The Best Spas in Thailand at Every Price Point | Condé Nast Traveler

"Hasn’t Bangkok’s grande dame aged beautifully? Transcending the competition while maintaining the history and traditions so adored by her repeat guests (more than 20 per cent of the hotel’s visitors have stayed more than once), the 145-year-old hotel only appears to get more ravishing. A few years ago, the original 19th-century Authors’ Lounge was preened to perfection, and four dreary signature suites were replaced with the marvelous Grand Royal Suite, 6,460 square ft of carved woodwork, silver filigree and shimmering silks. A metamorphosis took place in the spa too. With its focus on traditional, deep-reaching treatments, plus a stunning waterside location, the spa has long been a destination in its own right. Try the pampering Oriental Harmony program or yoga one-on-ones. Healthy food is on the menu: mango salad, sweet-sour tamarind fish soup, and shrimp and peanut curries, available in the restaurants, rooms, by the pool and in the spa. Upping the ante yet further is the Spa Studio, four glamorous treatment rooms in the serene Garden Wing, with an emphasis on results-driven, time-efficient therapies: rejuvenating facials; reflexology-induced micro naps; warming head-and-shoulder massages. All in all, the Mandarin Oriental offers a masterclass in growing old gracefully. – Lee Cobaj Book now with Expedia Book now with Booking.com A version of this article originally appeared on Condé Nast Traveller ." - Condé Nast Traveller

We had a pleasant experience at this spa, though it didn’t quite exceed our expectations. Service: The staff were highly trained and attentive from the moment we arrived. The shoe locker system was well-organized with numbered slots. We were welcomed with refreshing drinks and cold towels, and they even asked about our massage preferences beforehand, which was a thoughtful touch. Atmosphere: The spa exudes a luxurious wooden aesthetic, creating a serene and inviting ambiance. Everything was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Massage: The massage itself was good, and the staff were skilled. Despite only opting for a 60-minute session, he still felt relaxed. However, compared to other spas we’ve visited, it wasn’t the best experience we’ve had. Room: The spa room was well-equipped, clean, and had everything needed for a comfortable session. Gift & Snack: After the massage, we were given two snacks and a hot drink. The rice puff snack with sugar and salt was especially delicious. We also received a Yadom inhaler and some useful stretching techniques, which was a nice bonus. Location: If you’re staying at the Mandarin, you can take a boat across the river to reach the spa. Alternatively, driving there takes about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Overall: While the experience was enjoyable, I had higher expectations from this spa, which is why I’m rating it 4 stars.

The spa at Mandarin Oriental is the best I’ve experienced in Bangkok. You can arrive early to fill out a health questionnaire, enjoy some drinks and snacks, and fully relax before your treatment. I had a 90-minute massage in a private room, featuring the most comfortable and spacious infinity massage bed I’ve ever experienced. Although the session was only 90 minutes, it felt like I entered a state of deep sleep. I can’t wait to come back for a second visit

Its really the finest spa in the world! The full experience is unforgettable. Starting from the boat ride in the river, walking between the plants and the amazing buildings, reaching to the spa location. They have considered every detail in the experience and service. Welcoming drink is really good. The massage rooms are a thai style and everything you need is provided in the room including the shower room and toilet. Not to forget that they are really really good in the massage and oil choices. After finishing your session you will enjoy a warm drink and a snack in the relaxing lounge.

I had high expectations about my experience at the spa, I went the day of my birthday and they promised me a upgrade room with a milk bath for me and my husband as a birthday gift, I was excited however it was my first time in the city and we got lost and were behind schedule I decided to make it to the spa, since it was my treat for my celebration, the service was really good and everyone was really polite, the location is gorgeous and well organized definitely an A+ location, the ladies that did our massage were amazing, sadly I will go with two stars since they didn’t deliver what they promised & I was disappointed. Besides that thanks for everything

We were taken by the hotel’s boat to the spa across the river. We were greeted by someone who helped us find our way to the spa house. The gardens leading up to the spa house were beautiful. The interiors were traditional with wood everywhere. It was quiet and serene. The place was quite clean. The staff were polite, friendly, and gentle in their talk and behaviour. I chose the Spirit of Isaan (2.5 hours) and a facial treatment (1.5 hrs) so it was almost the whole afternoon but so worth it. I was feeling quite relaxed after. The only slightly challenging part was communicating with the lady giving me the treatment as her English was quite limited and on a few occasions, we had to keep repeating to each other what we were trying to say so that the other person could understand. She was very nice though. It wasn’t the best spa treatment I’ve had, it was good, not bad at all though. I was on vacation and I was relaxed and feeling good about everything. We were given herbal drinks and a snack before and after treatments.

Cannabis Relax and Restore — that’s what I chose for two hours. It’s pricier than a typical massage, but absolutely worth it. I definitely recommend trying it here.

Super luxurious spa and massage place. Like the ambience and professional treatment. The 90 min massage went by so quickly, but I felt that the massage is not as good as typical Thai massage I received other venues in frequented in town. The masseur kind of massaged with some patterns rather than feeling the pain (stiff) points then phasize the areas.

Been here a few times and on my most resent visit had the traditional Thai Massage. I booked and paid for a 90 minute session but only got 70 minuets. I was there early so don’t understand why. Hope the hotel can explain this to me as I’m planning to book for this week for an oil massage. Traditional Thai can me a bit painful also a week after
