The Peak Lounge & Bar

The view alone makes this place absolutely worth visiting. The panoramic views over Tokyo are insane and easily some of the best in the city. It really feels like a hidden gem, especially considering how calm and elegant the atmosphere is compared to other rooftop bars or observation decks. It is a great place to slow down, enjoy the moment, and just take in the skyline. The prices are definitely high, but for one or two drinks it is completely worth it for the experience. I paid around 4,500 yen for an Old Fashioned, which is expensive, but the quality of the cocktail, the service, and the setting make it justifiable. This is not somewhere you come for a long night of drinking, but rather for a memorable stop and an unforgettable view. Highly recommended if you are in Tokyo and want to experience the city from above.

Park Hyatt is one of the most old prestigious hotel. So naturally they have an amazing quality for food and service. We purchase the Peak of Love afternoon tea. The volume was fulfilling. They are quick to serve the drinks too. The only downside is the building feels old. We get to choose our seats. But since we are late for 10 minutes we get to choose either the corner or no skyscraper view. Above than peak of love there is another afternoon tea course that is more expensive. It’s called signature peak of love, which is even grander than peak of love with the price difference around 1500yen. If you can book in advance getting that one would be very worth it. But since the volume is big. Skip the breakfast, lunch and dinner will also be sufficient. Would come back in the future for the more expensive afternoon tea course and going early!

We arrived a bit late and the lounge was already closed but we could stay there as much time as we wanted to enjoy the magnificent views of Tokyo. A relaxing music was playing what made the moment very romantic and special. It brought us memories of the movie Lost in Translation, that was recorded here. We will certainly come back on a future trip. The rooms in this hotel will be renovated during 2024. Another good reason to come back.

We came for high tea. It was a blast and the tea menu is expensive. Inside, Chinese, Sri Lankan and several excellent Japanese green teas that would be hard to experience otherwise. Te food was excellent but the tea was the amazing part. The service started with an excellent Australian sparkling. The views are also incredible.

Went for Halloween High Tea. Everything was spectacular. It was such good value for what we got, and the service was great. I do wish I had more savoury options as I did think it was a lot of dessert, but everything was so well done.

The welcome drink was the best. The great taste of Darjeeling tea, Earl Gray tea and savory. The sand beach is made of almond powder. This place is sophisticated and recommended for tourists.

Afternoon tea is one of my favorite things. This is now, by far, my favorite place. All the food was bite-sized and DELICIOUS. Nothing I had was unsatisfactory. You start with a drink and whatever set you order (sweets only or some savory lunch stuff and sweets) and then people come around with trays FILLED with more savory and sweet stuff. If you leave hungry it’s on you. The tea selections are great and the service was on point.

Provides a great view of the city. The afternoon tea is filling and can serve as lunch with all the food, there are a few savory ones but most are sweet, you get unlimited drinks with a wide selection of tea and coffee. There is also a spa section at the top and if you book an hour of spa you can get a free afternoon tea as part of the deal. It's on the expensive side but I would recommend to 6go for special occasions!

I tried going up to New York bar first, because like everyone I heard about it from Lost in Translation. When I got upstairs there was no room by the window and the windows were fogged up anyway. So I heard about a prix fix menu at Peak Lounge a few floors down and it was outstanding! I got a nice seat and small table by the window (no foggy windows), and got to enjoy a beautiful view, along with a multi course dinner and unlimited drinks for 2 hours. Gotta add, the drink options were not bottom shelf, there was a nice selection of good quality liquor and wine. The whole experience was affordable and amazing and probably one of my favorites from all my visits to Japan.

A great place to take in the view and wind down after a day in the city. A great selection of American style cocktails and bites.

