I was worried about staying here after reading some of the reviews. I even brought my own sheets and blankets in case I felt grossed out. I don’t regret that decision but only because the bedding was not all white and I prefer white. But I didn’t feel grossed out at all. I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into the room. It was very clean and comfortable. There were sugar ants in the kitchen so be sure to put all food in refrigerator. The location was great! Walking distance to all shops and the beach. The lady who checked us in at the boca resort was so friendly and helpful! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Definitely not as bad as the previous reviewers experience. Palmetto Inn is as advertised: 3 star accommodation in an amazing location for the more budget minded travelers . Honestly we almost turned around approaching the door as our entry way looked so run down (We stayed in the Snook suite at the rear of the house) . Opened up to a very strong smell of bleach in hallway. Through the little hallway is a decent galley kitchen and tiny living area which is where the TV is . Tiny bedroom that just squeezed in a queen bed and one dresser. Tiny bathroom with shower. It was all squeaky clean -other than a few sugar ants. Looked recently repainted. Weird lack of decor - here is where it gets a bit sketchy : no pictures on the walls and instead some very bossy signs posted ( guessing the result of some less than ideal guests?) Coffee provided, toiletries provided , towels ( but only one large towel? ) clean linen , mattress firm, shower fine ( just very small!) . Perfect location for walking to the restaurants and lighthouse tower.

It smelled really damp and a little moldy. I had to Lysol the couch before sitting on it. Location location location the location was great. The place was clean even though it smelled. The girl in the office was super. You can walk everywhere and the beach was beautiful. Will probably stay elsewhere if I come back. The locals were mostly rude.

The people working this place were very friendly, got nothing against them. They're super accommodating and genuinely wish for you to have a great experience 👏. I do, however, have a few things to say about the room itself. - One of the rooms smelt very musty, concerningly so. - The sink was basically in pieces, barely operational. It was way too easy to accidentally detach it just by moving it left/right, you had to keep it facing one way. - There's a lack of furniture in the living areas. We had 6 people staying, end even though the room more comfortably supported 4 people, there was no TV where more than three people could sit together on a couch, we couldn't all together hang in the same room comfortably as a family. As a result of this lack of living space furniture, it also just felt empty. - The seat cushions in the sun room off the side of the building were so flat they may as well not have existed, it was like sitting on the bare bench. All of these should be easy fixes, hoping that it will be updated. Oh and for those who care (I personally didn't mind), the A/C units can get a bit loud

Limited options in Boca Grande so I decided to try the Palmetto Inn. Stayed in the sister property(Boca Grande Hotel) last year. Rooms at the Palmetto are larger and accommodate larger groups. Unfortunately, this was a mistake. I have stayed at many 3 star properties in the past but this is not one of them. There is a tremendous lack of attention to making these properties clean and comfortable. Part of the problem could be that the hotel management is located at the sister property and no one is onsite. I will not stay here again. Here is a list of my issues:||1. Bedding is some of the oldest and dirtiest that I have ever experienced. Plan to bring your own sheets and comforters. I am surprised that we do not show signs of bedbug bites.||2. Furniture is as random as anything I have ever seen. They obviously outfitted the apartment with the cheapest things they could find with no rhyme or reason to the layout.||3. Window dressings are literally falling apart. I tried to open up the blinds that separate the apartment from the screened in porch and the entire window treatment fell apart. ||4. Floors have not been properly cleaned in years. Additionally, they are not level. There is a difference in flooring height between rooms that is perfect for stubbing your toe.||||What has the potential to be a nice property is dark, dingy and ugly. I travel a lot for work and pleasure and have been disappointed before but never left a negative review as I did not want to hurt business. However, in this case, I want to give a strong warning not to stay here. Hopefully, management will get the point and make some improvements.

We decided to stay in the Pinfish room (smallest room) and were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable it was. The Inn is in the perfect location as almost everything, including the beach, is within walking distance. Margarita (GM), front desk staff, and housekeeping staff were all very welcoming and friendly during our stay.

The check in was super as is the location. The place however needs a complete remodel. The exterior is even worse. And the use of cheap cleaners left the place completely over perfumed. Not good for sensitive people. The place was clean however but hard to get past the smell. $75 room with over $300 price.

This place is a crap hole hiding as an bed and breakfast. The bed was rough, but doable. The bathrooms ... taking a shower is an experiment in hot/cold fusion. ||The toilet is not usable to sit down for anyone over 5 foot 6. ||There are literal holes in the walls. ||Internet is terrible. ||The room had a general moldy smell upon entering.||Avoid this place at all costs.

Yelp
My daughter and her family stayed at the Palmetto Inn over spring break, 2018. They had a great visit in Boca Grande and were very happy with the Inn, very reasonably priced, clean, perfect location in the middle of town and the folks from Boca Grande Resorts were great. Today, they became more than great, they are wonderful. This year we booked two rooms for both of my daughters and their families to visit over Thanksgiving week. We had an issue with travel plans and reservations and the folks at the Boca Grande Resort office went above and beyond our wildest dreams to take care of us. I am a fan for life and we will utilize the Inn and resort whenever possible for all of our guests visiting the island. Great customer service is not dead but lives on at Boca Grande Resorts and the Palmetto Inn. Thank you and happy, happy Thanksgiving.

Yelp
We enjoyed 3 days and 2 nights (Oct. 22 - 24 in this historic Inn. It was right in the town of Boca Grande and 4 blocks from the beach. The room was comfortable, quiet, and spacious and our hostess answered many questions as we checked in and answered more questions via phone as we were getting settled. It was a warm, restful, and beautiful experience. Jan and Byron B.

Yelp
Palmetto inn--- a few weeks ago we attended a wedding-- we procrastinated and waited to make hotel accommodations. I called Boca Grande Resort and they were fully booked but the property manager was kind enough to suggest a "sister property" in the south end of the island. She let us know that they had just purchased the property and was undergoing some renovations. We needed a place so I told her we would take it! And boy was I glad we did! First of all palmetto inn is located right in the center of the island. A minute walk from the wedding! Wow and although you can see some construction was being done in some of the rooms Our room was great! Clean, cozy, comfortable, cottage feel to it! I loved it! But what you will like the most is how helpful the staff is. Ask for Margarita! She was so informative, friendly and caring! Amazing -- she even drove us to the wedding now that is service! So if you want a clean, cozy, cute, great location. Check this place out! You will be glad you did!
