On the Grid : The Perish Trust

"Stepping into the Perish Trust is like stepping inside to the outdoors. Google
What a lovely store. My wife and I bought a one-of-a-kind pillow from a Mexican artist and we absolutely love it. The staff is super friendly and they have a wonderful variety of home decor.

Google
Beautiful shop full of genuinely unusual oddities. Whether it's incense that smells like a forest, a 1948 book on San Francisco, a beautiful rucksack or a local designer's mug, everything in here is great. I loved the stain glass feathers in the window. Easy to while away time (and a lot of money, too). There's also a little apothecary parlour at the back too. A stunning little shop.

Maxima Muchotraffico

Google
The most beautiful store I've been in to, in a very long while. I was overwhelmed by the special trinkets and locally made products. Prices were very fair, especially for handmade ceramics, soaps and such. Wish these guys could have an online store that stocked everything, so I could get it back home in Ohio! Walked out with a book, toothpaste and a lovely mug.

Google
I will admit, I was nervous about walking into this shop at first😅 I’m not a neutral, Coastal minimalist type of gal with a beige aesthetic. I’m a Crocs with socks, mushroom gurl… slightly different vibe. But the staff from this shop was just as friendly and welcoming, they greet/chat with you just the same and it’s that type of friendliness that makes me want to go back in ☺️

Google
My favorite shop in SF - cool artworks, books, everyday products with beautiful design. Discover something new every time I visit. The owner has such a unique taste designing the shop and picking interesting products.

Google
Great place for gifts, home accent pieces, palo santo, essential oils, one of a kind jewelry, homemade body care products. They also make custom hats. I bought a wedding gift for a friend. When they found out it was a gift they offered to wrap it in a cute box! Presentation is everything! xx

Jessica Smith

Google
Cute store, but way overpriced. A lot of trinkets, soaps, hats, journals, and whatnot. Stop in if you're walking around near the Painted Ladies and feel like picking up a souvenir or gift.

Google
Plus for being local outlet for Brins Jams; Minus for charging sales tax on tax-exempt food items because their "accounting system requires it". They declined my attempt to show them a Google search result for when SF sales tax is and is not applicable. I found the experience unpleasant.

Yelp
If you like shopping, or just looking at fun and cool curios, bookmark this store! I discovered this gem as Hubby and I were walking to Bi-Rite. I love the design of this store! Filled with lots of color, artistically designed, and makes you feel as if you walked into a page of a design magazine. Makes sense, as when I got home and googled them, it looks like one of the proprietors is a photographer, and the other is an art director. Their store nicely reflects that. That's worth a quick stop itself.

Yelp
Don't but fine jewelry from here. I spent $350 on earrings & the back fell off. Luckily, I found the earring. It was one week. I went in to let them know. No offer to get a new back or call the designer or give a spare back. Terrible service. If you're going to sell expensive jewelry, you should have good service. Carry a .05 cent back and let the designer know so I can get a replacement.

Yelp
Was excited to stop in here after a looong time since they usually have fun and unique wares to peruse. The shop girl with the dog on her lap and ubiquitous shag haircut could not be any colder, unhelpful and seemed like she could not wait for us to leave. I don't get why people agree to do a job that was customer facing if they despise doing it?

Yelp
I followed an online path that led me to Santa Fe Culinaria Blue Corn Piñon Pancake Mix. Santa Fe Culinaria is actually in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Their "Where to Buy" California listings included The Perish Trust on Divisadero Street. "Well," I thought, "I've got to go to Kaiser on Geary and Divis tomorrow. Maybe I could drop in and see if they've got any of this Blue Corn Piñon pancake mix." After leaving Kaiser, I cruised down Divisadero into The Perish Trust's neighborhood. I was plotting out my San Francisco Parking Strategy when a car pulled out of a space in front of me. I thought, "God must want me to visit this place, so I'll take that parking spot." I walked down the block and into The Perish Trust. Soon as I walked through the door, I was given a bright smile and a friendly greeting. I let the woman know what I was there for; she jumped up, led me to the blue corn piñon pancake mix, and handed it to me. It was such a nice encounter that I'm looking forward to the next time I get to visit The Perish Trust. The fact that Perish Trust is one of the few places outside of New Mexico that carries this stuff; marks them as a special place.

