The Paramount

Had a really good time here the other night when I came to see Mikel Erentxun perform. It was my first time coming to this venue and I enjoyed it greatly. Not only was this place fairly easy to find but I also really like to see that people attending the show were granted free parking! Just one block away there was a corner lot with workers directing people to parking spots. A big thank you to the venue for making this happen as it definitely saves you the headache of having to find a parking spot. Plus it felt really safe to be able to park somewhere where there is a lot of light and people. After entering the venue, I noticed it was not very big but there was still a really good crowd there. The show sold out and there was still a lot of room in there, which I really liked. Nothing is worse than having to be inside a venue where everyone is crammed in there like sardines. They also have a big bar as you enter the second floor where they do the shows. The stage was also very up and close to the audience. There is pretty much nothing separating the performers from the people watching which I also enjoyed because it allows us to get a better view of the stage and performers. Additionally, the sound was also very good and I could hear everything clearly, from the piano to the backup vocals. Not bad at all ! Also, I’m happy the first show I got to see here was Mikel Erentxun. He played an amazing show and he really shows how he loves what he is doing and takes great pride in his music and work. I hope to come back here soon and see more artists play.

My favorite venue in LA! Great little venue! Loved the space and the sound was good all night! They had a projector behind the band which is cool for any acts with an AV package. They also had free ice cold water out all night -- love to see it!

As a traveling musician I can simply state that if all venues were run as professionally my life would be INFINITELY easier than it has been for the last 26 years. Fair treatment of "the talent" that matches the best locales that we have ever crossed the stages of. Great sound, professional support staff, and excellent sound. A long stretch of stairs may help folks NOT over imbibe at the show which is likely NOT a bad thing. Loved playing here and watching the acts before us as well as our buddies who played afterward.

little venues are back in a big way!! The Paramount is a perfectly sized venue with full bar and even a little outside patio. there is a pizza shop underneath and a free parking lot, truly giving you everything you need to have a great night!

It's a nice old building very close to El Mercadito, the sound was on point and the place very clean, bottom part is a pizza place ( we didn't try it ) there was no seating but I didn't go to sit down in a concert anyways. Their free parking lot is located about two blocks away. Since it's an old building is not handicap friendly.

Great place to see a band. Pretty good sound system. Free parking a block west of club. They have a noice curfew so bands have to stop playing before midnight. Not the best area but if you are a few friends it's fine. You'll be out of there before midnight anyway

Very intimate venue, and the architecture is awesome. It's easy to find, but I recommend Ubering here as parking is tight. Didn't try the mixed drinks but the draft beer was good. I would come back here for another show, especially since it's historic.

The show was amazing. Unfortunately we had a minor incident where the manager physically grabbed our friend who was looking for her purse saying she was resisting, however, the security Junior who witnessed this event attempted to explain and calm the situation but was not given a appropriate resolution. We will not be back because of this. Junior should be in charge as he actually witnessed the event in full and listened properly. I do not believe it is appropriate to grab someone who is showing zero resistance as our friend was calm the entire time. Very strange behavior from a manager.

Old school since 1924. My friends and I came out to this venue to see Led Zeppelin all female tribute band Zepparella. You have to go through a metal detector to enter and they don't allow in and outs, unless you are going to the pizza joint next door. The interior is beautiful and they have a bar with the usual pricey drinks.

Came to see Manny Toloroche and Carlos y Charlos. Glad I got my tickets with time as this event was sold out. The venue was small but it wasn't overcrowded which was great. Music was amazing had a great time! Staff at the entrance was friendly my only complaint was that doors were suppose to open at 7pm and didn't open till 7:40. Drinks were ok the tequila variety was not that great. But overall had a great time. Ladies if you were heels be prepared to stand ALL night there is no seating or tables.

Currently here at a sold out show and am contemplating leaving before the headliner. While some of the staff were nice making sure to check in with me as I am a disabled patron overall I have to say this was one of the worst live performances I've ever attended . I have no view of the stage ( their ada solution is literally to just place a chair in the back corner of the room . Moreover the speaker is so loud ...I believe on purpose so they can sell more earbuds to patrons . Can't recommend this venue at all .

