I always felt like Pharmacy was underrated—and I still do. Very few places in Orlando take their cocktails seriously, but these guys do and, yes, they make strong drinks. The bitters and some of the spirits are house-made. Their creations are different; you will find more than the garden-variety rip-offs of classics. I’m bored with bars that simply rename an Old Fashioned, a Negroni or a Manhattan and pass it off as unique (“ooh, we used this vermouth instead of that vermouth”).
Now, I can’t promise that you’ll love every cocktail at Pharmacy—but they’re well-designed, different, interesting and worth the price of admission. That’s what it’s all about, right?
The food is good, though not always stellar. The ambience could be more “period appropriate,” I suppose. But for me, it was always about the superb cocktails.
