The Pebble

Liz is an amazing hostess. Beautiful room, immaculate spaces. We felt so welcome and our host provided us stories and suggestions .I would recommend The Pebbles to family and friends, and would dearly wish to go back one day. Did I mention the incredible bread and scones, and steel cut oatmeal? This was a celebration of my 75th birthday…can I come back for 80? Love Halifax and love the Pebble!

We had the absolute pleasure of staying three nights at The Pebble Bed & Breakfast in Halifax, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Liz, the owner and host, is a gem. Energetic, warm, and full of stories only an Irish woman could tell with such charm, she made us feel instantly at home and like family. We felt so welcome and Liz went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. From her wonderful restaurant recommendations to suggesting both hikes and other “must sees”, her guidance helped us discover so many hidden gems around Halifax.||In addition to all of the luxuries you would expect at a 5 star hotel, her breakfasts were another highlight—absolutely delicious and always flexible around our daily schedule. Every morning was a fantastic start to our day. One morning we had the added treat of meeting Liz’s husband, David, who stepped in for breakfast duty and completely blew us away with his specialty dish.||Every room is beautifully appointed and carefully maintained. Ours was bright, spotless, with a cozy feel that made it hard to leave.||The location couldn’t be better—close to downtown Halifax yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful, with a stunning view of the Northwest Arm right outside the property.||The Pebble is charming, comfortable, and perfectly situated, but it’s Liz and David’s warmth and thoughtfulness that make it truly special. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Halifax, and we can’t wait to return!

Elizabeth has put her heart and soul into this beautiful bed and breakfast. It’s so charming, comfortable and she is delightful. I took so many photos of her gorgeous kitchen, which she designed. The location is an easy drive to the waterfront and Elizabeth gave us excellent dining suggestions. We took the ferry also from the waterfront to Dartmouth for lunch. We truly enjoyed our stay at The Pebble Bed and Breakfast in fabulous Halifax.

We stayed at the Pebble for 3 nights at the end of nearly 3 weeks all around Nova Scotia. And to put this at the start: The price may look high but it is worth each cent.|We had beautiful Inns and Motels, some hotels, another B&B, and a luxury blockhouse Lodge. All had friendly staff and/or owners.|But the best of all came at the end. The Pebble was the crown of our trip. |The living room is arranged as a lounge for the guests and decorated beautifully, The room where we had breakfast is decorated as nice as the living room with the dishes presented in cupboards with glass fronts.|Our room was spacious with a wonderful bathroom which has nearly the same size as the bedroom. Everything was clean and pretty decorated.|But the best accomodation is nothing without the host.|Liz made it a perfect stay. She is heartful, lively, full of energy and we had good conversations with her. She had very good restaurant recommendations for the city and is simply taking care of everything a guest could be helped with. She seemed to be disappointed when we declined the room service on the first morning and asked twice if we really mean that. |We had three different breakfasts speaking of the food, but on top it was served on three different beautiful dishes. We had omelettes, an oatmeal from steel cut oats which even I ate as I usually do not like oatmeal, scrambled eggs, a homemade bircher muesli with fresh fruit, each day accompanied by a self-baked bread which was the best we had in those three weeks. And as we come from Germany we know what we are talking about.|Liz puts all her love in her B&B, one can recognise this in every detail of this fabulous house.

Earlier this month we stayed 5 nights at The Pebble. For our first visit to Nova Scotia, we could not have chosen a more perfect place to begin our vacation. Without a doubt, this was the best bed & breakfast experience we have ever had anywhere in the world.||The Pebble is a beautiful house located in a quiet residential neighborhood of Halifax. We found it to be a convenient location with easy access to the many fine restaurants and other attractions of downtown Halifax, as well as an ideal center for exploring other areas within driving range on the beautiful south coast of Nova Scotia.||Every room at The Pebble is beautifully appointed and maintained. Elizabeth's good taste and attention to detail is evident everywhere. Our room was bright and airy, impeccably clean, but also welcoming and cozy. This is 5-star accommodation that feels like home.||What elevates The Pebble experience to the truly extraordinary is the opportunity to spend some time with Elizabeth, whose lively generous spirit, personal warmth and natural gift for hospitality ensures a magical experience for all her guests.||A delicious breakfast (different for each of our 5 mornings there), beautifully prepared and served by Elizabeth or David, was a wonderful way to start each day - an opportunity to meet other guests and a perfect forum for Elizabeth to help us plan our day's adventures, with lots of good suggestions and plenty of laughter.||When our time at The Pebble came to an end, it was very difficult to leave. Elizabeth will always have a special place in our hearts; we feel like we've always known her. We will definitely be back.

