The Pantheon Iconic, Autograph Collection (Rome, Lazio) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Around the corner from the Pantheon on a narrow side street, an old five-story palazzo was smartly transformed into The Pantheon Iconic, a luxury boutique hotel. The Italian architect Marco Piva and his design studio led the efforts in collaboration with Pacini Building Workshop, enhancing the building’s original structure with modern updates — its elegant archways are now illuminated by sophisticated LED lighting systems, for instance — and borrowing material inspiration from the neighborhood’s most famous landmark. Like the ancient Roman temple just steps away, the Pantheon Iconic, Autograph Collection is lined with fine stone; gold Calacatta marble and black porcelain feature prominently in the lobby, and rooms have rich red marble bathrooms and regal silver and bronze color palettes." - Tablet Hotels

A True Roman Fairytale: The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel From the moment you step through the doors of the Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel, you realize you haven't just booked a stay—you've been granted an invitation into a world of genuine, heartwarming luxury. My recent visit confirmed what many already know: this is, without question, the best hotel in Rome. The hospitality here is truly the warmest I have ever experienced. The staff operates not just as professionals, but as dedicated hosts whose sole purpose is ensuring your comfort and happiness. Beyond merely feeling welcomed, they possess an almost magical ability to make you feel truly special, consistently going out of their way to personalize the experience. Whether it was a perfectly timed, thoughtful amenity appearing after a long day of sightseeing, or a staff member remembering a small detail about my preferences, every interaction felt genuine and tailored. The rooms themselves are nothing short of spectacular. Stepping into our suite was like entering a fairy tale; the design is elegant, romantic, and immersive, transporting you completely away from the bustle of the city and into a personal sanctuary. The attention to detail—from the exquisite linens to the mood lighting—creates an ambiance that makes every moment, from morning coffee to winding down in the evening, feel like a cherished part of a magical, unforgettable vacation. The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel doesn't just offer five-star service; it offers five-star heart. If you are looking for an experience in Rome that transcends typical luxury and delivers a truly special, memorable, and personalized stay, look no further. It is, quite simply, the finest hotel the Eternal City has to offer.

The Pantheon Iconic Hotel is truly exceptional! The property is beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. Our room had every comfort we could want — a great espresso machine, mini fridge, spacious shower, and plenty of storage for clothes and luggage. The attention to detail made the stay feel luxurious and effortless.||The location couldn’t be better — literally steps from the Pantheon and within walking distance of all the major sights, shops, and restaurants. Despite being in the center of it all, the hotel still felt calm and relaxing.||One of the highlights was the stunning rooftop bar with breathtaking views of Rome — the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The complimentary welcome drink was such a nice touch and set the tone for the warm, attentive service throughout our stay.||Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome who wants a mix of modern comfort, elegance, and unbeatable location. I can’t wait to return!

We booked our one night stay using 109k points 5 days before arrival. We arrived in Rome at 10am from an overnight flight and went directly to the hotel. The facility itself was very nice. Unfortunately, they were unable to accommodate an early checkin, but did offer to take our bags to storage, while we explored the city, which was helpful. We returned at approximately 3 pm for checkin. The room we got was an upgrade from a classic king to a deluxe king on a low floor viewing the interior courtyard/service area. It was a very small room with nice finishes. We were notified that any upgrade above the deluxe king would cost an additional 300 euro, despite availability and being a Marriott titanium member. The valet and restaurant staff were very nice, but we hoped for a more curated experience and engaged staff at checkin. We were looking for more information around the neighborhood, hotel amenities and dining options outside the hotel. Breakfast on rooftop was excellent with an exceptional view. They offered a 2 pm checkout the following day after I requested.

The staff is excellent. Very welcoming to a solo traveler. Francesca, the concierge is very hard-working and kind. The rooms are modern and exceptionally clean. I had an issue the first night with a strong sewer smell coming from the shower. Maintenance worked on it two times in one day. The smell was alleviated for a period of time However, it was back again the next day. Management was aware of the problem and moved me to another room that was bigger and nicer. They did this very quickly. I love the location. I love the staff. Very hard-working. The updated rooms. But the plumbing issues are of concern and I feel that management knows and hopefully will address. I don’t believe it’s the staff that are hesitant to address the plumbing issues it’s the Marriott ownership. This will involve tearing out walls to remove the old plumbing. |However, everything in Rome is old. One could encounter this at any hotel in Rome. |You should stay for the location, the staff, the rooftop breakfast and lunch, the updated rooms. If you notice a sewer smell call management they will address promptly. Sewer gas can be dangerous. |Enjoy Rome!

