Excellent steak and all other dishes were top notch. Sister restaurant of Maple Casual Dining. The card machine wasn't working and one waitress was constantly panicking about this very loudly, which somewhat ruined the atmosphere. All the other staff were pretty calm about it and just sorted stuff with cash or bank transfer quite easily.

Probably the best restaurant in Copenhagen. The food and service here were both fantastic - it's a small menu but full of really tempting options. The steak and duck were both excellent, well cooked and well presented. Marco was our waiter and was friendly, attentive, funny, and helpful. He also brought me a mini Danish flag to sit on the table as we went on my birthday, which was both random and lovely 😆 Highly recommended. (And worth booking - which is easy to do online.)

HANNAH, there are no words. Hannah is the nicest, most professional, easiest to interact with personality that my wife and I have had the pleasure in meeting in years, and I mean ten to twenty years! Her inviting demeanour & product knowledge relating to all areas of the restaurant from food to wine to gluten accommodations etc. are truly remarkable. The food @ The Olive Kitchen & Bar is beyond extraordinary, it truly is another “level” of deliciousness! The Beef Carpaccio was divine, the Duck Confit was both extraordinary as well as delicious and the Seared Sea Bass was fall apart delectable! It was truly an amazing dinner through and through. Thank you Hannah once again for being so kind , you are special.

Google
Perfect Dinner in Copenhagen. If you’re in Copenhagen and craving incredible meat, this place is a must. I had the ribs and a steak, and both were spot on – juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, with perfect seasoning, while the steak was seared beautifully on the outside and perfectly done inside. Great service, relaxed vibe, and a menu that really delivers. Can’t recommend it enough. I’d come back in a heartbeat! 😋

Google
Unique dining experience.. Suitable for occasions and celebrations. Delicious food, salad, and wine. The staff was very polite and helpful. The only thing I am not happy with is that they charge for a bottle of still water.

Google
A wonderful spot to dine in Copenhagen! Fantastic service, great food & drink. We had a great conversation with our server. Can’t wait to go back when we are in Copenhagen again. 5 star all the way. Very reasonable prices and a the atmosphere was superb. We had the sea bass and it was perfect! Highly recommended.

Google
A Wonderful Surprise! We came here on the last day of our 3-day vacation and were welcomed by a very kind waiter. The location is lovely. We ordered the steak and the salmon both were absolutely delicious! (I wasn’t a fan of the steak’s sauce, but it wasn’t a problem since it was served on the side. After enjoying these well-presented and tasty dishes, we decided to try a dessert and went for the chocolate cake it was amazing! The prices were in line with Copenhagen’s standards, but it was definitely worth it. Thanks for everything! I hope this review helps you.

Google
We have made a reservation for birthday dinner without knowing the restaurant and I can really only recommend the restaurant. Got for the carpaccio and the peppercorn steak. Have never eaten any steak that tasted so good! Also received a little treat for as it was my birthday. Will definitely come back! Greetings from Berlin!

Yelp
When I say, "I want to eat an amazing meal in Copenhagen, but don't want to spend the hundreds of dollars at one of their Michelin-starred restaurants", this is exactly what I wanted. The ambiance is dimly lit, creating a romantic and intimate atmosphere. I recommend making a reservation, although they do accept walk-ins if space allows. I ordered the Olive's 4 Course Menu, which included the Norwegian Salmon Tartar, Mushroom Soup, Peppercorn Steak and a Crème Brûlée. Everything was perfect: the crème brûlée was delicate and subtly sweet, the steak was cooked to perfection at a requested medium rare temperature, the soup had just the right amount of truffle to make it rich, yet homey, and the salmon tartar was exquisite. I was also able to try the Blue Mussels, and wow *chef's kiss* My last meal in Copenhagen did not disappoint!!!

Yelp
Five stars all around! Came here because all the reviews were good and it did not disappoint. I can confirm that the mushroom soup is a must try! My mom and I both had the panko Parmesan chicken and upgraded to the goat cheese salad and were blown away. The flavors were absolutely amazing and we both cleaned out plates. We walked 1 mile out of our way to check this place out and it was worth every step. Prices were very reasonable compared to other restaurants with lesser quality food. Ambiance and service was very nice. We went late enough that we didn't need a reservation but I would highly suggest you make one.

