A Perfect Stay at Le Lion. Exceptional Staff and Atmosphere!||We , Berit and Brede had the pleasure of spending five great days at Le Lion in Clermont-Ferrand, and we truly can't recommend this place enough. From the moment we arrived until the very last goodbye, the experience was nothing but amazing.||||️ Warmth & Hospitality at Its Best||of Le Lion lies in its incredible team. Every single staff member made us feel welcomed, seen, and cared for going above and beyond in every way.||||Max greeted us with such charm and professionalism.||||Jeanine and Valentine always brought a smile with their kindness.||||Raphael, Ugo, and Marie were consistently attentive and warm.||||Isuru, Sarah, and Nils showed outstanding service, making each interaction personal and pleasant.||||The staff was so dedicated, genuine, and friendly. They made us feel like part of the Le Lion family.||||The hotel is stylish, comfortable, and perfectly situated in Clermont-Ferrand's center. Our room was modern, clean, and quiet. A great retreat after exploring the city. The design blends sophistication and comfort effortlessly.||||From breakfast dinners to late-night drinks, the quality of food and service was superb. There’s a cozy, joyful energy throughout the hotel that makes it more than just a place to sleep , it becomes part of your experience.||||We left Le Lion with full hearts, wonderful memories, and a strong desire to return. Beautiful boutique hotel, very well located. Super cool interior design. Rooms are spacious, super nicely decorated. Amazing food and breakfast. I stop here every year since 10 years on my way to Bordeaux, for a half trip relaxing evening and night. This year, Marie, at the Lobby, was especially nice, welcoming and helpful. They will see me once again next year!

We booked for two nights but extended this to three as the city and the hotel were too good not to want more. Le Lion is a small hotel/auberge with an active cafe/bistrot on the main plaza in the middle of Clermont-Ferrand. But the windows are sound-proofed and the curtains can be black-out so that one can have quiet while being the in the midst of activity. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were sufficient but not voluminous. One thing to note is that there is an elevator but it requires one to go up or down half-flights of stairs; so not for the mobility impaired.

Great central location on Place Jaude and excellent value for 163 euro for dinner bed and breakfast. Probably best place to park is the parking under place Jaude which is convenient although a bit pricey

Minimalistly decorated but clean rooms, fair price and perfectly located (restaurants, tramway and points of interest all at walking distance). The room was however quite hot even in May, we couldn't figure out how to turn on the AC and the restaurant and city square below are quite noisy to sleep with an open window.

We loved everything about our stay. The room was impeccably clean and had everything needed. The bed was very comfortable, and I would like to take the shower home with us! The restaurant was lively and the service perfect! I would recommend this reasonably priced ( for what you get) hotel! And it’s perfectly situated in the town on a beautiful square.

Hi This review is for the hotel and not the restaurant (restaurant is good). Hotel rooms, stairs & corridors smell of cigarette smoke (as reported by another guest recently). The smoke isn’t from residents but sucked in from users of the lower terrace/outdoor cafe space due to the unusual attributes of the square and hotel. I feel for the hotel owners but this needs addressing. I’m an asthmatic and struggled through the night when it gets worse. Get an air purifier at the bottom of the stairs near reception! NO AIR CONDITIONING: I paid for a room with air conditioning and it worked during the day but I suspect it’s turned off for all rooms at night (this shouldn’t happen). NOISE: As the room had no air conditioning and I was struggling with the smoke I opened the window only to find employees cleaning the front terrace area and putting away table and chairs. This was up until 2:00am and the noise was loud (I was on 3rd floor). I went down at 1:35 to complain about the noise and lack of air conditioning. Nothing was resolved. The location of the hotel is excellent: If you are a smoker who likes saunas and noise then this is the ideal hotel for you. Experience could be much better with some adjustments. Hotel Le Lion please don’t respond with your usual response which is we will make management aware rather than doing something. I’m very disappointed this was my wedding anniversary.

Very nice room, a lot of intesting details, view direct on Place de Jaude. Satisfied with my one night stay and I will be coming back. Thank you for hospitality.
