Yelp
This is for the deck menu not restaurant Two Antipasto Sandwiches Good meat ratio to bread Lots of meat nice bread The only issue is that it was real cold like it was made earlier in the morning or made by someone else. Should offer to have it warm so cheese could melt Dr Pepper for some reason it was real sweet and delicious

Yelp
They let us wait for half an hour despite there were plenty of seats available. Unacceptable.

Yelp
As the only restaurant around, I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of food and service here. We've been here the past two nights and I had the Duck and Ribeye - both were delicious! The Burger, Chicken wings and Trout Almondine were also good. Finished with a nice scoop of ice cream. Prices were okay, considering they have to bring everything in a long way. Servers Rebecca and Leslie are amazing, and the Manager is very kind, especially when they make a slight mistake. The restaurant is beautiful, not too crowded, and with gorgeous views. I recommend making a reservation. They are on OpenTable. Staying at the Lodge, there are not many options, but I highly recommend this isolated gem.

Yelp
We stopped by the peaks restaurant in Wuksachi Lodge for lunch while we were at Sequoia National Park. We had to place an order at the counter and get an order number. This took around 15 min since there were several groups ahead of us. They bring your order out to you, but water is self-service. We chose to sit indoors since it was a very hot day. There is plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. We got a great table by the window and could look out into the national park while we ate. We got the baked acorn squash. The other vegetarian options were the soup of the day, 2 salads, a personal pizza where you pick the toppings, and a vegan hummus wrap. The baked acorn squash was delicious! It had a quinoa and goat cheese filling and was very flavorful. The roasted carrots and brocolini it came with were well roasted and had good flavors. You can pick a soup or house green salad with it. We picked the salad, which was ok (didn't like the dressing much). My husband also got the chicken wings, which he said were pretty good. Overall, the food was much better than what we were expecting and it was surprisingly very vegetarian friendly! It is a little pricey though!

Yelp
There is now table service in the dining hall again, but plan to dine earlier, or wait a bit for a table as it fills up quickly. You can easily snag a drink at the bar while you wait, but there is limited indoor seating while you wait (this is a smaller lodge). This is not fine dining, but the food was genuinely good, if not complicated/fancy! Our filet was cooked perfectly to medium rare and was a quality cut of meat. The summer salad was huge and had very fresh fruit in it - easily could be a light meal on its own. I liked it so much I ordered it twice. The lunch pizza is better than the evening pizza but both were hot and fresh. We had two wraps with chips - the chicken salad and the hummus wrap - and they were both ok with the hummus being the winner. Cocktails were good too. There is some variety in the demeanor of wait staff, but our service was always timely.

Yelp
Highly recommend!! Stayed four nights and each night dined at The Peaks. The food, ambiance and the best part of our experience, was the personal touch from staff!!! Starting and finishing with Brent who went over and above from the bar to the dining room! Thank you to the entire staff at The Peaks!

Yelp
For being the sole restaurant in the only hotel located in Sequoia National Park, this place is as good as it can be. With that being said, wait times for food is not normal. Expect to wait a little bit, as folks from both the hotel and those visiting the park may be coming together at peak times. The service here is what you expect. There are more visitors than wait staff so they can be overwhelmed at times, but they try their best to keep their cool demeanor and ensure you're having a good time. They ID every single person, regardless of how you look. They will ID you. Don't take offense to it, and please follow their rules. The food here was good. My wife got the chicken pot pie, which she begrudgingly gave me a bite of. Very, very good. I got the chicken wings, and they were as expected -- your typical buffalo chicken wings. The dining hall is a big open area with very high ceilings. There are also big windows that line the walls so you can see all the trees outside. Ambiance was *chef's kiss*. Overall, had a good time here!

Yelp
Amazing tasting food, reasonable prices, and great atmosphere. The drinks inspired from around the world are so good! Highly recommend all of them. We've eaten here multiple nights and are very please. You can tell some of the staff is worn out from busy season, but for the most part are very kind and accommodating.

Yelp
We dinner and the breakfast buffet. Typical breakfast buffet for 24 bucks eggs, sausage, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, juice, regular coffee, cheap pastries etc. Dinner not too much to select from on the menu very limited. Did the steak and a salad with strawberries and blueberries. Order came with pea soup not bad. Steak and salad was a great size to share between 2 people and surprisingly good for being a place In middle of a forest. Just didn't like having to wait in line to order before sitting was strange set up and if you got there at a certain time be a long wait.

