Original Pancake House (Itaewon)

Went for a late breakfast and there was a queue, which took us 15 min to be seated. Service: 10/10 welcoming and polite staff. Quality: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Coffee: 5/10 which made me take one star out. The coffee tasted like a store coffee. Price: reasonable for the amount of food you get. Overall, I would come back again.

It is quite unique, cosy and clean restaurant. Interior is good and very modern. Pancake is so delicious. Coffee is good. Price is reasonable. Highly recommend for pancake lover.

We were only able to visit at dinner time, so the menu was limited. I can confirm that the buttermilk pancake recipe seems the same as the one they use the States, but the pancakes were rather pale, missing that hot griddle effect. Wish we could have come earlier and tried other breakfast foods I was missing. I'm from Southeast Michigan, where the local OPH has been around for ages and part of beloved childhood memories for many. It's not a big chain so I was surprised to see it in Seoul. It's fancier in Seoul and didn't quite scratch that nostalgic itch, but overall not a bad experience.

The portions are very large. The food is very delicious. The prices are a bit high but it is clearly visible when entering this place. There is a menu at the door anyway. A bill and menu are attached as an example. The only area that could be improved would be the toilets imo..

The Original Pancake house has a large variety of American food items in a diner-style setting. Upon arriving, check-in is done through a tablet and you wait until your number is called to be seated. The process is pretty straightforward and efficient. The service was ok. After being seated and looking at the menu, the waitress came to take my order within about 10 minutes. After placing my order, the bill was placed on the table. The food came quickly but one order was delayed getting to the table. There was no follow up to check in on how our meal was after everything was delivered. The food was okay. The portion size is very large but the flavors leave a little to be desired. The steak and egg hash did not have any salt but it was prepared well and had nice presentation. The pancakes were soft, however the flavor tasted a little bit off, I’m not sure if it was the pancakes themselves or the brand of syrup - but it left an aftertaste. The prices were comparable to American prices and the portion size was large.

The food was good and lived up to expectations. I highly recommend going if you're looking for a good American breakfast in seoul. The waiters were very nice and friendly and definitely new what they were doing. The calm retro atmosphere was living up to the original pancake house, sometimes diners go overboard on the retro art but this was a perfect balance. The food and service built the atmosphere up even higher with portions "American Sizes"

Sorry OP you just did not come close to my expectations. We arrived to nice atmosphere but really loud music, seems they were playing for the workers and not the clientele. Met by a less than happy waitress. She sat us down in a not too pleasant table next to the kitchen entrance and under a cold AC vent. Waited over five minutes for a waiter. Had to flag one down to get a menu and take our order. He must have been new. Didn't understand side orders. Food finally arrived. Ordered the Fruit waffle plate, sausages, hash browns and orange juice. Wife had the chicken salad. Waffle was overcooked and the color dark brown, fruit was OK, not enough whipped cream though. Sausage was undercooked and not flavored like a sausage should be. Hash browns were not brown but orange. Never seen orange hash browns before. Must have been the oil it was cooked in since the plate had a lot of oil on it. Do to the food coming warm, the AC cooled it down very quickly. When the food arrived it came with the bill. Never saw the waiter again after that. Seems all the employees I saw milling around were not a happy bunch. No one came to ask if the food was OK and if we wanted anything else. I now miss IHOP even more now.
