The Pebble

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Pebble. Liz, our warm and engaging host, made us feel comfortable as soon as we walked in. She served us tea and the most wonderful scones at her kitchen table and then asked us if we had dinner plans. It was late in the day, and we confessed that we didn’t have plans, so she instantly offered a suggestion. Within minutes, we had a plan for our evening and a dinner reservation. Liz gave us a unique way to see Halifax and also facilitated one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten. (And it wasn’t at an expensive restaurant!) The Pebble is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, but it’s also a convenient 30-minute walk to downtown. It’s also a beautiful home filled with lovely paintings from a local artist ( the gallery where Liz bought is another easy walk). Our comfortable room contained a luxurious bed and an expansive bathroom with a large tub, a fantastic shower, and a vase filled with fresh peonies. Our visit was made even more memorable by Liz’s stories. Don’t miss them! If we ever make it back to Halifax, we’ll be booking another stay at The Pebble.

We began our first trip to Nova Scotia with Liz at The Pebble, and were very fortunate to have her and the house all to our ourselves at the beginning of the season. We couldn’t have been happier. The art and decor were stunning, and Liz made delicious breakfasts accompanied by plenty of local information and great conversations each day. Our 4-night stay in the Armview Suite was very comfortable and we enjoyed walks in the neighborhood and days out hiking and sightseeing. We wouldn’t hesitate to return for another stay.

A wonderful B & B. From the moment we entered the house we felt welcome. The breakfasts were scrumptious and the coffee delicious every morning! Liz and David are kind, helpful and friendly hosts. This is a gem. A meticulously designed and curated home that is kept scrupulously clean and welcoming by hosts Elizabeth and Dave. Our room on the 3rd floor was private, comfortable, and had a lovely bathroom and shower. Our breakfast included yummy oatmeal, freshly baked scones, and a delicious house coffee blend. Elizabeth is charming and has all the time in the world — both before and after your arrival — to share dining recommendations, suggestions for hikes and cultural visits in Halifax and beyond, driving directions, stories, songs, books…we were sorry to tear ourselves away a full 90 minutes later than our planned departure times! Many thanks for a perfect stay!

A Truly Unforgettable 50th Birthday Celebration in Halifax||My husband and daughter treated me to a weekend getaway in Halifax for my 50th birthday—a perfect blend of relaxation, fun, and adventure. While the trip itself was wonderful, what made it extraordinary was our stay at “The Pebble Bread and Breakfast”.||From the moment we arrived, the B&B enveloped us in warmth, as if we were being welcomed into a lovingly curated home rather than just a rental. The space was beautifully decorated, with immaculate finishing touches that showcased an impeccable sense of design, balance, and aesthetic. Every detail was thoughtfully placed, creating an atmosphere that was both visually stunning and deeply comforting—like a "warm hug." ||What made our stay truly magical was the genuine connection we formed with Liz, our host. Beyond her natural warmth and attentiveness, we discovered shared passions that led to the most meaningful conversations. The highlight for me was our long talks where we bonded over our common interests in pottery, art, literature, and history—but most profoundly, over our lived experiences as immigrants. We shared stories about the challenges, opportunities, and unique perspectives that come with building a life away from home. These conversations, filled with both laughter and reflection, transformed our stay from simply comfortable to deeply meaningful. ||In my opinion, Liz and David exemplify what the true hospitality industry calls "unobtrusive service." It’s the little things that elevate your stay—details so thoughtfully executed they make you pause in appreciation. For instance, one small but unforgettable moment captured their attention to detail perfectly: When we returned from dinner one evening, we found our room restored to its shipshape tidiness during turndown service. But it was the bathroom that truly delighted me—as I entered, I was greeted by a subtle, sweet fragrance, and there, by the sink, stood a fresh bunch of lilacs in a vase, freshly cut from their garden. That small gesture made the space feel like home all over again, inviting us to unwind and savor the moment!||I could go on and on, but all I can say is: “I cannot recommend this place enough!” On a scale of 1 to 5, I’d give it a 5 plus 1—just for Liz’s thoughtfulness and warmth. The Pebble B&B isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience that lingers in your heart long after you’ve left. If you’re looking for hospitality that feels both luxurious and deeply personal, this is your haven in Halifax!

The stay was perfect. The accommodation was immaculate, a warm welcome, delicous breakfast and excellent advice on exploring Halifax and where to eat. Easy parking and Google maps finds the property exactly. It couldn't have been better.

Like coming home!! This experience was absolutely bliss. Liz and David have created the most welcoming experience. Their home is lovely. On a recent road trip that included Halifax Nova Scotia, we chose the Pebble B&B as our base for exploring Halifax. We did not regret that choice. The setting on side street in a quiet neighborhood made for a relaxing stay at the property and the location was perfect for getting to and from the city center and other nearby sites. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, and attentive to our needs. The friendly banter around the breakfast table with other guests and our hosts was lively and enjoyable. The accommodation was excellent as were the wonderful breakfasts. If Halifax is included in future travel plans we will stay at the Pebble again.

The Pebble: no other B&B holds a candle to this lovely establishment. We absolutely loved our stay and would come back again and again without hesitation. Everything was clean and well appointed. Maid service each day. Elizabeth and her husband (he was away for work while we were there) and their daughter Lizzy (college student) were an absolute delight. Elizabeth has been in the B&B service industry for a while, and she knows how to delight and serve her customers. Elizabeth is gracious like a family member and we feel like we gained a wonderful new friend in her and Lizzy. Ask Elizabeth to tell you about the romantic story about how she named The Pebble! We miss the Pebble already, and you will not regret staying here! Location: Perfectly situated in an affluent and highly desirable location, just far enough away from the city center, Dal University, the lake and all major highways. Price: Perfectly matched for this lovely and well-appointed B&B. You will find much cheaper, but they are not even in the same league as The Pebble. We found the price rightly valued and much more that we asked for. Kids: We have a 3 years old and Elizabeth accommodated us with a small mattress which we put on the floor; this was perfect! The room is very spacious which allowed all three of us to have ample room to do our own thing. Breakfast: This was included in our stay. Elizabeth is seriously a gourmet chef and our breakfasts were so decadent each morning--we felt so taken care of.

I had the most magical stay at the Pebble B&B with my sisters. Liz has created such a warm and welcoming space, it really feels like staying with family. The house is and gardens are beautiful and the decor and furnishing are so tasteful, not to mention you're steps away from the ocean arm. Our room was very cozy with fresh towels and sheets daily. The breakfasts were also superb. Every day we had 2 homemade courses with special pebble blend coffee freshly brewed! The homemade scones and jam were particularly memorable. We loved our time here, it will be our new go-to whenever we're in Halifax. Thank you Liz!

Best B&B I've ever stayed at! House is amazing! Rooms are roomy, cozy and very clean! Breakfast is gourmet! Elizabeth, the owner; what can I say about her? She's wonderful! Charming! Friendly and helpful! I've made a friend! I absolutely loved my stay at The Pebble. I'd definitely go back!
