Google
I found The Pearl from an Instagram reel and the first thing they showed was the tater tots as a starter, to which I have to agree is a great way to start the meal here. I also got the Cuban which ended up being a fabulous version of it. All around the food was excellent. Located in the Short North district, you're right in the heart of the hip part of the city so there's good reason to be here. The place is much bigger than you'd expect so getting a table was easy. It is dimly lit so if you need reading glasses for the menu, bring them. Atmosphere is chill, though maybe a tad cramped. Service was good but on the more casual side of things. Seems like a perfectly good place to hang out and enjoy. If you're looking for a quick in & out burger, probably go elsewhere. Everything was great, look forward to going back.

Google
Everything tasted and looked amazing. The deviled eggs on the chicken theme stand is awesome. The hanger steak was recommended by several people and did not disappoint. It is on a bed of kimchi - a bit unexpected for those used to potatoes. Definitely get a variety of appetizers to share.

Google
Amazing service and atmosphere was top tier…but $48 for the little rib dinner was confusing & laughable smh. Drinks were good. Food had no flavor guess expected more for the price. Overall, good experience for 1 visit… don’t think we’ll be returning lol well maybe for drinks & desert type vibes.

It is a tiny location but it's beautiful and the food is great! I can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

Google
we always come here before a weekday crew game for their happy hour and they always blow themselves out of the water. the jalapeño spoon bread is always a 10/10 and the fried pickles are fantastic. we also got the fries and tots with our pub burger. everything was fresh and service was quick. for my non alcoholics— the nada rita and nojito were both amazing, and also half priced during happy hour ;)!!

Let me say, if you want to ENJOY a dinner, do not come here. We had a reservation for 6 pm on a Thursday night and showed up at 6:00 on the dot and had to wait 10 minutes for our table. I don’t know why I made a reservation and received a text saying my table was ready if it actually wasn’t ready?? After getting to our table, I believed we were going to have a great meal because our waiter seemed like a great guy. However, after he said hello and gave us water, he was gone for 15-20 minutes before we could order drinks. When he came back, we quickly ordered drinks, appetizers, and dinner. That was our best decision of the night. Our appetizers came very quickly with our drinks. And they were great. By the time our food came, my sandwich looked drier than grass during the summer months - I was tempted to send it back, but decided not to as I just wanted the meal to be over. I will say that my girlfriend’s chicken was cooked perfectly. After we got our check, we had to wait another 30 minutes for our waiter to come get our check. He never came so I had to go to the bar in order to cash out. Our nice dinner before a concert turned into a race against the clock where we missed the opening act due to the poor time management of the staff. (Reservation was at 6, and the arena is a 5 minute walk, with the opening act starting at 8:15. Dinner did not need to be 2.5 hours long) Very poor service for an establishment that prides itself in hospitality. Though I loved their oysters and spoonbread, I will sadly not come back because the service was so subpar.

Google
Eric was our server and he was wonderful. He explained to us the gluten free safety protocol but also how it would taste with the different ingredients. Our food was labeled with a little stick denoting the allergy requirements. The food was amazing, we got the fish and chips (recommended by Eric, like I said, he’s great), it was crispy and delicious.

Google
beware the punch bowl!! it’s delicious and worth every penny. menu says it’s for four people but those people must have four stomachs. it’s literally a PUNCH BOWL WITH A LADEL. loved it though. our server, lincoln, was great and attentive despite it being 8pm on a Friday.

Yelp
The Pearl is one of Cameron Mitchel's first restaurants in Columbus, so this first iteration has been around for quite some time. The lighting is on the low side, so make sure your eyes adjust. There a decent amount of bar and table seating. With this CMR being so close to the convention center and downtown traffic, it definitely gets good walk-in traffic. Met family for happy hour on Summer Solstice, special HH pricing: All-day happy hour, which is normally half-off appetizers, starters, and their Pub Burger M-F, 4-6 pm. My sister and mother both got oysters, fried and raw. Father got scallops (forgot to take a pic), and I got their Devils On Horseback app and a Pub Burger. The bacon wrapped dates (Devils On Horseback) were really, really good. The bacon was hot, juicy, and the savory/sweet combo was perfect. My Pub Burger was also very good. The melted soft cambozola cheese was nicely accompanied by their made from scratch tomato jam, which by the way, if they'd sell this by the jar, you betcha I'd add one to the check! I'm always intrigued with not-the-norm cheeses used in entrees, and CM does a great job with this quest. Medium-rare, I actually didn't add any toppings to the burger, and it was fantastic! Wonderfully seasoned patty and juicy af. The fries were also good; nothing shabowable, but a solid side dish. I'd like to come back, maybe check out their weekend brunch offerings. A great quality:quantity ratio CRM restaurant.