Yelp
My breakfast was good. Def better than several other national parks. Always seems the food is not the greatest but it was pretty good here. I enjoyed my cup of joe as well. Not too strong nor too weak, just right. Their dining area is nice surrounded by trees and a lot of sunlight enters their windows. The service was good. I placed my order and was waiting in the dining area. One of the cleaning staff came over and advised me he would check on my food. I hadn't been waiting a long time either. Thank you

Yelp
The food was mind blowing especially the ribeye also, the service was good in fact that, manager was so respectful when he messed up our order but then continued to fix it with a sincere apology. The ambience was amazing especially the view of the sequoias from the windows.

Nicholas R.

Yelp
This is regarding the pizza counter outside: Waited over an hour for a pizza and a cold sandwich... I mean come on. Went to inquire about the order multiple times. Friend waited over an hour for them to pour a bowl of chili. When he went to check on it, they didn't even realize he had ordered and paid. Gave it to him then. It's the only place to eat inside the park at night so that's fun. Pretty sad.
google avatar

Jean H.

Yelp
Food was better then expected based on other reviews and the fact that this is inside a national park. Probably the best food I've had inside of a national park. Staff was kind and friendly . Came here for dinner and steaks were big and juicy . Vegetable soup was good and trout was excellent. Great ambiance looking out into the forest. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I'm honestly surprised this place is so poorly rated. I think if it were in a normal town or city it would deserve the 2.8 it currently has but when you consider how remote it is and that it is in a National Park you should cut it some slack. It's decent food at a reasonable price in a place where they could easily charge double because you have no other options. My wife and I visited after spending 3 nights in the nearby national forest. Service: Pretty average but they were friendly and brought us our food in a reasonable amount of time. The ordering process could have been smoother, but we were glad for the wine and pizza after making camp meals for 3 nights. Food: Also pretty average but again, we were going out to eat in a National Park so we were happy to get what we did. We split a pizza which was more than enough and cost about 19$ and each got a glass of wine which wasn't garbage and only cost 8$ a glass. All seemed pretty resonable given the location. Ambiance: Actually pretty nice! There was a lovely deck with heat lamps and umbrellas for various weather conditions. We had been hiking for days so we chose to sit inside, which was a large dinning hall with a fireplace at the end. Great views out the windows with simple chairs and tables.

Yelp
One of maybe 2 or 3 dining options while in Sequoia/Kings Canyon so the higher prices are expected. Food options aren't great but food was decent. We came in for lunch and we ordered at the bar and sat ourselves. Other than servers bringing the food, they were nowhere to be found. The restaurant is located at the lodge at the top of a mountain with a nice view. Restaurant has a nice cabin/lodge type feel.
google avatar

Evan H.

Yelp
As one of the only restaurants in/near Sequoia National park, you may need to eat here during a visit. The atmosphere is pretty nice and the lodge is very scenic. The pizza was a little underwhelming and was rather pricey for the size. I understand it'll be priced like an airport because there aren't really any options around. :)

Yelp
Yummy pizza, fresh draft beer, they have daily specials that are not on the regular menu too - we tried the root beer marinated pork ribs and they were fall-off-the-bone tender and very flavorful! the potato wedges were kinda of undercooked and a little disappointing, but everything else was great! oh - wish that they don't close in the afternoon... we got there at 4 and had to wait for them to open... there are plenty of tables out on the deck, I just wished that I'd stayed at this Lodge during my trip so I could enjoy more of the space and view!

Yelp
I wish there was an option for more than five stars! Excellent service paired with exquisite entrees provided an incredible experience for my family and I. Wound recommend this spot to anyone near Sequoia National Park! The filet mignon was amazing!!

Yelp
The Peaks is a restaurant located in the same building as the Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia National Park, CA. While it is extremely convenient for it to be in this somewhat remote and secluded area, it is quite disappointing that they were not open when they told me they would be for breakfast one morning (9/10/20). The night before, my family and I had dinner and drinks here, though. For draft brews, they had Lagunitas IPA, Blue Moon, Bud Light, Stone Brewing, and a few others. I tried the General-Sherman IPA ($8.50) because I typically enjoy IPAs. It was good! My brother was given a sample of the Gen-Sher IPA. He wasn't a fan. Lol. So he stuck to Bud Light ($7). Our kiddos shared a sausage pizza (12" for $17) which they thoroughly enjoyed. My brother and I each got a brisket plate with potato wedges ($18.95 per plate). The brisket BBQ sauce was infused with Gen Sherman IPA. Of course, it's pricey, but the convenience factor is huge (when they are actually open when they say they will be) considering the long, winding road that leads to the lodge from Three Rivers. The staff was real nice. Social distancing and masks during COVID were required. Dogs are allowed in the lobby and on the outdoor lobby.

