We had an excellent stay at The Old Woolstore in Hobart. The location is perfect—walking distance to the waterfront, Salamanca, and plenty of great restaurants and cafes. The building itself has so much charm and history, but the rooms are modern, spacious, and very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and quiet, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, always going the extra mile to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Parking was convenient, and the on-site facilities (including the bar and restaurant) were fantastic. Overall, The Old Woolstore offers the perfect mix of character, comfort, and convenience. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hobart and will definitely stay again.

We added the buffet breakfast to our stay. It was absolutely delicious and a great variety. We also ate in the restaurant twice for dinner and the food was exceptional. The facilities were fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful through our stay. Great extras were the shampoo and body wash that were in the room. Also having tissues was a welcome extra that most places don’t offer anymore. The housekeeping was wonderful ensuring our room was reset every day. The amenities within our room were great also. We loved the little kitchen and cooked 3 times while we were there. The extra toilet was good too as it meant we didn’t have to constantly disturb someone if they were still sleeping. The room was lovely to relax in after after a big day of exploring Hobart . I’d definitely stay here again and would certainly recommend it to anyone who was visiting Hobart.

I can’t say enough about this hotel/apartment accommodations. I rented a studio for 1 week and it was absolutely perfect. I faced the road with a bit of a view but it was great having space plus a small kitchen which included a dishwasher, stovetop, small fridge and microwave. The washer and dryer is a big plus if you are on a long holiday with many stops. The bed was super comfortable, the cleaning crew is spot on, always there to get you what you need. The downstairs lobby is so pretty with the red brick and the bar has happy hour daily from 5:30-6:30. Very good prices on beer and wine. This is in a very walkable spot to the harbors and market. Not right in the center but definitely a nice location. Special call out to the staff - unfortunately for me not paying attention I twisted my ankle slightly on my last day (not at the hotel) and had amazing service from a young staff member. She brought me ice, an ace bandage and asked repeatedly how else she could help. Lovely young lady made 3 trips downstairs for me. Truly appreciated as her kindness made all the difference in feeling much better very quickly!

Had a 1 night stay at The Old Woolstore in Hobart, Tasmania. A short walk to the city, parking was easy on site. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The room was well equipment and extremely clean ,5 stars! A lovely venue, suitable for all family sizes. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend

Well located and comfortable spacious room with a kitchenette, handy to shops and waterfront. Decor a bit tired, and the dryer didn't work properly so I couldn't do laundry as planned. But a good stay overall and I'd happily book here again. Nice staff.

Everyone was very helpful and kind. Reception was of great assistance, even printed out an important document for us. The room service was great & the chef & assistance made great meals. The room custodian cleaning staff were very helpful and friendly and cleaned the room very well. No complaints from us. Regards, w&m

Nice rooms, very clean and tidy and helpful staff. Restaurant was good although lacking a little character but the food was very good. You have to book your parking well ahead as they fill up but we were able to get a spot on the street not affected by the timed parking. Only issue is that it is next to the hospital and unfortunately the helicopter was needed a few times in the night so hard to to sleep with the noise. Chose other options for our return visit only due to that issue

We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the beautiful Old Woolstore Hotel in Hobart. The young ladies at reception were super friendly and helpful, and our room was perfect - very comfortable beds and first class facilities. Room service was excellent, and we enjoyed dinner in the restaurant every night—it was brilliant, as were the staff. Breakfast was also top notch. We would love to visit again!

Yelp
I thought I'd checked into hospital when I rocked up to my room at The Woolstore. This place was dire. Lino floors in the bathroom, a weird little TV attached to the wall in the bedroom. The bed was so hard it reminded my of a night in my youth when I curled up on the pavement to have a little nap - I am pretty sure I had a better night's sleep back then. The curtain was sheer and I had to put a blanket up to block out the street light, then the morning sunlight. The whole place just made me depressed. It was awful. I could not wait to get the hell out of there. I wished I'd had a stilnox on me so I could knock myself out. Sadly I didn't and woke up on average once an hour until I finally got up and hauled @ss outta there to the Henry Jones Art Hotel for breakfast where I tried to erase the memories of the previous night with their gorgeous buffet. I was in a one bedroom apartment and I don't know if other rooms are better, I expect not. For the same money you can stay at the Grand Chancellor and there are so many other options in the area. Henry Jones Art Hotel and Davey Zero Serviced Apartments to name two. This place gives sheep a bad name. Avoid. L

Yelp
One thing I must say The Old Whoolstore is in a great location. Close to the dock, the market on the weekend, shops and restaurants. Would I stay here again....probably? Likes: - Location - Communal washer and dryer for a small fee - Really good breakfast (includes tea/coffee, fresh pastries, cheese, meat, pastries, etc...) - Gym, small but efficient - Parking, if you can find a spot....if not the staff if very helpful in finding a spot - Shower is good - Friendly staff Dislikes: - Room is blah....lacks decor - 2, full beds to = 1 king is a bit weird but I noticed this in other hotels throughout AUS. Maybe it's a common thing here? Overall I liked the hotel but if I were to come back to Hobart I would do some research into other hotels.

Yelp
Handy location with a short walk to the docks, salamanca etc. The studio apartment is ok, nice albeit small bathroom, large TV and wardrobe. Unfortunately I think bed may be made of bricks.. 2 nights into a 3 night stay and I can't really feel my back and I don't think I've had longer than 2 hours solid sleep without tossing and turning.

Yelp
Pretty standard fare when it comes to 3 star hotels, average rooms and clean. They have a massive parking lot out the back so it might suit people who are starting their trip off by car as we were. We didn't try any of the food offerings on site, but they have a tiny gym. It's a good location, less than 5 minutes walk to the dock so good place to stay if you are just looking at sleeping here - not an experience. Free WiFi which was good to see. No noise through the walls, despite being a full house which was also good for a night's sleep.

Yelp
Centrally located and spacious the Old Woolstore apartments is a great place to stay for families visiting Hobart. The 2 bedroom is large in layout and it's only a 5 minute walk down to Constitution Dock. Some of the decor a little outdated and this is not 5 star luxury but it's functional and clean. Will definitely stay there again when we return to Hobart.
