THE ONE Executive Suites managed by Kempinski - Shanghai

The hotel’s location is very good. It is about a 5-minute walk to a huge Starbucks, Nanjing West Road, the MRT station, and Wujiang Road, which has several nice bakeries and food options. This made getting around very convenient. There was also a 7-11 just across the road.However, the Premier Two-Bedroom Suite was disappointing for the price paid. The rooms are rather small, especially the master bedroom, where there was not enough space to place or open any luggage. We had to keep our luggage in the living room instead.The bathroom, particularly the shower area, looked very dated. The tiles appeared old and there was a musty smell, which was unpleasant. Another inconvenience was that the light switches were only on one side of the bed, making it very inconvenient to switch off the lights from the other side.The kitchenette was also very small. Cutlery was stored in a drawer above the bin, which was not ideal, and there were no extra plates provided. The tiles looked old with visible cracks, and some of the drawers were faulty. Overall, the room did not feel premium and felt overpriced for what was offered. The hotel rooms clearly need a glow-up to match the Kempinski brand and the rates charged.Additionally, the reception area was undergoing renovation, with no seating or waiting area. The pick-up and drop-off driveway is very narrow, only a small lane. When loading our luggage, we had to do so very quickly as other cars were waiting. The driveway would benefit from being more spacious.While the location is excellent, the room condition, layout, and facilities did not meet expectations for a Premier suite.

We got 2 very spacious deluxe suites at an attractive rate for the four of us.Eventhough the rooms look dated but they are comfy nevertheless. The only issue is the bathroom shower area which does not drain well hence causing flooding in the whole bathroom..I think its the design of the shower floor trap tile that needs to change as the current makeshift tile cover only blocks the flow of water.They can always replace it with a proper floor trap tile which drains.Housekeeping need to give attention to the towels provided as eye lashes of old guests are found on one of the "new" towers(see pix).Also toilet amenities are not consistently replaced.Still,this is a nice & value for money premium hotel to stay for families due to its relatively quiet neighbourhood plus its within walking distance to the shopping district of Ch'ng An

Very good location. Central to many places. Very convenient to buy Taobao and dianping as it’ll be placed in the lobby or delivered to your room. Only problem was that the baby cot was TOO low and very difficult to put baby in to sleep. Service by Lily and Simon was prompt and helpful. Provided great help during my stay with my family. Service was overall very pleasant and room keeping very prompt. Will recommend this place for families and all to stay.

Honestly it’s pretty nice, theres a 7-11 right outside but it’s not open 24 hours and closes after 10pm, the gym is really great it’s the best gym I’ve ever trained at in a hotel. Their breakfast is OK, eggs and seasonal fruits and types of breads and other stuff your typical breakfast although didn’t really see gluten-free options if it matters to you, it wasn’t a problem for us and theres also free soft drinks in the fridge and 1 beer in the fridge which I don’t think is ideal considering someone might be travelling with teens or kids? Idk, the room was spacious and the shower was amazing and theres a spa too but you’d have to reserve it beforehand, the location is really good it was easy for us to walk to almost everything but if you’re not used to walking don’t pick this location.

We chose this hotel mainly for its excellent location as well as it's apartment set-up which is suitable for a group of girls travelling together — it’s close to everything we needed, which made getting around very convenient.||However, there were several aspects of our stay that fell short of what we would typically expect from a Kempinski-branded property. The two-bedroom apartment felt somewhat dated and could benefit from refurbishment. Upon check-in, only two sets of towels were provided for four guests, and we had to request additional ones from housekeeping. There were also no hooks for hanging towels in the bathroom, which was a minor inconvenience.||For an apartment setup, we expected basic kitchen amenities such as cutlery, plates, and drinking or wine glasses, but none were provided. The shower area in the bathroom also lacked a ledge or shelf to place toiletries, despite there being sufficient space for one. Additionally, the bathroom doors did not have locks, which was unusual for a property of this standard.||It would have been more comfortable if there were two hairdryers (one in each bedroom) and additional dustbins, particularly in the kitchen area. Although there was a sink in the pantry, no dishwashing detergent was provided, which would have been a thoughtful inclusion.||We also encountered a minor issue during check-in — one of the reception staff was not particularly helpful when we requested to have our luggage sent up from the concierge. Only part of our luggage was initially brought up, and we had to follow up again for the remaining bags. As the bags were tagged together, it was puzzling why some were left behind. While the matter was eventually resolved, it did leave a less-than-ideal first impression.||Although the rooms were generally clean, we occasionally noticed a smell of cigarette smoke at certain times of the day. We couldn’t determine where it was coming from, but it did affect our comfort slightly.||Overall, while the location is excellent, the apartment and service could benefit from greater attention to detail and upkeep. For a Kempinski property, we had expected a higher level of comfort, consistency, and hospitality.

Strategic location. Not far from the crowded East Nanjing Road yet in a quiet area. There are two mrt lines nearby. Line 2 and 13. Convenient starting point to explore Shanghai by mrt. Nearest mall is Tai Koo Hui. Less than 10 minutes walk away. Shout out to exceptional front desk personnel Brian Shen and Zoe Xu. They are very helpful in giving information. Especially Brian Shen who goes out of his way to help me with package issue. Really appreciate it.

Great stay at Kempinski Hotel Shanghai. The location is very convenient, close to shopping, restaurants, and transport, which made getting around the city easy. The hotel is elegant and comfortable, with clean, spacious rooms and a calm atmosphere. Staff were professional and helpful, and everything felt well organized. A reliable, high-quality choice for both business and leisure stays.

First time staying at Kempinski hotels. Had imagined to be on a more luxurious hotel. Kempinski The One can improve on their property finishing to make it more feel like staying in luxurious hotels. The room we stayed in had smoke sensors covered in plastic and that should be illegal practice. Apart from that, mirror already had internal stain & walls are chips.Staff on the other hand were welcoming but can also be improvised to make guests feel welcomed and look after as VIP. Staff should proactively approach guests in lobby and ask if there is anything they could assist/not just standing behind desk waiting to be asked.