Yelp
Overall stars this restaurant gets is three stars. Good atmosphere with windows open to Sequoia trees, and snowy mountains. Their meal dishes are good, but avoid Teriyaki chicken. No flavor, and no taste. They refunded my money for one dinner after complaining. Good staff.

Yelp
We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, we arrived at 6PM, which wasn't too bad. We hit the gift shop and then went to the bar while we waited. Once seated, the views were inviting, as was the decor and historic photographs on the walls. We enjoyed the filet mignons and a soup plus salad. Each was delicious, but I suggest ordering your meat one temperature above what you like as the cook on both was rare when we asked for medium-rare. It's still delicious, though. The meal was wonderful until dessert - Avoid their creme brulee. It lacked any flavor, the custard was grainy, the sugar crust was very, very thin, and it was served in a soup cup..it should be served in a shallow dish. It tasted worse than store bought.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
The food was okay, not outstanding but the atmosphere and view was amazing. Service was excellent. We enjoyed it!

Amber S.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant because we were staying at the Wuksachi lodge. Right from check in the front the desk gentleman (awesome) told us we should make reservations. The food was amazing! Menu was small (which I saw from other reviews). We enjoyed the ribeye and the special for tonight chicken Parmesan. We sat at the bar and Zach was our bartender. He was top notch! Great banter and he makes a mean cocktail! Overall great experience! Awesome staff! The hostess was very warm and welcoming to all guests!

Christopher A.

Yelp
Got food fast. Great creme brulee. Nice wine. Filet mignon on point. Margarita our server took care of us.

Walker J.

Yelp
The service is horrible I waited over an hour just to get my food the menu is not the best would rate 0 if possible

John J.

Yelp
This place would be so much better if they could take orders more efficiently. We had about 10 groups ahead of us, and it took 45 minutes to get to the front of the line to place our orders. Not hyperbole, literally. They were out of many things, but nobody knew till they got to the front of the line which added 5 minutes to every order while people figured out backups. The staff could have put out a sign (besides the tiny one by the register) or walked down the line letting people know what items were available (less than half the menu). There were two women at the front, but one was mostly standing around, while the other woman took orders and poured drinks. Here are some ways you can improve: Two registers. Walk down the line taking orders while people wait to pay. This gives you the chance to inform people about what is available and answer questions without blocking. Move the register away from the taps so someone else can pour drinks before or after payment. The register area is crowded and dead ends, figure out a better arrangement. If you follow even half of these ideas, you can cut down the time spent in line by an order of magnitude.

Yelp
This is the only full service restaurant in the park. We stopped in to check out the lodge on our way to King's Canyon. For a light snack, we ordered the chopped salad and seafood chowder to share. At first, I was going to order the seafood chowder in the sourdough bread bowl, but once our server said it was like a Manhattan chowder, I downgraded to a cup. Thank goodness he gave me the heads up! I took two spoonfulls of it and then had the bf eat the rest. Very fishy. The chopped salad was a good sized portion. It was not overdressed and the white corn was a nice touch. Service was friendly and helpful. If you want a full-service sit down option in Sequoia NP, this is the place to be...cuz it's the only place to be.

Susie L.

Yelp
Despite the limited menu (several items were unavailable on a few evenings) and long lines to order dinner, we still enjoyed dining here several times during our stay at the lodge. The staff is extremely pleasant, our meals were prepared quickly, and overall the food was delicious! A bit pricey for the amount, but considering it's the only real dining option in the park, we were fine with it. Our favorites were the Caesar salad and personal pizzas, but the chicken teriyaki and chicken pot pie were good too. (French onion soup was just ok.) I also appreciated that cold water was available for self-serve, it allowed us to refill our glasses quickly (we drank a ton of water at dinner after hiking all day.) We only did takeout breakfast; the pancakes, fruit, and sausage patties were great.

