The Original Josie's Pizza

Zero complaints, Austin was very welcoming and open to sharing about the Sicilian roots of his family. I brought my Sicilian wife (Italians somehow always manage to find other Italians while they're out and about, kind of like magnets or something🧲🇮🇹😄) and our niece Josie with us for her birthday and it was honestly one of the highlights of my year. They've got historical family documents detailing their voyage over to New York from Sicily which manages to give the place an authentic, homey and endearing feel and they've got plenty of room for large groups and a game room which was unexpected. Their chicken tenders are surprisingly flavorful and delicious and although I don't typically like bar or tavern style pizza theirs was solid. Pro tip that the great grandson of the woman the restaurant's named in honor of shared with me; you can ask for the pizza(s) you order to be cut in standard, triangular pie pieces which slightly alters the taste of the pie so I'll try that next time I go😋🍕

The chef special is epic. Regular pepperoni under the cheese, smaller pepperoni on top. WOW. Thin crusted with LOTS of cheese and meat. Left me feeling full with FOOD and not bread. This family run business is a friendly, delicious place to come for great food and a good time. Prices were super good, too! Highly recommend.

Great pizza served up by lovely family and staff in a spacious location that is great for dining and can support parties and events. Pool table, fun games, large bar and plenty of space to stretch out. Family run restaurant for over 50 years! Fast and friendly delivery or dine in. Perfect way to support a local business and eat some delicious food too!

Came here once with my son and will definitely be back again. Great customer service and delicious pizza!

Just moved to the area and seen it passing by stopped in placed a order hands down the best pizza I ever had the guy taking my order recommended it and he did great it was so good they made it exactly how I like it and I didn’t even tell them how I like it. The sub was pretty good too no complaints will definitely be ordering from there again. Thanks Josie staff

I tried Josie's for the 1st time tonight after seeing it mentioned on FB. The price was good for everything that we tried, & the crust and sauce were perfect. It's a bit of a drive for me, but definitely worth it.

I ordered Josie’s while on a trip because of the reviews. I ordered a large pepperoni well done. My favorite part, the dough. Super fresh and was great tasting. The sauce was okay. The price was a little steep for the pizza I ordered. The area surrounding the building was a little suspicious. When I pulled up, I thought this cannot be the right building however, it was. The parking lot was weird and the entrance that you had to go when you had to park further because there was only handicap parking right by the doors. I would try again but wouldn’t go out if my way to stop here.

Why. Just why? I have never had such a terrible pizza. As a yelper and pizza enthusiast, I try new pizza everywhere I go. With the higher rating, I was like "heck yeah, let's try it". No joke, it tasted EXACTLY like one of those frozen pizzas you get for a dollar with the super thin cardboard crust. It was just ... sick nasty. It just tasted frozen. Middle school lunch pizza but thinner. 1/10.

Was excited to try this location for the first time. The online ordering process was easy and pickup was quick. We decided to try a pepperoni and vegetable pizza. The crust was really nice, not too thin or thick. The sauce had good flavor and covered well. We did ordered extra sauce so I can't speak to a normal order. Overall we really enjoyed our meal and would absolutely visit again.

This is easily one of my favorite pizza restaurants in Columbus! My go to is the pepperoni pizza. It is always fresh, hot, & cooked perfectly! They are getting larger as they are now selling alcohol & the front of the store is opened. The staff is very friendly & personable. If ordering, I would recommend calling ahead and the wait is almost always, 15-20 minutes! Please check out one of the best pizza places in Columbus!

The is a great pizza - crunchy, light crust, creamy cheese, tasty sauce and old fashioned pepperoni that cups and gets crispy. Just landed in top ten columbus pizzas. FYI - the picture of the building 9n this page isn't Josie's at 952 Broad Street - it's the other Josie's further west.

I was happy my friend Chris took me to this location. Had this pizza twice in a few days because I did not know that there were 2 locations. (Sorry for delay review). This one has lovely people working there who treated you like they knew you all their life. Very funny and very kind. The pizza was the same as the other one and I loved every bite! I was updated on the history of this place while we waited and it was fun listening to the story they had to share. I'm going back soon to have this pizza 3 times in 1 week.

service hours have been shortened. if you call to place carry out and it's 10:20 on a Saturday night they have already stopped taking orders. Staff screaming into the phone they are closed. Wow you sti have 45 minutes to be selling. Won't be back.

Josie's Pizza is a Franklinton staple. The kitchen is nothing to do look at, but they serve up quick, solid pizza with a friendly staff to boot. They do deliver, but I have never had them deliver to me. I usually call them to place my order, then I immediately head out to pick it up. There are parking spots both out front and to the side of Josie's. All the employees are welcoming and quick to please. The biggest thing is Josie's pizza has some delicious pizza sauce, it has a slight sweetness, not overly sweet, but just right. If you are looking for fast pizza at night choose Josie's. They knock the socks off of pizzas such as Papa John's. I won't order from a quick pizza chain again after discovering Josie's. I'd rather help a local business with a totally edible pizza.

Okay, so I'm not usually one to give so-so reviews because I'm generally either really pleased or wholly dissatisfied with a place. That said, I fell it important to give some feedback to this neighborhood establishment that I had really high hopes for when I moved in earlier this month. First, let me say, Josie's has GREAT flavor in their sauce and seasoning, however, their crust was a little too thin and the pie could have been cooked for about 3 minutes longer to be great. We ordered the original large pepperoni, and the pepperoni was advertised to be crisper and curled up, but it was just only okay and needed more cook time. Also, it is cut in squares, not traditional slices, and it wasn't evenly cut which makes splitting it tricky. For the price, $16.50 for this pie, I had higher expectations that were sadly underachieved. Will I give Josie's a second chance, absolutely, but with some requests upon ordering. Support local, but also provide constructive feedback. I hope on my next visit I'm pleasantly surprised.