Yelp
Excellent meal, good service in a charming atmosphere. During my visit, I ordered the four course meal (must do so as a table only) and it was outstanding: Norwegian Salmon Tartar, avocado cream, capers, freshly cut herbs Creamy Mushroom soup, mixed mushroom soup topped with truffle oil Peppercorn Steak, served with garlic mashed potatoes, braised vegetables and peppercorn sauce French Vanilla Creme Brulee I highly recommend RESERVATIONS and a visit while in Copenhagen, can't miss! 5 stars

Yelp
We enjoyed an amazing, world-class food and dining experience at this little gem of a restaurant. We started with a couple of their specialty Drinks: passionate lychee (like a glass of Hawaiian sunshine)and mango lemonade (like sitting on the beach). The menu features a wide variety of artfully crafted choices and we decided to start by sharing the lovely Goat cheese salad which had slices of warmed cheese topping a mixed green salad with dried tomatoes and sunflower seeds-fantastic. For mains I tried the tender and juicy Mustard pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes, slaw and a sweet ratatouille while my wife enjoyed the savory Pepper steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. One of the fun things about travel is the quirky English translations at chef-driven inventive spots like this. The "Self-saucing chocolate biscuit" (aka molten chocolate cake) served with a creamy scoop of ice cream was the perfect finish to our wonderful meal. Note-this place is very popular so advanced reservations are essential-you can't just show up so plan ahead and make sure this place is on your itinerary. Highly recommended Great wines by the glass

Yelp
Wonderful food and service! Portion sizes were good and between the two of us we shared the ribs, creamy mushroom soup, seared salmon entree and chocolate cake. No leftovers, not stuffed, it was just the right amount of food for us. The creamy mushroom soup was absolutely amazing - rich and delicious - my favorite part of the meal. The ribs were also excellent. They were very tender with a nice slightly crispy rub. The salmon was cooked perfectly, not too overdone and the pea purée and sauce were really nice. The accompanying mix of green beans/ broccolini were also nicely cooked. All the food was timed out well and served appropriately hot. The chocolate biscuit and ice cream had nice flavors and weren't too sweet. I didn't care for the consistency of the biscuit or ice cream and would've preferred both to be less runny. I'd definitely recommend Olive Kitchen & Bar and would come back in the future. We made a reservation a few weeks prior to our visit.

Yelp
Went to this on a monday evening without a reservation. I was lucky enough to be seated because my seating wad limited to 90 minutes due to other reservations. By the time I left the place was packed. Service was impeccable. Everyone was friendly and explained each dish. Highly recommend the mushroom soup. Will return next time I'm in copenhagen.

Yelp
Reservations definitely recommended, especially during a holiday period. We saw our fair share of drop-ins being turned away. That said, food at this establishment is daily well prepared. Having been here a few times within a few days during Christmas time, we sampled a cross section of their dishes. My fav was their pistachio crusted Pork with mash potatoes and slaw with honey infused sauce. The flavors all blended together well and was consistently well prepared. Other standouts include the Salmon Tartar and Danish Blue Mussels. Service is attentive and excellent. They also have two other sister restaurants within the city.

Laleh R.

Yelp
the mushroom soup was to die for. it was so good. the reviews were very accurate. I also ordered the pepper steak which was nice. the service was excellent and the waitress was very helpful. the explained each dish very nicely. I'm very glad I went there.

Yelp
Food was fabulous. Best staff felt so comfortable!!!!! Great cocktail list!!! Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Our first night in Copenhagen and we really wanted soup. The mushroom soup here was outstanding! We kept it simple (ate a lot in our last destination) so with the soup we added the cheese plate. Service was perfect, wine was great. Cute spot, wished I was more hungry to enjoy more of the menu!

