Amazing pasta, easily the best pasta I've had. Toppings seemed stingy at first glance but it's genuinely perfectly balanced. Insanely good, go try it. Just wish the garlic bread was bigger. Also crazy cheap prices for the quality

Great attentive service but not sold with the Fettuccine Carbonara, very bland although the pasta itself was great. Pizza was scorching hot at the bottom but toppings were cold as ice! Would likely come back to try a different pasta even though Carbonara is my favourite

We ordered a Cabonara and some other pastas. Which I feel the Cabonara was delicious. However it is a little expensive for us. Hope the owners/owner can lower the price for the dine in or increase the portion especially for the large Cabonara. The lady who took our orders today was super friendly and sweet. Definitely would recommend this place to others! Ate here on 16 November 2023 12-1pm.( updated my review with photos I forgot I had)

If you’re after a quick, cheap, average-tasting takeaway pasta meal, by all means try The Pasta Merchant. If you want something you’d find in a ‘fine dining’ establishment, this is not the place for you. Based on other reviews, I think we were just unlucky on the night. The garlic bread was very ordinary, and the chicken and mushroom pasta had little chicken and almost no mushroom. That said, the order was completed quickly, it tasted fine, and it filled our bellies. We shall try again.

Highly recommend their pasta dishes. Our pesto chicken spaghetti, and spaghetti bolognaise are delicious. We really enjoyed their fresh pasta. We also enjoyed the coconut/chocolate gelato. We enjoyed sitting in their outdoor tables, but there are a number of tables inside. Thanks team for a wonderful dinner.

Really lovely little joint. Was initially not sold on the Papyrus font signage (snobbish, me?) but the food is genuinely good. Al dente pasta, very generous sized portions (for the large), and very reasonable prices for the food being served. Most importantly, very quick if eating in-store (as most of their orders seem to be takeaway, which is understandably slightly cheaper). And there’s good gelato next door! Note: the fettucine is American-style (i.e. cream, no eggs, bacon not pancetta). No judgment, just good to know what to expect.

Yelp
This is a good option if you are looking for a cheap and cheerful dinner. It seems to be avery popular takeaway spot for locals - but we opted to eat in. It's not fine dining - the food is pre-prepared and heated up in a microwave, but it was surprisingly good. The pasta was al dente and the sauces were tasty. We ordered a couple of pasta meals, a salad and a gelato and it came to about $20 per head - very reasonable.

Yelp
The service was quick and friendly, the pasta sauce itself was tasty, and the menu options looked good - some old favourites and some interesting and different flavour combinations. The actual pasta in my meal (fettuccine) was so incredibly overcooked that it was disintegrating as I mixed the parmesan through. The pasta was flavourless and textureless when I expected (from a place called The Pasta Merchant) that it would be the star of the show. It didn't look or taste like egg pasta that I'd make at home. It didn't even look like quality supermarket pasta. I was very disappointed. They clearly do a roaring trade in takeaways, and my family loves this place, so I'll give it the benefit of doubt - I'll probably be back and I hope I have a better pasta experience next time.

Yelp
Love this place. Fresh gnocchi is special! This is my favourite pasta lunch in Launceston. Parking is usually available. Ice cream selection is handy.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE PASTA. I am a small 60kg 5.5ft local Tassie girl and I eat three mains in one sitting because it's so good. Recommend literally every dish on the menu. Best local secret in Launceston. BEST. They also do gelato, which is heaven. Parking can be tricky.

Yelp
Delicious fresh pasta and gelato, great value for money. Very popular with the locals.
