If you love asian cuisine and like it authentic this is the place to go. The portions are huge and 1 plate of food is 20 bucks and can feed like 3-4 people! Everything I tried was great, kung pao chicken noodles, green onion pancake, beef eggrolls. All of it I enjoyed. If youre going to order any slush, just a heads up its huge, and you would need help finishing it, and for the price its a great deal. The staff is multilingual (mandarin), and very polite. And if you dont like asian cuisine, you will after visiting! I highly recommend this place!!!

Bad experience. If you want more garlic for the sauce they charge $1. As a person who has studied Food & Beverage Cost Control a restaurant should not be operating this way. The garlic pork belly dish is not even authentic, who uses oyster sauce as a sauce base for garlic pork belly? Haven’t even mentioned the beef noodles yet. It’s horrible, no flavour at all and the meat is not fresh and tastes frozen. Definitely not recommending to anyone. Kinda tried to finish the food hoping not to waste food. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants in Van and this is probably the worst experience I’ve ever had in Vancouver. Edit: the owner keeps saying ‘there’s no such thing as free lunch’. Customers literally pay you, and your food is already more expensive than other places, yet other places are able to offer free condiments. It’s funny

I recently decided to visit this place after driving by and feeling intrigued enough to give it a try. However, my experience turned out to be quite disappointing. Upon arrival, I noticed that the lineup system was poorly managed. There was no one taking names, so everyone was left standing and waiting at the door, unsure of when they would be seated. This lack of organization was frustrating and set a negative tone for the rest of our visit. When we finally got seated and ordered our food, the disappointment continued. The dishes we ordered were very bland and lacked any distinctive flavors. They did not live up to the standard of authentic Taiwanese cuisine, which was a significant letdown. For the quality of food served, the prices were unreasonably high, making the experience feel like poor value for money. On a positive note, the service was good. The staff were friendly and attentive, which is the only reason I decided to give this place three stars. Despite the decent service, the overall experience was not enough to warrant a return visit. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

We had the Deep Fried Tofu with Three Spices and Eggplants with Ground Pork Sauce, both delicious

The One Restaurant in Kingsway, Burnaby, is truly a standout culinary gem that has earned its reputation for being one of the most beloved dining spots in the area. It’s no wonder there’s always a line out the door — people flock here because of its exceptional food, warm atmosphere, and stellar service. One of the reasons The One Restaurant is so famous is its diverse and mouthwatering food and drinks. I recommend the chicken skin, deep fried tentacles, fried pork chop, seafood noodles, kimchi rice/fried rice, beef noodles, and so much more, every dish is crafted with care and authenticity. Their drinks menu is equally impressive, with refreshing bubble tea, cocktails, craft beers, and other beverages that perfectly complement their food. The staff at The One Restaurant are incredibly welcoming and attentive, making every guest feel like part of the family. The friendly smiles and quick service create a warm, inviting atmosphere that keeps patrons returning time and again. It’s a place where you feel genuinely appreciated the moment you step in. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, especially during weekends and busy days when the restaurant is bustling with hungry customers. But honestly, it’s a small price to pay for the fantastic experience that awaits inside. The trendy, eye-catching design and modern layout of the restaurant add to its charm — with stylish decor, cozy lighting, and an inviting ambiance that makes dining here feel special. I highly recommend The One Restaurant to everyone looking for a memorable meal in Burnaby. Whether you’re a food lover eager to try innovative Korean dishes or just someone seeking a lively, friendly place to enjoy great food and drinks, this spot is a must-visit. Trust me, once you experience it, you’ll understand why it’s so popular!

Google
Amazing service! The atmosphere is busy but nicely designed and clean. Everyone who worked there went above and beyond to answer our questions and make our experience extra special and comfortable. The portions are very large for what you pay for and everything tasted delicious. Definitely get a bubble tea and try the chicken nuggets appetizer. I look forward to coming back to try the rest of the large menu. It Would be nice to have more pictures on the menu to make it easier to decide what to order, but overall a fantastic experience.

