walked, waking us up. The top floor, however, has the loud noise of all the air conditioners....

We were actually wondering why there were so few reviews in 2024 on Tripadvisor so we checked Google. Majority of reviews there were good. Little did we know… ||The hotel is so much out dated. Some reviewed it as uber modern, we feel it is just old. Vinyl flooring everywhere - the lobby, the rooms, the gym (which is a run down and the two modern techno gym pilates things or whatever it is don’t help). No clue why others call vinyl modern. Also the color blue which is omnipresent everywhere doesn’t add a touch of modernity but rather a memory of the 80ies and it was built in 2009… ||Rooms are huge indeed but again vinyl and this run down blue color. Hallways are wide and dark with this one window at the end of it. Some might say this is a design element we just felt darkness, see pictures. ||Majority of guests is 50+ male, playing golf. So it seems like a good spot for golfing. If you wann stay there to relax, go and look for another hotel. ||Highlight and the only good thing, for us, was breakfast: extremely broad selection of different breads, fruits, cheese, eggs to order, and, and, and. ||So, the hotel is not a disaster at all even though my review might sound like it. However, it is an old hotel and didn’t undergo any refurbishment lately - a fact no one can deny. They try hard but it is far away from what a modern hotel is called these days, which is sad as it has potential. Just changing room flooring to wood would bring so much more comfort to the rooms but maybe this vinyl and blue is their concept and USP… ||If you’re into new and modern hotels with wood flooring and charm, do not stay here. Also if you’re not a golfer.

Unfortunately the experience was horrible. They don’t have enough space for breakfast, neither for dinner even having a tremendous space in the main floor of the hotel but the worst thing was in the pool. They don’t have enough sunbeds and umbrella for the clients and it’s crowded. We asked for the director or associate director and they don’t want to speak with us and give us a proper explanation. Always enjoy myself whenever I’m here. Staff is excellent and professional. The golf course is Amazing with stunning views of the Atlantic. This is a place where you get away from the crowds and relax .

The rooms are spacious and pretty, but the bathroom/toilet situation is weird if you are not alone in the room. The staff is friendly and polite. The hotel is a bit outside of the city so you always need a car to get around. The balconies are also very big and with a nice view. The breakfast is great so if you are staying in the hotel, deffinitely get the room with breakfast.