Yelp
I think this is the most consistent food of all the Cameron Mitchell restaurants. Nothing rocks your world, but it is always reliably very good. The location is perfect for views of Bridge Park and fun people watching. IMO, the atmosphere of the restaurant has a bit of an identity crisis that takes away from the overall experience. It looks great with beautiful views and dim lighting (date night vibe), and sounds not so great with loud, random music (college bar DJ vibe). All that said, we really enjoyed Restaurant Week dining here. Deviled eggs are the best in town, entrees were fantastic, and dessert.... Desserts are their specialty for sure. Sugar pie was like pecan pie, minus the pecans and not as ultra sweet as it sounds. The PB&J dessert was one of the best things I have ever eaten. Fresh strawberries with peanut butter mousse and crunchy peanut topping. I would go back just to have that again. Ps just realized this review posted to the wrong Pearl location. We went to Dublin. My bad.

Yelp
Went back for our anniversary dinner...we were mildly disappointed this time. Started with oysters and cornbread, both were excellent. The oysters tasted very fresh and the cornbread was warm and deliciously comforting. Our entrees were what we thought were the let down. The chicken sandwich was on the burnt side, and tasted overly salted. The Gulf Snapper was probably the better of the two, but it was overpowered by lemon. I was excited for the pistachio pesto, but I hardly could pick up on the pistachio flavor. The service was as expected, nothing that blew me away but also, no negative experiences. The ambiance was decent. We were able to hear each other just fine. I've been to the pearl a few times, this was probably the most disappointing.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by The Pearl for a date night a few weeks ago! We had a 6 PM reservation and arrived around 5:30 PM. We were told that we would have to wait for our reservation time (they were extremely busy - every seat in the restaurant was full). Also note - it is a tight fit once you are seated! We decided to sit at the bar and have some drinks while we waited. I had a margarita and my husband had an old fashioned. The ice cube in my husband's drink was pretty sweet (pic attached to this post). Once seated, we started with the garlic shrimp and oysters on the half shell. The oyster special was 3 for $15. The oysters were pretty good! The garlic shrimp stole the show though! The shrimp placed on the garlic bread and topped with the smoked tomatoes, parsley, and crispy shallots was super divine! The shrimp was cooked perfectly as well! For meals, my husband ordered the roasted chicken and I ordered the braised short rib (I kept going back and forth between this and the hanger steak as it is served with kimchi fried rice - one of my faves). My husband enjoyed his meal; however, I was not a fan of the braised short rib. The meat was overcooked (super tough) and fatty. I did enjoy the savory gravy, the horseradish mashed potatoes, and the tasty vegetables that were served with my dish though! Our server, Gary, was absolutely amazing! He definitely deserves huge props for his exceptional service (that I watched him portraying to everyone on our side of the restaurant)! Thank you, Gary!

Yelp
Bartenders are very friendly and make lovely cocktails with fun details. Vibes are slightly upscale for date night, girls night, or dinner with a boss. Not many vegetarian options but the Jalepeno cornbread is very nearly perfect.

Yelp
The Pearl is a great stop for any meal! We loved it so much we went twice for brunch. The ambiance is super fun, too- lots of old millennial faves playing in the background (like Jimmy Eat World and Fall Out Boy). The items below were our favorites: - Deviled eggs: We got these both times- they come in the most fun metal chicken setup. There are only four but they are so good and well worth it. - Fried pickles: These were light and crispy and came with a great housemade ranch. - Jalapeño corn spoon bread: Pretty much every table got this - Hanger steak: This comes in a huge portion and we really liked the kimchi fried rice- it's a more unusual accompaniment that suited the steak very well. I didn't get a picture but The Cure cocktail was the perfect fruity brunch drink and tasted just like a tropical vacation- definitely worth trying! There were a couple of things we didn't love- the roasted chicken and apple salad was pretty dry and unremarkable, and the grilled cheese was small and the arugula pesto made it very bitter. However, we really loved everything else we had. The Pearl also has fresh pies every day- we did not save room like the menu suggests but were able to take two slices home, one Snickers and one Buckeye. Both were delicious.