I have to admit, I wouldn't have tried a no-frills pizza joint out in Franklinton if someone else hadn't bought it, which was how I was introduced to Josie's Pizza. I was pleasantly surprised. It was awhile ago, but I recall the crust being more on the thin side and the pepperoni just gave off the right amount of grease so that it wasn't overwhelming. It definitely compliments other popular Fton restaurants within walking distance quite nicely.

Awesome pizza. Even better subs. The stromboli which is a steak sub is to die for. (which if the drug dealers across the street ever get in a shootout is a possibility.) Haha. Staff is very nice too.

Delicious pizza! They know how to do a well done pizza right. Employees are always nice and friendly. This place gets busy on the weekends so make sure to call ahead!

I am absolutely baffled as to why this is considered great pizza. Several people told me about this place. I got different reviews and was also told the other one tastes different from this one. So I finally tried this one and was NOT pleased. This pizza was so average and so bland, I could've gone to Little Ceasers for this! The service however, was excellent.

I notoriously don't like pizza, but when I moved to Columbus, Josie's totally changed me! Now I eat it with pineapple. Lol. Amazing pizza, and even more amazing service! Everyone is so nice. 1000/10.

The customer service is amazing, they are extremely friendly. The crust is thinner and hand-tossed, very tasty. Leftover pizza tasted great the next day. The cheese was super melty and yummy. I love Josie's quality of ingredients and I think most things here are homemade. I have allergies and cannot eat at most pizza places due to low quality ingredients making me extremely sick, but I feel I could eat at Josie's regularly and feel great each time due to their higher quality ingredients. Happy to have tried your pizza, Josie's, I'm so thankful you exist!

Wow! I'm at work third shift and I thought I'd order some pizza from any no chain restaurant that would dare deliver to the most dangerous area in Columbus and was immediately disappointed... I was excited! I thought I was going to be able to write a great review for a nice mon and pops joint... Maybe she needed a joint because she seemed bothered that I even called! I asked about specials since apparently, the website they have listed is nonworking ( sign one) but I was desperate, and then she goes on to say we don't take coupons and we dont do specials... Oooooh KAY!! I don't know if I should be offended, or offer her one of my residents pills. So I still decided to go on and order, a medium pepperoni... She said we don't have medium... And then silence, so I just said okay and thank you and hung up... What can a girl get delivered in the hilltop :(( double sad face...

I should preface by saying I am from Chicago and I know pizza. I have been going to Josie's for over 15 years. Their quality and consistency has remained the same in all that time. If a pizza shop does not have real ovens it is not a pizza shop. I hate conveyer belt pizzas. Josie's will customize your order the way a pizza shop should. The place is not much to look at but they sure make GREAT pizza.

They say "you can never come home again" or "that a fish never swims in the same river" They are so wrong. Josie`s pizza has never changed. As a boy my Mother would buy me a Strom every payday. When I was raising my 2 daughter on Jones ave in the 80`s we ate their every week. As a teenager working downtown I recommended they try Josie`s instead of Teresa`s Pizza on Livingston ave and they never went back. Every time I`m in the neighborhood I have to stop in

Great pizza! The service is also wonderful. For a neighborhood like this, what a gem that is! The staff (who have all been there for ages) are very friendly and welcoming and I eat in there almost once weekly. Usually sit at the counter. The italian sub is wonderful!!! Yes, it's just an italian sub...but the bread and all ingredients are almost fresh-picked and it tastes great! Pizza is also great. Have not tried the other subs but hopefully someday i will!

Having moved downtown recently and decided to scout out a new pizza shop. Normally I would've stuck with my 5 star spots, Planks or Bexley Pizza Plus, but we were looking for delivery. Well after calling and giving my address, the response was, "I never heard of it", followed quickly by "we don't deliver there". Hmmm, not off to a great start here. I decided just to order up a pie and pick it up, btw, my home is exactly 1.2. Miles from Josies. Well when getting home and seeing the established 1959 on the box, I got pumped, a pizza place being around that long has got to be great. The only solid thing I can say is disappointment. The pepperoni and cheese and sauce were excellent but the rest of the ingredients tasted blah. The crust was a bit thicker than a typical NYC thin but tasted frozen and definitely didn't seem fresh. There just wasn't anything saying "wow" about this pizza that will make me order again.

Josies is my fav westside pizza. And if you save those coupons you can get a free pizza!

Josies Pizza is by far the best pizza I have ever eaten anywhere! I have been eating Josies all of my life and I feel blessed to be so fortunate to. The owner and the current owners are amazing! They make anything you order in anyway you would like it!!! The employees are always the very nicest I have ever had the pleasure to deal with! I cannot truely express just how delicious and addictive and wonderful there pizzas and all of their foods are! If you have never had Josies' Pizza you have not lived! Try it because you will never be sorry except that you hadn't tried it sooner!

I have been going here for the last seventeen years and I love it. This is a family run restaurant and has been a staple on the westside of Columbus forever. The pizza is great but the staff is even better. If you are in the area give it a try.

if you like thin crispy crust this pizza is to die for! Old school family shop and their "all the way" pizza is piled high with a ton of toppings, but the crust is still crisp. I can't be in the neighborhood without stopping to get a pie!

Been going to Josie's since I was a little girl. Still love the pizza salad and the ladies that work there. They have been in business since the 50's. They must be doing something right!!! SEE YOU SOON! I still think your the BEST!!!
