How to Plan the Perfect Trip to Sayulita, Mexico

"Villa Amor is a collection of one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas overlooking the beach and Pacific Ocean in Sayulita. Amenities include an on-site restaurant and yoga studio, as well as a two-level swimming pool. "Villa Amor is on the edge of town and relatively quiet, with sweeping views across the bay and village and up the northern Nayarit coast," said Rabinor." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We were in Sayulita for the first time for our daughters wedding, she had been there several times and scouted out the best locations for us to stay based on the amount of guests attending. We stayed in the Peninsula villa, it was a beautiful room with not too many stairs but enough to feel like we were getting a work out.|If you have mobility issues, this is not the hotel for you, but if you are fit and can handle stairs then I highly recommend. The staff was awesome, Julio in reception was very attentive and friendly, we were there for one week and we had no issues with staff. Rooms were very clean and unique from room to room, since we had so many of our friends in other villas we were able to see several different rooms. I loved that they were all different. I was able to cook for 10+ people with no issues, plenty of needed cookware. I recommend stopping at the main grocery store from the airport if you plan on cooking. Depending on on the size of your room your refrigerator is small with limited ice trays, we had to make sure and refill them each time we used them. Each room has filtered water dispenser which was nice. We will definitely return to this Hotel, the location is on the far side of town but in walking distance to everything. We had a 6 person golf cart even though there was only 3 of us, and we used it every day, we were able to offer rides to our friends into town and it was great to have with all the wedding activities , we used Roys Golf Carts. We used Sayulita Suburban for our Airport Shuttle and they were awesome, never waited for them to arrive, they were early and very professional. So Happy with every aspect of our time in Sayulita. If you plan on eating at the restaurant at the hotel (not affiliated with hotel) make sure you are clear with what you order and check your bill and the amount you tip. We had issues several times with ordering, food was very good but just beware of it. So many good restaurants, we never had a bad meal. I will be giving reviews on all we ate at.

We stayed in the Oceana suite. Was so spacious and the most amazing view from every window and balcony. It was quirky in all the right places but a great sleep and shower experience. Having the stove was nice to make our own breakfasts. The pool area was small but the property kept everything very clean. I did two yoga classes on property. From the pictures I expected the villas to be stand alone but they are built into each other and up the hill. Be careful to understand how many steps are at the villa you select. Would have liked it if they replenished a few water bottles each day but you could ask at the front desk.

Lovely setting |Gorgeous rooms .Great views. Can’t wait to come back. Daniel at the Concierge was so helpful and kind. We stayed in both May Y Sol and Corazon. The restaurant on property Si Senor had fantastic food. Luis our server was so kind and funny. Hard to leave! Cute town. Lots of charm.

Great hotel for surf camp. Sayulita is adorable. Rooms are very nice. For us, it was part of an all girls surf camp which was very well organized and a lot of fun. Morning Yoga, breakfast in town that was fantastic and fun outings. But again that was through the surf camp and this hotel was part of that.

Our stay at Villa Amor was unforgettable! My husband, our two kids, and I loved every moment. The ocean view from our villa was stunning, and the walk to the quiet Playa de los Muertos was just five minutes.||The staff was so friendly and made us feel at home, always ready to help with anything we needed. The villa was clean, cozy, and had everything we could ask for.||We enjoyed yoga, exploring the town, and just relaxing as a family. If you're looking for a beautiful, peaceful place in Sayulita, Villa Amor is perfect! We can’t wait to come back

Each of the suites at Villa Amor is unique, so I can really only speak to the Peninsula suite, the hotel grounds the perfect location and the wonderful staff. Set slightly away from downtown, this charming hotel offers peace and quiet away from the golf carts, cars, trucks with loudspeakers and general hub bub, but it's just a few minutes walk to the center and the main beach. Additionally, it's just a few minutes the other way to Playa de Los Muertos. The hotel offers free morning yoga classes, and the pools are beautiful. I can't say enough about the staff. Each and every one was friendly, professional and helpful. When I left something in the room, they contacted me immediately and were so helpful.||The hotel deserves 5 stars. The only reason that I have to take one away is because of a few quirks in the Peninsula room, which dampened our enthusiasm a bit. The layout was a bit odd because it was all about the huge, gorgeous balcony. And why wouldn't it be? The view is amazing, so you spend most of the time out there anyway, but when it's hot, you'd like to go inside. Unfortunately, there really isn't anywhere to sit "comfortably" inside. There's just the bed because the bar stools and single wood chair aren't comfy. Also, there are no curtains or blinds. No one can see in (yet, I note that there is construction happening next door, which may change that); however, the lights from town shine right in all night and kept me up, and the sun rises also directly in the room at this time of year, so you are up when the sun comes up. It's lovely to watch the sunrise for the first few days, but then, it would be nice to sleep in.||A couple of things to note, the restaurant, Si Senor, is not part of the hotel. It is just conveniently located there at the edge of the water, and you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner.||Would I stay at Villa Amor again? Absolutely! I loved it, but I would probably go one floor up where they have curtains.

The room itself was beautiful as was the view. We lucked out and got one one on the ground level. Apparently if you don’t, there are many stairs. |There is absolutely no parking. We paid for a rental that we never used because we had to park it across town and had pay for parking too. |Beware there are no TVs. I like to watch a movie after being out all day and that was off the table. Would not stay there again.

We hosted all of our guests for our Wedding in Villa Amor (~55 guests) and occupied almost all the villas available. ||My experience in securing the rooms, completing the payments and co-ordinating requests was nothing short of seamless! The reservations team especially Jesse; was an absolute pleasure to work with every day leading up to the trip! He was so patient, kind and thorough is ensuring everything was perfect upon the arrival of our guests. Jesse thank you for everything before, during and after our stay and for taking care of each and every one of our guests! You and the front desk team treated us with so much kindness and this is something we will always remember from our wedding. ||During our stay, Villa Amor accommodated our requests for golf carts, airport transportation, quick maintenance needs and went above and beyond for a few events we held at the Kissing Garden from start to finish. ||As for the rooms, they are all individually unique and beautiful in their own way. I would highly suggest setting expectations with your guests prior to arriving so that they may enjoy the wonderful beauty of Villa Amor to its fullest. (Eg- stairs, dinning, walking, etc.) The views, the pool, yoga in the mornings are all such nice amenities. ||While we only stayed 7 days, by the end of their stay at Villa Amor, no one wanted to leave their villa and Sayulita! ||Thank you for a great week Villa Amor, you will always be part of our most treasured memories!