Yelp
Exquisite experience as always here. Split the shrimp and grits which was plenty of food. Started out with the smoked salmon as well. Highly recommend both. Our sever was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant, cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
Extremely satisfying brunch at the Pearl - hamburger and eggs bene were great. Their old fashioned variation is one of the better cocktails I've had in recent memory. Did an oyster shooter as well with the Bloody Mary sauce and it was to die for. Able, friendly service in that Pearl atmosphere - love it!!

Yelp
Came here for Sunday brunch, a party of five. We didnt have reservations. However, we called and spoke to one of the managers who was able to secure us a wonderful table rather quickly. The quick review for our time at The Pearl is: it was excellent all around. The food, service, atmosphere and pricing. 5 out of 5. Really had a good time Longer review: Service was excellent. The timing of our appetizers and meals were perfect. We never had an empty glass, yet didn't feel he hovered. Serious stealth serving skills at the Pearl! Our table was amazing. It was truly comfortable- a rounded leather booth towards the back of the first dining area. We ordered a mimosa kit, bloody marys, espresso martini, and the brown bag beer which today was Hamms Beer. To snack on we ordered cornbread for the table, six oysters on the half shell, and dressed crab. You get en entire bottle of Prosecco for your mimosa and fresh squeezed Oj. Yielded four pours. They enjoyed it. Espresso martini was excellent. The bloody mary had no complaints, but orderer of that is a bartender and I think his are probably better. Our beer drinker was pleasantly surprised by the Hamm's. I think he ordered two. Appetizers were excellent. They slurped down all the oysters in no time. The cornbread was a big hit. The dressed crab looks tiny but there is a LOT in there. It is deceiving. Tip: ask for a few extra crackers. Entrees: pancakes were good but I felt could have benefited from a bit of fruit. Lots of negative space in a large oval plate. Just ugly plating... tasted fine. Chicken and waffles: chicken was excellent. We asked if they were Belgian waffles. We were told yes. They were not Belgian... just regular waffles. That was a disappointment. However the waffle was still warm and tasted fine. However one of the ordering members of our party would have chose something else had they known it was not a Belgian waffle. The omelette was good but its orderer reported it to be small. When he got home he still felt hungry and made a "snack". I think I won the "who ordered the best dish" competition wirh the harbor salad. It comes with scallops, fresh lump crab, and shrimp. I had them take off the scallops due to allergy issues and add extra crab. It was amazing and its now six hours later and I am still full. I highly recommend that (and the beet salad as that is my normal go to there) The key lime pie was good... not great. I would not get it again. The bill comes in a book. Cute. Our bill with tip came to just shy of 300 The only con I found: Stopped in the bathroom before leaving. The soap and hand towels are weirdly located directly above the toilet paper. Thats kind of disgusting. Dripping wet hands hover the toilet paper making it wet. I noticed they have wrapped spare toilet paper so I unwrapped a fresh one as the one on the roller was soggy. Bad design. That seriously is the only flaw I found at this restaurant. Could be solved by moving or getting a toilet paper cover. . The bill was brought out in a book which was fitting as the entire space feels like a large library or mansion den in a historic mansion.

Yelp
The Pearl is fantastic! The ambiance is moody and cozy. The staff is incredibly friendly, shoutout to the manager Rose who was so warm and welcoming to our group :) The food is excellent! Highly recommend starting with the Jalapeño Spoon Bread (comes with butter and local honey), the deviled eggs (very flavorful!), and the tater tots (crunchy on the outside, soft and delicious on the inside). We also tried the Whitefish spread which was tasty. And some of the group had oysters. For my main, I had the chicken sandwich and it was ssooo goood!! Would definitely order it again. We also tried all of the pies and honestly they were all incredible. I think the brown sugar, the cherry, and the chocolate cream were the favorites. Cocktails: highly recommend the gin and thyme :)

Yelp
The pub burger might be the best burger Ive ever had. Fries were decent as well. Love the atmosphere and great deals during happy hour. Service was efficient and very friendly. Would highly recommend, especially for happy hour where the deals are good!