Yelp
I saw this place had a lot of really great reviews, specifically on trip advisor and it did not disappoint. This restaurant was INSANELY good!! We had the tasting menu, a great choice. Each of the dishes had great flavor (we also did the wine pairing) our favorite part of the tasting menu was the mushroom soup. It was very creamy and had amazing flavor. The service was great and we loved the candlelight dinner. Highly recommended and we will be back

Yelp
Food was excellent, wait staff is very friendly and helpful. I went here 3 times in my short stay in Copenhagen.

Yelp
Great food and service. Highly recommended. Delightful family atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Yelp
Great first family meal in Copenhagen. Unassuming but solid service. Great food. I strongly recommend a reservation because it was pretty full despite being early and a weekday. We brought our well behaved foodie 6 yo (and they didn't seem to mind) but it was mostly couples or adult groups. We ordered two starters, two entrees, and a dessert and that was about right for 2 adults and one kid. I might recommend one extra starter if you're hungry. I thought the mussels starter and the chicken entree were the standouts, but they were all good.

Yelp
Highlight of our Copenhagen trip. Do book ahead, totally worth planning around. Delicious Old Fashioned, mushroom soup and pork tenderloin!! Attentive service and cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
Excellently prepared, and very fresh sea bass. The service is excellent. This restaurant is special.

Yelp
Our second night dinner in Copenhagen was The Olive Kitchen & Bar our dinner from start to finish was excellent. The restaurant is very comfortable, a couple of well appointed dining areas. Arrived for our 8:00 pm reservation and were seated promptly. Lots of good menu choices and we decided on the following: Blue Mussels with white wine, garlic and cream. These were fabulous. Goat cheese and Beet Salad, Goat cheese cream, Beets and Orange Vinaigrette. This was very good but know that the beets are essentially raw unlike the cooked style we would have back home. Peppercorn Flank Steak, Served with sweet potato puree, braised vegetables and rosemary peppercorn sauce. Delicious! Duck Confit, Served with caramel potatoes, red cabbage and cranberry suace. Another excellent entree. French Vanilla Creme Brûlée. More please :) Service was excellent all evening, the wine list was very good and we had some glasses of red with the food. Olive Kitchen & Bar has great food, service and an attractive dining area. Dinner here is also a good value compared to other equivalent restaurants.

Yelp
Such a lovely place with great ambiance and even better food. Our waiter was funny and gave us recommendations of bars nearby. I ordered the duck and it was exquisite.

Yelp
We just had dinner here on 10.11.2021. This review is from Harry Crapo...my boyfriend (I also agree with his review since I have been here twice): This place knows how to make soup...and other stuff!! I've eaten here five times over four trips to Copenhagen. This current trip, I came here hoping to have the same creme of mushroom soup starter I've always had, however, it is no longer on the menu. Much to my surprise, I found something as, if not more, satisfying and delicious; cream of asparagus soup!! Believe it or not...I hate asparagus and trust me...it's amazing! Peppercorn Steak, Parmesan Panko Crusted Chicken, and Duck have all been excellent choices in the past. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Service has always been friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I'd give it more stars than allowed if possible.

Yelp
Didn't have a reservation but tried anyway. They were beyond kinda, we got a table within a few Minutes of arriving. We went for the set 4 course menu. It was divine! Salmon tartare. Mushroom soup with truffle oil, flank steak (the most tender; don't go beyond medium) and the pannacotta. The experience was amazing and the staff were gracious, professional and friendly. Just go - thank me later.

Yelp
Ok it's a tourist trap, but a damn fine one. Theme is comfort food. Starters: superb spare ribs, meaty with good fat balance. Cream of mushroom soup like mom never made; and the tuna tartare with two kinds of onions and avacado cream whicjh makes me want to fly back to CPH for another order. I had the panko Parm chicken served on top of a tangy caper tepanade. On top, perfectly roasted potatoes and a arugula salad. Chicken was super tender and delish! My friend had the flank steak with sweet potato mash. He loved it. Service great; atmosphere basic but cozy and nice with lots of reclaimed wood like you see everywhere in CPH. I like the look. Music was 80s hits which I guess goes with the comfort theme, although chill dinner music would be better. Great experience!