I stayed here for three nights on a business trip and honestly, the service was spot-on from the moment I arrived. Front desk, porter, breakfast crew — everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely helpful. The breakfast team on Level 6 deserves a special shout-out. The manager and his staff really know how to take care of guests. Everything felt smooth, comfortable, and very well run.Great hotel, great people. I’d come back without thinking twice.

We stayed at The Pantheon Iconic just one night as we were getting on a cruise the next day. However, I could have stayed much longer. From the moment the taxi drove up to the hotel, we were treated like VIPs. The lovely woman at reception was kind, professional and answered all our questions fully.|The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable!! We loved having the opportunity to use Aquí di Parma products during our stay.|No request was too big. We would call the front desk and within minutes, our request was filled.|This is a place we will stay again each time we are in Rome! Thank you!!!

The hotel is a beautiful modern Italian hotel with a touch of western hospitality.|The rooms are luxurious but small.|The rooftop is just beautiful for sunset and had a great menu . The gym and spa are well done. The staff was just top notch. Especially Adrian who was in our room several times to fix our coffee maker( which he replaced) The manager Cristian moved us after that and treated us to a cocktail and was just so accommodating.|The best breakfast we had in Rome . Amazing food and just a perfect / safe location , |so close to everything . We walked all over and the staff called cars for us when needed. |They allowed us to stay in our room when we needed to extend our stay when our flight was cancelled. Will return and recommend it for anyone going to Roma.

To repeat another reviewer DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM NEAR THE ELEVATOR. Absolutely sounds as if people are in your room! Waaay too loud and such an easy fix. Never mind the horrid view into the hotel mechanicals shaft. ||Shame. the gap between the hotel visuals, the employee attitude and the room quality couldn’t have been greater. Rooftop bar fantastic, reception outstanding (thanks ladies!) and the service generally excellent! Room itself very nice - except for the nonsensical light switches (seriously). ||I’m in hotels half the year. The noise was unacceptable. Same with the “view”. Soundproof the room, it’s not hard. and at least clean up the mechanical shaft! if it wasn’t one night i would’ve forced a move. Shame.

Yelp
If you are looking for a hotel in the heart of the city by the attractions, then this is the place to stay. This is a small boutique hotel that is right behind the Pantheon. I'm not sure if you can find a closer hotel. The Trevi Fountain is just a 15 minute walk away too. Plus the hotel features a cocktail bar on the top floor that affords beautiful views! As Marriott members we were treated very well with room upgrade, a bottle of wine and more when we visited! The room is a bit dark in decor but once you open your window you'll feel that you are in the midst of the old part of town with good lighting . The bathroom was quite expansive too! I appreciated the big shower after a long day. Lastly the customer service at the front desk was wonderful: we appreciate them calling restaurants on our behalf, especially during the holidays.

Yelp
They need to be culturally inclusive and fair to all guest. This hotel has been on my bucket list since the start of the year! So needless to say, I was more than excited to book this fabulous hotel! And I must say it's absolutely beautiful! However the check in experience we had left us feeling ready to go home before our 5 night in Rome adventure. We understand that the hotel. Has a 3pm check in policy and upon arrival at about 10:30am the receptionist gave us this clear notice about rooms not being ready at the moment and there was no time update that could be given. This was clear and understandable; however as we sat in the lobby we watched several guests, couples and families enter and receive a room before 3pm. When we went to the counter to inquire we was redirected firmly as others checked into a room. There was about 4-5 different individuals/couples/groups that received a room. There was no other guest with our room type that waited until 3pm to check in. I'm not sure if it was the color of our skin, status or nationality, but it felt awful. When we finally got to our room the room was not prepared. The bed was not made there were missing towels, hair on the walls of the shower. It was not a good experience. After speaking with the manager. We was offered 20 dollar coupon off our breakfast meal or a change of room to a higher floor ( but the room change had a time limit) .and we were headed for a Florence day trip. This was degrading and they were not willing to rectify the poor experience.

