Chill yet elegant lounge in a stunning hotel. Drinks are superb, and small bites are excellent.

Originally we planned to use our free hotel drinks coupons, but upon checking the cocktail list went for two cocktails instead. We had: 1) Bitter aperitif cocktail with grapefruit shrub 2) Mojito with salty starfruit Both were excellent! What a nice surprise! Will surely be back sometime.

Notwithstanding the good quality and ambience, I can't give 5 stars since 600 min charge after 6pm is a tad high. Wanted to have a quick drink before a dinner, and wanted to try this place, but had to rush to have 2 drinks. Not enjoyable, 300 min charge is enough.

This is a high end bar in a Japanese themed hotel. Prices of drinks reflect this but the service, atmosphere is first class. Note that if you visit afternoon staff do approach you early evening to warn you if evening price increases I.e it costs if you want to drink or dine in the evening Note I didn't have food.

the Bakery on the first floor provides some kind of choice tast good,and the special ones,such as scones,whole wheat toast,and the Lemon Pound Cake, Don't miss it.

Two friends and I met at this place several days ago. We loved the quality of tea or coffee, enjoyed the spacious space, and appreciated the excellent services.

The Okura Prestige Taipei / Zhongshan (Taipei) -- The moment I saw 'Okura' in the name I knew this would be a plush destination for our five nights in Taipei as I was familiar with their luxury hotel in Tokyo. I was right as Jamie W and I were more than pleased with this top-notch five-star hotel conveniently located in the popular Zhongshan district. We were a quick stroll from the busy Zhongshan metro station which pretty much connected us to the rest of the city. We reserved a room with a King Bed for NT$7,159.87 per night (or US$218.50). Given the expansive size and amenities of the room, it was quite a deal. We really liked the way they separated the bath and dressing room from the Japanese smart toilet. The sliding partition walls were a nice touch because they helped maximize the space of the room. We could see Taipei 101 from our window as well as a lot of the southern half of the city. Even though we liberally used the free WiFi, we were too busy being first-time Taipei tourists to take advantage of their other amenities like the spa, the fitness center, the rooftop pool (hey, it was raining), and their in-house Japanese and Chinese restaurants, both on the high end. The neighborhood was frankly too rife with tasty eats that we didn't consider dining here. Next time. Regardless this will be our hotel of choice for our inevitable follow-up Taiwan adventure. Excellent place to stay while in Taipei. Wished we could have stayed there longer. Only for a night. Within walking distance to many local eateries and shops. The Ningxia Night Market is about a mile away just wet if the hotel. I took a few photos of the facilities and food.

only review the "Pineapple cakes" it was really really yummy great, yes, I 100% recommended it.

The Okura Prestige Taipei is one of the top hotels I've had the pleasure of staying at. The spacious rooms are equipped with comfortable beds and pillows, a soothing rainfall shower head, a bathtub with a TV, Japanese bidets, and a work desk. Hotel amenities include a beautiful rooftop swimming pool and a health spa. The health spa, separated by female/male, is furnished with a comfortable lounge area with day beds, hot and cool baths, showers, wet and dry saunas, and dressing rooms. With gorgeous views of Taipei city, you'd forget you're in the busy populous city while relaxing at the spa. Staff was excellent, professional, and courteous too. I highly recommend Okura Prestige Taipei, however for short stays in Taipei, Okura may be a little excessive if you intend to explore the city for a majority of the time rather than stay inside a hotel.

Solid, newer 5 star Japanese hotel. One of the nicer newer joints in TP. I just wish it was a little closer to Xinyi, where most of the Western expat community stays. I loved the roof top pool, and the large glass showering the room. The bed, bedding and pillows were perfect. The bar downstairs was nice and classy. The concierge looked a little formal, stuffy, and shall I say staunch for my taste, so I never utilized their services. I'm sure any number of 5 star reservations could have been made, but not sure as to nightlife or cocktail bar recommendations. That said, there is a cocktail bar about 4 blocks away North/NW of here called MUD. It's good. Also, an Ippudo (yes like the NYC one) is like 4 blocks South. Not a sceney as NYC, but a good option for a slow night taking it easy. The train station is like 6-7 blocks away. So I liked that. Taxi to Xinyi or Da'an is about 200-250NTD. I'll stay here again.

This review is just for the buffet restaurant. We had lunch there, and it is definitely above average in terms of buffet selection and quality. The seating options are either in the buffet restaurant itself or in the hallway area by the windows that overlooks the lobby. I recommend the latter if possible because the windows provide natural light and it just feels less crowded than eating in the restaurant itself. There is a wide selection of food, including a sashimi bar, carved meats, a fruit bar, Western and Eastern food options, sukiyaki made your way, and more. The dessert options are impressive. There were at least 9-10 dessert options, as well as a self serve Haagen Dazs ice cream bar. There's also a mini juice bar where they can custom blend your desired mix of juices.

