The Pebble

My husband and I stayed at The Pepple in late July. I had researched accommodation in Halifax, and can attest all the great reviews are accurate. Liz is a delightful hostess, our room was luxurious, comfortable, and spacious. Liz gave us dining hints regarding restaurants as well as places to visit. We felt well taken care of, and enjoyed our stay in Halifax all the more because of Liz’s hospitality and her beautiful home.

My husband, Sam and I decided to stay at the Pebble for our 3rd wedding anniversary while we were in Halifax. We are grateful we chose to spend a few nights at this gem. The house is charming with immense attention to detail inside and out. The location is ideal - it is walking distance from downtown Halifax and the ocean is observable from the bedroom. Liz was a wonderful host. She truly made us feel at home. She is friendly and inviting, her homemade breakfasts each morning were delicious. I will miss the cup of cardamom tea she prepared for me each morning and Sam loved the French pressed coffee. We also loved the night cap of port wine which was waiting for us upon our arrival back to the B&B each night. Liz had excellent dinner recommendations as well and will provide additional suggestions if you are looking for them. I would 100% recommend the Pebble if you are planning a visit to Nova Scotia. We developed fond memories of this unique B&B in the few days we were there and hope to return when we visit Halifax again in the future.

My Husband and I stayed at The Pebble recently and our stay was just incredible. Liz is a warm and wonderful person and she is an incredible host. Our room was immaculate and had everything we needed to be comfortable and relaxed. Liz offered us delicious warm scones with homemade jam with tea upon our arrival. The next morning she prepared fresh fruit with yogurt before serving the most delicious omelet and she shared some wonderful stories about the home and its history. I feel like we have a wonderful new friend. Absolutely a First Class experience in every way. |Thank you Liz for everything.

The Pebble is a wonderful place to stay when in Halifax. Elizabeth O'Carroll is a delightful host and innkeeper. Her husband David helps with breakfasts and yard care and together they make you feel you've known them for years. She shared suggestions of what to do and see and was interested in your experiences in town. The rooms are nicely appointed with linens and bath products and we met some lovely people who were also staying there. It is first rate - give it a try!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Armview room with the view of an inlet out of our windows! Our hosts Liz and David are charming and we had some lovely visits with them while enjoying the delicious breakfasts they served us. The house is gorgeous and the room very comfortable. Liz gave us some great sightseeing ideas, especially hiking Gaff Point Trail. Staying here made our trip to N.S that much more lovely!

Oh, how I love The Pebble! I came here with my husband and our 11-month-old daughter in late May and left feeling refreshed and inspired. Everything about this place is marked by care: crisply ironed gazillion thread count linens, wonderfully scented Molton Brown toiletries, tangy fresh sourdough served toasted with scrambled eggs in the morning. And I can't talk about The Pebble without singing the praises of owner Liz Chute, a delightful conversationalist, a fantastic cook, and a true expert in hospitality. She gave us great recommendations as we explored Halifax with a baby, from food to parks to bookshops. More than all of this, she made us feel truly welcome and at home. We were sorry to leave the Pebble when the time came – I hope we'll be back soon!

A hidden Gem! When I asked my daughter where she wanted to stay for her university graduation, without hesitation she said “The Pebble”. We have stayed here in the past for a girls weekend. We have also stayed at other hotels in Halifax over the years while she has attended university. The Pebble is our favourite by far. We wish we had found it sooner. The Pebble is an exquisite home in a charming quiet neighbourhood, steps from the Arm in Halifax. We enjoyed two nights with our family of six, my husband and I, our two young adult daughters and grandparents. Each of us loved our stay. Coming back to The Pebble after a busy day of activities was relaxing and just what everyone needed. Liz, the host, is extraordinary and charming. Her attention to detail is impeccable. The home is spotlessly clean. Breakfasts delicious. Linens perfectly pressed, towels top notch and wonderful Molton Brown amenities. The Pebble simply is the Best!

Thank you for an awesome stay! This was our first time to Halifax and wouldn't stay anywhere else. Close to downtown in a beautiful area. Liz was an excellent host with excellent recommendations. Great breakfast, coffee, and clean room. Spent our last evening on the patio with boats sailing by

On a recent road trip that included Halifax Nova Scotia, we chose the Pebble B&B as our base for exploring Halifax. We did not regret that choice. The setting on side street in a quiet neighborhood made for a relaxing stay at the property and the location was perfect for getting to and from the city center and other nearby sites. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. The friendly banter around the breakfast table with other guests and our hosts was lively and enjoyable. The accommodation was excellent as were the wonderful breakfasts. If Halifax is included in future travel plans we will stay at the Pebble again.

The Pebble: no other B&B holds a candle to this lovely establishment. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back again and again without hesitation. Everything was clean and well appointed. Maid service each day. Elizabeth and her husband (he was away for work while we were there) and their daughter Lizzy (college student) were an absolute delight. Elizabeth has been in the B&B service industry for a while, and she knows how to delight and serve her customers. Elizabeth is gracious like a family member and we feel like we gained a wonderful new friend in her and Lizzy. Ask Elizabeth to tell you about the romantic story about how she named The Pebble! We miss the Pebble already, and you will not regret staying here! Location: Perfectly situated in an affluent and highly desirable location, just far enough away from the city center, Dal University, the lake and all major highways. Price: Perfectly matched for this lovely and well-appointed B&B. You will find much cheaper, but they are not even in the same league as The Pebble. We found the price rightly valued and much more that we asked for. Kids: We have a 3 years old and Elizabeth accommodated us with a small mattress which we put on the floor; this was perfect! The room is very spacious which allowed all three of us to have ample room to do our own thing. Breakfast: This was included in our stay. Elizabeth is seriously a gourmet chef and our breakfasts were so decadent each morning--we felt so taken care of.

I had the most magical stay at the Pebble B&B with my sisters. Liz has created such a warm and welcoming space, it really feels like staying with family. The house is and gardens are beautiful and the decor and furnishing are so tasteful, not to mention you're steps away from the ocean arm. Our room was very cozy with fresh towels and sheets daily. The breakfasts were also superb. Every day we had 2 homemade courses with special pebble blend coffee freshly brewed! The homemade scones and jam were particularly memorable. We loved our time here, it will be our new go-to whenever we're in Halifax. Thank you Liz!

Best B&B I've ever stayed at! House is amazing! Rooms are roomy, cozy and very clean! Breakfast is gourmet! Elizabeth, the owner; what can I say about her? She's wonderful! Charming! Friendly and helpful! I've made a friend! I absolutely loved my stay at The Pebble. I'd definitely go back!
