I was harassed by Gabby, the karaoke host here. On prior occasions, they have grabbed my body w/o my consent. If you are trans, do not come to this bar! We have attempted to report the harassment and the only responses from the bar we have gotten are mad-libs style form letters. Additionally, it appears as though they have deleted the previous review we left.
I reported the harassment the night it happened to the bar staff. They told me I would hear a response on the progress the next day. I did not hear a response. I emailed the owner of the bar and did not hear a response. My friend, Taylor, did the work to write a review online so I wouldn’t have to deal with this. The bar responded to this public review, NOT my email. I contacted them with the email they provided in this response.
They sent me a form letter from their HR department and failed to even address the letter to the correct person. They told me they would “conduct interviews” to appropriately determine the corrective action for the staff. I told them I was happy to come in for an interview, because my perspective of the night is essential, as the person who their staff accosted. They have not responded for more than a week. This leads me to believe they have no intention of hearing the events of the night from the person their staff harassed, only from the person who did the harassment (if they are doing any investigation at all).
The lack of initial response when I first reported it to bar staff, the fact that the only way we were able to get a response was by publicly complaining on google, the fact that they have exclusively communicated with us through canned form responses, the fact that they have made absolutely no effort to involve me in this process or update me in any way, and the fact they they have deleted the previous poor review all make it clear to me that the owners of this bar don’t take harassment of their trans guests seriously and have no intention of resolving this.