Yelp
We came here around 2 pm for lunch. The wait was long with the lunch rush. We ordered the vegetable caprese sandwich and the special of the day which was a fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. They were out of most of the soft drinks by the time we ordered. The caprese sandwich was cold and soggy, it was made earlier in the day. The chicken sandwich was dry and both the chicken and bread were very tough. The views in the dining room are lovely. I understand that they have limited supply given the location, but the food is not very good and I don't recommend unless you need to eat.

Yelp
For the love of god please bring your own food when you travel to Sequoia or Wuksachi Lodge. Seriously, pack that camp stove or burner & anything you make will be better than what this restaurant serves. I feel absolutely TERRIBLE for the staff who were working their butts off. Clearly understaffed, and stressed. These people deserve the recognition for the hard work & nice service they give. However, the food was bland, cold & clearly from frozen. I understand it's probably difficult to get food delivered out there, and apparently their are not many places to dine at all in the National Park. The line was insanely long, only one sweet woman taking orders with a smile on her face & good attitude. The food runners were stressed. They ran out of napkins & silverware for the guests. I feel bad for making this review because it's a decent establishment but this lodge needs to invest in some more seasonal staff. People will probably not want to come back after this & decide to camp or go elsewhere. Best of luck to this place.

Jean G.

Yelp
45 minutes to get soup of the day that was very salty and a sandwich which clearly came from the refrigerator. Very cold and tasteless.

Yelp
I've seen some of the poor reviews but I can tell you that we had a Good experience: Seated on time for our 8pm reservations in a crowd. Quick and Friendly wait staff Burgers cooked to order- perfectly medium rare. And big too!!! Great potatoes Salad- not over cooked potatoes. French fries not so much. She split the garden salad without us asking. The Franciscan cab( napa) was exceptional and $15 a glass- a steal. No complaints....

Yelp
The food is not terrible, but the service we experienced on Valentine's Day evening has got to be one of the absolute worse customer service experiences I have had in life. We arrived to the Wuksachi Lodge on 2/14. My boyfriend had made a reservation for dinner (which is required every evening, not holiday specific) several weeks in advance so we'd be squared away. At check in, I noticed a "Valentine's Day" dinner menu posted on the front desk. I immediately asked the staff at the front counter if they would be serving their regular menu as well, to which she replied yes but they were told to also post this menu. Ok, great! 7:00P rolls around and we've made our way to the main lodge where The Peaks is located, we check in and are taken to a nice table in front of the fire place. Things are toasty but good thus far. Our "Valentine" menus, waters and a bread basket arrive, later followed by our server for the evening. I asked for the regular menu and we were told right off the bat, they are not serving from their regular menu and we are required to order from this special menu. I told them we confirmed at the front desk that the regular menu would also be available at which point she explained the two having nothing to do with one another. Fab! Now things aren't looking so good. I explained their Valentine's Day menu contains dairy, meat and gluten in every single option and what would they offer someone with restrictions and she pointed out making a few substitutions to the salad offered (which isn't exactly an entree but ok) but again refused to bring us the regular menu and said they will serve the regular menu the next night. Peachy! but we won't be here tomorrow night and we'd like to order from it this evening. I ordered a Zin red blend glass of wine which was surprisingly nice but didn't make it to our table until our main courses arrived because the bartender was chatting up a table in back of us and eventually our server went to pour the wine herself. We chose to share the pear salad with mint dressing, which was tasty. I enjoyed each bite. The manchego cheese and cherry tomatoes atop were delish! My boyfriend ordered the cordon bleu chicken entree and I ordered the red pepper crab pasta dish. I enjoyed my dish and it had a nice kick to it. I also tried a bite of my boyfriends chicken which was ok as well but not something I'd be able to eat a lot of. All seemed fine at this point, until I glance across the dining room and begin to see several menu items being delivered to tables from the regular menu, not the Valentine menu of extremely limited choices. I was not happy with the dishonesty at this point, although our meal tasted fine there's absolutely zero reason whatsoever to single us out and refuse to allow us to order from the regular menu and then begin to serve it to every other table dining here. We flagged down our server and asked her why these dishes are coming out but we were told they are not serving the regular menu. We were later told the Chef was doing this for other servers. Whatever the reason, it was totally unacceptable. We ordered dessert, which was the most horrible excuse for red velvet cake I've tasted in my life. I think my boyfriend referred to it as torture cake. I was all but ready to chuck it into the fire place in front of us. We didn't touch it after a bite or two. Our bill came, we paid and headed back to our room. It's Valentine's Day evening and now well after 9P we were in for the evening and low and behold our phone rings. Surprised as could be, because we weren't sure who would have the audacity to call a couples room this late in the evening but also being a tad worried, my boyfriend answered. It's the server from The Peaks calling us to say she undercharged our bill and asking my boyfriend to walk back in the snow and cold of the night to the restaurant to give her his credit card again. WTF?! I am in complete disbelief, after the most ridiculous evening there, you're telling us you made yet another mistake, after lying to us and refusing to allow us to order from the regular menu and serving it to at least two dozen other people you want us to now walk back in the freezing cold through the snowed in trails to give you a credit card..?! She's joking right?! My boyfriend tells her we will be down in the morning for breakfast and will give it to her then or they can add it to the master charge. In complete disbelief after this phone call, we sat around wondering how much worse can this place get. It's now approaching 10P and she calls AGAIN!!! Telling him to give her his credit card number. He asked to speak to a manager and explained how inappropriate this and our service was and I guess the guy said he'd take care of it. The difference was around $20. We had 2 breakfast buffets the next morning at $12.95/each and the food was ok. This place really needs a good whipping into shape as it's run horrifically!
google avatar