Yelp
Popped in on a weekend afternoon and just to look around and maybe buy something cute. When the bf and I walked in the two workers there didn't even acknowledge us. They were very cold and just gave us the vibe they wanted us to leave which honestly worked because I just got anxiety and left lol they were so unfriendly. Really cute stuff though, just grumpy people working there.

Yelp
When do I move in? Perish Trust is full of curiosities worth the visit to Divisadero for and even more for those with a predilection for a woodsman-inspired life. From furnishings suitable for a Ron Swanson forest cabin to delicate ceramic cups - I just want it all. Bring your pennies and if you're travelling from afar make a deal with yourself to only buy one thing.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my kind of store. An ode to everything rustic-ly vintage with a sprinkle of classic San Francisco - this is my kind of store. From 70's Pendleton blankets, to old typewriters, and charming cabin style accents throughout - this is my kind of store. From Vetiver crooning throughout the place and the lovely personable staff that float around this magical space - this is my kind of store. From the dim lighting, and large comfortable chairs - made for deep lounging - this is my kind of store. Full of stories, history, and carefully curated charm - this is my kind of store. Trust.

Yelp
Yes, I was drawn to the Warby Parker show room after virtually trying on pairs on the website. While the display is kinda tight, it's totally fine when fellow four eye folks cooperate and let one another try on the same frames :) The sales associate was very helpful, suggesting that I take a look with the glasses in the outdoor sun- which made a huge difference! Lastly, he wrote down the model, color, and the $5 coupon code. With my high index lenses, the complete set of glasses cost $120. Do bring a trusted friend/relative to help decide which frames flatter, since this isn't a Lenscrafters that staffs a half dozen optical technicians with expert advice :)

Yelp
What a great neighborhood gem of a store. Such a wonderful collection of one-of-a-kind items. Lovely selection of eclectic pieces. I always check out other reviews before I write my own, one review mentioned how no sales people addressed her when she came in. I actually like it when no one bothers me while I'm browsing! Especially a store of this cozy size. When I did have a question, it was easy enough to flag down the person at the desk AND she was extremely helpful. Even when I was looking at something that was completely out of my reach. P.S. Past reviews also mention some Warby Parker store in back. No such thing any more. Pity that blemished previous reviews of this great little shop and affected their star rating.

Yelp
The girl who worked here was friendly and helpful. We made an appointment online for my friend to try on glasses. He ordered his Warby Parkers shortly after and is very happy with them. Not sure how the store stays in business other than the glasses; they have lots of cool knick knacks but I can't imagine them selling much of it.

Yelp
5 stars for the name of this eclectic store of gifts, decorative objects and unique accessories for artsy interiors. One feels as if one stepped back in time to an old curiosity shop. The saleswoman is friendly and helpful. In the back corner of the store is the Warby Parker eyeglass frames popup. The selection of lovely designs is large. The frames appear quite delicate. One tries on the frames and then orders them online. For every pair of glasses they sell, they provide a pair to someone in need. Innovative, positive business model.

Yelp
I live in the hood and this is one of my favorite little boutiques- It's so unique! If you're looking for gifts then this is your go-to spot! Whoever curates these goods really puts a lot of thought and care into everything they carry. The staff is always so friendly and down to earth as well. Highly recommend. Thanks Perish Trust

Yelp
Brunette woman behind the counter was cold and had no customer service skills at all.

