The Old Bank of Geeveston

We stopped here on our way from Hobart to the Hastings Cave. This little hidden gem surprised me. The food was fantastic, beautiful presentation and amazing flavours. My favourite was the gnocchi. The ravioli and risotto were also superb!

Interesting menu that might sound OTT on reading but it works and super tasty. Customer service was excellent despite being down 2 staff members and really appreciated being advised service would be slow as a result. We didnt mind this as we were seated at a lovely table under the huge cherry oak tree outside. So lovely. We had the wallaby meatballs, venison ragu and rabbit ravioli. All excellent. Love the hand made pottery serving plates too!

Came here for lunch today, OMG BEST GARLIC ESCARGOTS EVER,DEVINE.The Bruke was delicious and birdhouse dessert was amazing too,took that one home. Great service,fantastic ambience and decor,such a homely feeling. Love how they use all local produce. The chef is really lovely and incredibly gifted at the masterpieces he creates.Comes from the heart .Truly delicious.20/10. Not the cheapest meals but worth every cent.I wish i was here longer as i would love to try alot more meals.Thankyou for the great service and exquisite meals.🥰

Lovely restaurant in the heart of Geeveston Tassie. The flavours are wonderful, cannot fault. I had the Venison burger and fries, and yum. Shame it wasn’t a little bigger. Just a couple of criticisms, my wife had the Ravioli again flavours were fabulous, the Ravioli was way too crispy for Ravioli. When mentioned to the lady at the restaurant the response was that’s how we create the Ravioli, it’s our way our style. And fair enough, perhaps mention that on the menu. ? Also minor pet hate of mine, when one person finishes the waiter or waitress should wait when everyone is finished before removing plates. Otherwise we would certainly go back again.

Recommendation from a local in Hobart. Worth the drive. Wonderful small plates . We tried the Wallaby bites and squid arancini. Had the fresh pappadelle pasta with venison ragu main to split. All so good!

YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST EAT HERE. An incredible showcase of gastronomy. Who would have ever thought that this little town could hold such a wonder. The food pays homage to chefs everywhere and is just absolutely delicious without fault. The service was beyond comprehension, so good! It’s like being served food by the best family members you love to hang out with haha. And the atmosphere!! Stunning, cool, dark, rich, inspiring. The whole experience was inspiring. We will return to this little gem of a town solely for the purpose of the great experience this restaurant evokes. Do not miss this.

I had the venison burger and my friend had the rabbit ravioli and both were exceptional! Lovely setting, delicious food and great service. Prices are in keeping with the fine dining experience but very worth it!
