The 6 Best Hostels in Hanoi (Updated 2025)

"I found this lively, energetic hostel always buzzing with events — live music and DJ nights happen every single night — and it has a rooftop pool, bar, and restaurant. I liked that they give you a bracelet at check-in so you can charge food and drinks to your room, and that things shut down at midnight so you can still balance partying and sleeping. The dorms are spacious with individual fans, curtains, USB chargers, comfy mattresses, and top bunks with angled ladders that make access easy; there are female-only dorms too. Showers have weak water pressure but everything is clean, breakfast is a tasty free meal with veg options, and the volunteer staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome." - Matthew Kepnes

I'd definitely recommend this hostel to people who wants to socialize and have fun. They have lots of fun activities everyday. Rooms were really good and bathrooms were clean, bed was very comfortable to sleep. They have a private locker in the room to keep your personal stuff. This is located in a city center and you can easily walk around and visit places People can also book tours to ha Long bay, ninh binh at the hostel.

We were robbed in this hostel and staff let them go – please be cautious Around 3am, my friend woke up to someone taking her bag from beside her bed. She got up and found a man (around 50 years old) in our dorm holding her wallet, with her cards and cash. She confronted him and got it back as he tried to leave the room. Another guest ran to reception for help and we followed to tell staff what happened. Despite reception being informed immediately - and being shown a video of him with the stolen items - reception ignored us. The man asked to check out, and within seconds they gave his deposit back and let him leave without any questions, concerns, or attempt to verify the situation. After this, another girl in our room realized her valuables were missing. When she asked reception to contact the police, they refused. What’s worrying is that this hostel requires passports as deposits, yet staff told us he didn’t give his over. This man checked in with no luggage and was placed in a room with all young mostly female / 20-year-old travelers. There should have been more concern from staff when checking him in. Throughout the entire situation, the night staff were dismissive and showed no concern for guest safety. There was no apology and no report made, mostly just frustration as if we were inconveniencing them. At no point did anyone check if we were okay after being robbed in our sleep. A manager finally arrived around 10am - seven hours after the incident. They did apologise and took the girl whose items were stolen to the police, which we appreciated. However, this does not excuse how the night staff handled the situation, how they ignored us, let the man walk out immediately, and offered absolutely no support at the time when it mattered. Aside from the incident itself, the rooms were also very noisy from about 12–2am which on the website it says noise stops at 12. The bathrooms were very dirty, and although the beds have curtains, several of ours were missing on one side, so let in a lot of light. For a well-known hostel, this was extremely disappointing and made us feel unsafe. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend staying here and strongly urge others to be cautious.

Policy of keeping the passport as security deposit is worst policy so far. If you don’t trust fellow traveller’s then make it Pay first to order for all your services. If passport is lost or robbed who is responsible? All passports are kept at reception drawer. Anyone can access it. They dont even give a receipt of acknowledgement that passport is with them. Rest of things are good. Good staff, Rooms are bit small, free drinking water. Breakfast. Good place to hangout. Once you change your policy I will update my ratings. Thanks

My staying in this hostel was extremely pleasant. I travelled in Vietnam for two weeks and every time I had to comeback to Hanoi, this is the only hostel I wanted to comeback to. It's one of the cleanest and nicest in the area, the rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, the common food/bar area at the ground floor offers good food and coffee and a ton of services (from travel agency to nails and massage), the rooftop bar and pool are simply so nice. However, what really made the difference were the people working there. They organize so many cute activties and their energy is so positive and welcoming, especially Elina, Chau and Kiryl, that were always ready to help with a smile, and made me feel at home <3 I will miss you so much!!

One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed in. Beds are comfy, everything is super clean, all the staff are really friendly, has a pool, rooftop bar, a really good food menu in the main restaurant area. We used the laundry service here and our whites have never been whiter - highly recommend doing a white wash here (40k per kg). So happy with how all of our laundry came out!! Highly recommend!

The room was spacious, and the bed was super comfy. The people here are amazing, and the hostel offers lots of activities to meet fellow travelers, so it’s easy to make friends from around the world! It's my first time traveling alone, and this was a great choice 😌 The volunteers are also incredible, especially Irish and Kiryl as they went out of their way to make me (and everyone) feel comfortable and welcome. They genuinely get along with everyone and create such a warm, fun atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place with a great vibe, comfy rooms, and tons of opportunities to meet new people, this hostel is it!

Great hostel. modern, clean, massive, and serving surprisingly good food. but the real highlight is the staff, especially Duc Anh behind the bar, who genuinely made my stay. He’s warm, welcoming, keeps the atmosphere fun, and clearly cares about making guests feel at home. He honestly elevated the whole experience. X