Yelp
Amazing hotel and just one block from the Pantheon with a short walk to Trevi Fountain, great shopping and an abundance of dining options. Love the decor! So modern and sleek with an ample sized marble sink area in the bathroom for your toiletries. Loved the blackout curtains for sleeping in. Took long showers under the awesome rain shower head and the handheld has lots of pressure. Washcloths are provided and they even brought us a huge bucket of ice, a hard to come by item in Italy for some reason. Pleasant staff and breakfast is your standard offering but was free for us since we stay almost exclusively at Marriott hotels. Our only disappointment was that the street was completely torn up but certainly not the fault of the hotel. Just an FYI if you're staying here in the near future. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
My wife and I spent a few nights at the hotel and truly a fabulous visit. U cannot speak enough about the service, everyone always went out of their way to answer any questions, make recommendations but most important asked us about our happiness and experience. We will be sure to visit on our next trip! Excellence at its best. Mile Grazie

Yelp
This is a relatively new Marriott hotel that opened midyear 2018 and is located in Rome near the pantheon as the name would suggest The staff is literally waiting at the door for you to arrive to assist you with baggage, checkin immediately to begin to make your stay a uncomfortable one We were escorted to our room where all the details and then new technology were explained to us. The new lighting system is designed to give you maximum control but I think sometimes these things get too fancy and over complicated however by the second day we largely had it figured out I can't say enough about the staff and the hotel itself It's a great location and walking distance to many of the sites to see in Rome like the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon I highly recommend this first class property

Yelp
This beautiful hotel is only a year old, and super-modern.The marble bathroom with walk-in shower was gorgeous. Housekeeping stocked the Acqua di Parma bath products twice a day, so we brought home a few extras (see pic). We had a very comfortable king-size bed and plenty of pillows, a 65-inch LG flatscreen with several English channels, a deluxe Nepresso machine, complimentary mineral water daily, and champagne on ice when we arrived. We never drank it, opting instead to go out for a bottle of wine every night. The rooftop restaurant serves breakfast 6:30-10:30 AM with a sunrise view of the city, and drinks with complimentary snacks in the evening. The servers were great, and we made friends with them immediately. However, the breakfast buffet was expensive, €35/pp, so we ordered a la carte. Can't beat the location of this hotel, right behind the infamous 2,000 year-old temple, centrally-located and walking distance to most of Rome. The concierge recommended a couple of excellent restaurants for dinner, and there's also a two coffee bars, a pizzaria, and a very good gelateria right across the street.

Yelp
When they say 3pm checkin they mean it. We came at 11:30 they said room might be ready by 3. It's 2:30 and we're still waiting. Now they gave us keys that don't work. Maintenance people are trying to get it working. Edit: we got moved to a new room. They sent a bottle of Prosecco. Idylio tasting menu was nice but $400 for 2. I'd skip it next time.

Yelp
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL! THEY ARE CROOKS!!!! We booked here last year in hopes to travel late spring/early summer 2021. In February the news said travel restrictions would still b in place by the time we were suppose to go. We quickly cancelled all our reservations for travel. A good 4 months prior to our trip. This hotel says they will refund up to a day before your arrival yet when we canceled 4 months in advance they would not refund our money. As u can imagine a family of 5 reservations is not cheap. We have been going back & forth & sent emails with proof of their refund policy we received upon booking & yet they're feigning ignorance about they're own refund policies. This is so sad & disturbing & basically STEALING. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Yelp
Exquisite, modern luxury in Ancient Rome coupled with warm customer service makes our stay nothing short of wonderful! The Pantheon Iconic Hotel was just absolutely perfect both occasions we stayed (4 night prior to leaving on a cruise and 1 night before flying back home) and was conveniently nestled in the middle of it all! Even with a baby we were able to walk everywhere! Pantheon was right around the corner, Piazza Navona a 5 minute walk, Colosseum a 20 minute walk, and the Vatican a 30-35 minute walk. We never took a cab/transportation anywhere other then the airport and Civitavecchia cruise port. Check-in was smooth sailing. I used the Marriott mobile app to check-in for our 2 rooms and on both occasions our room was ready for us prior to our arrival and were able to anticipate accommodating us by providing our two rooms right next to each other! We were welcomed with an amazingly tasty fruit juice and warm smiles. As a Marriott Platinum Elite member I was offered complimentary breakfast at their rooftop restaurant. The breakfast staff were amazing and the selection available was enough to fuel us each day. Breakfast included offerings like eggs, sausage, assortments of cheese, breads, juices and coffees. Also, free premium WiFi was provided to elite members as well! We also were able to enjoy a couple of evenings sipping prosecco on the rooftop terrace overlooking the city. Surprisingly bottle service was not as pricy as I thought it would be (when compared to the US) and it was always accompanied with complimentary hordeuvres. Rooms were modern, comfortable and had wonderful amenities like Nespresso coffee, Aqua di Parma products, and tons of USB charging ports throughout the room. They also offered a $5 per day phone rental where you could make calls, use data use as a hot spot when in Rome!!My husband and I had our company phones so we were already connected but my brother was able to take advantage of the device during our stay. Beds were comfy and rooms were larger than the typical room in Europe. I read some reviews that people have issues with the light system... and let me say that these people must not be tech savvy because t was really easy for us to figure it out. From the door woman, to the bellhop, to the front desk and breakfast staff, everyone was superb! The Grimm Mestre Family will be back to the Pantheon Iconic Hotel guaranteed!