Yelp
This place is poppin! Busy, loud environment which is fine if you're fine. They pack them in because the food, drinks, and service are great. The deviled eggs taste excellent and the egg scale "plate" makes it a home run. The burger is massive and tastes great. The Harbor salad has great flavor, could have used some more seafood. Love the vibe, until next time!

Yelp
Went here for brunch with a colleague and was pleasantly surprised with the food. The huevos rancheros was tasty, and we also enjoyed mimosas. Service: good Parking: street parking in Short North Seating: indoor only - booths, tables, and high top tables

Yelp
Great experience tonight dining at The Pearl. My manager was in town so I decided to let him experience The Pearl. We ordered a couple of drinks and a couple of half price appetizers. The bacon wrapped dates and the jalapeño bread was so good. Highly recommend. We both got the fish and chips and we were both pleasantly surprised at the portions, and we both enjoyed this dish. Our server was spot on! He was just present enough. We really enjoyed the evening.
google avatar

Yelp
Returned to The Pearl for another visit, opted for indoor dining, and had an absolutely delightful experience. Reordered the grilled cheese sandwich and curry mussels, both consistently excellent. Explored new additions like parmesan baked clams, jalapeño cornbread, and crispy chicken sandwich--all of which exceeded expectations. Delighted with my varied choices a rare occurrence for me to enjoy multiple items on a menu. The ambiance is inviting, creating a pleasant atmosphere to relax, sip on drinks, and savor a truly delightful meal. Service was also attentative. Highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
I was "clutching my pearls" after eating those two pie slices. They were super sweet. We tried the chocolate and brown sugar pie. Definitely get the chocolate if you are like me and don't like things too sweet. Hence the word, "sugar." I got the Harbor salad to counteract the dessert but I didn't really care for it too much. The seafood was salty and the salad was off balance with the dressing. Service was good. It is best to make reservations because we had to sit at the counter. It was a classy place and definitely a place to impress in downtown. Parking is on the street. I think there are better food options in downtown.
google avatar

Jamie D.

Yelp
This place is very busy and tables are crammed. It did allow many people to get seats however. It did take a while to get drinks, but after the waiter was acquainted, service was not delayed. The bacon beautiful bourbon was interesting but not overwhelming bourbon flavor. The bacon was an interesting touch. (This was per my partner as I didn't try it). We did have oysters and they have a variety of locations they are from which allow you to choose where you want them sourced from. They were nice. Good flavor and tasted fresh. I had the walleye special which was lovely, great flavor, well cooked. The tater tots were amazing. A must try, they are not traditional tater tots, and more flavorful and a better texture. The portion size was generous on a sandwich my partner ordered. Make reservations as there were many waiting without a reservation.

Yelp
They Got rid of the best dish! Fried chicken dinner is GONE! Hopefully this isn't forever!
google avatar

Peg M.

Yelp
The Virginia oysters on the half shell, served with lemon horseradish and cocktail sauce, satisfied my picky husband. We also enjoyed the old fashioned deviled eggs, handsomely served on a rustic stand and topped with smoky spice. Rather than an entree, my husband ordered the roast chicken apple salad and I had a citrus salad. Both were ample and delicious, although we had room to share the Mississippi Mud. Cameron Mitchell restaurants rarely disappointed and we will certainly return to The Pearl when we next visit the Short North in Columbus.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for our 1 year anniversary - its one of our favorite places. We made a reservation, as well since it's a happening spot. We ordered the fried pickles and Jalapeño Corn Spoon Bread as a starter, as always they were both so good - those two starters NEVER disappoint. The starters filled us up and we ordered the Pub Burger to split, its our literal favorite burger in Columbus. They always cut the burger for us to split, the fries on separate plates, we always appreciate that level of customer service. Since it was our anniversary they gave us a slice of their pie of the day, it was a toffee brown sugar pie. The pie was so darn good, we loved it not too sweet at all. Loved it - service was amazing!
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
This place shocked me! The tater tots is a must get! It was fried with beer batter and the inside was like a steamy mashed potato texture. The sauce on the side was also amazing. I tried the hangar steak and it was surprisingly really good. The steak was precut on top of kimchi fried rice. I like how this dish was a good balance of carbs and protein. Lastly, the drink was 10/10. I'm not a big cocktail person but I finished this one. Our server was super attentive and was really nice when asking for recommendations. The food also came out decently fast so nothing to complain there. The ambiance was really nice. I saw a few people go on dates here. I went for a company dinner and it was really appropriate for that as well.