When I was younger I could sleep anywhere. It didn't matter. Flea bag youth hostel...ya no problem...shower that might give you funky rash...ya no problem...but now that I'm older and...not so any wiser...I've become pickier about where I stay when I travel. I found Okura through a friend in Taipei whose company does a lot of business conference here. I was told they were sorta like the Mandarin Oriental but less pricey...while I'm not sure if anyone if similar to the Mandarin but I'll go with the flow for the sake of the argument. They're Japanese owned so you can be sure you're going to get the Japanese legendary hospitality...the rooms were quiet and sound proof with blackout curtains which I appreciated. The location is pretty good...I may prefer the Nikko's location a bit more but lets not nitpick here...I didn't have their buffet only because I wanted to try some of the great restaurants nearby but their coffee is decent which for this sometimes grumpy jet lagged traveler is a godsend.....

This is the review about the 2nd floor continental room buffet. The price is on the higher side compare with other hotels. The food choice is above average. The sashimi section is pretty good and since the total number is seats is less than other competitions, the line is not as long. Overall. It is a good place to eat.

This has to be one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were fantastic. And when I say fantastic, that is probably an understatement. Everything about the room was of the highest quality. The bed was this fantastic plush mattress that you kinda just sink into and drift off to sleep. The pillows were also extremely plush and so fully stuffed that once your head touches the surface, you just drift off into a dream. The bathroom was very well appointed, with fantastic amenities such as luxurious shampoo and conditioner. The marble countertops gave the bathroom such a look and feel of elegance. Finally, the toilet. This was not some simple toilet. We joke around and say that the toilet is a porcelain throne. But in this case, it really is becomes it comes with the most fantastic bidet I have ever sat on. This bidet doesn't just wash and dry, this bidet has heated seats, water pressure controls, and light vibrating massage feature. Yes, a massage feature on a toilet seat. Furthermore, the breakfast buffet is fantastic. You have everything from western style waffles and toast to Chinese congee and Japanese soba noodles. While the stay here is most definitely pricey, you have to remember that you are paying for quality, and quality is what you definitely get :)

I'm more of a quality over quantity kinda person so most of the time all-you-can-eat buffets do not impress me. People at buffets act like greedy savages as they pile a shit ton of food on their plates knowing that they're most likely going to leave most of the food uneaten :( So as you can probably tell, my review is going to be biased based on my already established opinion on buffets. So how did I end up dining here despite of my slight dislike for buffets you might ask? Well, my parents decided to invite me to 下午茶 and since I've never been to Okura Taipei, I thought it would be pretty nice to check it out. :) But since this review is completely based on the buffet on the 2nd floor Continental Room, I won't comment on the decor/display/hospitality of the hotel. Compared to the buffet at Le Méridien, Okura's buffet is not as grandiose nor does it offer as many options. If you've been to The Le Méridien, you'll know that the buffet is pretty decked out. Okura however, does offers a nice salad bar with your fresh leafy greens, shrimps, tuna salad, mashed yams, beans etc. There's also a western section (quiche, risotto, bread..), a Japanese section (soba, sukiyaki, sashimi...) as well as a noodle station where they cook your noodles with your choice of toppings. The desserts consists of Haggen Dazs ice cream, fruits, cheese fondue, and many small cakes and pastries. One thing that worth mentioning is that there's a crepe station where you get your crepes freshly made with fruits. Although the food is average for a buffet, it's not bad at all. I'm not sure if I would come back though, but for a first timer it's still worth to come check it out. Moving on to the service... I wouldn't say that I'm disappointed with the service, but for a five star hotel, I sure am unsatisfied. The sushi station guy seemed annoyed at us when we used the wrong chopsticks for the sashimi. He "instructed" us to use the right ones. The rest of the staff, although friendly, didn't seem professional enough in terms of greeting and approaching the customers. To add on that, my mom and dad got two chipped coffee mugs (at different times) the manager, however, came to apologize twice and got my mom another cup of coffee, which was a really nice gesture. Also, the coffee and the earl gray flavored Haggen Dazs ice cream were misplaced, hahaha. Whatever, there were delicious nonetheless. So based on this dining experience, I am giving Okura 3.6 stars. This however does not reflect on the service or the stay at the hotel! So... If you're planning on coming here, be sure to come with an empty stomach like I did, and get ready to eat a obscene amount of Haggen Dazs ice cream.

