The Old House Hostel

A really charming little hostel, just a short walk up the hill from the town centre. The two owners/staff were so friendly and Queen the volunteer from Alabama was the perfect hostess! There to entertain all the guests and she even made us all delicious Pina Coladas one afternoon. The Old House itself was nice and clean, with a nice verandah out the back to chill. One thing I would say is there is no air con and for much of the time we stayed it was unbearably hot with no escape from the heat during the day. At night, thankfully, it cooled down so it was fine to sleep in, but with the windows open you do get the odd loud noise from the neighbouring road.

This place is absolutely fantastic! They make you feel so at home there, best experience I've had with a hostel. Aldo the proprietor is one of the most caring and kind individuals I've ever met, can't say enough good things about this place. They even have hot water for showers, this place really appreciates it's guests! Be sure to book in advance as dorm rooms often fill up quick as it's the most desirable hostel to stay at in San Ignacio. Had such a great time here thank you Old House Hostel!

Easy check in, very friendly and welcoming people. They make you feel at home. Wonderful people and an awesome place to stay. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone traveling. You can also see iguanas and geckos from the porch of this place. I love it!! Thank you so much.

A great little hostel that feels like a home away from home. The staff were so lovely and accommodating, especially Ragga and Roach 🧡 Downstairs showers were a dream! Location is also great, there is a slight hill up to the hostel but nothing too strenuous! Will be back when I next visit.

We loved staying at The Old House Hostel. It is our favourite place we have stayed on our entire trip! The staff were the best people and made us feel at home. I highly recommend staying here if you are in San Ignacio

Stayed here in November. It is the best hostel!!! Such a good vibe and people. Feels like a communal home in the best way. The two veranda terraces are really social. Bathrooms and well equipped kitchen. Location is great, two minutes walk from the centre. Downstairs twice a week is Belize Soul Project, which is fantastic. The owners are wonderful. Highly recommended.

My favourite hostel in Belize. The staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome. The beds are comfortable and showers clean and hot water. This hostel makes you feel at home and there something that is comforting during travelling. The road can be noisy but they offer free earbuds for your stay.

Great hostel with an amazing vibe. Live music at the bar downstairs is excellent. Make sure to attend if you are staying! Comfy rooms and nice common area plus the best shower I had in CA so far!