Yelp
Everything was great! From the fish & chips to the banana cream pie and espresso martini. The waiter was helpful with any questions that we had. The dining room and decor is all wonderfully done and fun to look at. Overall an enjoyable experience!

Yelp
Perfect cozy atmosphere for date night downtown. We started off with the deviled eggs and fried oysters. Our server Will was very attentive. We didn't feel rushed and were able to enjoy the perfectly lit ambiance. We ordered the steak and roasted chicken for our entrees. The steak was perfectly cooked and the chicken was tender and juicy with a crisp finish. Will definitely be on our list when in town!
google avatar

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Downtown location, super cute inside went for brunch and was perfect. Make sure to get reservations, to enjoy this place. Food; Had a mixture of the raw Oysters, and they were crisp and perfect with all the extras that were delicious. The deviled eggs and cornbread are a must try, great appetizers. This trip since we wanted the Oysters we split the Grilled Cheese, and wow another great pick. Adult beverage, the Chardonnay was yummy. Will be going back for sure. Service, so friendly and speedy. Hess was amazing.

Yelp
This is a very nice comfort food type of restaurant. The overall vibe is loud and difficult to vary on a conversation. The waitress was helpful in making decisions and had a great overall knowledge of the menu. They don't offer a bourbon list and she was no help there. As a result I was told to go look at the bar. I saw a bottle of old Fitzgerald and ordered one Boy was I shocked when I got the bill and one shot was $72. Maybe a warning before serving me a $72 dollar shot. When I asked if that was correct she shrugged and just said yeah and there was a $2.50 up charge for ice!! The hanger steak was prepared well and the muncher rice is amazing. The egg I. Too was overcooked though which dropped the Expectation. The kitchen is slow but not super bad.
google avatar

Aja H.

Yelp
Smoked Salmon was so good! American fare spoon cornbread was a bit lukewarm due to volume of people and orders yet tasty. Ordered the beet salad and grilled cheese in addition to split for a great post worship meal.
google avatar

Tracy M.

Yelp
*extremely late post * This was a very nice place. We went for brunch and it was pretty packed. That's always a good sign. I enjoyed the food. Our waitress was nice and consistent. The restaurant had a great atmosphere. I haven't been back yet, but I definitely plan too. Even if it's just for the Salmon. Some of the best I've tasted. Keep up the good work.
google avatar

Jonathan D.

Yelp
Solid cocktails, and very tasty fried pickles. Just be wary that they can come pretty hot temperature wise so avail yourself of the dipping sauce which is also pretty tasty

Brittany S.

Yelp
The food was just okay. I had 2 margaritas and didn't feel anything from them. For the price, I would say go somewhere else.
google avatar

Mark E.

Yelp
It was okay. This time around, we were so excited to re-visit and take my wife this time. Tots were as-always GREAT. Almost asked for ketchup to break up the creaminess of the sauce. Got the shrimp and grits this time, the shrimp wasn't anything special. If anything, I felt that it was pre-prepare and already cooked shrimp. If you're looking for an okay meal, this may be your place.
google avatar

Yelp
I love the downtown location, but just saw their place in Dublin and it's BIG!! Like two stories and balcony. Looks awesome, going to need to check it out sometime. You need reservations though or go early/really late!!! UPDATE: we just checked out their Dublin location it was really GREAT! Love the interior. They have more oyster options on the menu. They had a Shrimp and Lobster boil special going on that we split.. wow! It was really, really good. For appetizers we had bacon wrapped dates, fries, and the New Orleans baked oysters. Very very good! Definitely should do the reservations and/or get there early. This place is absolutely busting at both locations. Last time we went to the downtown location, we sat at the oyster bar, cool spot but not comfortable. The Dublin location we also got sat at a high top in the bar area. Not ideal, but cozy. We noticed that their downtown location doesn't offer as many oyster options as their Dublin location. Maybe it's rotating? Don't come often to know. Other than that it's a great spot for a Thursday/Friday night date! Intimate. We had a great time and just enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
Drinks are way too expensive. $13 for a spritzer. It doesn't cost that much in Italy. Service is with a smile because they know they are over charging you. Ambiance is average.

