Ate here on a Sunday night in July, part of a group of four couples traveling together, and staying at the nearby SKT Petri. Our reservation honored and a nice table provided. Our server managed the balance between friendly and professional perfectly, and the meal had that European pace.
I began with an Olive Martini, and I suggest that you do not skip this one. We also had wine by the bottle.
I would also recommend the Copenhagen Ribs as a starter. They were falling off the bone tender, although not true barbecue, I would guess a braise and finished on the grill. I had a sort of crab salad appetizer that isn't on the online menu, I guess it was a special. It was a nice portion of solid seafood, but not as savory as those ribs. Others in our group had their signature truffle mushroom soup, which you will smell as you enter the restaurant, and were pleased.
For a main course, I had Olive's Signature Steak. This comprised two slices of reasonably tender flank steak with a tasty peppercorn sauce. I thought the portion somewhat small - would have preferred to pay a bit more for a bit more beef. The diamond on the plate was the small square of scalloped potatoes, one of the better gratins in memory, My wife enjoyed her pan seared salmon, but it wasn't anything exceptional. The pork tenderloin also drew favorable mention.
To me this is a solid restaurant with good service and honest prices, but I didn't have the sort of experience that other reviewers raved about. If you are staying at the SKT Petri, it is certainly a great option.