Spicy noodles and beef flank is generously portioned and soooo good. I come here every time I’m In town. Got a pineapple slush that was as opulent as it was tasty

Yelp
The One is a unique spot that has a special place in my heart. It's perfect for a family-style gathering for a large group, with a solid menu that has all the Taiwanese classics that we know and love. One criticism overall is the saltiness of pretty much all the food and the sweetness of pretty much all the drinks (even at quarter sweetness it can be sickening), but it is filling and homey at a decent price. Favorites: Taiwanese popcorn chicken, chili oil wontons, fried rice, stir fried noodles, any slush (you can't miss it, they're huge!)

Yelp
Went in with a group of 12 last night and luckily we were able to get a large table. This restaurant has an extensive menu and the prices are affordable and large portions as well. We ordered multiple dishes to share family style. My favourite dishes were the Taiwanese chicken nuggets, Taiwanese sausage and the fried rice with both items, and the beef pancake rolls. I also got a drink, I got the green milk tea with grass jelly which was pretty good but so filling. My friends got the slush and it was huge! Overall, it came to $27 per person for alot of food and we had a great time.

Yelp
Hadn't been to this restaurant in ages. Couldn't even remember the last time I'd been here. It was definitely prepandemic. We used to love coming here for the Taiwanese Chicken Nugget Fried Rice dish, and their incredibly tall slush drinks. Came here for a family dinner. We ordered that same fried rice dish, several noodle dishes, some appetizers, a sweet and sour fish, a passionfruit slush and a hot grass jelly. Honestly, the meal was a bit disappointing. The noodle dishes were all very similar. Same type of noodle and sauce used for each one. They just switched out the toppings but basically the noodle dishes tasted very similar to each other. I was very disappointed in the Vegetable Fried Noodle dish. The just put some bok choy into the noodle and I was really hoping for a wider variety of vegetables to be used in this dish. They didn't even put very much of the bok choy in, so it was a very carbohydrate heavy noodle dish. My husband said that he had tried better fried squid and taiwanese chicken nuggets at a different restaurant recently, so the ones they served here at The One were less than stellar. The Passionfruit slush would be the redeeming item for this meal. I think we might only ever come to this restaurant for dessert from now on.

Yelp
Good price, big portion, friendly staff, and awesome place. I like the ambience, it's just like in Yakuza games.

Yelp
The One restaurant is a comfort food place for me, Taiwanese style food. I have my few favourites here, service here is great, food comes out hot and good presentation, the restaurant ambience is bright inside when majority is day light lighting from the big windows, the decoration is unique, modern style.

Yelp
This is located next to myst Asian fusion on kingsway. Menu is small, not alot of variety. Food was average. The place itself is small, and a bit run down. With myst next door, hey need to step up their game.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends late at night and it was very busy! We had a great time sharing various food and desserts. They have giant slushies here and they were yummy!! I enjoyed my tofu dessert with taro. Very smooth and not too sweet. I like how they have big portions here and food came fairly fast.

Yelp
One big ONE... It has been quite awhile since I was last here . I believe most people come here for one reason and one reason only.... BIG portions and MASSIVE BBT slushes. BUT they were one of the first to do it and did it quite well back then. This place is conveniently located in the little plaza on Kingsway and Buller Ave in Burnaby. There is free parking in the plaza or street parking is available too. Inside is quite spacious with both tables and booth seats, a very 90's BBT cafe vibe and look. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Logan ginger tea. A very weak logan ginger taste, didn't go too well with my taste buds. 2. Peanut almond black tea added grass jelly. Huge size as always and it was okay. 3. Deep fried fish cakes. They were big slices and generous portions but I preferred the thinner sliced ones because I find it tastier when the light crisp outside and the tenderness of the inside are more balanced. 4. Wonton soup. Taiwanese style, it was okay. I personally prefer the Cantonese version more. 5. Hawaiian fried rice. It was of generous portion, the pineapples were fresh and sweet but it's missing that "wok hay". Overall, this is a popular younger crowd hang out for their well known large portions of both drinks and food. If you prefer quantity over quality and affordable eat out then this casual place will most likely suit you. The service here was okay, quite friendly and prompt. Nothing to boast or complain about. The food like I said were of large shareable portions. Taste wise, everything was okay except for the ginger drink. Nevertheless, every dishes here were one BIG ONE...

Yelp
This place has been around for ages! The bbt is stacked high and the portions are large. Everyone knows to order the chicken nugget fried rice. The beef curry is my favourite but I have yet to taste a dish that's not exceptional from here. I'm so glad the price is still so reasonable I hope that doesn't change! Large group seatings too which is nice.