Yelp
The Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection. The hotel is located near the Pantheon and is very modern and beautiful. The service we received at the hotel was excellent. When we arrived, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. One of the front desk staff members even came up to our room with us and walked us through everything the room has. The room we were given was very spacious and comfortable. One of the best features of this hotel is that they offered us a free cell phone to use during our stay. They called it "Manet". The cell phone included unlimited international calling and data. The phone came preloaded with travel guides to help guests navigate the city and find the best activities, restaurants and services to meet their needs. We loved using it. The one thing I didn't like about our room is that the shower did not have any shelves to place any items. I was forced to put the items I needed to use (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, etc.) on the shower floor. This was a very poor design decision and they really should add a shelf to their showers. Finally, we received complementary breakfast because of my Marriott Status. The breakfast is served on the top floor which has both an indoor and an open roof top seating area. The views are nice. Unfortunately, the breakfast offering was minimal and not as good as many of the other properties I have stayed at. Overall, this is a great hotel, centrally located in the heart of Rome. It is walking distance to many of Rome's top attractions. We really enjoyed our stay, overall, and recommend this hotel.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for the first few nights of our honeymoon and it was great! The rooftop was really beautiful day and night and had plenty of room for us to kick back and relax. Breakfast was delicious and complimentary, service was friendly, and the experience was overall fantastic.

Yelp
One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at for almost $500 per night. Let me give you a list of some of the problems. 1) This is a brand-new hotel that was totally regutted/redecorated. Very few reviews and real-life pics had been posted when I was looking to book because it had just opened in May and I was booking for this past June. What I saw on Marriott's website (the company that actually owns this hotel) were rooms decked out in marble, fine lighting and rich curtains. When we got to the room this is what we saw but the decor is extremely heavy (think heavy silk curtains) and dark (gray walls!). So when the curtains were closed the room was extremely dark and had a cave-like quality. I didn't even mention the reservation process. Since there was no booking online, the website said to call the hotel directly. Ok, so I guess I had to make an international call? Why don't I try the hotel's U.S. number first, I thought. In doing so I had to deal with an apathetic idiot somewhere out in Maryland who didn't know what the word "pantheon" was/where it was/nothing. She couldn't help and told me to call directly, hence I incurred international calling fees. Thanks, Marriott! 2) Lighting system - There was one panel with almost 5 to 7 different buttons to turn on different lights in different parts of the room. Lights would shut off at random times even with the key card inserted in the slot. This became a real inconvenience. 3) Strange interruptions - Someone almost opened the door on us while we were changing! We got so freaked out we called the front desk. FD said that it was the guy who changes the Nespresso machine filter/water that had knocked and thought it was ok to come in! What the hell? I have never heard of anyone with this kind of job description and we didn't hear any knock in the first place! The second weird disturbance is when, after sightseeing the whole day we found the maid in our room at 10 pm folding clothes!!! I was startled to say the least, not expecting anyone at that hour to be in our room. We did not ask for that service at that time, so tell me please, where in the world is it standard hotel policy to enter a room at that hour??? 4) Hospitality - My partner went to the breakfast area just to have a tea and roll while I was sleeping. He thought I would join later when I awoke and hence didn't eat much initially thinking we would eat together. When I entered the breakfast room and saw the breakfast offerings for the price (35-40 euros) I immediately balked and left. The paltry offering of meats and cheeses and rolls was something I had received for free at each hotel (AND more) I had been in before on this trip (thanks NH Collection - Venezia and Porta Rossa!). All of this is to say that they still charged us for the breakfast he barely ate. Being as this is American-owned and American chains are often stingy with feeding people (esp at the high-dollar range) I was not so surprised but definitely insulted. At some other point we asked for water, forgetting about the convenience fridge that was tucked away in the corner. Front desk's answer was to take water from the fridge. Understandable, but yet another nickel-and-dime tactic. We were at a high-end resort in the north of Italy days earlier and we received two large glass bottles per day when the cleaning staff would come (and could have as many bottles as we wanted I am sure). 5) Shower layout - There are no ledges or shelves for placing toiletries on, none I repeat. What this means: place all your shampoo bottles, toothpastes and toothbrushes on the floor once you're done using them. Lean down in the shower to pick them up one by one. Who in the world designed this shower where you're not able to place anything within needed distance??? The shower was literally 4 walls and a shower head with nowhere to put anything!!!!!! This was so uncomfortable and idiotic. I will never stay at this hotel again. American chains sure know how to nickel and dime guests, especially when they're located abroad with their silly charges and lame offerings. Wherever you are, go to a European/other national chain where they actually take care of people. I have stayed with European chains and they are by far superior to American chains with respect to hospitality. One star for the location and nice Ukrainian bell-hop who provided travel advice.