Joseph F.

Yelp
I went here three times with family during our stay at Sequoia National Park. It is the sit-down option in the park and the prices and quality reflect that monopoly. The food was "fine," but I am guiltily happy someone else was paying. I could have made the Free Range Chicken Breast better at home with $3.00 of ingredients. I had the trout twice, which was simple and filling with the sauce, which was cream-based and not a Veracruz sauce. They did not have the Vegan Roast the whole time we were there, which one member of our party wanted. The dining room itself is nothing special. It is clean and the view is nice. It does not compare to the Ahwahnee's room or anything in a decent city. Budget overruled style in more areas than not. Service was overall pleasant. The food came out too fast during our last meal. Drinks, appetizer, and the main dishes were placed on the table within 5 minutes of each other.
google avatar

Kieren C.

Yelp
Well, it wasn't terrible! The Caesar was decent, but that's hard to mess up. The pizzas were small and nothing special. There's nowhere else to eat, so this place definitely has a monopoly! The wait took forever and the prices were way too high. Nice patio, though.
google avatar

Erica L.

Yelp
The poor rating reflects the food but I must say that the servers here --and I had dinner here twice--were as friendly as could be, despite the fact that each had to cover quite a number of tables. The dining room is also nice, recently renovated, with large floor to ceiling windows showing off the forest behind the lodge. But the food is atrocious. I'm particular the curry noodle is just the worst curry dish I've ever eaten. It tastes like an entire shaker of curry powder was dumped onto the dish. It's powdery and lacking in any real flavor or salt. The noodles and vegetables are cooked okay but it doesn't come together. The vegan roast is dry and a little off putting, the rice and over cooked slices of squash and zucchini completely tasteless. The eggplant Parmesan is a good bet. Three thick slices of eggplant breaded and fried and layered with a thick smattering of ricotta. Its over a bed of nicely cooked spaghetti though the sauce tastes like a can of crushed tomatoes was dumped out with some raw carrot cubes added. I make tomato pasta sauce all the time and it takes very little time and is delicious. No attempt was made here. The bison burger is passable and when ordered medium rare it came out as ordered. But it's lacking in flavor. The onion rings on the side are probably the best thing I ate here. Banana split is okay but the ice cream is mediocre. There's a decent wine and beer selection. Prices are okay. Entrees are generally $20. Reservations required for dinner. Took awhile for the food to come out. It's the only place for a sit down meal in the sequoia section of the parks. But if you are deciding between this and Kings Canyon, go for the latter and eat at the grant grove lodge. Considerably better.