Yelp
This place is pretty top tier in terms of quality and taste. Ordered the infamous salty peppery chicken nugget set. Chicken was perfectly cooked and season as expected. If you haven't had Taiwanese style chicken nuggets, you're missing out on life! Side dishes were just ok but I can't expect much since they're just sides. Ordered the honey milk tea with grass jelly and I'd say they do it just the way I like it. You can really taste that honey throughout the milk tea. Looking back as previous reviews regarding service, I can tell they've improved a lot on that front. Our server checked on us a couple times and was very friendly. This on a Friday night btw. It's definitely one of my top go to places for salty peppery chicken nuggets and honey milk tea. Would have given it 5 stars but you can get the same thing at bubble world for about $5 less.

Yelp
Food was great always. Visit countless time. Always busy but attentive. Music level was good and a lot space to move around. If you like singing, they are right next door.

Yelp
I used to love the chicken nuggets and fried rice, but this is bow my go to. Inflation is crazy, so this is still a super yummy alternative and I may actually like it better. Crispy and little chewy chicken skin and rice. So simple. You have the best part of fried chicken, no buffer :) That with My sky high pineapple coconut slush is amazing. I do have to say though, not too impressed that they charge for hot sauce, a bag, a take out container..Basically ally everything. But I guess at this moment , it balances out the food for now

Yelp
Went back recently for the nostalgia factor and it did not disappoint! As always, a must order is the chicken nugget fried rice, loads of Taiwanese popcorn chicken and green onions in egg fried rice is perfection! Ordered the beef rolls as well and was pleasantly surprised from the taste but also the size, they were gigantic! Wish i took some pictures but i was super hungry that day! Will definitely come back.

Yelp
It's a good place for family shared meal. The portions are big and the AC is really good. Yes, we came during the heat wave for the AC. They have quite a big menu. It took us some time to decide what we want to eat. We ordered the Taiwanese chicken nuggets fried rice and the dish came out in 5 mins! Their meal service is faster than McDonald's. The food is not bad and we couldn't finish among the two of us.

Yelp
I came here 2 years ago and returned recently. The service and food quality was just average this time. Good selection of fried rice and noodles. We had their specialty deep fried chicken nuggets in fried rice which we found meh. A couple of us didn't feel too good after eating the seafood noodles as the seafood wasn't cooked enough. The slush drinks were more interesting than the food.

Yelp
I found a spider cooked inside my food! I recently had a very disappointing and concerning experience on. I ordered an egg roll and a tofu meal set. As I was eating and placing my tofu and egg roll in my bowl of rice, I found a small spider in my bowl. Unsure if I was seeing things, I asked the server to confirm, and she verified it was indeed a bug. Instead of apologizing, she nonchalantly asked if I wanted another bowl of rice. I declined. Upon further inspection, we noticed small towel fibers all over the egg roll. When we went to pay, the server still expected us to pay for the egg roll. She claimed that finding bugs is normal because the vegetables are organic. I pointed out that I don't encounter bugs at other places that serve organic food, such as the Whole Foods hot bar. I expressed how unacceptable and disgusting this situation was, but the server argued that it was normal and insisted we had to pay. When I asked to speak with the owner, she initially said the owner was in the back cooking, then changed her story to say the owner wasn't present. I am baffled and appalled by how this situation was handled. Finding a spider in the food and fibers on the egg roll seems acceptable at this restaurant, which is alarming. Most restaurants would apologize and cover the entire bill or offer some form of compensation. This experience was extremely unpleasant, and it reflects poorly on the standards and customer service of this place. I won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Yelp
I love coming to this place since forever. I would eat in or take out from them a lot and I think the food and prices are pretty good! Interesting their menu has a lot of .88 price because 8 is a lucky number. They also have a nice parking space at the front. If you come here, you gotta get the chicken nugget fried rice! That's a staple. Almost every table there gets that dish because it's delicious and good price. I like it when they put the fried basil leaf with the rice and the chicken nugget is still crispy and mixed into the fried rice it's so tasty. I also recommend their deep fried squid tentacles! It reminds me of having the same thing from the night market. Super crunchy and fried with the basil leaves, it's my favourite. Lastly the berry slush is huge! That is their thing here... since forever they made slush go as tall as another cup so you basically have 2 portions of slush for the price of one! What a good deal!