Absolutely loved the Okura Taipei hotel, which is part of a japanese hotel company that includes the nikko hotels. Super high class hotel, reminds me of st regis or andaz - outstanding service with a prestigious, modern ambience. This place beats any of the western chain hotels in taipei; we looked extensively into hyatt, starwood, marriott properties. Loved the thoughtful design details in the rooms, which also make it a great place for families - padded headboard, japanese-style adjustable walls, small tiles on shower floor for traction, lovely shoe rack, beautiful wood floors, rounded office table with patterned leather surface, long chaise, etc. Location cant be beat - next to subway, mitsukoshi dept store, nice and active part of town. Loved the breakfast, wide selection of western and japanese gourmet items.

Yes I am biased but love love love well thought clean, well trained staff, aaaand automatic open lid toilet hotel! Didn't get the breakfast here because I want to try local food when you are in Taipei, but bakery looks fabulous! This will be my hotel in Taipei for my future visit!!!

My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful and enjoyable five-day stay at the five-star Okura Prestige Taipei. The hotel's convenient location is just steps away from plenty of retail (Eslite Bookstore / Department Store, UniQlo, Muji, Daiso, Matsukoshi Department Store, and many others stores / malls, and lots of restaurants. And of course, there is also a Starbucks and a McDonald's across the street. The Zhongshan MRT subway station is a short two-minute walk from the hotel, which will easily connect you with the rest of Taipei. This MRT station gives you access to the underground mall which is interesting to walk through. I believe this underground mall is about two-miles in length and connects you to a few other MRT stations and the Taipei train station. When we first arrived at the Okura Prestige Taipei, we immediately felt so welcome with the staff who greeted us and were impressed with the smooth check in process. We found the staff to be very friendly, efficient, and professional at all times. Our nicely sized room on the fifth floor was very clean, roomy, and sunny. There were two comfortable queen-sized beds, two sitting chairs, side table, desk, two night stands, a split bathroom and two televisions in this nicely decorated room; nothing was too gaudy, everything was tastefully done. The fancy heated toilet seat along with a sink was located separately from the rest of the bathroom where there was a ceiling rain shower, a deep soaking tub, and another sink. The second television was located right above the soaking tub so one could indulge in a soaking tub while watching tv. The huge room window allowed a lot of light into the room. The free internet connection in the room was always strong so we could easily use our laptops at all times; free internet is throughout the hotel. The hotel has a spa, fitness center, swimming pool, a bar, a bakery, and a few restaurants. We enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet in the Continental, located on the second floor. The Continental provides a great breakfast buffet with attentive and friendly service. The Continental also serves lunch and dinner buffets but we did not dine there at those times but we did see a lot of diners there. The hotel is well maintained, elegantly decorated, clean, and very customer service oriented. We look forward to returning to the Okura Prestige Taipei on our return visit to Taipei!

My review is based on the Okura's second floor buffet. It costs 1230NT per person during lunch, which is around $50CAD. Reservations are recommended because this place gets packed, especially on weekends! Compared to other hotel buffets, the Okura offers less variety but the best quality. The sections that stand out the most would be the sashimi and dessert area. The shrimp and crab are amazingly fresh (if you're not too lazy to peel them)! The sashimi offers a decent variety - fatty salmon is separated from lean salmon, and Chirashi is worth a try too. Here, you can actually pick how rare you'd like your roast beef. I wanted mine medium rare and the chef was happy to cut me a slice from the middle. The beef sukiyaki is also something different and worth a try here. Dessert is usually my favorite section, and it offers a chocolate fondue station, Haagen Daz ice cream station, and numerous cake selections. I'd say this buffet is worth the price tag, and just remember to come hungry!

An experience you'll never forget! Never have I ever used a toilet that would automatically raise and lower is lid when it senses your presence. You can experience this wonder and many other amazing things if you get a chance to live here for a night. Shower water pressure is top notch. The interior and exterior design of this hotel are beautiful, sophisticated, and clean. They have an amazing pool gym and spa. They provide some of the best white glove service in Taipei. The Okura Prestige is a godsend to any traveler. Japanese quality management is unparalleled.

Absolutely recommend the pinapple cakes at Okura. I understand there is a long debate on who makes the best pinapple cakes in Taipei. This is hands down, the best pinapple cake in Taipei. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very centrally located.

If I could give it no stars I would I'm here on my honeymoon they won't let us Into our room and on top of that the manager and the front desk lady are laughing at us. How is this good service. Being a manager myself I would never do this to someone. Especially on their honeymoon.

Incredibly elegant and beautiful hotel with personable and attentive staff. The rooms are gorgeous. The shower/tub is an incredible spa like experience with multiple shower heads and a tv. The hallways have priceless works of art on display. We had dinner at one of the restaurants and enjoyed it immensely. The breakfast is good but not excellent. Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience and plan to come back if we have an opportunity to return to beautiful and charming Taipei