Yelp
As anyone reading this is probably already aware, I recently had a negative customer service experience at the Perish Trust. The owners have now personally contacted me and apologized for my bad experience. I respect their willingness to take responsibility for the incident, especially in the face of the unexpected publicity my story generated, and I am updating my review accordingly. They also addressed the condition of the item mentioned in my very first review back in December '08, which was an extra touch I really appreciated. Thank you to all of the Yelpers who've expressed your sympathy-- I hope you'll give the Perish Trust another chance as I think this has been a learning experience. Finally, we all know the Yelp policy that users should only review businesses based on their personal experiences, and I hope between that policy and a basic sense of fairness there won't be any further copycat reviews.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Warby Parker eyewear- I love my pair of Miles eyeglasses and I've been on the lookout for another pair of WP glasses for a while. The online store is awesome and the staff are fast and helpful with answering questions. I visited this store, hoping to try out some of the new collection they added this year. And as much as I love how clever the virtual try-on is online, nothing beats trying on glasses in person, right? I visited The Perish Trust on a Saturday around 4, thinking it wouldn't be very busy at all. There were four or five people in that very tight corner of where the "showroom" was located and I was immediately told by the woman working there that I needed to wait for a few minutes because they have to limit the amount of people in the showroom and she suggested I browse around the store. That's understandable. But was there really anything to browse at after 15 minutes of circling the small shop? There should be more seating in this place, or have the glasses area spread out more so there'd be more room to look at them. After I was advised by the woman working there that I could go inside the "showroom," I was left to my own devices with trying glasses on. I was totally fine with that and for a good five to ten minutes or so I was trying on glasses. What would've been customer service from the woman working there is if she said something like, "I can help you as soon as I'm done assisting this customer." But nope, nothing. I tried getting her attention, but she couldn't be bothered. After about another 10 minutes of waiting around, frustrated that I couldn't get any help, I left. What a waste of time. I guess if you have an appointment they can provide better assistance, but the "walk-ins are welcome" note on the web site is a joke.

Yelp
The curation of product here is unbelievable. A nice place to shop and take a look. However, while we were walking this very small store for about 5 minutes, neither of us where greeted by the 3 people working there. Are you kidding me? Also, one of the people working there physically blocked me from looking at something, and also I heard her bitching about something. These people are probably new to retail, but I will give them a huge 5 stars for buying merchandise that is unique, interesting, and on trend. Their buying and merchandising is top-notch. Their customer service and pricing is another thing. The pricing was ridiculous. Attitude + Cool Goods (does not) = high prices. These comments are purelyy for the store, not the Warby Parker showcase inside.

Yelp
Like Jessica L. said, "I don't get it." But I do know that I like it. Stopped in during the Divisadero Art Walk and I quite enjoyed it. I felt like I had been warped back into time and was picking out a present for Ernest Hemingway (as played by my future husband, Chris *sigh* O'Donnell in "In Love and War"). An old fancy typewriter? check! A vintage suitcase? check! Antique-modern jewelry? check! I'd like to think that if I had lived then and Ernest really was Chris, then me packing my vintage suitcase, rocking my new jewelry, and wrapping up the ol' typewriter with a big red bow would have saved him from his spiralling depression. We would have had 2.5 kids, a dog, and lived on a lake where I could swim and sunbathe and he could write me love poems. ***HHHHHHOOOONNNNKKKK*** WTF was that?!?! Oh, yeah. It's the gosh darn muni and a cab driver duking it out in the middle of the hustle and bustle of San Francisco. Well... so much for my fantasy world.

Yelp
This store reminds me of The Band for some reason. As in The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, I Shall Be Released, and The Weight. It's got this southern, old world charm to it, with just the right amount of melancholy. There's a smattering of knick-knacks and what-nots throughout, just waiting to be discovered. Curious paintings from local artists, antiquated and dusty books, a well-worn suitcase or two, civil war figurines, even a gun lamp. It's definitely an odd time-trip, complete with a barrel of peanuts in the shell (eat some, they're good). The main attraction is their collection of vintage typewriters (and respective cases by the counter). Just looking them over, pressing down on a few keys, you're brought back to another time, one that thankfully didn't include texting and instant messaging, let alone spell check. But if I had to pick my favorite thing about the store, it's that right under the sign "The Parish Trust" are the words "The Perish Trust." What does this double play on words mean? Is the church dying? Aren't we all? Hmm, maybe there was something in those peanuts...

