The Olde Bell, a Design Boutique Hotel Hurley, United Kingdom

"The Olde Bell is a modernised 5-star coaching inn providing Ilse Crawford designed restful rooms with a rustic elegance. Some parts date back as far as 1135 and it has kept some of its original design features. The Olde Bell is a 45-minute drive from Central London, and 20 miles from Heathrow. The M4 motorway is less than a 6-mile drive away and Temple Golf Club is a mile away. In warmer months, enjoy local ales and food from the ‘summer kitchen’ in the huge meadow garden. In winter, open fires create an inviting cosiness in the main bar. Free Wi-Fi internet is available throughout." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Hotel was great for me, the welcoming from the staff was like I was a returning customer, all greeting as I arrived it was lovely. Dom and his cheeky banter was great and you can see the team and himself have a great relationship. My room was perfect and spacious. Surprisingly although it was above the restaurant it was very quiet and I had two nights of beautiful sleep. The food in the evening was excellent. Hope to be working locally again soon so I can make the most of this great establishment.

We had a lovely night away . Dinner was fab, the drinks weren't pricey. Breakfast was enjoyable and our room was in the hotel. Overall a beautiful place with plenty of history and set in a lovely quaint village.

We stopped at the pub for lunch walking along the Thames path and the food was very good. Burgers were a good size and really tasty. Pizzas are massive and really nice. Salads also good to. Garden to the rear was very big and plenty of seating even over a busy bank holiday weekend. Would recommend the pub. Can't comment on the accommodation

Location was quiet and free car parking was plentiful. Hotel has an old charm to it but some tired fixtures and a bit of cobwebs noted and dust in room. Breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. Would stay again.

The Olde Bell hosted my parents 80th birthday for a group of about 35 friends and family. The whole experience was wonderful. The staff were incredibly kind, thoughtful and eager to please (including tending to wounded grandchildren). They were also very flexible in trying to make things work for us. The food was great, and the venue is beautiful, including a huge garden for kids to romp in, and lovely local walks down to the Thames. Every single guest commented on how great the location was - we could not have asked for anything more.

We spent two nights at this pleasant hotel.|It is situated in the picturesque village of Hurley just a short walk from the Thames and within easy reach of both Marlow and Henley.|All the staff were unfailingly friendly, helpful and willing. ..and they all had a personality! It really makes such a difference when you interact with people who are human!|We stayed in the building next to the hotel. The room was comfortable, of a good size and clean and tidy. The bed was massive, although, strangely, didn't have a headboard- not sure what that was all about! |Just some feedback, and not a moan, but upon arrival there was a used towel in the room, presumably from the previous guests.|The breakfast was varied, plentiful and the ambience of the restaurant made for an enjoyable time.|We ate at the restaurant on one night. The food was ok, but if anything, on the small size- especially the sticky toffee pudding.|There is a large garden, which again, was pleasant.|Large car park, so no problem parking.|Providing the standards are kept high with the staff, this hotel should continue to thrive.|We would not hesitate to stay here again should the opportunity arise.

We stayed for 5 nights in September. The hotel is beautiful, full of history and character, with a|dining room overlooking the gardens and plenty of outdoor seating surrounded by trees. The|atmosphere was generally relaxed and pleasant.|Our room was in the converted barn area. It appeared newly decorated, with a very comfortable|king-size bed, excellent pillows, and a modern bathroom. Décor was contemporary, although the|lower part of the bathroom door was dirty, which was a shame as it would have taken little effort to|clean.|Staff were helpful and pleasant throughout our stay.|The main downside was the noise from the nearby party/meeting barn. Loud music continued late|into the night, and guests leaving the event were noisy, which made it difficult to enjoy the peaceful|holiday we had hoped for. On arrival, the semi-rock music being played in the dining room also felt|out of place, though staff did lower it when asked.|Overall, this is a very special hotel in a lovely village with lots of history. Next time, I would request a|quieter room in the main house to make the most of the experience.|Value was good, no room service and I didn’t see if there was a snack available.

Fantastic little find, and the place really positively surprised us! Great location and surrounded by lots of beauty. Tucked out of the way of the main drag. Rooms were clean, spacious and already set up when we arrived, staff were very friendly and helpful on check-in. The beds were comfy and had everything you needed for a lovely stay.