Yelp
THE ONE RESTAURANT, the place to be....for Bubble Tea Drinks! XD I apologize that my drink image is out of focus, wished I took a couple more pictures. I ordered the Fresh Taro Green Tea. This drink is SO GOOD! So far the best Fresh Taro I have tried in Burnaby that I can recall. There is an alternative have it with Black Tea in case One was looking for a stronger taste. The Green Tea is supposedly for a calmer lighter tea. They have black plastic shields for each table for covid19 safety. They do take all forms of payments at the front counter upon paying. Cash/debit/visa/mastercard. I spoke to one of the servers and advised them the website has the incorrect hours or not up-to-date, and they seem they are aware of this, not sure why they have not made the business hours to be reflective because of Covid19 these trying times. There are no physical menus I saw. They have a table stand with a barcode to scan on your mobile devices.

Yelp
Comfort food and large portions. We had the sliced beef in pancake. It was crisp on the outside, but a bit too doughy on the inside. Deep fried chicken nugget fried rice was something that was ordered at almost every table around us. It's a pretty large portion. I think I'd prefer to have the chicken nuggets on the side so it stays more crisp rather than mixed into the fried rice. Maybe this is something I can ask about next time. This was the first time I've ordered the beef noodle soup from here and was pleasantly surprised. The broth had a good savoury flavour, plenty of noodles (I mean a lot cause it looked like I barely made a dent in it when I was full..), and tender pieces of beef. I'd happily order this again when I'm craving some noodle soup. Overall, portions are good and service is pretty quick. Although it can get pretty busy here.

Yelp
This is the place to go in Burnaby when in your craving a big portion of good Taiwanese food. Might be on the little saltier side for some dishes as they don't spare their MSG for sure but that's what makes it delicious! Not a bad price for the portion sizes and they don't do any delivery apps or advertising. The thing I always come back for is their slushes - shareable between two or three people and the pearls are actually pretty good.

Yelp
I had a lot of fun with my friend at The one restaurant. It was both of our first time and we enjoyed trying as many of the appetizers as we could. We also got the tall matcha slush to share between us and it was more than enough. The prices are reasonable because you can share everything with lots of people. Lots of food on all the dishes too. My favourite was the sea food noodles which the waiter recommended, while my friend really liked the squid tentacles the most. But In the end we had no food left, we were in comfort food heaven. The atmosphere is really easy going, with lots of young people hanging out with friends. I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely come again. Why it's only 4 stars: - I wish the menu was more clear about what the food was, maybe with pictures? - our water cups were dirty so we had to clean them before drinking. But honestly I really had a great time and ate every last bite. Comfort food heaven for sure! I'll be back! Also all the staff were so kind and helpful to explain the menu. Which I thought was awesome.

Yelp
Great place to chill with some friends for late night drinks. Their food looks pretty good too. This is a sit down place where bubble tea is still $3.95! This is unheard of. Additions are extra 0.50 I believe. I ordered a hot green milk tea with fresh taro. They asked me if I wanted it smooth or chunky, I mentioned chunky thinking it would be taro bits but ended up with a few logs at the bottom of my drink. lol. Also they served the pearls on the side, to prevent the pearls from getting too soft which was a nice touch. Hot drinks are actually served hot and not warm. Also ordered squid tentacles which were not too greasy, good flavouring and a good amount of chew. Food at the other tables looked decent too.
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
If you come here, you HAVE to get a slush - no matter how cold it is. It's the most memorable part of this restaurant :) You can definitely share 1 drink between 2 people, as they usually split it into a separate cup as well. I ordered a hot pot and it was pretty good, the portion was big and I took the remainder home. The staff was really friendly and it's a great place to enjoy food and catch up with friends!
google avatar

Eliza L.

Yelp
Came here with my siblings because we heard the recipe for their Taiwanese beef noodle was the same as Lao Shang Dong (which recently closed down). I was a bit disappointed because the beef shank was pretty dry, the broth was "thin" and lacked the beefy flavour I was looking for, and the texture of the noodles was just OK. Can't really go wrong with the fried chicken, so I'm glad we got this. The kimchi fried rice was just OK -- which there were more kimchi pieces... If anyone has any recommendations for Taiwanese beef noodle soup PLEASE let me know! The search continues....

