The Peninsula Riverside Serviced Apartments

We decided to spend our last 2 nights in Perth in The Peninsula for nostalgic reason. This was where we stayed some 20 yrs ago on our first trip to Perth and we haven’t been there since even though we travelled every year to Perth. |Nothing much has changed and the room was well kept despite the age. There was no river view as expected. |We enjoyed the walk along the riverside and the various dining options at Mends St. probably our last stay there

We saw more than 5 cockroaches 🪳 on the first night. And more than 10 cockroach for the next 10 days. The reception manager wasn’t helpful. She just said it’s because Australia’s summer thing. And the old man staff was laughing it off. This customer service was very dismissive and disrespectful. I stayed so many hotels before and I’ve never seen this much cockroach at the once in my life. On the first night, we saw big cockroaches in the room, under the sink and in the kitchen cabinet. Another one on the door handle at the entrance, and at least three roaches moving around on the outside of the door. Imagine you will be scared to come back to this hotel every night. Because cockroach is sticking on the door handles. We saw more of cockroaches day 2 and day 3 and my friend woke up with dead cockroaches in the living room. I paid over $6.000 for this hotel for my family from overseas and they had worst experience ever. My family still had to stay there for the next 10 days, so it was 10 days of hell. However the young male staff tried to help us killing of them. They tried what they can do (just spray) but you don’t want to see dead cockroaches everywhere in the next day. It’s very unhygienic and was uncomfortable to stay there for 10days. They should investigate whether they are meeting hygiene standards. Because it was unbelievable number of cockroaches. Such a waste of money and the manager could only returned me $300 of $6000. And disrespectful customer service was the most disappointing thing. I would not stay again and recommend to people because it’s a nightmare hotel. And the staff could have done better customer service after this happened. Otherwise I wouldn’t write this.

The best hotel in Perth. We love the location, the apartment was spotless and spacious. The kitchen is great with a decent size fridge. We are travelling up north and we were carrying quite a lot of food. Everything we managed to fit it in the fridge and freezer. The staff were friendly and professional. Free parking is a big bonus. Lovely accommodation. We will come back!

Great location, can be accessed by public transport from the airport - take the Airport Line in and then the ferry at Elizabeth Quay. Stayed at start and end of visit to WA. First leg - room was a bit dusty (just myself, could even be hay fever but not sure) but excellent views. Second leg, much better despite getting the cheaper room (no direct river view). Overall very relaxing trip, free parking and convenient location with attached kitchen and accommodating service staff. Would come back when revisiting Perth.

It's a nice service apartment with free parking. Free coffee, hot milk & chocolate provided at hotel lounge with nice view. There are bars, 24hrs local supermarket, F&B nearby the hotel. Around 40mins walking distance to Perth city centre. Suitable for those who love walking & want to save money for parking at the city area.

Good location and nice view. Walking distance to nearby 24hrs supermarket, restaurants and jetty to take a ferry across to CBD. Apartment is abit old but c/w a mini kitchen whereby induction stove, microwave, fridge and utensils are readily available. Toilet is quite small and bedroom is without a door. Free parking but no guarantee will get a parking lot. Ample parking along the road outside with a small fee. A guest lounge that offers free chocolate, coffee and tea with mini entertainment. Overall, is a good stay.

Best self contained apartments in Perth. They’ve been amazing in accommodating our family these last few weeks while we’ve had a family member in hospital - can’t say enough great things about the staff. Location fabulous, self contained, comfortable beds and the best HOT showers ever!

The rooms are comfortable, and we appreciated the free parking. Best of all were the views of the Swan River and Perth CBD from the grassy park across the street, its proximity to the Perth Zoo, and its location steps away from the ferry to Elizabeth Quay. Very nice, overall.