Yelp
Great food, fine cuisine! My husband and I had our wedding dinner at this place on the 31st of May 2019. All of our guests highly recommend this exquisite restaurant. Everyone was fully satisfied and all dishes looked very stunning too! We are grateful for this delicate cuisine, the great atmosphere and specially for the great service. All in all it does deserve more than five stars! P.s the Blue mussels were the best and I could have ordered more than 2 plates, if I wasn't already full!

Yelp
Decent meal at Olive, but nothing as good as I was expecting. I ordered the prix fixe 4-course menu: Norwegian Salmon Tartar with avocado cream, capers and freshly cut herbs. Creamy Mushroom soup made from mixed mushrooms topped with truffle oil. Olive´s Signature Steak tender flank steak served with scalloped potatoes, braised vegetables, and peppercorn sauce. French Vanilla Creme Brulee The salmon was nice in texture. It was fresh. The flavors were not inventive and were a bit too herbaceous. The soup was unctuous and true to the flavor of the mushrooms. The use of truffle oil was a ahamfisted and unnecessary to make a simple soup feel fancier. The steak was well executed, red and juicy. However, it was too heavily seasoned and the saltiness dominated the flavor profile. When mixed with the peppercorn flavors, the seasonings overpowered this dish. At $56, this meal isn't worth it's price.

Yelp
Delicious food & wine in a rustic atmosphere. On our visit (Oct. '19), we started with the salmon tartare, which was dynamite. I had the panko parmesan chicken which was also very good, though the accompanying arugula salad was a bit heavy on the onion for my tastes (especially following the tartare). My wife couldn't stop raving about the seasonal risotto, and the self-saucing chocolate dessert was the exclamation point on a very fine meal. Friendly service, though be sure to confirm your email reservation, or the host may give you a touch of attitude about that. Apart from starting our visit on that note, I'd definitely return and recommend.

Yelp
Great service and food is really awesome. Waitress is so nice and explains menu in details. Food is really good. I had asparagus soup with truffle oil and steak. Both amazing.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight - everything was delicious and the service was fantastic! We so loved the mushroom soup split, the mussels and the most amazing salmon! We were too stuffed to eat dessert but heard they were awesome!

Yelp
One word. AMAZING. Everything from the ease of making a reservation to getting seated promptly at the time of my reservation to the lovely 4-course meal that is the Olive's Menu to the friendly and welcoming staff. The salmon tartare was so light and fresh. The wild mushroom soup with truffle oil was so simple yet flavorful. The steak was perfect! The Malbec paired very well with it. The Baileys creme brûlée so light and yummy. This was one of the highlights of my weekend trip to Copenhagen. I will definitely come back to The Olive Kitchen & Bar.

Lou S.

Yelp
The mushroom soup was wonderful. The risotto dish I had was de-lish. My husband needs to eat gluten-free, and our waiter, Lukas was very knowledgeable about the menu's GF options. He was also really attentive to his needs. The manager came to our table during our meal and checked to make sure our experience was great. It was. We all thought that this was our best dining experience in Copenhagen.

Yelp
Had a few different reservations around the city but wanted something with a bit more variety on the menu, and stumbled upon The Olive Kitchen & Bar on TripAdvisor. Was very easy to make an online reservation for 730 on a Sunday. This gem has only been open 5 weeks- but will definitely be a success! The ambiance is very cute- the place only seats about 50 people- and the staff is extremely friendly and will provide you with in-depth descriptions of your order. Also, the presentation of the food is fantastic across the board. Our food breakdown: 2 Steak Orders: YUM! The steak was a good portion size but not too much and came with delicious veggies (roasted carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, lettuce) and potatoes au gratin- the Parmesan was sprinkled on top. Salmon: Very good portion size. The Norwegian salmon comes on a bed of spinach and quinoa which was very good and helped make the whole meal very filling. Duck: YUM. 3rd duck dish of the trip and it was the crowd favorite. Also came with cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. Overall this place was such a great find. Not too expensive at all (appetizers at 85 DKK / entrees at 165 DKK) and it was well worth it. I'd come back!

