My husband and I, along with a few friends, recently had the pleasure of staying at The Old Fort Estate on the stunning tropical island of Bequia, and it was an experience we will never forget. Everything about this estate exceeded our expectations, from the breathtaking views to the luxurious accommodations and the exceptional staff who made our stay so special. The pool was a true highlight, offering not only a refreshing escape but also panoramic views that were simply mesmerizing. It felt like paradise lounging by the water, surrounded by the beauty of Bequia. Another unforgettable part of our stay was preparing fresh meals and enjoying them on the patio with our friends. The atmosphere was perfect—peaceful, scenic, and filled with laughter and great conversations. It’s rare to find a place that creates such a blend of relaxation and togetherness. The estate itself is immaculate, with well-appointed accommodations that blend luxury and comfort seamlessly. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and cared for, adding a personal touch to every aspect of our stay. The Old Fort Estate is more than just a destination—it’s an experience that stays with you long after you leave. Our group stayed at Old Fort over the New Year's holiday. Like the other reviews state, the views are spectacular - the ocean by day and shooting stars at night. The property is rustic and very unique, and well suited for those who enjoy nature and open air living. The pool is stunning, and one of the best my group has experienced. Our favorite part of the property was the private chef, which they recommended, Chef Tim. Please ask for him when you stay here! We took taxis to get down to the beach (we loved Curtice taxi, who made our trip special), and it was very easy. Bequia is a special place, and we will be returning.

My stay at Old Fort Estate in Bequia this December was absolutely unforgettable! Quirin and his incredible staff went above and beyond to make the time there exceptional. The estate itself is stunning—beautifully maintained, with breathtaking views in every direction and a perfect blend of off-the-grid escapism, historic charm and modern comfort. The accommodations were spacious, open, and peaceful, offering privacy and tranquility that made my stay so special. Quirin and his staff truly made the experience remarkable with their warm hospitality. Whether it was helpful tips about the island, organizing tours/taxis to breathtaking hikes and untouched beaches, or ensuring we had everything we needed, they added so much to the magic of the trip. If you’re looking for a serene and luxurious getaway with quality service and a few eco-friendly touches, Old Fort Estate is a must. Spent 6 days at The Old Fort in Bequia with family. It was a beautiful place to stay. Quirin, Trudy, and Stromy (sorry if spelled any names wrong) were wonderful and made us all feel very welcome. The views were wonderful. We rented a car and explored many different places on the island. Having a kitchen available was great, not having to eat out all the time. The locals were all very friendly.

In March, our family of 11 stayed at the Old Fort in Bequia for a week long vacation. What a unique property! We loved the open concept house, the cobbled walls, and the spectacular views from throughout the house. We were also blown away by the master bedroom in the tower that was easily one of the nicest rooms I’ve ever stayed in.||We spent a lot of time by the pool, which was the perfect place to relax and take in the ocean views. The house also had tables and seating areas scattered throughout, so there was never a shortage of places to lounge. The kitchen came fully equipped, making family dinners an easy task. And while the house felt secluded on a beautiful property, the bars, restaurants, and beaches were just a short drive away.||The host was responsive, attentive, and ensured that his groundskeeper was available for anything we needed. Bequia is a small island but given the location of the property, we were happy that we rented a car. We also frequently walked into town, which was a beautiful walk that took about ~40 minutes. ||The Old Fort is such a unique property well suited for large groups. I would highly recommend staying here!

My husband and I were so excited to be invited by our dear friend for a getaway to Bequia Island. We had never visited that part of the world before. Well what an incredible place! The entire experience was just amazing! Our friendpicked us up from the Fairy and we drove up to The Old Fort where we were to spend the next week in paradise. The views are just absolutely incredible- the beautiful warm breezes , and the entire Fort just was like something out a movie. We enjoyed the quiet private estate so much - hiking- pool afternoons - romantic dinning on the patio of amazing local lobster tails- star gazing and the best sleeping with beautiful warm gentle air. The little details and historic charm of The Fort are just so special. Our host Quirin was so kind to take us around this beautiful Island and show us some of the local spots. Finding long term accommodation and one that is dog friendly is a challenge on Bequia, so we were very grateful Quirin gave us the opportunity to stay at the Sugar House. Quirin is a very gracious host, and when he's on island, very responsive and helpful.||The Sugar House is a lovely stone structure perfect for 2 to 4 people. It's equipped with most things you would need for daily living; wifi, dishwasher, bed linens, washing machine, freezer, refrigerator, oven, etc.|There was no bbq, toaster, TV nor microwave however. (We had our own microwave and TV.)||Old Fort is located on a quiet, residential area of Bequia, great for walks. A vehicle is necessary however as beaches, shopping and restaurants are too far to walk to. ||There is no A/C. During the winter months the temperatures are very pleasant so it's not needed. Summers are very hot however, and as such the temps could get very uncomfortable especially at night. The pool is available if no other guests (from the main house) are using it.||It's a lovely spot with beautiful views and sunsets. We enjoyed our stay.

We spent 8 months at The Sugar House, one of the beautiful properties at the Old Fort Estate. Everything about it was spectacular! The location is wonderful in a lovely neighborhood with stunning views of the hillsides and ocean. The house itself is breathtaking. It is built in the foundation of an historic sugar mill and it is a very unique living experience. It is extremely open to the outside and yet felt very private at the same time. The furnishings are lovely and the open living room, dining room, and kitchen area is comfortable yet elegant. The kitchen is very well stocked. The house comes with about a dozen turtles that live in the backyard and we really enjoyed having them there. The owner and caretaking staff are very attentive and helpful. The house and property are even more lovely than the pictures on the website.||Bequia itself is amazing. The island has first rate beaches, restaurants, and activities like snorkeling, sailing, hiking, fishing, and island hopping. The people are extremely friendly and welcoming. It is a fabulous place for a vacation and we can’t wait to return to the Sugar House.