Yelp
Actually 3.5 star rating. We were able to have dinner twice here during our 5 day stay in Sequoia and Kings over Labor day weekend. It IS the only restaurant around so we went there sort of expecting that it would be packed and busy. The first time we ate there, we had no reservations. We were staying at Wuksachi, arrived and checked in with the hostess around 730 and I was told no table would be available until 815 which was pretty okay. I mean what else could you do right? They have a full bar which is great. Bartender Aaron was SUPER BUSY the 3 times I was there with him. They have a good local beer Sherman IPA and Firefall Red. He's also super friendly. Food on the menu actually looks really good and I'm surprised they have as much options as they do considering how far they are. First night we had the shrimp linguine and wagyu barbacoa. I would put the wagyu at 3 out of 5. I think the sauce kind of ruined it BUT it tasted GREAT the next day even when it was cold! Linguine was really good and I loved the mozzarella! Second time we ate here we had the pork wrapped in bacon and the rotisserie chicken. The honey glaze on the chicken was really on point. I really enjoyed it! The pork was tender and I was really amazed at how flavorful it was! We loved the panna cotta we had for dessert as well. It was the right amount of creamy. I wish the mango puree on top was a little more puree but otherwise, desert was a great end to the evening! I would say that service is a BIT slow and I did kind of question why they kept so many tables empty but I think it's also the lack of staff? I mean it the night we were there it was about 3 servers doing all the tables. And so the hostess does need to help and so does the bartender. Anyway! I would say that it was enjoyable. The staff are really great and attentive and friendly. I can't complain about how they treat their guests and I can't complain about the food or the drinks. Their small menus for desert and pizza and coffee mixes do vary quite a bit but I'm not sure how often or what days etc. I saw a lot people getting the pizza. Hopefully we'll get to try a coffee with some alcohol next time :)

Yelp
We stayed at Wuksachi Lodge during the Christmas week and it was the best place we could've stayed at. Perfect spot when visiting Sequoia National Park. The peaks restaurant, wow! It was pretty good. We had the breakfast and dinner during our stay here, and enjoyed it so much. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of options, at a reasonable price. For dinner we had New York steak which was tasty, also at a reasonable price. The lobby is very cozy, with some tables and sofas to relax and enjoy the view. I think this is the best place to eat when you visit sequoia!

Yelp
HAVE AGAIN: the half chicken with wedge potatoes was good but needed more gravy. No other restaurants anywhere close. NOT HAVE AGAIN: the chicken piccata special was terrible. The beef roulade was dry and just ok. The Caesar salad was just a plastic container with lettuce, cheese, croutons in a packet and dressing in a packed - something you would buy in a truck stop but not as good.
google avatar

Adrienne K.

Yelp
Considering The Peaks is the only place to have dinner during the winter months, I was satisfied. Dinner reservations are required and we were sat at the exact time of our reservation--so efficient!! Dinner ran about $80 including tax and tip for 2 people, no drinks (they have a full bar). Portion sizes were generous, not overly salty, the meats were juicy and flavorful/saucy, and the salads were not drenched in dressing. Here's a quick run-down: -Chicken pot pie was unique: it was creamy chicken pot pie filling but with puff pastry on top -Rotisserie chicken was juicy but the sauce was too sweet -8oz New York steak was bigger than I thought it was going to be, and the risotto was creamy and cheesy -Seafood pasta (pescadoro pomodoro) was not as saucy as I like my pastas; they also chop up the clams a little so you can't tell they're in the dish -banana split ended the dinner perfectly Staff was nice but not super attentive to needs.

Yelp
We stayed at the lodge over Memorial Day weekend and ate at The Peaks 6 times; for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each time we were sorely disappointed. Food: The food is mediocre at best and sometimes it was inedible. The fish was undercooked and we had to send it back. There was a long black hair in my veggie burger. The salad dressing is horrible. The pot pie was a tiny portion of chicken soup with a phyllo crust on top. The soup of the day was the same every day and was called "cheeseburger soup", which was basically ground beef and cheese and sounds totally disgusting. There isn't a decent kids selection (just add some chicken tenders!) and everything is overpriced. Breakfast is average but the coffee is awful. Service: The waiters are very nice and attentive, but the entire restaurant is grossly understaffed. The real problem is the host/hostess situation. Most of the time there are a lot of people waiting to be seated, but the host/hostess is very slow in getting people seated. Yes, reservations are a must, but the restaurant could probably take more walk-ins if they bussed the tables faster, and seated people promptly. We saw tables remain uncleared for over 30 minutes, despite a line of people waiting, as well as empty tables when there was a line. The whole thing just seemed mismanaged. Despite the horrible food and mediocre service, anyone staying at the lodge has no other dining options near by. If you are staying at the lodge, make dinner and lunch reservations a few weeks in advance or you will find yourself without anywhere to eat.