Yelp
5 stars is just not enough. We were greeted and explained the dining details. You are on a time limit throughout your dining experience, BUT, its not rushed in the least bit and we didn't even take the entire allotted time slot. We started with a bottle of the Granfort red, very nice and smooth (i believe it was a house selection). We then shared the tuna avocado tower (i dont remember the name)...it was insanely tasty. Then moved on to share an order of the ribs. We were given black gloves to eat them with and were explained by the server, who was very knowledgeable about the food, of the traditional reason for eating the ribs with gloves on. My wife ordered a chicken dish that had a greens tower on top of it...presentation was immaculate, taste was even better. We then did the chocolate lava cake to finish the meal and it was just the icing to the cake. Overall, incredible experience, amazing food, artful presentation and great service.

Yelp
Great food and service, great server - Seemed mostly used by tourists like us - we ate mostly true Danish while we were there, and this was comparable - but wonderful. A bit rustic but modern interior. Left very happy. Considered a trendier part of town, saw numerous students in the area. Our server, [will add later], was exceptional, very personal and versed in multiple languages.

Yelp
My wife and I ate here and had a great meal. The staff was very attentive and the food excellent. We booked ahead for a table, and I had the four course meal of salmon tartare, substituted the baked goat cheese for mushroom soup, the steak, and Creme brûlée. My wife shared with me and had the Parmesan chicken. All the food was great, and the cocktails and wine were also a good match in a small inviting atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.

Yelp
Ate here on a Sunday night in July, part of a group of four couples traveling together, and staying at the nearby SKT Petri. Our reservation honored and a nice table provided. Our server managed the balance between friendly and professional perfectly, and the meal had that European pace. I began with an Olive Martini, and I suggest that you do not skip this one. We also had wine by the bottle. I would also recommend the Copenhagen Ribs as a starter. They were falling off the bone tender, although not true barbecue, I would guess a braise and finished on the grill. I had a sort of crab salad appetizer that isn't on the online menu, I guess it was a special. It was a nice portion of solid seafood, but not as savory as those ribs. Others in our group had their signature truffle mushroom soup, which you will smell as you enter the restaurant, and were pleased. For a main course, I had Olive's Signature Steak. This comprised two slices of reasonably tender flank steak with a tasty peppercorn sauce. I thought the portion somewhat small - would have preferred to pay a bit more for a bit more beef. The diamond on the plate was the small square of scalloped potatoes, one of the better gratins in memory, My wife enjoyed her pan seared salmon, but it wasn't anything exceptional. The pork tenderloin also drew favorable mention. To me this is a solid restaurant with good service and honest prices, but I didn't have the sort of experience that other reviewers raved about. If you are staying at the SKT Petri, it is certainly a great option.

Yelp
After a long day of walking, entering the Olive was a welcome change for our weary legs. We sat down, and immediately ordered off the slightly pricy menu. However, this price turned out to be completely worth it, as they sent in two breathtaking starters: the local cod, and some Copenhagen ribs. The waitress ave us explanations for the food, and we happily munched on the food. Then, the main course was brought out. I had ordered a flank steak and to my delight it was cooked beautifully and upon first bite, the 7 spice sauce and steak harmonized perfectly. I quickly devoured the rest of the plate. Thank you Olive, for making a wonderful dinner.

Yelp
A perfect spot for a delightful meal and wine. We were visiting from the US and this highly rated restaurant happened to be right down the street from our Air BnB. They were very accommodating and hospitable and served unbelievable food and drink in a warm atmosphere. Highly recommended Thanks!!

Yelp
Fantastic pick in Copenhagen. Ambiance is very cozy and warm. Food is amazing and consistent. Service is great too. Only downside is the size. It is small and reservations are typically needed.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful meal and experience. Loved the passion fruit cocktail, Norwegian salmon tartare, duck confit (best I've had in many years - crispy skin yet not at all dry!), and a sinful chocolate melting dessert. Our server was great as well - Cedric, I think was his name. Loved it and will recommend to anyone dining in Copenhagen!

