The Orient Jakarta, a Royal Hideaway Hotel

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. The overall vibe feels luxurious, but it’s not over the top—it still has a strong traditional character. Lots of old wood, real leather, and darker tones that somehow make the place feel elegant and well-put-together rather than heavy. I loved the room, especially the bathtub facing the Sudirman city view. It was really nice to just soak and look out over the city. The pool also looks amazing at night, the atmosphere changes completely and feels very calm and relaxing. Breakfast was genuinely good, with plenty of options and great quality. And the spa was probably one of my favorite parts—beautiful space and a really great experience overall. The best part for me? The library!!! It was honestly that good—way better than I expected. Intimate, cozy but still very refined. Calm, warm, thoughtfully designed, a perfect place to slow down and just enjoy the moment. I could easily spend hours there without realizing the time. It ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the stay.

The Orient Jakarta Hideaway is a stylish, well-run hotel with a lot of personality. The design is genuinely chic—leather, aged wood, local art, and thoughtfully curated historical photos that make the whole place feel warm and intentional. The library in particular is stunning, and I found myself spending time there just to take it in. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, and amenities like the pool area felt properly staffed rather than “hands-off.” The rooftop pool and hot tub are large, and the infinity view over the city is a highlight. The spa was excellent as well. Breakfast was another strong point: it’s order-from-the-menu rather than a buffet, but you can order as much as you’d like, and everything I tried was tasty. The location is central for getting around Jakarta, and I also appreciated that my colleague (who wasn’t staying at the hotel) was able to join me at the pool and in the library without any issues. A couple of things are worth knowing. The room layout is unusual, with the sink positioned between the bed and the shower, and the toilet on the other side of the room, which may not be for everyone. Also, while it’s centrally located for driving, it isn’t very walkable—aside from the Mori building next door, crossing the major streets nearby can be difficult.

We stayed here for the end of our trip, and what a perfect way to finish our vacation! The hotel is absolutely stunning. Every corner is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, with so much attention to detail. The gym is impressive, and both swimming pools are gorgeous, offering breathtaking views over Jakarta. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even more special. Breakfast (available as an add-on) is honestly one of the best I’ve ever had,the variety is huge, with both à la carte options and a buffet that’s abundant and of exceptional quality. The selection of drinks is also amazing. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay, I’d recommend this hotel 1000 times over!

Just like its name, The Orient is truly a ROYAL HIDEAWAY. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the hotel’s ambiance — warm, stylish, and full of character. The thematic design is unlike any other hotel in Jakarta: bold, eclectic, and immersive, yet still incredibly elegant. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated and tells its own story.||||The staff were attentive in the best way, and the food was consistently impressive. Everything felt perfectly taken care of.||||What amazed us most was how peaceful it felt. Nestled right in the heart of Jl. Sudirman — one of the busiest roads and business districts in Jakarta — yet it didn’t feel like it at all. Once inside, the noise and rush of the city seemed to disappear. It felt hidden, private, and effortlessly calming.||||Exactly what we needed: a true escape from the city, but still conveniently within it.

I had such a great experience staying at The Orient Jakarta. The service was excellent from start to finish, especially Ms. Yasmin at the reception. She was super friendly, helpful, and made the check-in process feel effortless. Her hospitality really stood out.||The hotel itself is incredibly Instagrammable — every corner looks stunning and unique.||And the highlight for me was definitely the pool view. It’s absolutely gorgeous, especially during sunset. One of the most beautiful views I’ve seen in a hotel.||Overall, a wonderful stay. I’d definitely come back!

Stylish hotel with a unique Spanish textured atmosphere. Excellent customer service throughout. The staff are genuinely (like all Indonesians) warm and sincere and professional in their job. The bedroom I had was well laid out, lovely shower area and comfortable bed with a Audio Pro speaker on the bed table that I hooked up with my Laptop to enjoy my music. The breakfast is incredibly varied and thoughtfully laid out. A special thank you to Sebastian the hotel manager for sourcing me a dish of cornflakes! Charming fellow. This hotel is very well located in the Sudirman business district within walking distance of the Pacific Place Mall (20 minutes) which is one of my favourite malls in Jakarta. Quiet and relaxed. A quick note for the lovely Lisa in the restaurant. I hope your family in Jambi in Sumatra were not affected by the recent flooding.

Staying part of the Asics The Everyday Weekend. The hotel has a unique and well placed design. The staff are one of the best that we have ever meet in our stays in hotels in and out of Indonesia. Breakfast is a well-thought-out affair, with carefully chosen breakfast items and all well executed. Definitely would come back and stay for the weekend again here. As a solo traveller I found The Orient Jakarta to be a delightful choice. The décor is bold and artistic — each room feels like its own little story, thanks to the signature design touches by Bill Bensley. The location is central (Jl. Sudirman), so easy access if you're keen to explore the city. The semi-outdoor infinity pool and rooftop bar area make for nice downtime spots after a busy day. For a solo trip where you value design, atmosphere and a convenient base in Jakarta, this hotel is a strong pick. If ultimate peace & quiet is your top priority all night. I will stay here again for sure !