Yelp
This store is amazing. Do you love flea markets? Do you get anxious, exited, and sweaty when thinking about striking up some good deals? Imagine finding that rare artifact that no one's heard of but you will have a story to tell once it's in your hands. The Perish Trust provides you with the necessary tools and trinkets to keep your house guests guessing. This unique store houses some hard-to-find artifacts as it acts as a antique shop and eye glass store. The decor in this place is simply brilliant appearing as if nothing is for sale, while I'm sure it all is regardless of hanging price tag or not. I want to curl up on one of their couches while reading a book printed 50+ years ago. Typing up your latest novel wont be a problem with their mini collection of typewriters. Check this place out for yourself, whether you need an elegant pair of glasses or some cool pieces of "art" for your home.

Yelp
Owners have great style and have collected lots of lovely oddities. I have no idea why other reviews complain of the service, the owners are charming and I appreciate that their behavior is that of real people and not of cheesy salespeople.

Yelp
The Perish Trust is an art & Americana-style furnishings store where you can find all sort of antique items, odd vintage collectibles and unique artwork to decorate your home. Despite the outside busy car traffic on Divisadero street, the space inside is very serene/quiet and the low lights contribute to the pleasant ambiance. There was a friendly woman and a little kid when I visited. I only came by to buy a box of chocolate caramels, but if I ever have a need to decorate a fancy study room and the cash to pay for it, I'd consider coming back to shop at this store. Cash or check only. Hours: Wed 6-9pm Thu 6-9pm Fri - closed Sat 2-6pm Sun 1-5pm (check website for schedule updates http://theperishtrust.com/hours/)

Yelp
I came to check out the Warby Parker collection. I emailed the store to see if I could check it out but they said that I'd have to instead make an appointment with Warby Parker directly. It seems odd because the store isn't that big and how hard would it be to train the employees? No harm, no foul. Anyhow I made an appointment with Warby Parker. Finding The Perish Trust was a bit of a challenge. The shop is really small and easy to miss. Once I was inside I wasn't sure what kind of store this is. It's not exactly a decorating store nor is it a novelty store. It's kinda of both? It's stuff that would be on American Pickers yet with a gothic, steampunk, and almost Burning Man-like fascination. They carry things like vintage metal keys, typewriters, ship in a bottle, obscure books, and little trinkets. What makes me scratch my head is who is their customer base? The merchandise isn't useful enough for any interior decorator nor are the items that novel to be sought out by any collector. But hey, if there's a demand for a it more power to them. The Warby Parker showroom takes up one wall in the back. it's not as big as I thought it would be since this is only one of four Warby Parker showrooms in the country. However they did state that the frames available were all the ones that are available online (minus the ones that are out of stock). They have a wall mirror, two hand mirrors, and a smaller mirror on the wall. They also have an iMac where you can take pictures of yourself to compare frames. I was given a $5 coupon on my purchase yet I don't think I'm going to buy them. I'd still recommend trying out Warby Parker if you're curious. _____ I applaud the Perish Trust for such an eclectic range of merchandise. Yet I'm not sure how they manage to stay afloat. The Warby Parker selection is good.
google avatar

Paul U.

Yelp
Disappointing That's the only word that comes to mind about this Warby Parker "showroom" in San Francisco. Actually I have a few more words. Small. Tiny. Similar designs. "Showroom?" Really?!?!? Their section in the store is the size of a very small walk in pantry. The complete opposite of what myself and my girlfriend thought it would be after browsing their website and reading many received articles about their frames in magazines. Needless to say, I did not purchase anything after trying on over a dozen frames without any assistance. Disappointed.

Yelp
Beard grooming products - tick. Gourmet food items - tick. Expensive clothes that are made to look like you don't care about fashion- tick. Random pieces of vintage furniture - tick. Indie soundtrack - tick. I want to despise places like this, but secretly I love them and can't not buy something to add to my ever growing collection of hipster accesories and house hold items.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
I have no idea how to review this place. It's very strange - but its supposed to be art and antiques. I don't get it :( .....but I think that's supposed to make it cool. Worth perusing.

