My group and I had a great time here! The building is really beautiful, the rooms are all unique and luxurious with historic feel but modern bathrooms, and the service was outstanding. Richard always had a smile and was super nice. It is in a great location and we walked to most everything we wanted to do. I thought breakfast was so fun! It is included and you can order as much as you’d like. This was the first spot we stayed in Colombia and our favorite!

Incredible charm. This boutique hotel literally has four expansive and HUGE rooms. I suspect in the past, it was a home for rich people that was converted, preserved for four fabulous rooms, complete with made to order breakfasts. There is still hot water issues that plagued us for the two nights we stayed. But I'm willing to overlook that because I felt like I was staying in a palace. High ceilings complimented by ornate tin, rooms with fireplaces, king size beds, exceptional sheets/bedding. There was an issue with the wooden shutter not closing and the man on shift was able to take care of it timely. ||Be aware that entry / exit is not free-will. A desk agent will need to open the door for you to leave and enter, each and every time. It's not a dangerous area per se, that's just how many of these smaller hotels operate, an ounce of prevention is far better that something bad results. ||Food was fantastic, there is even an elevator for the two floors. Stairs were being upgraded when we were there and it should be done as of November, 2024. Would I stay again? Absolutely. Orchid Hotel is going to be around for a long time and eventually, issues with hot water will be resolved. Thank you!!

Absolutely beautiful and safe boutique hotel. But the service was even more special. I'm a traveling medical doctor and I had certain significant issues pop up in Cartagena. Never been to Bogota. I had excellent service and in my rush to return to the US I forgot a bag of valuable belongings. Richard Esteban illbaro llenos was kind and patient and helped me retrieve my belongings safely by shipping intercontinental. A+++

This hotel is all about Richard. They should pay him double whatever they are paying him. Richard greeted me on arrival, welcomed me, fixed my safe, made and served breakfast, let me in and out the door, gave me an umbrella, helped me with Ubers, tours, and directions, and walked me to my Uber when I left. The property is aesthetically remarkable with sprawling, luxurious rooms, an amazing included made-to-order breakfast, free wifi, an in room safe and a fabulous location walking distance to all tours and all things historic! The ONLY reason I have this a four rating, which would’ve been a 2 or 3 without Richard, is that there was limited hot water, construction carrying on outside the room, rusted out stairs, unnecessarily oversized room keys, NO temperature control available, you could hear the rain dripping on the inside of the ceiling from the roof, the fire alarm needed batteries and beeped for three days, and you have to be buzzed in and literally let out the door. This is remarkably inconvenient, particularly when it’s pouring down rain and there’s no overhang. Also, Uber will drop you off here but not pick you up here. Have Richard assist you. He was TRULY remarkable.

Amazing location, great service, would definitely stay again if back in Bogota. We arrived late at night and the gentleman working helped get us settled. Check in was easy and the transportation from the airport to the hire was arranged for us and at a good price. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. We got an inner room so no view but very quiet which was what we wanted. The breakfast (which is included in the price to stay) was delicious with lots of options. You are also allowed to order as much as you want and they will even deliver it to your room if you prefer. Check out is at noon which was great for us and they stored our luggage for the day after we checked out so we could see the sights without worrying about our bags. This hotel is older so it’s going to have its quirks but overall this was a great place to stay. Highly recommend! Pros: Location - close to all the best museums and tourist sites Service - very friendly and willing to do whatever to make the customer happy Breakfast choices and taste Comfy bed Tv where shows can have audio in English Quiet room Unique style - it’s historic! Cons: Satellite tv so feed can be spotty (not the hotels fault) Shower - hot water took a few minutes to warm up and temperature can be finicky. Just takes a little adjusting to find the right temperature for your shower. My guess is just old pipes and trying to compare it to US showers versus remembering were in another country.

Medieval Palace transformed in a small hotel. Charming and potentially excellent hotel for a luxury hotel. Great spaces, well organised into hotel rooms. Polite and helpful staff. Excellent location in safe neighbourhood, in proximity of all mayor points of interest.||Disliked · It is an old building and still needs a lot of improvements, structural and in facilities. It is obvious that a lot of many was invested, but still it does not meet a luxury status. Decoration in some point is cheap and completely unnecessary. Cleaning was ok, but basic an deep cleaning had some issues, as great and big windows which were not clean, TV monitor with inclination etc. WI-FI was poor quality and signal. Breakfast was served by butler and in a pretentious room, but the choice and the quality of the food was median and let's say "french style" ( small quantity, which I personally do not mind, but someone could). |What I did not really like was: a necessity to pay more 50 euros due to a fact that I asked for an Invoice. It is small money, but I visited several hotels in Colombia and never was asked to pay extra money because I asked for an Invoice. At least, not at all an elegant attitude.||

The Orchids is a brilliant place to stay in Bogotá. Rooms are Huge and all individual and different. Bathroom is modern. The lift is the slowest one I have ever used and it’s quicker to take the outside stairs. Breakfast is amazing. Love the decor and the peace and quiet. Richard was great as he multi tasks across the needs of everyone. Safe area and very central. Great value and strongly recommended.

The Orchids is a beautiful boutique hotel. There are 4 rooms which means personal service and very quiet. It is in the heart of the historical district of Bogota and thus very central to everything. It seems to us to be in a more secure area. The hotel itself is very secure. You should not have a problem here. The staff are very nice. Rooms have no air conditioning, but all you need to do is open the window at night as it cools to around a refreshing 50 degrees. The weather is beautiful in Bogota and consistent. There is a free breakfast every morning with fresh homemade food. The room has a historic look with amazing (seems like) 20 foot ceilings and beautiful wood trim around everything. But the bathrooms are completely contemporary and look like something you might see in a design magazine. Do not hesitate to stay here. It has everything you will need. If we go back I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel.