The Perfect Halifax Getaway! We stayed at The Pebble Bed & Breakfast in Halifax and couldn’t have had a better experience. It’s the perfect place to stay if you want to explore Halifax — close to the downtown waterfront and all the main attractions, yet peaceful and tucked away from the busy core. Our hosts were absolutely wonderful — friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The rooms were immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches everywhere. The whole property feels like a luxury boutique hotel. If you’re looking for where to stay in Halifax, especially for a romantic getaway or relaxing weekend, The Pebble Bed & Breakfast is truly the best choice. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful 3 night stay at The Pebble. Elizabeth is warm, energetic, and lovely. She went out of way to make sure we had everything we needed for a 3 night stay - delicious breakfasts, recommendations for restaurants and things to see, and she has great stories! The bed and breakfast reminded me of a small European inn (Liz and David are Irish). It is spotless with fresh crisp sheets, comfortable common areas, and in a great location. I can't recommend The Pebble highly enough - we will definitely stay here when we are back in Halifax!

This was our first visit to Halifax and it’s hard to imagine a finer bed and breakfast at which to stay than The Pebble. ||The location is very easy to find from the major roads into Halifax and its location is ideal for exploring the area. There is plenty of parking right in front of The Pebble on the street, a welcome fact given how hard it can be to park in Halifax. ||The inn itself is a beautiful home that has been beautifully decorated and made quite comfortable for guests to enjoy. ||The innkeeper Liz is a font of knowledge (about a great many things!) and she provided excellent insights regarding what to see and where to eat in Halifax, and where we should visit as we continued down the coast to Yarmouth. ||Before we left we enjoyed one of the finest B&B breakfasts we’ve ever had, with a pot of French Press coffee. ||When we return to explore Nova Scotia further this is where we will stay!||Thanks again Liz!

On a recent road trip that included Halifax Nova Scotia, we chose the Pebble B&B as our base for exploring Halifax. We did not regret that choice. The setting on side street in a quiet neighborhood made for a relaxing stay at the property and the location was perfect for getting to and from the city center and other nearby sites. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. The friendly banter around the breakfast table with other guests and our hosts was lively and enjoyable. The accommodation was excellent as were the wonderful breakfasts. If Halifax is included in future travel plans we will stay at the Pebble again.

The Pebble: no other B&B holds a candle to this lovely establishment. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back again and again without hesitation. Everything was clean and well appointed. Maid service each day. Elizabeth and her husband (he was away for work while we were there) and their daughter Lizzy (college student) were an absolute delight. Elizabeth has been in the B&B service industry for a while, and she knows how to delight and serve her customers. Elizabeth is gracious like a family member and we feel like we gained a wonderful new friend in her and Lizzy. Ask Elizabeth to tell you about the romantic story about how she named The Pebble! We miss the Pebble already, and you will not regret staying here! Location: Perfectly situated in an affluent and highly desirable location, just far enough away from the city center, Dal University, the lake and all major highways. Price: Perfectly matched for this lovely and well-appointed B&B. You will find much cheaper, but they are not even in the same league as The Pebble. We found the price rightly valued and much more that we asked for. Kids: We have a 3 years old and Elizabeth accommodated us with a small mattress which we put on the floor; this was perfect! The room is very spacious which allowed all three of us to have ample room to do our own thing. Breakfast: This was included in our stay. Elizabeth is seriously a gourmet chef and our breakfasts were so decadent each morning--we felt so taken care of.

I had the most magical stay at the Pebble B&B with my sisters. Liz has created such a warm and welcoming space, it really feels like staying with family. The house is and gardens are beautiful and the decor and furnishing are so tasteful, not to mention you're steps away from the ocean arm. Our room was very cozy with fresh towels and sheets daily. The breakfasts were also superb. Every day we had 2 homemade courses with special pebble blend coffee freshly brewed! The homemade scones and jam were particularly memorable. We loved our time here, it will be our new go-to whenever we're in Halifax. Thank you Liz!

Best B&B I've ever stayed at! House is amazing! Rooms are roomy, cozy and very clean! Breakfast is gourmet! Elizabeth, the owner; what can I say about her? She's wonderful! Charming! Friendly and helpful! I've made a friend! I absolutely loved my stay at The Pebble. I'd definitely go back!