Yelp
Walking down Divis this evening i spied a new looking shop from the other side of the street between Fulton and Grove. I thought it was a restaurant and ran across the street to check it out. To be honest, the name almost scared me off, it looked like it may have been a little culty for me, but the owner saw me looking in the window and invited me in to take a look. He seemed pretty nice and told me that they had just opened a couple of days prior. What a cool little shop. They have tons of antiques including many typewriters, nautical stuff, toys, darts, and other cool stuff. They also feature some artists work that range from cool functional stuff like lamps, to things that are just pretty to look at. I was impressed with a tree painted on a series of plates that were mounted on the wall. This shop would fit nicely on Valencia, or maybe in the Haight with all its oddities, but I'm glad that i don't have to go that far to check out their cool nic-nacs.

Yelp
Swung by to try on some Warby Parker glasses and loved the store and service. I came with some kids I mentor and the folks there were really nice about letting them play on the typewriter and generally goof off while I tried on my frames. Unlike other reviewers I had no issue getting in (they were open when they said they'd be). Unlike any eye glass buying experience I've had...not the least because I didn't have to drop several hundred $ for glasses. Love that I can get good looking glasses for $95 (and donate a pair to folks in need). Perish + Warby = unique browsing and glasses
google avatar

Hannah L.

Yelp
I am so grateful that Warby Parkers features their glasses for try-on in San Francisco. I'm even more grateful that the store they're hosted in is quirky, interesting, and has old typewriters. Score! The lovely lady who helped me pick out and try on glasses was super patient, helpful, and just awesome overall. In fact, I've made a haiku ode to Perish Trust and Warby Parkers as a result of my experience here: Oh hai, new thick frames! I'm so happy to see you On the shelves back here. Thanks to friendly staff, I am now a proud owner Of 'Colton' glasses!
google avatar

P G.

Yelp
The girl/lady at the Warby Parker glasses couldn't be bothered with me. No smile, no sign of life in this dead girl just collecting her minimum wage. And the WP glasses, well, this is no show room, and most of the glasses looked the same in this cramped nook. WP offers more on the web site. Additionally, they are all made in CHINA. Look out as I am sure if you break them you can kiss them good bye. Also, they don't offer progressives for reading. I'd rather pay double for get customer service with glasses that will be repaired when needed.

Yelp
First off, good luck finding this place open. It's right by my house and I've been by over 2 dozen times and only found it open once. I asked if they had hours and they said, "we're generally open on Wed/Thursday evenings and on the weekends." I went during that weekend and they were closed both days. If you do find this place open... then here is my review - minus one star for inconvenience factor: Where has this place been my whole life! It's perfectly my style which I call, "Bohemian Chic meets City of the Lost Children." I walked in to this store and was immediately inspired. I love it. I felt like I walked into an amazing art gallery from another place in time. There's something magical about it. The prices are pretty steep overall. However, purely from an artistic point of view, it's worth a visit. Who knows, you may find something you like, too?!
google avatar

Yelp
The store had a lot of cool stuff, but I came for the Warby Parker glasses and was very impressed. The gentleman and lady that were working both helped me try on pairs of glasses and determine what was best suited for my face. They also gave me opinions on what they thought looked best. This was very refreshing as the employees at Lenscrafter don't seem to care one way or another. They measured my PD, I ordered the glasses online, and they came out great.
google avatar

Dizzy L.

Yelp
In Perish Trust there is a set up toward the back that is a Warby Parker Eyeglasses spot. You can go to the Warby Parker website and schedule a time to try on glasses here at PT. Even though you can virtually try on glasses on the website and you can also have the company mail you 5 pairs of glasses to try on no charge -- this is way more the way to go -- all the glasses are here... no mailing back and forth, no pretend views of your face in glasses. Warby Parker is great because there is usually a pair that will work for you and they do that buy a pair/give a pair system like Tom's Shoes does - which is a good world caring perk. And the glasses are cheap! $95 or $90 if the PT people give you a card with their $5 off promo code. And Perish Trust as an entire shop is pretty neat place to visit all in all - another member of the newer-fangled Diviz gang.

Yelp
Treasures! There is a theme to this collection that you can fell but not quite describe. You can't describe the theme without rambling and listing most of the items, but you can feel it quite strongly. And it feels wonderful. Rod is the perfect curator for The Perish Trust.
google avatar

Tiffany S.