Yelp
Now this is a place you'd want to consider trying out if your in Burnaby or wanting some big portion Taiwanese style food! * Salt deep fried chicken nuggets ($8.88) ~ flavours in this was mind blowing each piece was coated perfectly, and each piece was super crunchy and juicy! Be careful it's so juicy that it can burn you! * The one sliced beef in pancake ($8.88) ~ now this is one delicious beef pancake. Perfect ratio of green onions to sauce to beef. The pancake was not oily and the beef was tender. Not dry because of the generous yet not over powering amount of sauce! * The one deep fried chicken with rice ($13.88) comes with choice of sauce which we got lemon mayonnaise and comes with side dishes. * The deep fried chicken is HUGEEEE I mean look at the portion of this it was bigger than my head! Very nicely seasoned and delicious again very juicy and tender. The lemon mayo was surprisingly very delectable with the hot juicy chicken. Added a nice zest to it! Came with 4 sides, marinated egg, spring roll with Thai sauce, glass noodles and pork bites. And a huge portion of rice to pair with it. * 8/10 ~ it was very delicious I really enjoy coming here for Taiwanese food usually I get a slush cuz it's huge but due to takeout size it's all in to go containers which you don't get as much. * 10/10 ~ you for sure get your value here! Portions are huge and flavours are good too! Total bill before tip: $35.44 * 10/10 ~ social distance, contact info gathered, sanitizer at door.

Yelp
I feel kinda speechless to write about my recent dining experience. It was no different to what I saw from last year. Chicken Nuggets ($7.75) were good, but it was lukewarm when I got the dish. Kimchi Hot Pot ($13.99) was sweet rather than spicy. I thought how foolish I was to eat Kimchi Hot Pot instead of having authentic Kimchi Jjigae or Budae Jjigae (aka Military Stew or Johnson Tang) at my own home. Kimchi in the soup tasted sweet. We even asked the server if there was lots of sugar in it, and the waitress said no. This hot pot was rather a sweeter, and it was more like Budae Jjigae because of all the noodles and spam pieces. Tons of chili flakes ; however it was quite bland. I thought hot pot always came with couple of side dishes and rice NOT anymore. Server was helpful. There were dishes of unfinished food and the floor was dirty. I really think the owner must've changed.

Yelp
I love this place!! This is my second time here because I took dance class at studio604 around the corner !! Service: 10/10 The people who work here are so nice :) they helped me pick up my stuff that fell. The waitress also helped me choose a somewhat healthy dish (egg and tofu soup) because I have stomach problems :( I ended up getting dumplings and it came with this hot red sauce and I ate all of it.. (was probably like 10 of them ) also there is this cute guy who works there really tall and has glasses , a baby face .. Food: The SIZES ARE GINORMOUS !!!!! What ?? Even the slushees are massive ! I am SHOOK! It taste rly good too can split bw a few people ! The honey milk tea taste so good I wanna come back !!! Price: it's so worth it for the amount u r getting :D esp the main dishes like chicken nugget rice and fried rice !! mood: it's so busy even at like 10-11pm at night !! Prob like a rly known spot in Royal Oaks area! :D I can see why. They speak Mando too ! 5/5

Yelp
Ate here today with my sister and 3 cousins for dinner after watching the new Spider-Man movie (Spider-Man No Way Home) in Metrotown. We ordered 3 different kinds of dishes to try and eat there for the first time. We all got the beef noodles, deep fried chicken fried rice and noodles and dumplings in beef soup. Overall, the food tasted just ok and good enough for us to share and eat together. Also, the service there was really quick and fast to get our foods! Furthermore, we all had different opinions about how was the food and might come back again anytime! :)

Yelp
I've been here twice now, and overall the food is just okay. The chicken and seafood are both below average, with the chicken pieces being too fatty. The slush and the shaved ice, however, are pretty good so we'd come back just for those if we're in the area. Our food and desserts came out really quickly. Lots of Asian families come here for dinner so the place gets really busy in the evening. I would recommend coming here before 6pm to beat the crowd. Service is very friendly and efficient. You do have to get the waitress' attention, otherwise they won't know you need help. I ordered a set meal, and my partner ordered a slush. The waitress asked if I wanted to order more because what I ordered wasn't enough food for the two of us. It was kind of motherly and I thought it was cute!