Yelp
Overpriced diner food. They did happen to get the brisket amazingly tender, but that may have just been luck. Considering it was snowing and anything else was a twenty minute drive in the dark, it wasn't terrible. Next time though, I might just stick to road trip sandwiches in the hotel room. Service was friendly, and the fireplace was warm.

Yelp
We loved eating here! The views alone are worth five stars! The specials were creative and delicious...a crab & venison risotto one evening and a red duck curry the next! Regular menu was decent too. It's a nice big open space and the staff is very welcoming. If you stay at the lodge you'll see the same folks (they live in cabins a few hundred yards away!) and get to know them on a first name basis. Our box lunch was delicious and filling also. Really enjoyed watching the sunset and scenery from this amazing spot!

Yelp
We camped for two days at Lodgepole Campground and spent our last night at Wukaschi Lodge. Needless to say, we were looking forward to having a nice dinner that we didn't have to cook over a fire! To put it simply, our campfire hot dog dinner was more satisfying than our dinner at The Peaks. Here's why: 1. We made our reservation at 7:15pm. When we arrived, there was no host in sight, two other parties in front of us in line and several other parties waiting to be seated. After 10 minutes waiting, I lost patience and headed to the dining room for help. As I arrived in the dining room, the hostess appeared out of the kitchen. There were NO apologies given to anyone for the ridiculous wait. (When I went to the dining room to find the hostess, 2/3 of the tables were empty.) We were seated almost 30 minutes late. Hostess was terribly rude. While we waited for our table (after she finally showed up), a small group walked in and asked if they could get a table. She actually laughed in his face and said "NO." There is no excuse for such a flat out rude response. 2. Currently their bar is under construction, but there is a temporary bar in the dining room. While waiting for our table, my husband waited for over 10 minutes for the bartender to get to the bar and sell him a warm beer. 3. Once seated, our drinks order was taken by one person, then our server arrived to take our drinks order too. Despite the fact that we told him we had placed the order with the other guy, we ended up having two of all drinks and bread sent to our table. Our table was only for 4 people, but we literally had 9 glasses and 2 bread baskets clogging what little space we had. 4. Knowing that they seemed a bit disorganized, we placed our food order right away. Despite asking for everything to come at once, our courses arrived separately and far apart. 5. Drinks were never refilled. Took over 15 minutes for a beer order to arrive. 6. Hoping for the best, we ordered a banana split and honey lavender ice cream for dessert. It took 15 minutes for our ice cream to arrive, and when it did, the banana split was melted, like soup and inedible. By that point, my husband was so fed up, we didn't even bother to ask for a replacement. 7. The one thing that did arrive early was our cheque. Our server managed to get that to us, long before he delivered our ice cream. Positives: 1. They have a good beer selection. 2. The view (if you're seated at a window) is nice. 3. Our burgers were good. So all that being said, I DO NOT recommend dinner at The Peaks restaurant. Honestly, you're better off saving your time and $ by having dinner at the Grill located 2 miles away at the Lodgepole Campground Village. I am not comparing Peaks to a Michelin starred restaurant, simply rating it based on what we experienced. I also understand that given how remote the restaurant is, it may be difficult to find experienced staff - BUT the management and organization of the restaurant was terrible. PS. The next morning, we had the buffet breakfast at Peaks. Hostess was still nowhere to be found. There were about 5 groups of us waiting. We all got so fed up, we seated ourselves. Breakfast selection is ok, but be aware that it is $13pp, which is not stated anywhere.

Yelp
Great tree view from inside the restaurant as well as the large outdoor patio. Caesar salad is mediocre, the chile special was ok/good and the pizza was tasty. Come for the view.

Yelp
Slightly worse pizza than frozen pizza yet it costs 20$ and the salad is store bought which has lovely freeze dried lettuce 10$. I would highly recommend your i get it this is sequía and resources are limited. But i what you all to know it is not worth the price. Stop by a grocery store before coming here and buy some frozen food and snacks way tastier.

