EDIT; After a robust discussion we were moved to a much better room but not “upgraded” as it was the same level apparently. The new room had enough made up beds for our family, a courtyard and plenty of room.
On check out I was ambushed about the original review and I agreed that I would address it but still be honest, including the conversation had with the morning staff who told me “hey, come back here” and that the original post was “not necessary”
TIPS: room 7 is appropriate for a 4 person family but I’m told it’s the only one in that layout and it cost the same as the other rooms as it’s “the same”
If you want the sofa to be made into a bed you should call ahead.
I would rate room 7 as being appropriate for the $332 but all other rooms should be much cheaper.
The whole process, the blame was put back on us for not calling ahead and clarifying what we would like, I now know to specifically ask for a bed for each child or for the sofa to be made up.
If room 7 isn’t available, every other room (I’m told) is not up to my standard.
ORIGINAL POST; Last time I stayed was a month ago and I booked direct. Nice place, good location.
This time I booked through hotels.com
Room I booked and paid for wasn’t available so they downgraded my family and I but they insist that they told us (email to junk folder of a previous address, not via hotels.com app or the one used when booking the room)
Disappointing, sure but I can wear some blame for not checking my emails whilst on holidays (even the ones not used for this booking). The frustration really starts when we rock up at midnight to find all this out and the sofa hadn’t been made up for my kid. I was still paying for the family room but got a single room with a bonus apology.
If it wasn’t prepaid my wife would have insisted we start looking elsewhere.
So 2 stars is an average from the previous experience and this terrible experience.
Oh, the advertised free car parking is being renovated. No carparking.