Yelp
Neat place with a whole lot of choices. We ended up getting: Beef roll: *** Pork chop: **** Sesame sauce noodle: *** Mango slush: ***** Staff was helpful and nice.

Yelp
Came on a weekday evening around 5:30 -- seating was quick, and food came in no time. The menu has quite a wide selection, but we picked pretty simple stuff -- I'll have to come back to try some of the appetizers and desserts. My cold spicy beef noodle (jia chang liang mian) was quite good and definitely didn't take 30 minutes to arrive (as it says on the menu). My friends' chicken nugget rice, braised beef flank with noodle in soup (niu rou mian), and dry noodle with ground pork sauce (zha jiang mian) all had good portions and decent taste. Prices are reasonable, and service was agreeable. Overall not a "wow" restaurant but worth returning to.
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
The chicken was undercooked and instead of owning up to it, the manager picked up a piece of my half bitten chicken and proceeded to pry it apart with their bare hands to "prove" that it was cooked... The food itself: ordered salty peppery chicken for $13.88. Came with side dishes. The stir fried egg and tomatoes were pretty good. The chicken was flavorless and not crisped up well. I had to order a side of sweet chilli sauce ($1 add on) to get through the dish. Many of the pieces had ligaments in it This place used to be worth it, but the portion and quality has gone down significantly while the price has only increased.

Yelp
I used to live a few blocks away from here and loved it. Now I try to find any excuse to come here (cue tackling Metrotown mall - I hate malls..). Service is hit and miss here and the floors are sometimes slippery. However, food is consistent and portions are pretty big. My favourite dish is the chicken nugget fried rice. SO good! I would order a side order of the nuggets but.. I don't. It's a little greasy including the fried rice but you don't order this for health reasons. It's just GOOD! We also got the vegetarian herbal hot pot - yumyum! And tried their wolfberry longan tea - my new favourite tea ever.. Now I am looking for another reason to go back...

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, the food was actually pretty good. I just ordered Taiwanese popcorn chicken. It's the customer service that pisses me off. I came in around 1:30 pm on a Saturday the 28th of july. The only reason why I am precise on the date and time is because I hope the owner is reading this. The waitress who took my order was a complete bitch. I was asking her a simple question about an item on the menu and she grabbed the menu and rudely told me it was under a different name. When I was paying for the food she was really rude about that as well. Pointing at the machine giving me a hand motion as in hurry up. When my order was up she just gave me the bag of food and walked away. I don't know if she was hung over or maybe she just needs a better boyfriend if ya know what i mean. Kind of made the experience a buzz kill.

Yelp
One thing to order here: Deep fried salt and pepper chicken nuggets (or popcorn chicken). It is crispy, juicy and tasty. I usually ordered the 1-person meal which can actually be two meals if you are a small eater. The main dish comes with rice and vegetables. You can also do family style and share a few dishes. The fried rice is a big portion and can feed 3-4 comfortably if you also order items. The dry beef noodle is equally delicious and is not very spicy. The fruit slush is very impressive with a towering pointed tip. It comes with another glass where you can move part of it there if you cannot eat/drink it faster than it melts. The spring onion pancake is not what I expected though it is not too bad. It opens till late, making this a popular spot especially at night. Lunch hour can also be busy as there are not many restaurants nearby for those who work in the area.

Yelp
First time here for a birthday celebration with 5 of us. We had a few items to share so we could try a little bit of everything. Our friends ordered the XO fried rice, chicken nugget fried rice, soup dumplings, spicy wontons, fried Taiwanese chicken nuggets, shrimp and egg fried rice and Taiwanese fried vermicelli. Venue was decent sized, but not a lot of parking. The restaurant was maybe at 60% capacity with table large enough to seat our group for they decided to stick us in the middle of the restaurant cramped in with other tables. Taiwanese chicken nuggets: It was a little light on the seasoning and could have used a little more fry time. Spicy Wontons: Wontons were meaty and sauce was nice and spicy. Overall it was good but lacked any depth of flavor, we added some black vinegar to it and made it much more flavorful. XO Fried Rice: Visually it looked correct and right but lacked any XO flavor or spice, was a but disappointing. Shrimp and Egg fried rice: We were expecting it to be the saucy version but ended up just being scrambled eggs and shrimp. Overall a pretty solid dish. Taiwanese fried noodles: This was really lack luster. It lacked any real flavor, didn't have the right "wok hay" as you would call it, the addition of the black vinegar made it better but still lacking in general. Overall not bad for Vancouver Taiwanese food but we could have been a bit bias as we travel to Taiwan to visit family fairly often so we've had these items as authentic as can be. Portions however were massive, and for the value its worth trying this place out.

