The Old Court Hotel

Very nice hotel. Very clean. Staff very helpful. Dog friendly. Breakfast well worth having. Most food sourced locally and well cooked and presented. As you would expect prices reflect the high quality. Certain local attractions etc are closed/reduced "out of season" for weather reasons which is normal. Highly recommend for couples

We had a marriage blessing reception at the old court hotel, and it was wonderful. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The venue was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Everything went smoothly, and we had a great time. Highly recommend!

Visited for a family meal celebrating 2 Birthdays and had a very disappointing poor quality meal ..I had a lemon sole presented in a none descript bland sauce ,the veg were very poor too,and presentation could look more appetising, my dessert of eton mess ( and that of another party member ). was literally a bowl of cream with a few very cold bits of strawberries and bits of meringue, no fruit sauce/ ice cream which is normally presented in this dessert , I left most of it ,my daughter had a supposed panna cotta but was more like a cheese cake certainly not panna cotta , tasted strange too, 2 of us tried it and was extrrmely cold , not thawed out enough ( so bought in not homemade). she left hers too which is so unusual as she loves her 'puds' and it was her birthday so was looking forward to a great meal ...one of the party had the lamb which was quite fatty so the dog did well out of it !!! Another had fish and chips ( which was indeed good) but disappointing that this hotel refuses to serve peas with meals , who wants a bit of wishy washy salad with every meal !!! especially fish and chips / scampi etc .. visit this hotel regularly as we like the building and location but find the quality of food fluctuates so much, thiis visit was so disappointing on this occasion as a special family time and we also spent a lot of money .. have to add in its favour the staff are pleasant and service was good on this occasion ...

Food is very nice, - reasonable price for the quality of it. Service was excellent-very friendly. Also good choice for a pub, lots of options. The building is lovely with lots of little nooks etc separating areas so feels cosy even though it is quite a large building.

Like the last reviewer we visited this establishment with friends for lunch today. Despite the best intentions of the lovely waitress the quality of food served to table was abysmal. We complained about our meals , ingredients missing, food unappetising and cold chips. Not one senior member of staff bothered to attend to us. They were just hanging around the front desk. We had travelled 75 miles to meet friends for lunch. What a waste of time and money

I have had the wort night in my life. Mattress are so uncomfortable they gave me back pain. Cleanliness is also questionable. But the food oh the food was the worst. I don't know who teach the chef how to make the Hollandaise souce and tzatziki but what we got served was awful. Please before you promote someone as a chef at least teach them the basic. Not worth the money.

Stopped here for a coffee, staff were brilliant,a member of staff gave us directions to Symonds Yat and was very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is a fine example of Elizbethan architecture inside and out. When we return to the area next year we will book a table there as the menu looked good and was reasonable prices

Had our Xmas works party here. The party night was very well organised, the dj was fabulous. Food was very nice and would definitely go there again. Thanks to all the staff for their hard work and treating everyone so well.

Great food every time, whatever the time of day. The Old Court is a worthy eatery and nearly always busy. Lots if room to find a quiet spot to savour it fully. Arrive hungry to enjoy the full experience.

Only vegetarian main was a mushroom ravioli type thing in a tomato based sauce. It was not good. The flavors didn't go together at all. I regret being nice and paying for it rather than sending it back. Tho no one asked how we liked our mains either. If it had been good, it still would have been over priced. Had a cheese starter than tasted decent but not worth £15. I booked after looking at what's listed as the menu on the site not realizing that was only for residents. Non-residents get a different, less appealing and over priced menu that's called the Tudor dining room menu. That would have been nice of them to mention when I asked if they were open to non-residents. Shame because looking at their menu, their are some dishes that looked appetizing.

wonderful place to eat cosy and warm summer very cool hide away always busy but they look after you as if you were the only customer
