Visited in late August when the weather was very warm. The hotel is tucked away in a quiet corner off Nanjing Road West, so it feels calm while still being pretty convenient. Taikoo Hui mall and the West Nanjing Road subway station are just a 5–10 minute walk, and you can reach the start of East Nanjing Road’s walking street in about 15–20 minutes. There’s even a 7-11 right outside plus a few small local restaurants.
The room we had (for two adults) was a decent size and came with a kitchenette, dining table, and a separate bedroom area that you could close off with a sliding door — nice for a bit of privacy. That said, the décor felt a little dated, and the AC could only be set down to 24°C, which wasn’t ideal given the summer heat.
Overall, this was my first time back in Shanghai in over a decade, and while I personally think there are livelier areas to stay in, I was still pretty happy (good value) with our stay here.