Yelp
One of the authentic Taiwanese restaurant with a great menu, dessert (shaved ice) , bubble tea, & their sky high slushes. Another bonus- it opens late. A wide variety of hotpot, fried rice, fried noodles, main dish with side dishes & sides dishes. Warning- the fried rice portion are huge! It is located in a small mall, parking in the mall is challenging, after hours when the rest of the businesses are closed except for a karaoke joint & this restaurant... parking availability is better, street parking is available. All the food dish are good... we come here often & never had a dish of bad food. When it gets busy... service can be challenging- be patient, the staff are pretty good & do their best when it is busy. For those s meal, I wanted hot soup, settled for a sliced lamb in satay sauce hot pot, the hot pot comes with several type of meat & fish balls, veggies & crystal bean thread noodles plus the sliced lamb. It also comes with a big bowl of rice. It was shared among 2 person. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend you give it a try!

Yelp
I went here as a group of 5 for lunch. My first impression was good, it was a brightly lit restaurant and very new looking. We were told to sit anywhere so we found a booth at the back. Two of my friends went for the fried chicken items so I got a set meal of the nuggets. It was hard to get service here though. We spent most of our time waiting for menus (which we later decided to grab them ourselves) and trying to flag a waiter down. I only spotted at most two waiters on the floor for the lunch rush, however they all seemed to busy to catch their attention. **warning** There were a lot of ants (5-6) on the table itself. My friends ended up using napkins to kill them. Luckily they weren't around while we were eating. The chicken nuggets were subpar, they were barely seasoned. My friend gave me a piece of fried chicken knee and it was considerably better in terms of flavour. Perhaps it was due to the rush. The extra sides were nice to have, all four tasting decent (egg, tofu, pickled veggies). Not sure if they were supposed to be cold, but it was still enjoyable. Their slushes are huge though, which is its saving grace. Being twice as high as the large mug they provided, we were able to share it among all of us. I recommend not coming during the lunch rush and trying out their enormous slushes. Expect minimal service.

Yelp
Super busy place, food came so fast considering how the place was so busy although the servers looked a little overwhelmed and thus our wait time was longer than normal. Not much to say about the food, it tasted great. Oh. and if you are a bubble tea lover, this is the place to go!!! They make sky high bubble tea for the price of the regular one with a huge list of flavours!!!!!

Yelp
Have you ever had a giant one foot tall slush?? Great eats here. Many many favourites to choose from. It's easy to over order!! Thank goodness for take out containers!! Slightly over priced for what it is, but the food does taste yummy!

Yelp
Solid 3.5 star restaurant if you're looking for a place late at night to hang out with friends and grab some food. This place was packed on a Friday evening but I still managed to get a table for two relatively quickly. I can say honestly that the portions here for the two dishes I ordered was very generous. I hopped on the bandwagon and got the popcorn chicken fried rice, which was so big it could've been two portions. Combine that with the tower-tall fresh watermelon slush that I got and you have more than enough for a full meal. The service was a bit spotty but things did get done. Overall, not a place that I would tell people to go have lunch or dinner at normally - but as one of the few places in Burnaby that is open till 1am they have good selection and choice. The Taiwanese food is decent here if you're looking to try something new.

Yelp
I can say this will be the best place to grab my BB Tea and regular Taiwanese food!! I came here a total of 4 times already, and I love this place so much for their decor, their drinks and their food. Their service is average, but I am surprised most of those that work here has perfect English and at the same time can speak Mandarin. YAY!! Their drinks are all the rave here. If you want something long, big and delicious you came to the right place ;) LOL. Their drinks are massive size, just like the ones in Taiwan. I love getting their slushies as they are HUGE! They are like towers that erect *teehee* over your table. To be safe, they always give you a cup and a spoon in case you want to move it off. Eat it fast, because it melts FAST. Their food here is not that bad. It is typical asian BB Tea food. But I can say that their deep fried tentacles, and deep fried chicken are great. It's the typical type of food you would get a Boba place. I had their rice before and I would say it's not the best, but it's the same food you get at any asian place. The decor here is amazing. It's original, and very trendy. Their service here is fast too, but sometimes you have to wait to get seated, this place always get packed during peak hours. I for sure recommend this place to go for BB Tea. But not 100% sure about anything else though. So eat at your risk :3