Yelp
This has to be a new favorite for me-- I'm so surprised it's taken me so long to check it out because I've heard such great things. I was walking around high street on one of our warm recent days to look for a fun new spot for happy hour that had a patio or open-air seating. As any Columbusites know, warm sunny weather plus happy hour in the Short North = BUSY. As I was passing the Pearl I noticed the open-air window seating and walked in to ask about their happy hour. They were offering 1/2 off on all "Snacks", shareables, and drinks! What an awesome Happy Hour. I had a friend meet me and they weren't able to give us a table, but we were able to find seating easily on their left barstools. score. We ordered 6 oysters, whitefished spread, coconut Thai mussels, and devils on a horseback. We washed them down first with two specialty cocktails and finished out with a martini each. All food items were delicious-- the oysters were fresh and I I loved the mignonette they were served with. It already contained the horseradish and was the only condiment I used (normally im squeezing lemon, adding horseradish, topping with hot sauce/a mix of those). The devils on a horseback were crispy and delicious. The broth for the mussels was creamy and dynamic. The whitefish spread was rich with a great combination of flavors. All serving sizes seemed totally fair. We were totally satisfied sharing one app and 3 snacks. The cocktails we had were the gin/thyme and the peach bourbon cocktail. They were fresh, decently sized, and did not disappoint. The peach cocktail came with frozen peaches instead of ice, which we devoured after they thawed. The Martinis were perfectly to our liking. Service was attentive from start to finish (and we sat there for awhile). This restaurant is normally a little bit on the pricier side, but during Happy Hour it was an absolute steal. I can't wait to go back soon.
google avatar

Kisha Y.

Yelp
Yall better go to happy hour and try EVERYTHING!!! My favs are the wings and whatever dessert they're serving for that day
google avatar

Aubrie H.

Yelp
Visited with a large group and The Pearl delivered like it always does. We ordered lots of apps, deviled eggs, spoon bread and devils on horseback. All so so good. I decided on the Cuban which was so tasty and the portion size was great. Also tried their house special, the oyster stout, which to me tasted like a brown ale so i enjoyed that as well. You can't really go wrong with anything here.

Yelp
10, 10, 10! Oh, is this not the Food Olympics?!?! We were in Columbia for a trade show and wandered into this place. The service was beyond professional and oh so fun! We were a party of five, sat at a round booth and had a great time. Here was what we ordered: Whitefish salad spread (as good as Bubbe's), clam chowder (nice and creamy), shrimp cocktail (big and tasty. Very fresh and very big.) A burger (ask for extra pickles, they're housemade), we had the deviled eggs (spicey!), the Char (delish!) and PLEASE leave room for the BROWN SUGAR PIE. PLEASE! And thank you.

Yelp
Great service, great value in happy hour selection. Just wish my baked oysters were served warmer. Our server, Shawn was great.

Yelp
Great place for a brunch, a night out or a lunch date. The restaurant is a lot larger than it looks. Now since the bridge is finished it is always busy. Make a reservation! Went to brunch, had a good selection. Sadly, I think the waitress was a little too busy or they were shortstaffed. But, it wont take away the five stars. The oysters were fabulous, crackers , enough lemons, hot sauce and not tabasco. They have their own favorite hot sauce. YUMMMY. Then the light tempura baked pickles. Hot temp. pickles with a light salty batter. Oh my. Then we had the not sure,,, bisquits and gravy with poached eggs. Perfectly cooked, perfectly in taste with everything and the spicy bloody marys to top it all off. We were so stuffed. A must have to date with the brunch staff here.

Samantha K.

Yelp
The Pearl has quickly become one of my go-to happy hour spots. My favorite drink is their Moscow mule which is refreshing and tasty. As for starters, I love the devils on horseback (cheese stuffed bacon wrapped dates) and deviled eggs. Both have smaller portions but the taste will leave you satisfied enough that it won't matter. I also can't go without getting the baked oysters which come in a flavorful sauce and with bread for dipping. The restaurant has an upscale feel and is great for dates and happy hours with friends or coworkers.

Michele F.

Yelp
We love you...but why, why, why did you get rid of your best drink on the menu??? And now you have NO shrub to add to your drinks. What happened?! I walked in and ordered your old bourbon bacon beautiful and was told that was not possible. And then the girl next to me ordered the same drink...you can't be a great cocktail restaurant without a shrub!

