Fairly good Hotel, good variety of food which is cooked extremely well cooked all times I've been there during DIDO/FIFO. A bit pricey but it shows it's worth once you've received the plate, rooms are spacious and vintage looking, nothing too special but some rooms can be a surprise as they're not all the same ( have been in 6 different rooms and they were all different in their own way) cool little window look outs if you're on the right side or in the right room. Overall, I'm always happy to stay at the Palace Hotel and you rarely hear the noise down stairs in the pub or the corner night club. Great venue & great location if you like being close to a lot of shops etc.

Room was freshly painted with new carpets but furnishings dated and past their best. The room was clean and had decent air-conditioning. Loved the balcony to sit and watch the town. No breakfast available but food in the Irish pub was good and they served a decent cold pint. Brilliant location.

Cold beer, and nice fish and chips. Odd " lady," behind bar today, snapped at me, whilst smiling at other patrons, assuming it involves my last review of premises where said individual made me her " whipping boy " for abuse, assuming it's " one of those days " Other staff have been fine 🤩

We were given a standard double room that looked nothing like the photos provided for us on booking.com. The room was claustrophobic and small. There wasn’t a window, even in the bathroom. Is this even healthy??|We were not notified of the Gold Bar band/karaoke on the Thursday night so we’re kept awake most of the night. We weren’t told about the Gold Bar nightclub which was scheduled from 9pm Friday night to 4am Saturday morning and we decided to cut our losses and leave before then.

Absolutely shocking customer service. Have been chasing a duplicated charge for 2 nights accommodation, apart from denying the duplication (even though i produced proof), they will not return calls or emails. Sounds like they do this often as the first time i called i was told "Not again?" when i called about the duplication, when i called again they started talking about someone else's duplicated charge....if you like your money, avoid this place for accommodation.

I loved my experience staying at this historic and in some parts quaint hotel. Everything about it was lovely. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. 😊

Yelp
The best peppered steak in Australia, hands down! I have been coming here regularly over the last 3 years while working on a project in Kalgoorlie. I have been to almost every 5 Star steak restaurant in Australia and I challenge any of them to compete with this steak. Consistent, perfectly cooked, always impresses!

Yelp
The menu needs to change. I have been coming here for years and nothing on the menu has varied. Some variety required urgently. I am sitting here now and the service has been appalling. All service staff seemed totally focused on cleaning tables of departed patrons rather that servicing those that are seated. I have had four staff go past me a dozen times with my drink empty and plate waiting to be cleared. Basic stuff really. When staff have attended there is no eye contact and they are walking away before the conversation has concluded. The Thai beef salad came out in minutes indicating it was all prepared. Time to move on.

Yelp
Beautiful views and beautiful food from the upper balcony but a pity about the manager arguing over turning on an air conditioner in a corner that had no air flow especially since the air con was right over our table. The customer is not always right but it does leave a bad taste in your mouth when management argues over turning on an air con on a 40 degree day. It's the little things that sometimes have the greatest affect on your dining experience.

Yelp
Best Backpacker Accommodation in Town! Clean, friendly and only too willing to help and give directions!

Yelp
Palace Hotel, Kalgoorlie, pride of place on the main drag, Hannan's Street. On referral we ventured here in search of a good steak. It was 7.30 at night and the temp was still 36C. We decided to sit on the upstairs balcony of this beloved institution and cool the body with a chilled beer. Three steaks for three lads followed. I went Pepper Crusted Prime Eye Fillet 400g, with creamy mash and a pepper & brandy sauce..medium rare. As steaks go, this was up there with the best. You bloody ripper! The rest of the menu, service and location are also worthy of recommendation.
