The Park Hotel

Very Disappointed —Lost Money - Poor Attitude and Lack of Hospitality I am staying at this hotel for business trip and this is not my first time i am staying here. Until this time becamd my last time, beginning with check in, i was came late afternoon and the lady in front desk staring at me wifh the cold and sinical eyes without any greeting. I fill up my registration form, and even i am repeater whch every year come they still need to check my bill arrangement. I feel bad this good hotel has no sysfem, and lack hospitality from fhe team. The attitude is BIG 0! When i went to the temple in the morning two ladies starring at me from head to toe at the front office. Is that behaviour you have to guest? On the check out time, i told my friend i lost USD 200 because i know exactly i check my money frequently and just now it was gone. But what we get ? We get the housekeeping manager super defensive without helping us and talking with high tone to us. The GM and FOM was gone. This is not about the money but this hotel has no attitude at all from top to down level Please avoid fo stay here ! Fabulous place to stay when visiting Kolkatta. Zen restaurant has one of the finest Asian cuisine. Must visit the restaurant when in Kolkatta. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. The Sunday brunch has endless variety to choose from. The staff is courteous polite and friendly. Always ready to help.

We booked this hotel through Make My Trip for my family tour.The cost was on high sides. We booked for 5 people in which kids below 5 yrs were free stay. The location is good because of its proximity to nearby market and hustle street of Kolkata. It was good to see staff in dress escorting visitors to reception area. No welcome drinks offered nor any security check conducted. Checkin was too slow. We offered a very small room which I was not expecting. The interior of room was not up to the mark of 5 star hotel as mentioned. What we love the dine in area which named as The Bridge. Breakfast was good, my kids enjoyed it. The bar area was also good. Overall alleyway were decorated with some antique map and stuff which was adding to its uniqueness and which shows property is old but special one to stay in. The hotel has liquor store lounge and club area which is good. Lift security is good but need card permission of lift incharge for going up. They provide cab services but the rate is on his gher side. Overall it was good stay but rating of hotel is not like 5 star it should be near 3 star.

You don't stay at the Park, you experience it. If there has to be a Hotel California, it would be here. The grandness does not intimidate, the warmth welcomes you. The Park is still in its youth and refuses to age The staff stands out, always smiling and making your stay comfortable. Rooms are well laid out. Breakfast is amazing. With delicious Luchis, Club Kachori, Jalebi, mishti doi... you give a pass to regular dosa, vada idli. The Chef is always around , making sure Guests are enjoying the dood. Credit to Chef to make humble Aloo so flavorful. Do not miss the omlette. The Park Kolkata is indeed a benchmark for Hospitality.

I have stayed at The Park Hyderabad with my family with 2 rooms for 8 nights and it was a wonderful experience, the staff (from the reception to the restaurant handlers to house keeping) was so welcoming that I wanted to extend my stay but couldn't due to it being fully booked. The room had good decor and the amenities per room was adequate. But The Park Kolkata is a whole different story. Since I stay in Kolkata, I don't have a requirement to be a guest at The Park Kolkata, but ever since my Hyderabad experience I wanted to experience the same just couple of hours from home. But boy oh boy was I disappointed. The room was so small and there were only one set of toiletries even though I booked for two. I was almost embarassed infront of my friend to whom I have praised to such extents about The Park experience. The decor was bare minimum and the worst part is the shower over the bathtub, that is totally a motel thing I have seen for the first time in a 5 star room. I was not asked if I wanted a smoking room and hence the smell of smoke ruined half of whatever hopes were left after entering and staring at the room. The staff was courteous (although the bare minimum courteous), but the guard at the gate was so unwelcoming that I really had the first thought whether I should just head back home. At The Park Hyderabad they always had the lunch buffet but it was also amiss here, although that can be understandable. But when room prices are reaching ₹12k instead of the regular ₹5k, you would expect there to be a buffet spread.

Its always a pleasure staying in The Park Kolkata. I keep coming here for official trip and this is the place and its vibe which is very different from any other places in Kolkata. Staff is really courteous and helpful. Breakfast and other services are excellent.||Best part is that u don't need to go out anywhere else.. As they have Tantra, Roxy and Someplace else.. Enjoy

I enjoy the Park ambience and the electronic music. The only complaint I have is that the underground parking is a mess. Our drivers are safely taking us back to our abodes so it is important to make them feel comfortable while we experience the Park. The gym has good treadmill collection for cardio. The free weights and trainers are great. The machines need fine tuning anc check-up as they can cause some discomfort.

All Calcuttans of our generation have grown up walking beside this iconic hotel. Have stayed there for the first time though only to have my heart broken. No doubt it’s an old property, however, lacks maintenance. Found people smoking in non smoking lobby, no security checks of who are going in and out of the hotel, strange rules of check-ins by receptionist, dirty pool. The jacuzzi was good though. Staff behaviour is good.