Yelp
Visited the Perish Trust to try on Warby Parker frames in person. The sales associates were great in recommending frames that fit your facial structure, but it's probably better if you have a couple friends to come with you to help you decide on a good pair of frames.
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
This little nook is sort-of a nostalgic time capsule. Beautiful (mostly decorative) antique typewriters everywhere, and a showroom for Warby Parker eyewear. Warby Parker provides beautiful vintage-inspired frames and lenses at a very cheap price. They do a "Tom's" sort of initiative, the one-for-one purchase. You get glasses, and a pair is donated to charity. The showroom in the back, quaint and to-the-point, has a lot of different pairs to try on (by appointment). I got my glasses after an appointment there this summer, take a peek at my profile picture to get an idea.
google avatar

Melissa J.

Yelp
Ok, you cooky kids. You won. You said you'd be open, and gosh darnit, you were. and I came inside. I wrote love letters on your typewriters, I touched all your pretty furniture and vintage trinkets, and then I bought a box of salted caramels. and when I came home last night, I sat down on the floor and savored two of them one after the other. Pretty much the most delightful piece of heavenly goodness I've ever tasted. I'm now obsessed and panicked that I won't get back in time to get more before I run out. Thank you for existing. Thank you for letting me molest your typerwriters. Thank you for making the world's best candy. Now keep that OPEN signed turned to the front, and I'll be your best customer.

Yelp
This isn't a store so much as a museum. So if you thought you were going to go here with the prospect of actually buying something for your home, think again. That's not to say you can't, because you obviously can, but the prices are steep, and the selection is eccentric. It's a treasure trove of beautiful, old, rickety useless stuff! And that's how I like my antique stores. They've got jewelry, trinkets, typewriters, taxidermy, gorgeous old books, all to fill that steampunk-y void in your life. A star off for the prices, I understand that a lot of this stuff is difficult to come by, but some of these things are basically unusable, so why's it cost so much? I'm as superficial as the next person but come on. Truly, though, beautiful selection of carefully curated goods. Go here to even just have a look around.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
I really like this place as a great hands-on Warby Parker experience. The people are helpful, there are tons of frames and you get a very small WP discount if you try on glasses there. But I don't understand the rest of the store. I've been going there on and off for the past year and I feel like I see exactly the same stuff in the store every time. Maybe I'm just not paying close attention to details--it all seems like old typewriters and antique letters. Still, it's a pretty cool place.
google avatar

Allison S.

Yelp
Walked in expecting exactly what I got: a cool antiques store with an optical section to die for. Nautical fans, typewriter fans, Scouting paraphernalia fans: the Perish Trust is your jam. Beautiful, whimsical, ugly pretty things with prices ranging from reasonable to huh-what!? The Warby Parker area is in the back is a bit tight, but their entire inventory is available for trying on. Bonus: try on glasses in store, and get a discount when you finally order your frames online. Nice.

Yelp
I came here today to try actual Warby Parker eyeglasses on. I didn't want to wait forever for them to ship me only 5 at a time. So...to The Perish Trust I went. The one problem I have with this store is the inconsistent hours. They change every week and there is no number. I've emailed them twice and they have been pretty helpful with telling me their times. So I showed up at 2pm, and the store was closed. Sadface. But I hung around for a while and saw a girl briskly walking down the street. She worked there! Yay! So she opened the gate and told me she was sorry for being late. I tried on my glasses and she was super sweet and helped my pick the right one. AND! She gave me a coupon code for 5% off. They didn't have any of the Hooker chocolates today but she was helpful and told me that they have their own store. So I left with nothing but she was super helpful. Would definitely come again to look around.

