Before a long girls' weekend in 30A, I flew in a day early for a little solo reset and booked one night at The Pearl. It was worth every penny for the location, amenities, and service. Valet parking is included, you're welcomed with a champagne toast, and the staff throughout the hotel was warm and attentive.
The rooms are stunning. I had a 3rd floor pool view, which I highly recommend. It gives you a gorgeous view of the pool courtyard and ocean without the downtown Rosemary noise. Chairs and towels are included at both the pool and beach (they fill up quickly in peak season, so plan ahead) as well as extras like sunbum sunscreen and aloe, were a nice touch.
The only downside, and reason for 4 stars, was my experience at the Havana rooftop and room service. As a solo guest, I wanted to enjoy a sunset drink and order room service after. Even though there were plenty of open seats and staff, the host team didn't want to seat me. I was given a confusing mix of reasons. Manager said no, bartender said no, etc.) and after some awkward back and forth, I was finally seated at the bar. As I sat down I noticed others were ordering drinks just fine by either sitting at the bar or walking up to it. It felt unnecessarily difficult and totally unlike the rest of the hotel. Staff were also openly talking about plotting to close early and not wanting to be there (this was the evening of June 4th). The bartender was great and helped salvage the vibe, but my gosh I did not feel welcome.
Now onto room service. I called well before the 9:30pm cutoff, and I couldn't get through. I had to go through the front desk to place an order. The person who eventually took my order made me feel like a burden. The food, once delivered, was delicious and arrived quickly.
Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would return, but I hope the rooftop experience gets some attention. It doesn't reflect the rest of The Pearl, which is otherwise top-tier.