Yelp
Amazing stay! Great location and staff! The hotel is beautiful, walking distance to the pantheon along with some great restaurants. The rooftop is perfect for before dinner drinks and the rooms are a good size! Will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
First impression was~ the rooms are kind of small, but this place grew on me! The staffs are super friendly and thoughtful. This hotel is also close to Pantheon, a beautiful monument that is full of history and beauty.

Yelp
Hard to imagine - it's tall, there is a sun dial opening on the top, first after pagans then a church. Beautiful to see

Yelp
Has everything a Marriot offers, tho rooms are very small. Staff was helpful, tho didn't quite follow through with requests. We were hoping to hire a driver to go to Oriveto our second day. The staff was looking into it for us...we never received a reply. Hotel is near Pantheon and very busy.

Yelp
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this hotel. Attentive and friendly staff, beautifully decorated and situated in a great area of Rome. This hotel went above and beyond to help my family when we had an unexpected event interrupt our trip. This hotel felt more like home. Thank you for all you did to make us feel so comfortable! I can't wait to come back to this hotel someday! We miss you already!

Yelp
Beautiful place to see! Either come early in the morning or late before closing to see less of a crowd. Make your way from right to left and end up in the middle last. There benches to sit towards the front for mass. I was mesmerized by the beautiful architecture and got lost in my own little world trying to distinguish older parts of the Pantheon. It's totally free to come in and As soon as you exit, make a right and there's a side street called Via del Seminario where they have souvenir shops that are cheaper than the rest of that area! Hope you have a great time !

Yelp
This is a Marriott Autograph hotel and it is just wonderful. The customer service from the moment you check in till check out is 5 stars. Our room had the most amazing balcony and we just loved the room and all of the convenience. There was nothing we requested that wasn't provided. The roof top lounge is the perfect sunset location and the mixologists are magicians with style. The morning breakfasts are good and eggs are made to order. Room 509 is one of the best rooms.

Yelp
Buyer beware- this is NOT a Marriott property and trying to use Bonvoy points here is a nightmare. We checked in and the woman who checked us in confirmed our two night stay that we had reserved using Bonvoy points. The next day, late in the afternoon, the front desk told us they actually did not have enough points from Bonvoy for the second night. When we resolved the issue with Bonvoy and confirmed that we have enough points, the front desk was extremely hostile and refused to help. It's now almost 1 AM and we are still trying to connect Bonvoy with the front desk here. What a nightmare. Other issues: the breakfast is mediocre and overpriced. Leave the hotel and you will find a much better and less expensive breakfast. The doors to the rooms are difficult to open. The lobby has an extremely nauseating smell- like an old lady's powdery odor. Housekeeping did not remove our used coffee cups and did not replenish the coffee - I had to remind them twice. The basic room sizes are awkward to move around in even for just two people. The cooling system and lighting system are both difficult to navigate. Finally, the front desk staff on Tuesday evenings are unhelpful and border on hostile. Stay away. There are so many better and less expensive options in Rome. I'm not sure who their target audience is- but we do NOT recommend this hotel. Thanks for making our last night in Rome difficult and exhausting, Pantheon Hotel.

Yelp
I can not say enough great things about the staff and the hotel itself. They were extremely prompt with email requests for car service to and from the airport. We arrived and were pleasantly greeted. They were all very professional and helpful. We entered our room and there was a welcome gift. Our luggage was brought to our room and the attendant that brought it took the time to show us anything and everything about the technology in the room. It was a modernized hotel and room and they even provided us with a cell phone to carry around Rome with free international calls. The bed was comfortable, the hotel and rooms clean, the restaurant and bar were lovely. We sat on the roof top restaurant for breakfast and it could not have been more lovely. I am very picky and this is a top notch hotel in a great location. We will definitely stay again!
