The employees were the rudest people I have ever dealt with in a customer service setting. Walked in and a brown haired young lady immediately yelled at me and my mother not even giving us a chance to speak. Then she proceeded to roll her eyes at us when we stated we wanted tickets for the movie that started in an hour and were willing to wait in the theater for it to start (because she stated after getting tickets we couldn’t leave the building.) We will not be coming back after our movie and we both suggest going elsewhere for anyone considering this place.

Very disappointing experience. The theatre itself is so charming and coming here could be a really cool experience. Drove almost an hour with our kids for a matinee, we arrived a few minutes early and got in the huge line, which moved painfully slow. On finally entering the building we could see the problem: the ticket and concession stand are combined. Two lines with one teenager at each taking food, drink, and ticket orders for each person. By the time we got to the desk we were 30 minutes past show time. The movie was well started. Being exasperated, I expressed that they should not start the movie until everyone who was in line on time was admitted and that they really should have separate lines for concessions and tickets so that they can get people in on time. The girl responded defensively that they couldn't do either thing, and to be fair, it really isn't her fault. It's the fault of the management. We left and went to chattanooga, for a smooth, if less charming, movie going experience.

The Oldham Theater is very nostalgic and great to visit to experience a movie theater like they were years ago. Ticket prices and concession prices are reasonable. The seats are dirty and the theater floors are dirty. The concession staff is younger and are more interested in being on their phone than waiting on customers. The night we were there, the weather was bad. We were taken to the basement for safety. It took a long time to start the movie after we went back into the theater as the staff was in the concession stand.

Was a real pleasure seeing an old theater like this still operating. Was comfortable temperature wise and chair wise. Was very clean and concessions were great. It has a very good sound system, but Was too loud during the comercials. Thank you for keeping this gem 💎 maintained so it can be experienced for everyone who loves these movie theaters.

Went to see Mission Impossible last night here. Someone had to go get someone to turn lights down after movie started. Then the movie went “off” close to the end of movie. Did not come back on! I went down to find someone to fix or whatever. Only 2 young girls ( and maybe a young man?) downstairs. One finally went upstairs. Not sure if ever got to come back on or not. We just left but looked like everyone was in lobby so I’m assuming they never got back on. 😡. I don’t think it’s smart or safe to have you g girls running the show (literally). As usual, popcorn butter us weird. Not sure what it is but doesn’t taste like butter. I appreciate having thester in town but needs a little better operating.

We had a great time here. Ticket prices are great, old style show house with antiqueness all over the place. Staff is friendly and movie and sound quality is pretty good. The only reason I'm docking a star is the men's bathroom, it's a bit TOO cosy. Needs a divider for the sit-down potty spot and a divider between the leakin area would be great so you're not touching shoulders to the fella next to ya!

Wish they would play actually decent movies and not just little kid movies all the time. I feel like they would have a lot more business if they did that including myself because I love the atmosphere here I just I’m not willing to see the movies that they always tend to play. It is a very well-maintained theater with kind staff.

Slow service when getting tickets and popcorn. Drinks were down. The movie began before anyone had arrived at the theatre and they refused to restart even though EVERYONE had missed at least 15 minutes of the movie. Not only that, but the lights stayed on, making it an incredibly disappointing movie watching experience. I will not be returning.

Yelp
Great classic theater, brings back memories of what the movie theaters looked like before all this modern seats. very economical and the quality of the picture and sound are great. Very cozy, an antique like experience. My family loves it and everyone is so nice. Perfect for a small town. Enjoy the movie!

Yelp
I loved this place as a kid and sad to say I will not be returning. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a heavy mildew smell the air literally felt thick to breathe and was extremely unpleasant. We hoped as we got away from the concessions maybe it would lighten up but unfortunately that wasnt the case. We went to the upstairs theater. When walking into the stairway the smell of rats was so intense, my whole group talked about it. We all live in trailers, the occasional mouse obviously gets in and its an unmistakable scent that hits you so hard just in the stairway. This hall was also littered around the risers with rat feces. It made eating the stale popcorn that much more unappealing. Finally, in the theater, we sat in the middle section near the middle of the room. The rat smell only got more intense here. We kept our feet in the seats from the fear of what may run across our foot. It was THAT bad. The cherry on top? The movie was played at such a low volume, we could hear the rats running around inside the walls and ceiling more than we could hear the horror film we were watching. We all sat folded up in our seats because the armrests would peel your skin off they were so sticky. All in all, the popcorn was gross, The floors were disgusting, they have a rat infestation to make your dog cry, the movie was too quiet, there was visible rat feces in the floor, the chairs weren't clean and did it mention the smell that made your nostrils regret life itself? I have never written a review. I Definitely haven't written a bad one but Im not going back. It was a 0/10 experience. If it continues like it is i expect this business to close soon. So sad for a place that was once so iconic to Winchester.

