Such a shame.
We used to be regulars here - we loved the vibe, the staff we knew all of, the service and the food.
Sadly, the food is the only thing that has stayed consistently great. And the only reason we continue to come and basically serve ourselves. For the last I would say 3 or so years, and what seems like a major overhaul of front office house staff (that constantly seem to change, so no continuity or getting to know them like there used to be) the venue has gone from hospitality focused, warm, friendly, the restaurant side being a great ‘upmarket’ spot for special occasions, and the remaining venue a perfect spot for everything else in between - the venue is now just a faceless, impersonal building. Which is unfortunate for the poor kitchen (who seem to be the one saving grace), often we see what I assume is the Chef working outside the kitchen sending food while the manager (assuming? Though this Monday when we visited, he was wearing shorts, a tshirt and a hat!). Often we come and there isn’t even any house music on!? May I say, the venue is worth a visit for the food alone - it’s consistent, it’s fast, priced fairly and always tasty. We love to bring friends, but these days do so with a forewarning about the service. Such a shame for what is (and was) such a great venue. I hope whoever has the power to do something about the management comes to their senses, and brings the place back to its former glory by way of service.