Yelp
I can't believe I've never written a review about this restaurant before. I've come to this place since 2009 when I moved from Vancouver and I've always had great service here. My top favourite dishes at this place are: Chicken Nuggets Fried Rice (Good for 2-3 people) Deep Fried Tentacles Deep Fried Nuggets Seafood Hot pot (If you are sick this dish will help you with your sinus) Taro Slush (Their drink is good for 4 people !!) I would say that this restaurant is fast paced and they serve their food quickly. Last night they went above and beyond as my Uncle from San Diego came to visit as we celebrated his 60th Birthday. My mum asked Aimy (Server/Manager) if they had any cake or dessert to provide for my Uncle. They told us that they didn't have but my Mum insisted that anything was fine. They actually had cheesecake and they put a "Happy Birthday" sign as well as a candle to surprise my Uncle! Furthermore, they changed the mood of the restaurant by playing the happy Birthday song in their TVs ! Definitely a good restaurant to visit. I would say the best times would be lunch time and late nights on the weekdays. During the weekend you may get more people coming in at night as they do have spaces for big groups

Yelp
Walked in and this is where the hell began. I came because my gf recommended this spot for bubble tea. As a boba shop owner, I know quality, presentation and customer service is #1. I gave this place 1 star as the mango slush was good but that is all. we stood to get seated after 8 mins, so i waved the waiter down. There was probably 50+ people seating, and only 12 customers? My friend has leg issues so we asked to sit in a booth. The waiter fought with us til the end saying its for 5+ more people. Last time my gf and my other friend were only a party of 2 on several occasions and sat by the window. *please note - all the window booths were empty!!!* then a higher up lady came and I explained to her, how can this waiter assume we only a party of 3-4 when he never even asked how many people. He then said we were lying and that's when I blew. If my workers spoke to my potential customers and business $$$ I would terminate him immediately. We got the booth and I was worried they would spit or do stupid crap to our drinks and food, so just got the slush where I can actually see the gentleman preparing it. There is either real fruit +$1.00 option, and add pearl $.50 which I chose with my mango and they got a taro slush. The drinks came out fast. The slush was refreshing and huge! Like 3 foot long huge! Ok maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit, but look at the pictures and see for yourself. As I mentioned previously, the slush was delish but the pearls were a little over cooked. If the server/host guy was actually decent and hospitable, I would of given this place 3. Good drinks, crappy service. Need a fluent English speaking person there. No I am not racist as I am asian myself!!! If even I cannot understand, then there's a problem!

Yelp
Been into this restaurant twice already. Their fried rice is great. I love the chicken skin and squid tentacles. Service and the place is good. I like the interior. Price is okay. Next time I will try their shabu-shabu.

Yelp
Unbelievable I asked for the chicken nugget fried rice and asked for the nuggets to be out in the side. The server said no they can not do that ? Wtf !!!! It's less work for them not to toss it in the rice and just put it on the side? I spoke to someone else and he said the same thing ? There was no manager because it was at 11:00 PM. Such a simple request and they would not accommodate! Complete Fucking bullshit !!!!!!!

Yelp
I came here with my two sisters and was pleasantly surprised of the quality of the bubble tea that we ordered and of the dishes. We ordered the lychee bubble tea and the real taro bubble tea, along with three dishes. The deep fried squid, and two noodle dishes. The food tasted authentic and not like the saturated westernized hong kong stuff you see all the time in the city. Also keep in mind that their portions are huge, which is great; you're definitely receiving your money's worth over here. The bubble tea portions are gigantic! Its literally overflowing over the cup! I wish i saved some pictures but i never had a chance to grab them off my snapchat story! Food has great portions as well. The place was packed and very busy, so you may have to wait awhile for a seat depending on the time you arrive. We arrived around 12:30-1pm in the afternoon and we seated right away despite the rush. Service is not the quickest but the girls here are efficient nonetheless. I'd definitely come back to try different flavors of the bubble tea, and for the deep fried squid! It was so delicious!
