Amazing Hostel, I like it so much. It is well located, the staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are tidy, clean, quiet as well as the bathrooms and the staff are so kind. I highly recommend this place to spend a wonderful journey.

My advice is stay away. After checking in and been brought to the 4 bed room, the first thing I noticed was the horrendous smell of stale tobacco in the room and then noticing that the bed had no pillow, but the bed underneath had two. I brought this to the attention of the member of staff and a replacement was provided. The real problems began at 2.30 am when the female who was sleeping underneath returned . After she settled in someone outside began calling up to her and she left and returned with this non registered male stranger. This couple was middle aged. They began to have loud sex and when I asked them to stop and be respectful of others in the room, the male made a dismissive response and after another 20 minutes of noise, I had had enough and told them so. I could not return to sleep as I felt very unsafe and vacated the room after 6 am.|If you can find anywhere else in Westport, do so. I'm in my 60s, have travelled the world and used hostels since my youth. This hostel is by far the worst experience I have ever had staying anywhere. After complaining I was offered a future one night stay for free, I won't be taking up the offer.

The check in staff were courteous and helpful. The beds and room are as expected for the price. I was very disappointed with the cancellation policy. We were originally a party of 12 but one person dropped out a week before. There was only a partial refund offered. Most worryingly, there was no hot water for any of our party on a Saturday or Sunday of a busy bank holiday weekend. To sum up, its a fantastic location for budget accommodation but make sure you arrive clean and make sure you don't need to shower for the duration of your stay unless you have a liking for ice cold showers.

Shanon and the team are so friendly and helpful! They made a very kind welcome to the hostel and easeful check-in. The hotel is right in the centre of Westport so you can walk everywhere (highly recommend walking the grounds and forest of Westport House!) The female dorm was comfortable and had space for bags, no lockers. The female only bathroom did the job but has the shower you need to keep pressing for water. The location and service make this place a great stay!

We were very disappointed with this hostel, particularly given the high price and when comparing to similarly priced hostels in the area. First of all - the showers are horrible and prison-like. There is only one temperature for the water - by the time we got to showering there was no hot water left! On the wall there was a sign to beware that sometimes it came out too hot. You have to press the button and each time the water comes out for only a few seconds. You have to take your towel into the stall with you, or walk around the room naked. You have to tell them when you come in that you need to rent a towel (they don't provide them). Breakfast was a joke, just toast and you can make your own porridge. Rooms very cramped and small, only one or two electricity outlets for charging. Bunks too low, you bang your head on the top bunk and can't sit there. No bed lamps (everyone has to go to sleep at the same time), no curtains around your bed. No storage space for your things, no shelves or closets. Not so clean. Very creaky. They ask you to strip the beds and check out at 10:00 am. We were running a bit late (partially due to going to sleep so late after looking for towels and showering in cold water...), and they were very un-accommodating (kept coming in, would not give us more time to pack up our stuff). The wi-fi hadn't been working for days, we were told, so no free wi-fi (although it is advertised). We stayed at a wonderful hostel in Galway that was the same price, but soooo much better.

Checked in Saturday Evening with thomas all went smoothly and was v quick. |Thomas took a behavior deposit which was to be refunded at check out which was fine. |The following morning I land down at reception at 9.25 to see it is closed. I await patiently. After 15 mins of waiting I ring the porter number twice with no answer. |I have to continue to wait for a total of 30 minutes before a girl who was sitting in the kitchen area chatting carelessly opens the reception door . She could clearly see people were waiting to open the reception to get their deposit back. She had no interest in doing her job just talking to her friend . She showed no regard or respect for people. Disappointing behavior. Eventually I got into reception to collect my deposit. |Room was clean but very noisy.

My experience at the hostel was excellent! The atmosphere is simple, welcoming, organized, and very clean. The location is perfect for exploring Westport on foot—everything is nearby: restaurants, supermarkets, a park, a movie theater, and public transportation. The rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped, and there's a cozy living room to relax in. The staff was always very friendly and ready to help with anything I needed. It's the kind of place that makes you feel at home. I definitely recommend it! 🤗

Great hostel in Westport and facilities nice and clean. Only giving 3 stars as a gang of (18 of them?!) lads staying across all rooms in the hostel kept everyone up and the night porter didn't just call guards to evict them. Stomping, roaring, running around the hostel waking everyone up at 1am and refusing to settle down (1-4am!) Back at it roaring and shouting at 8am and ruined sleep for every other guest. Gardai should have been called to deal with these guys and get them out, rather than just give up and leave all other paying guests sleep deprived.
