The Old Custom House

We have stayed here twice now and found Peter and Maddie to be lovely hosts. The food was great and the room was clean and spacious. Fantastic view too. Highly recommend to others. Thank you for your hospitality.

Just returned home today after our 4 night stay in this lovely place. The Old Custom House is a perfect location. Peter and Maddie are great hosts. The rooms and the breakfast are fantastic. We stayed in the Queens Warehouse and took our dog along too. This is our second visit and we are already looking forward to staying again soon. Thank you for a perfect holiday

Visiting wonderful Wells next Sea was made even more enjoyable by staying in the most romantic room in the town. Overlooking the bay we stayed in a beautiful four post bed with views across the estuary out to sea one side, and behind us, a pretty cottage garden with sparrows chirping in the bush. My girlfriend was thoroughly charmed and relaxed completely in our two day stay with the Rainsfords, who were the perfect hosts. Peter's breakfasts were delicious and set us up for the day, and Maddie's rooms were immaculately kept and the bed was extremely comfortable for a great nights sleep. I would recommend anyone to stay here and look forward to returning for another stay!

Stopped here for New years and was a wonderful experience. Peter and Maddie were great hosts providing tasty breakfasts and comfy rooms, so peaceful and quiet. Would love to stop again in the near future.

After a change of plans for our Silver Wedding Anniversary on the 18th October, we found this 16th Century gem. Peter and Maddie made us feel welcome and were very informative. Everything about this place, from the lovely four-poster bedroom overlooking East Quay, with quality bed linen, towels, coffee machine and complimentary tray with local tea and good coffee, was faultless. This also included the breakfast which Peter went through the menu with you each morning. Good choice of everything, locally sourced and freshly cooked to order, and nothing was too much trouble. Jams and marmalade were delicious, homemade by Maddie. All served on a crisp white linen tablecloth and napkins. This was just the place to unwind and enjoy the area. Thank you Peter and Maddie. Brilliant B&B. We stayed in the 'Queen's Warehouse' room, which was huge. Comfy beds and lovely views. Terrific breakfast in the morning. Peter was a great host, really friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to staying again.

Really lovely stay. We had great views of the rushing tides from the 4-poster room. Spacious and comfortable. Fine breakfast served by our friendly and informative host.

Bed & Breakfast 3 rooms. Ground floor twin with kitchenette. First floor 4-poster bed. Plus another room. Very comfortable. Views straight on to the estuary. Good breakfast. Parking off road. Very reasonable rates.