Yelp
From the moment we arrived at this theatre, We were super excited! The Theatre has charm that you can only find in a small town! I've seen a plethora of movies here and the experience is delightful! The workers are friendly and The concessions have a great amount of choices for all ages! The screen is very large and the chairs are super comfy! They have just recently upgraded the equipment in the past year or so which makes the experience even more incredible! We came with a group of five and we all enjoyed the movie and the whole experience!

Yelp
I live out of town, but have tried to make it to the Oldham once every year or so, because of the nostalgic feel of the old place and of course it's a lot cheaper than the chain theatres. I won't be back again though, thanks for a fine employee named Paula, who appeared to be either the manager or shift manager. To start with, it was cold and while standing in line outside for tickets, I sent my 12 year old inside to scope out concession stand prices, so she could get popcorn and drinks while I stayed outside to buy the tickets. She was sent back outside, because she didn't have a parent with her. I thought it was kinda rude, especially considering the weather, but maybe they've had kids try to sneak into movies or something. I let it slide. Later, while standing in line for popcorn, I noticed the man behind me had a service dog with him. I thought maybe a german shepherd, but my kids say he was too short. I noticed the vest on the dog, labeled "Service Animal". At this point, the lady who sent my daughter outside came up to the man and asked if the dog was a service animal. He said yes. She then told him that if it was really a service animal, then he should have some paperwork to prove it. The man was really offended. He told her that yes he did, but it was illegal for her to make him show it to her. She said he had to. He replied that he would show them to her, but he was going to walk out afterwards and get a refund. He did all of this. - Here's a link to the Americans With Disabilities Act website that states you are not allowed to ask for documentation. https://adata.org/publication/service-animals-booklet - Part V a "Handler's Rights". At this point, I'm pretty amazed that this lady is allowed to have contact with customers. When I work my way up to the concessions, the man in front receives his drinks and steps to the left, so that I can step up and order (it's the south, people are usually considerate like this) I start to order and he asks for straws, to which the lady says something like "they're in the way, they're over there" pointing to my right, where my kids were standing. My kids & I step back (it's the south, people are usually considerate like this) and the man gets his straws. She proceeds to screw up my order and then be all snippy with me like I was such a hassle. XXL Popcorn, 2 drinks and 2 candies, not a difficult order. And we missed the beginning of the movie. Too bad she wouldn't let my daughter order our food. Anyway, I won't be traveling back to the nostalgic theatre until I no longer have to worry about Paula being there. She is there to serve her customers, not to try to put everyone in a bad mood when they are paying her salary. I've been there probably 7 or 8 times and have never had anything like this happen before and I can assure you that it won't happen again.

Yelp
The 2 stars are purely for how neat the location and marquis is in the downtown area. When we visited to see Star Wars, the ticketing staff was less than friendly. We were excited for the movie so we dismissed it and continued to the theatre. The seats are TERRIBLE! It feels like it pushes you forward and you end up looking upwards at the movie screen the whole time and the cushioning is awful. My back was killing me by the time the movie was midway through. We stuck it out for the rest of the show but will definitely travel to neighboring towns in the future for our movie experiences.

Yelp
The only thing going for this theater was the nostalgic feel of it. It is one of the old time theaters where you have a balcony. To make more money, most of the theaters like this actually put a screen in their balcony allowing them to show two features rather than one. The quality of the video is typical of old film projection. Nothing spectacular after going to digital projection shows. Also, the speakers were filled with static and NO SURROUND! This is a travesty. Yes it is only $5 for a matinee and $6 for evening shows but I would pay extra for the complete experience. If you want to be nostalgic, this is a fine theater. If you want a complete movie experience, skip this theater.

Yelp
The man at the concessions counter was super helpful and courteous! I really had a blast!

Yelp
Went here to catch a matinee a few weeks ago. Love the old time feel, ticket prices are definitely very reasonable. About the only downside is making it through the crowd in the lobby sometimes. Well worth it, we'll be back!

Yelp
I've been going to this theater since I was 4. I love this old movie house. It was completely renovated in the early 90s. The owners have kept it it fantastic shape since then. Recently the sound system and projectors have been replaced to go digital. The seats have been replaced to newer cup holder models. Prices have stayed lower than the chains and concessions are very reasonable compared to the chains. With have off refills the last time I was there. It was about $35 dollars for the three of us that's tickets, cokes, candy, and corn. If your interested in keeping a little history alive and having a excellent time this is a fine place to sit and enjoy this local landmark. ps Miranda Lambert shot part of her video Fastest girl in town on the front steps.

Yelp
This theater may be old, but it has a feeling of family and small town. I can have the big theater experience anytime, but I like seeing movies here. We can bring the kids and have snacks without breaking the budget. A travesty is a bus wreck, hungry children, or drive by shootings. Not having surround sound is an inconvenience at worst.
