Checked in using a door code as owners had understandable reasons for not being available. Checked out next day without seeing anyone. Nice large room with comfy bed and very quiet. Good range of amenities. Tastefully decorated. However, somewhat overpriced given that breakfast is not available or included.

We stayed in Park Suite 1 with our kids. The apartment has been recently renovated and was fantastic for a family with the layout well thought out and modern. The location was really convenient and it was only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Stornoway. Roddy and Catherine were brilliant hosts and on hand in case we needed anything. Would thoroughly recommend.

Guest house was nice, clean, shower hot, with good water pressure. Wi-Fi poor in upstairs rooms, I needed to go into the hall to get good signal. Tea/coffee/kettle in room, although no clean cups on day two||I arrived from Stornaway airport, it is very small, buses into the centre of Stornaway are not regular, check times on internet, but the cost was only £1.30 for a quick 10 minute journey. If you stop at Tesco just before the main bus station, it’s nearer the guest house, but it’s not much further if you don’t ||Harbour and castle are close to walk - 10-15 minutes with fabulous scenery on a sunny day||Ferry terminal 5 minute walk to guest house as is Tesco, other shops are located near the harbour

First impressions last, we were met by the owner who made it obvious we were a inconvenience from the start. He showed us our "double" room ( number 1) which although quite small had everything you expected. He also stated that there would be no breakfast included in the "bed and breakfast " booking as they had other commitments to fulfil.Furthering our suspicion that we were an inconvenience!|| My wife was not convinced that the room given was the correct room we had booked and on checking our booking confirmation it confirmed that we had booked a larger family to give us more space. We tried for some time to find anyone in the property to rectify the mistake eventually finding a woman who then called the owner back to the property. We explained our concern and expected to be upgraded to the correct room but again we were let down "fully booked and no family rooms availiable and as there were only two of us the double would be big enough"!!||The room was big enough but the bed was uncomfortable , the room was above the kitchen and from 7am - 12pm constant chatting and noise could be heard . The window could not be opened for fear of filling the room of cooking smells from below. The ensuite shower room window was clear glaced and looked out onto a courtyard and street so the blind had to be closed all day and night to give privacy.||Despite being fully booked we never saw another resident the whole weekend nor staff member despite hearing plenty from them in the kitchen. We left our room key lying on the desk on check out as again no staff around.||We may go back to Stornaway but will never set foot in Park Guest House again.

I stayed here overnight before taking the ferry back to the mainland. I have to say that I was really quite disappointed, particularly given the prices that are charged. The two stars are for the fact that I was allowed to check in earlier to leave my luggage, the guest house is in a good location (close to centre of town and next to ferry terminal) and the owners were friendly. However, as a solo traveller I was boxed away in a very small bedroom under the stairs in room 3. I barely had room to put my luggage on the floor, the window wouldn’t shut properly so it was very noisy due to the traffic on the main road, there was no main light in the bedroom, the WiFi didn’t reach to the room properly and the TV didn’t work. I was also disappointed to see that the toilet and bathroom facilities (both separate from each other) were found at the opposite end of the guest house meaning I had to pass several other bedrooms each time I needed to use the facilities. The breakfast provided was really quite greasy and the milk had split and curdled in my tea. The atmosphere was also very flat. Overall, not good enough for the prices that are charged. I did explain these issues to management upon checking out but it just seemed to be shrugged off.

This guest house was an absolute gem! They kindly accommodated our complicated needs and made us very welcome. Our room was very well furnished, shower room was beautiful and the annex room for our kids (with bath) was ideal…we also ate a delicious supper in the restaurant. A lovely place from which to explore the island.

Nice place, friendly staff. Room was large and clean. Not the most modern, but very nice. Breakfast is extra.||||The guesthouse has free street parking immediately behind, on a very safe road. It's about a five to ten minute walk to Stornoway town centre with bars and restaurants. The ferry is minutes away too.

We ate in Cafe 30 which is the restaurant of this guest house and sister to North Harbour Bistro. We weren't sure what to expect but as it came highly recommended by various islanders and restauranteurs we gave it a go. As it was during eased lockdown everything was done very safely, from track and trace registrations to distanced tables. The food was not what we expected at all despite the various recommendations - simply delicious and a bit of a 'WOW'. Keep an eye on this place - it's going to be the Star of Stornoway where the food is concerned - it just needs a little love on the decor but if it's purely down to the food then it's a must!

Yelp
a little late writing this one (august stay). The interior is dated and worn in places, BUT clean ! I had to wait quite a while for host to show up - i think this was more about covid protocols and not their normal way of doing business. but be aware - they are not always onsite. Basic hot pot with coffee and tea options. Room was small size, bed ok. Old furniture but everything was very clean and well maintained. I reserved ensuite but room wasn't working or something, so bathroom for room i was given was down the hall at the opposite end of room. Breakfast was a 'challenge". on site restaurant was closed. hours for local options were all wrong - not BnB fault, but take that into consideration if onsite meal is important. there is restaurant across the street but buffet is major part of meal service (no thank you during covid) or fried fish or very over cooked hamburger. Bathroom was clean, well appointed shower only. Lighting in room was ok - hard to use desk because it was stuffed between bed and wall, so i ended up sitting on bed to use natural light from window. Room was not what i reserved - some issue with the one i reserved - so i will chalk that up to maintenance. Nothing "bad" but nothing over the top "awesome" either. It is clean and basic. Very expensive for a basic room. You are 15 mins walk to the ferry - which was why i picked this location. There is a grocery store about 5 mins walk down the road. Plenty of places in town to eat but make your reservation for dinner (WEEKS) before you travel. there is no "walk-in" during covid -- even though window signs say it is okay - it just doesn't work.

Yelp
The Park Guest House and Restaurant is a 4 star establishment. Only a few minutes walk from the town centre, it's ideally located as it's close to the town but far enough away where you won't be disturbed by noise. The road outside it is usually quiet on the evenings. If you are coming by ferry it's only a 5-8 minute walk or a 10 minute car journey if coming by plane. Their restaurant has one of the best chefs on the island. Many people tourists and locals come here for dinner as it's just delicious! Of course there are other places to eat, there's a great eatery across the road and the new Tesco's is a 2 minute walk down the road as well.

Yelp
The Park Guest house it situated just a few minutes from the town centre and just opposite from the Cala Hotel. The builfing itself is an old town building with lots of quaint features. Staff are very friendly and though the road is one of the main ones into the town centre it's never too busy and it's very quiet at night. I can highly recommed the restaurant, though it's expensive so more of a special occasion place to go. There's a nice atmosphere and decor and the food is delicious, with a lot of it being local produce
