My friend traveled from Switzerland with her partner and their 5-year-old child. They first stayed at Vibe Hotel for 4 days and 3 nights, booked directly through the Far East website, and had an excellent experience upon check-in. Special thanks to Ana, Ben, and Jedrek, who were extremely helpful, friendly, and professional. The check-in at Vibe was smooth and welcoming.||Unfortunately, the experience at Outpost Hotel, booked under the Far East friend rate, was completely different.||They arrived at Outpost Hotel at around 9 PM on 20 Jan with a 5 year old child. The check-in experience with the front desk staff named Iris was extremely unpleasant due to her rigid and unhelpful attitude. No smile at all.||Iris insisted on seeing my friend’s passport immediately, even after my friend explained that it was inside her luggage and that opening it at that moment would make it difficult to close again. My friend promised to bring the passport down shortly just to show the photo, but Iris refused to be flexible until we communicate few times. ||In addition, Iris repeatedly asked to see the passports of her partner and their 5-year-old child, The passports had already been placed on the desk, and her partner had taken them back and put them into his pocket, yet she continued to insist on seeing them again.||Because of this repeated insistence and lack of flexibility, the check-in process took more than 20 minutes, which was unnecessarily stressful, especially late at night and with a young child.||They were also informed that there was no extra bed available. When they mentioned that a sea view had been requested under the friend rate booking due to this is their 1st anniversary trip in Singapore. Iris insisted it had to be shown in black and white instead of trying to help or check internally. There was no empathy or willingness to assist, she only say need to pay for the sea view, even though the request was simply to make the family more accommodating. ||On a positive note, the situation was later handled by Hafiz, who was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. He managed to settle the issue within 2 mins in the call even he is not on duty. ||This stay is rated 5 stars only because of Hafiz. I have told my friend Iris doesn’t represent the hotel, she could just be the intern or in a bad mood today.
