The Olde Bell, a Design Boutique Hotel Hurley, United Kingdom

"The Olde Bell is a modernised 5-star coaching inn providing Ilse Crawford designed restful rooms with a rustic elegance. Some parts date back as far as 1135 and it has kept some of its original design features. The Olde Bell is a 45-minute drive from Central London, and 20 miles from Heathrow. The M4 motorway is less than a 6-mile drive away and Temple Golf Club is a mile away. In warmer months, enjoy local ales and food from the ‘summer kitchen’ in the huge meadow garden. In winter, open fires create an inviting cosiness in the main bar. Free Wi-Fi internet is available throughout." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Hotel was great for me, the welcoming from the staff was like I was a returning customer, all greeting as I arrived it was lovely. Dom and his cheeky banter was great and you can see the team and himself have a great relationship. My room was perfect and spacious. Surprisingly although it was above the restaurant it was very quiet and I had two nights of beautiful sleep. The food in the evening was excellent. Hope to be working locally again soon so I can make the most of this great establishment.

Very easy to find with ample parking. On arrival, there was an abundance of staff which were all very welcoming and easy to identify in their smart uniforms. Check in was quick and directions to room easy to follow. The 'classic room' had ample space for two people with a huge comfy bed, desk and chair, TV as well as tea/ coffee making facilities. Only thing missing was a USB socket or three! The room and en suite were a bit tired but from other reviews it looks like a few of the rooms are due an update and refresh. The food was delicious. First our night we had an excellent lamb shank and a very good fish and chips, second evening we had the beef burger and a tikka masala, again both scrummy. Breakfast was included and definitely plentiful! The first morning had an additional menu which wasn't available on the second which was unfortunate as I really fancied the eggs benedict which wasn't on offer. But the cooked breakfast and pastries filled up. |Overall a lovely stay in unique surroundings, a short walk from the Thames Path and a little further wander into Marlow. |Special mention to Terry who was always on hand, always smiling and very knowledgable of the local area. I didn't get the name of the lovely lady that was also an excellent host. I'm sure she'll know who she is!

My breakfast at the old bell was absolutely delicious, the eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon was succulent. Our server Odette was very attentive and cared for our every need. She always had a smile on her face and was very polite at all times (even when I had difficult modifications) please let her know that she made our experience incredible alongside our lovely food. (10/10 poached eggs)

We decided to stop by after hearing great things from a friend, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The setting was really welcoming and the food was spot on. My friend and I had a great time. Big shoutout to Alex, who looked after us super friendly and made the experience even better. Everyone working there seemed really on point. Would happily recommend to others!

Having lived here for 2 1/2 years 1 week each month I have stayed in most of the rooms. These vary considerably depending on which building you are in. The main building can be lovely but there are quirks which are to be expected in such an old building. There are three buildings some are newer than others all share a heating system that runs all year round. In the winter the rooms are roasting. So I recommend to open all the windows upon arrival turn off the heating and after a day or two the room temperature is no longer sub tropical. The location is great if you are willing to walk down to the river and check out Hurley Locke. It’s a wonderful way to start the day. The breakfast is reliable and the eggs Benedict or Royale are very good. The full English varies. You can get porridge which is pretty good too. The bar food is good too and cheese platter under priced. I have had good lamb shank too. The staff are extremely accommodating and very friendly. All in all a good spot very good value a find.

An absolutely gorgeous place. Large grounds for outdoor dining. Inside, the dining rooms were lovely. Although we didn't stay in the rooms, our friends who did said they were spacious and wonderful. Dinner was very nice and reasonably priced. The service was excellent

The Olde Bell is wonderful ! Super cozy vibes with exposed old beams and soft lighting. The food is amazing, seasonal ingredients turned into tasty dishes. The staff are very professional and friendly too, notably Alex who served us, they were all super attentive and make you feel right at home. Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area!

A lovely old in first built in the 12th Century. It's best feature is the location. A short walk to the Thames where there is a lock thats very interesting. The hotel itself does have an old Wordly charm about it, and the gardens are lovely. They changed our room to one inside the hotel as our original one was in an outbuilding. The room was functional and, as expected, quite small. The breakfasts were adequate. They ran out of brown bread halfway through. The staff were friendly but we found the service a bit chaotic. All in all, however, and pleasant stay