Yelp
If i was the only restaurant on the hill...i would still try to impress... many would see that this is the ultimate monopoly and not give a flying hoot... well...the peaks lies somewhere in the middle... we ate here for 2 reasons...Breakfast was included in our package and where else were we gonna eat?!!?! Breakfast is a buffet...2 price options..one including hot/cold cereal, fruits and pastries also coffee, tea and juice...the more expensive (at $13 a person...about $7 for kids) included the hot food too...which was eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, pancakes, french toast. Our included the whole shebang...but if i was to pay i would have stuck with the lower price point since I really only ate the oatmeal, fruit and coffee. The eggs were meh...but everything else was pretty good. no complaints. first day our "server" (who really only clears plates) was super nice and even brought the kids hot cocoa (no extra charge...i assume it was meant to be included)...he even got a tip from me (not usual for me to do so at a buffet that 100% self serve). day 2 we never saw a server...we cleared our own tables. we ended up having to leave early since someone brought their dog into the dining room and my son, who is allergic, started sneezing. i understand that may or may not need their service pets...but it really sucks when it affects others who can no longer be in a restaurant because of allergies. dinner...we ate here 2 nights. night #1..i had every intention of getting the salad but the special was a filet mignon stuffed with blue cheese and mushrooms with mashed potatoes!! omg like my dream. i ordered it...it was good..but i was stuffed because we also splurged and order their version of poutine. it wasn't the best i've had but it was quite good...loaded with trip tip..yum! 1 kid had the grilled cheese..the other the pasta...pasta was bland...she didn't like it...grilled cheese was good (they both ordered it the next night)...& not bad at $5 (including a choice of veggies, fruit or fries). hubby had the vegan burger (he said because it has avocado and sprouts on it)...he really enjoyed it. next night i got the salad...yum! it was yummy..hubby got a regular burger but with the toppings from the hippie burger...even better this time! nice that they made that substitution without any issue. flavors were good for everything (except that kids pasta)...no complaints. it's not a 5 star dining experience...but it's pretty good....you can have a high bill ($100 before tip the first night for 2 adults, 2 kids, 1 drink each) or a low bill ($35 second night 2 adults 2 kids no drinks)...your choice. night 1 was my daughters bday and they gave her a dessert of her choosing off the menu. she selected apple pie with vanilla ice cream.. i must say it was an amazing apple pie!!! tips..double check your reservation..i made both reservations at the same time...friday and saturday 6:30 both nights...i double checked when we checked in ...but when we showed up saturday night they didn't have a res for me. good thing it wasn't busy and we were seated. another tip...rooms have a decent size fridge...no microwave. if you don't want to eat 3 meals a day here...bring some yogurt and fruit and sandwiches with you ..then splurge a bit on dinner. service was friendly... service was not fast not slow...a perfectly times relaxing meal (where else would we need to be after dark in the snow?)

Yelp
Absolute garbage. Utter trash. I can't find the right words to tell you how awful this place is. It's the only restaurant for miles. Your only option for all your meals. And that's how they act. Don't like it? Too bad. They tell you to make a reservation because they are so utterly incompetent. We showed up early for our reservation and there was a line. You would tell the guy your name he would mark your name walk clear across the restaurant to clear a table, clean a table and then set a table. Walk all the way back, mark your name again and then go seat you. Then repeat this process for every single group. It took over 20 minutes to seat the four groups ahead of us in line. We were all laughing at how ridiculous it was. So considering how long it took to seat people and the reservations there shouldn't be a problem in the kitchen timing wise. Our server Matt was the most worthless server I've ever had and I live in LA. When we were sat a man promptly showed up and said I'll come back to get your orders but let me get your drinks started. Then we never saw anyone for over 15 minutes. The table next to us and ourselves started physically waving the guy down to get his attention. He came over and said what? We said we would like to order. He said oh, I'm not your server. Then Matt suddenly showed up and said "I got slammed by five tables that were sat at the same time". Which was obviously not true. We had seen their seating "process". We let the table next to us order since they had been waiting longer than us. After Matt took their order he started to walk away. We asked can't we place our orders as well? So he begrudgingly took our order. It took so long for our food I can't believe it. Everyone got their food around us and we kept waiting and no one ever said anything. I never saw anyone who looked like a manager so I went to the front desk. I was told that the inept host, Will, who took forever to seat people was the manager. I just dropped my jaw. The woman behind the desk smirked and said "interesting isn't it?" Well that's probably not a good sign. My boyfriend then walked up with our food to go. It was over $60 for two dinners and a soda. We cancelled our second night at the hotel because we knew this was the only place we were going to be able to eat, and we were going to be treated poorly every time we had to eat. Never again. They are only in business because they have a captive audience. They have a monopoly and act as such.