Yelp
The waiter with the kindergarten-inspired haircut tried to seat 11 people at 2 4-tops pushed together. Not too bright and unprofessional especially since there were additional tables right next to us that were empty all evening. The service was hesitant with drinks coming out 2-3 at a time ..maybe it was the waiters first time? Also served caffeinated coffee instead of the requested decaf after dessert which, for some, presented a challenge staying awake the next day. Food was meh with the exception being the clam chowder - it was quite good.

Yelp
Was excited to try this restaurant but unfortunately, I was disappointed. I had the GF fish and chips and the ratio of batter to fish was way too much--I picked half of it off and it was still too much. Both the fish and chips were also very salty, and I couldn't even eat my chips. The slaw was good. My friend had the shrimp and grits and she said it was very good. The service was very slow. We had the Gin Thyme cocktail and that was delicious. The interior of the restaurant is very nice but I think it would be very loud when the restaurant is full. I won't be going back.

Yelp
My friends always rave about the tater tots, so we walked half an hour to downtown specifically to try them and unfortunately the first thing they told us when we sat down was that they were sold out for the day... and it was only early afternoon! The jalapeno spoon bread is another one of their popular menu items and thankfully they had it. It was very good and savory esp with the whipped honey butter. I got the pork cheek hash which I thought was delicious but a little pricey for the portion size and wish it had more pork pieces. But my friend got the hueveos rancheros and thought it was pretty average and nothing special. The cocktail I got (I think it was called the cure?) was also pretty yummy and I enjoyed the peach. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would come back again to finally try those tater tots!

Yelp
The short north location is probably my favorite. It just feels a lot more relaxed.. Maybe its the lighting? Not sure. The drinks are great, and the food is delicious! I highly suggest going during happy hour (monday to friday 4-6 pm) so you can grab a variety of things on their snacks and starters menu to try for half the price!

Yelp
Cozy and contemporary vibe. Lots of seats. Great service. Clam chowder and chicken & waffle was good. Waffle could be fluffier and larger.

Yelp
I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. We were in town for a convention and thankfully I booked it ahead of time. We loved it so much that we ended up going back again. Service is top notch and the food was so good. My steak the first night was packed full of flavor, the jalapeño corn bread WOW! Delicious. The second time I went back I had the short ribs and subbed out the root vegetables for the broccoli and it was melt in your mouth goodness.

Yelp
I've eaten here before and it was tasty. Came in as a single sitting at the oyster bar. I ordered my food and was watching the two people behind the bar preparing oysters etc. I was appalled to see that neither of the two (a man and a woman) were wearing gloves. And they were taking the oysters out of a fridge already shucked holding the oysters by the part of the shell I was going to be putting in my mouth. I couldn't stand it. And to make matters worse there was a full box of gloves right in front of him. I got up and said something to the hostess who didn't apologize or anything. I will never go back here. Disgusting practices!!!

Yelp
This was such a cute spot!! I'd never been to Short North before, but after visiting The Pearl, I definitely want to keep exploring the area whenever I'm visiting Columbus. My sister-in-law made a reservation for a few of us family members, including her two young kids. Sometimes, nicer restaurants like this aren't as receptive when you have children dining with you ... but our waitress was incredibly engaging and sweet with my niece and nephew, and didn't let the addition to our party get in the way of absolutely stellar service. Before visiting, I did a little research and found that the Pearl has been recognized for its amazing Bloody Mary's. Being that that's my favorite brunch drink EVER, I had to put theirs to the test. I ordered the drink as spicy as I could ... and I can say that they're definitely at the top of their game with these. I have to say that their Jalapeno Spoon Bread starter is one of the best cornbread renditions I've ever had. It's moist and gooey, served with lightly whipped butter and just a touch of sweetness from some local honey. This was a hard dish to share ... I could've totally eaten the whole thing on my own. I love oysters, but didn't get the chance to order any of theirs during this particular visit ... which means I guess I'll just have to come back! I did create my own soup & salad duo, with orders of their Creamy Clam Chowder and their Tavern Citrus Salad. This ended up being a delightful combo ... the soup was warm and flavorful, and the salad was light and bright. Definitely can't wait to return to the Pearl sometime soon ... and to explore more of the adorable Short North district.