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Cool new venue for intimate shows; the drinks could use some work. We found out that The Darts would be playing here and had to check it out. It's a newly renovated theater in the Boyle Heights area, with the performance space upstairs. We liked the size and configuration, and the bands looked and sounded great. We were surprised to see Drew Carey (yes that Drew Carey) as the DJ between sets, but then again The Darts did have Fred Armisen as a guest drummer at one of their previous gigs, so there's some connection there with the show biz peeps. Anyhoo, they had some themed cocktails that night and i forget the name of the one I got, but it was way too sweet for my taste. Should've stuck with beer. That said, a promising venue, one that we'll probably revisit before too long.

A great place to see shows! The bar is large and is a fully stocked bar. Bartenders were friendly! The stage is big and the lighting is great! Very roomy room and the outdoor patio is nice when you need a break. The bathrooms were also pretty clean.

First experience at this venue and we saw "Kinky" in concert. End of April show, but it was extremely hot in the upstairs show area. Also, I only noticed one exit from the second floor, which might not be great in case of emergencies. Mostly on street parking in residential neighborhood, but there was one small parking lot a block away, which seemed to fill up quickly. I thought the acoustics for this rock concert were pretty good. They did have a bar upstairs, and I believe I saw one on the first floor as well. The band was over an hour late starting, but I don't know if that was their fault, or the promotional materials from the venue. Overall, we had a good time.

Very awesome pretty cool super nice venue. They have drinks a show and a crowd of people to enjoy the show. Very cool and very awesome indeed. Enjoy the review

I'm reviewing The Paramount as a nightclub, which is in the upstairs area. It had the vibe of a cozy loft with a bar off to one side, a really relaxing patio overlooking the street on the other, with a cool stage planted in the middle. The Paramount gives off cool downtown loft party vibes (yes, there are security guards and a metal detector by the front), but it still gives off the loft party vibe that made the experience more fun and casual than expected. The only negative is parking: there's no lot I saw nearby, so expect to cruise around for a little while before you find a decent spot.

Just returned from my first show at The Paramount and loved it - AC was bumping while it was hot outside, bathrooms were clean, bar was attentive, and the door staff was great. It's rare to find a nice venue for smaller/upcoming acts in a post Live Nation world and The Paramount exceeded expectations. I'll be checking for shows there in the future.

I don't ever venture outside of my comfort zone in the OC but after seeing Spaghetti Cumbia and Teenage Bottle Rocket here, I will always come back. Great venue, the staff is extremely friendly. The bar was fully stocked and I did not have a problem with being served. I hope this place stays open for a long time

I really like this venue, but the last time I attended an event there I asked for a glass of water and was refused - even though a different bar tender had provided me one earlier. The second guy told me I could only purchase bottled water. I understand that the cost of operating an establishment can be high, but given that this venue is located in a working class neighborhood it seems a little backwards and made me sort of sad. Like bro, we're already spending money on drinks and cover charge. Also, I typically drink one glass of water between every drink, and I'll continue drinking alcohol only if this is done. This time I was refused so I did not buy another drink and they lost out on more money that I would have spent on on drinks vs. a bottles of water. Sad.

Awesome place, great art, beautiful bar. Would be great as a small club. If you build it..they will come. lol

I came here with my husband to watch a rock show (Go Betty Go and Audio Karate). We didn't get to check out the downstairs, so this review is solely based on what we experienced upstairs. I'm unsure if there's an elevator to get folks up to the venue who are unable to use the stairs. That's something worth taking the time to inquire about should you plan a visit there. COVID vax cards or a negative COVID test (taken within the last 3 days) are required to enter the space. The space has high ceilings which helped with ventilation. The stage was of moderate size. It seemed like both bands had plenty of space for their instruments and to dance around as they performed. The sound quality was pretty great. I liked that there were security guards posted near the stage so as to keep mosh pits from happening. We're in our late 30s ans early 40s people, somebody is going to break a hip. Calm down! I had a lot of fun and plan on coming back again should there be another band I wish to see

Anyone else try the restaurant in the venue and had a bad reaction? My mom went and said the salad was too salty, the pizza was cold and she came home with a horrible stomach bug that started 2 hours later

Beautiful space, excellent sound, and all around great spot for live music. Kudos to booking: this recently reopened historic spot is featuring an exciting line-up of artists and events, including plenty of local acts. There's a private parking lot a few blocks away, which is a major bonus. There is also food available to order at the (full) bar, but I didn't try their offerings this time around. Check their schedule and come out for a night on the town in Boyle Heights.

Had a blast last night . The bartender was awesome made us some great drinks , friendly place .saw Brainstory perform and they were awesome