I've been to this lounge a few times for afternoon tea and have to say I think the Park Hyatt has the best high tea in Tokyo. The combination of food dishes, a wide tea selection, fantastic view, and consistent service make it stand nicely above the high tea services at Andaz or the Shangri-La. Afternoon tea this past Monday included the usual spread of tea and sweet & savory snacks. I always appreciate that the staff are happy to accommodate allergies and sub out seafood items for other food. My favorite items are the scones with ham and clotted cream (I just wish they'd call them something else besides "clotted cream," which sounds kind of nasty in English). The tea menu includes a nice array of green, Puerh, herbal, and other teas. And of course, the view is wonderful, especially if you're lucky to be there on a clear afternoon. Finally, the Park Hyatt's pricing is quite competitive with other (lesser) high tea services. Yay all around!

We went a few times during our week in Tokyo simply because of the great ambiance (and the desserts). Each time we indulged in the mont blanc and the crêpe, both very light and delicate. Something to note if you are looking to have food or drinks is that the last order is at 10pm, so after that you might consider moving to the New York bar 10 floors above the lounge.

At the Peak Lounge, the "Peak of Joy" lounge/dining experience is 5800 yen per person for a small selection of seasonal dishes and unlimited drinks, including alcoholic beverages! We are not big eaters, so we were decently full at the end of this, but the serving size is less than a full meal for most people. The food selection consisted of: Mixed Lettuce Leaves: A large colorful salad with romaine lettuce, purple cabbage, tomatoes, yellow bell peppers, bread sticks, and two types of dressing. Appetizer Stand: A three-tiered selection of appetizers, including one with prosciutto, one with fish, and a really tasty cold broccoli soup. Selection of Main Courses: A three-tiered assortment of entrees, including one with fish, one with chicken, and a rotini pasta with tomato sauce. Chef's Dessert: A refreshing cup of coffee jelly layered over matcha pudding and topped with a variety of fruit. The smooth coffee and bitter matcha flavors were perfectly contrasted with the tartness of the fruit. Delicious! Hands down, the best part of this experience is the spectacular view of the city that you get to enjoy. Ok and also UNLIMITED drinks! (Within the allotted two-hour window, that is.) They have a nice selection of liquor and cocktails, and the service is friendly and attentive. Definitely a must!

The Peak Lounge is on the 41st floor and offers a good view. No wait, it offers a fantastic view that will blow your mind. Seriously. The design of the lounge contains variations of bamboos that mimic the outdoor nature of Japan. With the glass ceiling, it makes this place seem enormous, with lots of open space. Worth bringing your best friend, daughter, dog or grandfather/mother here! In addition to having the tea time, I also had their lunch menu, which was quite tasty and reasonably priced! They periodically come around with 4 additional choices of savories and sweets, respectively. (Unfortunately, the choices of savories and sweets do not change throughout the afternoon.) You can take as many or as few as you want, which is perfect for those who prefer savories more than sweets, or vice versa, of course! The way they serve the tea stand, lunch and drinks, it's so tranquil and nice. Would definitely recommend tourists and travelers alike to check it out!

This is a cool lounge to chill out and meet with colleagues or partners to chat. Seats are out in the open and relatively private. Seems like maintenance comes by regularly just to maintain the garden, which is always nice to see when you're 41 stories high. Peak Bar is also nearby. For Diamonds, you get comped drinks and pastries, between 5-9PM. At GHT, it would be open the whole day so that's a trade-off between GHT vs. PHT. Keep in mind this is not the swanky 'Lost in Translation' bar. That one is on the 52nd floor.

Great deal for Hyatt diamonds who get free drinks and appetizers from 5-9pm. 5* views but Subtract 2* for inconsistent service.

Try this bar to check out the fantastic views of Tokyo. It's on the 34th floor versus the New York Bar on the 42nd, but it doesn't charge cover and we thought the view was just as great.

While staying in the hotel on a brief visit to Japan, I was in desperate need of refreshment, and The Peak did not disappoint. The view, as you can see from the photos, is terrific. The seating was open-plan, but I felt like my conversation was still relatively private. Five stars for a terrific experience.
