I've had worse apartments, but at least I knew what I was paying for. I hardly sleep every night due to the constant noise by my window. The construction materials for such an expensive place are cheap and probably designed to break so they can keep the security deposit. There are so many issues at the complex with such a high price tag that I almost hate it here. Below are a few issues:
My whole building smells like pot (I don't mind people doing their thing, but don't affect my living space).
Overcrowded parking, lack of space, illegal parking.
Overcrowded amenities, I don't feel like I can use the gym, but here I am paying for it.
I saw a guy with an ankle monitor on. Another guy pissing on the side of our building.
Cars blasting music and speeding down after 9pm when I use my bike to commute.
Mail room always has issues (late/missing packages). Never got my debit card and it cost me so much inconvenience which will never got accommodated because no one takes accountability.
The CONSTANT lawncare services. I don't care about the grass needing to be a perpetual 1cm long, why does every resident gotta pay for this asinine service? Not to mention the cheap materials include the windows which do not block that much sound (which I find super counter-intuitive if you're going to put people near main roads where you hear gunshots, loud music, cars racing, motorcycles doing donuts in parking lots, even people talking outside) In short, I don't get sleep.
The rules are ridiculous and the late fees (10%) for ONE DAY late rent is LUDICROUS. No window of amnesty? No forgiveness? And if you're with a roommate and THEY are late, despite CO-LEASING, ALL residents are punished with the household 10% and not just the split rent rate. Spare me the excuses. It's ludicrous.
The only saving grace, the staff is very nice and helpful when they can be and the property looks nice, but it's too much a price tag for a place I use to sleep between shifts for work.