Yelp
After reading amazing reviews on Yelp and other social media sites I decided to visit this restaurant for dinner with a friend visiting. We both went there with high expectations as the reviews were clearly positive. We booked a table for 19:45... After arriving and checking the menu it didn't take us more then 4-5 minutes to chose our food. We decided to try the 4-dish signature menu (changed the salmon tartar for beef carpaccio). First dish arrived almost half hour later, at that time we started being a bit impatient as it took that long but hey it can happen, right? Still, putting a few slices of beef carpaccio on a plate with some rocket salad, drizzle with some truffle oil and sprinkle with red pepper and parmesan shouldn't take that long... After eating the first starter we had to wait at least 15 minutes for them to collect the plates (way to long). After that we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for the second starter (crab meat stuffed mushrooms) and again we said hey it can happen, right ? But the worst thing was that after eating the second starter it took an HOUR to bring the main course (at that time we had been checking the time to make sure we were not exaggerating with being annoyed/ impatient). The only dish that actually arrived in good time was the dessert (it took around 10 minutes). In my experience when you go to a good restaurant and you choose a signature menu it take max. 2 hours to have the entire meal served. The food was really good, but the amount of time it took to be served was way to long. The problem was that they haven't even acknowledged that it was taking that long time... My patience was really questioned during that visit. The 3 stars are only for the quality of food as the service was way too slow. They were either missing and extra waiter or short on staff in the kitchen. I really hope this was only a one-time thing.

Yelp
Booked the Olive's four course menu for Valentines Day 2017; Salmon tartare, mushrooms with crabmeat, flank steak and vanilla creme brûlée. The restaurant offered a really cozy and romantic atmosphere. Light dimmed, low music, and it felt private even though the restaurant was full. The waitress was very friendly, competent, relaxed and funny. Really positive experience! Another plus was that they were flexible when we asked to exchange our dessert for the lava cake - delicious experience!
google avatar

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant, our server, the food, everything was flawless. I enjoyed every bite of our meal, but I won't forget the asparagus risotto. That risotto was probably one of the best ones I've ever had.

Yelp
nice place, fabulous food and very kind services. I booked from website but I got the time wrong (a week later). the waiter was very helpful and kindly arranged our table. the ribs were just perfect and so was the steak. The waitress lady treated us nicely. very good experience here.

Yelp
Very friendly services, waiter Antonio truly show his sincerity & efforts to make our dinner a remarkable experience. Both our appetizer & steak are finger-licking delicious! A 4 course dinner costs me DK350, relatively reasonable priced. Moreover when I want to pay the bill with Euro, they happily accept my request & use a very favorable rate to settle it. They truly show the top notch attitude for a wonderful restaurant!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Copenhagen! Fantastic service, high quality food and a great atmosphere!

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a 60th birthday. The place is just south of Nørreport, and is quite cozy. As it was a birthday celebration, the staff made it a bit more special, which really made the experience go all the way up to 11. Thanx to all. Special thanx to the extremely nice waitress Ada (she definetly deserves a raise). The food; well, it was just what the doctor ordered. Perfect mushroom soup (whitch is a must if you visit), tender steak, and a mouth watering lava cake...

Yelp
We didn't have a reservation but Will was kind enough to squeeze us in. The food was fantastic, we had salmon with quinoa, pork with Apple mashed potatoes and cheesy pumpkin risotto. Casual and nice, relaxed atmosphere and noise level. Right around the corner from our hotel Skt Petri. So happy to have dined here.

Tony M.

Yelp
Our favourite meal of the trip Really enjoyed our meal here.About 10 mins walk from the Round Tower but still in the city centre ( just). Enthusiastic explanation of each dish's ingredients was top notch.Extremely friendly service & ( for pricey Copenhagen ) excellent value for money.Obviously very popular with locals & tourists alike. My wife had a lovely goats cheese salad & pork tenderloin & I had very tasty blue mussels with the best white wine based sauce ever ,followed by Parmesan chicken. All washed fine with a reasonably priced Malbec. We also shared a good cheeseboard. A very warm welcome & goodbye. They know what good hospitality means.

Alan D.

Yelp
Tells me reservations only. Only saw 4 out of 20 tables seated. I don't see anywhere where is states reservations only. Don't waste your time walking in the rain 20 minutes to get here. The most frustrating part was how the staff looked at my wife and I in disgust as if they have prejudice against interracial couples. Shame