Yelp
Stepped into the Parish Trust to scope some Warby Parker frames with a good friend and felt as though I'd hopped in the Delorean to an era long gone. It's rad old timey decor complete with period typewriters, unfinished oak, and1940s tricycle felt thoughtfully authentic. Within moments of poking around the friendly staff put on the sultry sounds of Bessie Banks and successfully locked their nostalgic ambiance. The entire Warby Parker eyewear collection was available to try on. Modernized versions of classic 50s frames for the amazing price of $97 including lens. Add on $5 discount from Parish Trust and you've got the best deal on eye glasses I've ever heard. As if the brand could get better Warby Parker outdoes itself with it's matching frames donation program. If you care about pro-social causes like I do, this seals the deal. I'll be back for the Owens or Winstons when I'm little less dazed and hazed from last night's debauchery.

Yelp
Warby Parker showcase is inside The Perish Trust. The location is a bit iffy. Parking varies. Even though Warby Parker has the Home Try On deal, visiting their showcase is beneficial. When you order in person, you can get $5 off. The only issue I've encountered was discovering my pupillary distance. Warby Parker made it a huge deal that the pupillary distance must be examined by the optometrist. However my optometrist cannot preform this because I am not purchasing glasses from their company. Anyway, in the end, another Warby Parker staff ended up measuring my pupillary distance which ended this nonsense. Nobody wanted to be responsible if the pupillary distance was measured incorrectly. (FYI - Warby Parker has a 30 day return deal after receiving the prescription glasses.)

Yelp
I desperately want everything inside! Particularly the beautiful ship in a bottle & the jewelry! Excellent store tucked away on Divis in the Western Addition. The glasses in the back are seriously affordable and pretty hip..ster! ;) xo

Yelp
Where do I start?! Kelly is a sweetheart with a flair for fabulous. I've never met Rod, but he can do no wrong in my eyes. Just look at this masterpiece of a shop. I see the folks that reviewed this as, "I don't get it." My answer is "Good!" More for me and more for the people that can appreciate a home with soul, with history, with a story. IKEA is there for the "I don't get it" club. I have purchased a few items from here and every time I do, Kelly takes the time to answer questions, tell a story, or just listen to where this new treasure will fit into my collection. I have now moved to the east coast, but make it to SF every month and the Perish Trust is the first stop I want to make. With that said, I always have to plan a little due to their schedule, but if that is all it takes to be swept away and marvel...then damn it, sign me up! Great job recognizing that we all have a past and to keep it alive with such beautiful pieces from days gone by that fit perfectly into a modern world.

Yelp
One of these places that don't acknowlege the customer..no "good afternoon", no smile, no looking up from the cell phone. I made a special trip across town and over here and some interesting items, I suppose, but I will spend my money where I am shown some common courtesy. Call me old-fashioned.

Yelp
Welllll, it just seems very dated to me. Like the stepchild of North Beach's ARIA on Grant St. I mean, do people really BUY old typewriters for these prices?? You can go to any flea market and get one for about $ 15.00 or less. And what decor wants that anyway! Also, I am getting kinda of tired of the SF gothic aesthetic that is all about the D's = dirt, damaged, dusty, and the R = rusted. It just seems so 1990s to me. The owners seem nice, but I doubt if this store will have a long shelf life. Their prices don't mesh with the location, and I doubt if the Valencia St. antique/midcentury crowd will find much of interest to make the trip. AND, the shop's hours are really limited, which is bound to impact business very soon.

Yelp
This place is creepy. Hostile staff, mediocre merchandise. There are so many better places to shop.

Yelp
Warby Parker sells inexpensive eyeglasses online and they have a show room on Divisadero where you can try on their full line. This is a great idea and I am glad I could do this. However, it is located in the back of another store full of highly curated garage sale junk nobody cares about. The junk takes up 95% of the area so if you want to see the glasses you have to cram into this tiny space in the back of the store, with a million other people who are there for the eyeglasses too. Not only that but the curators of the crap have the lighting turned down really low like it is somehow cooler than cool. This is totally not functional and you can't really see what the glasses look like aside from the vague shape on your face. You can't see the color for sure. Udder stupidity all in the name of style.

Yelp
If nothing else, come here for the Warby Parker glasses. I mean, how can you go wrong with $95 frames/lenses?!? All of their latest styles are in the store for you to try on and the last time that I was there, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't speak much for the other items in the store but definitely stop by for some great retro frames at inexpensive prices.
