Wonderful stay at The Pheasant. Looked after us well, very friendly service, great food and the rooms were immaculate. We stayed here for a friend’s wedding and were very impressed. The staff were lovely. Only thing I would recommend would be a little bell on the bar as could sometimes be waiting a while for someone to see you arrive. Would definitely stay again.

The room was pleasant. The bunk beds were a bit wobbly but my boys had a restful sleep. Beautifully made beds with immaculate white sheets. Very comfy beds. Clean towels every day. The food was outstanding we had breakfast and evening meal everyday with no complaints. The lamb melts in your mouth, the wellington was beautiful as was the butter chicken etc. breakfast was fantastic with a really good choice. In fact it’s the best food we have eaten out for a very long time. I like the fact the children’s menu included food off the adult menu and wasn’t just chicken nuggets and chips. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a better few days. We will definitely go back without hesitation.

We had 3 nights at the Pheasant Inn, staying in a very comfortable room which was located outside of the Inn but within seconds walk of the entrance. The room was quiet, comfortable (although a bit snug getting past the end of the bed), with an amazing shower room. Best shower we've ever used, lovely hot towel rail which kept the towels dry and the room warm. Plenty of room for your toiletries which is often lacking. |Breakfast was chosen the night before from a menu and was very good indeed. We ate in the restaurant each night as well and the food was excellent, and the staff very friendly and pleasant. It's a really lovely old building with lots of interesting things to look at on the walls etc. |We've been going to Kielder for over 20 years and usually stay at the lodges. We decided to have a change as we no longer have a dog, they're not allowed at the Inn so we'd never been before. I'm glad we did as sadly Kielder is not what it used to be. We travelled into Scotland and across to more Eastern parts of Northumberland instead, all within comfortable reach from the Inn. All in all we had a lovely time and will definitely stay there again.

Drove past on way to campsite, commented to husband ‘I wonder if the Pheasant is pleasant?’ |Came on here, read review and booked in. We weren’t disappointed! |Lovely setting, cosy rooms (as in the pub rather than accommodation), attentive staff and delicious food! The attached accommodation looked lovely from our side and would consider for future visits if we don’t rough it camping! |Anyway, I took some photo’s to add to review. |If you are there, give it a go, but yes prebook. There were 2 large groups in when we went so was advised to come earlier that we planned. There were some folk just walking in, and staff advised them there may be a wait, but they did seem to sort them out pretty quickly. |Highly recommend!

We had a very enjoyable stay with delicious breakfasts and evening meals. |The owners and staff are very welcoming and friendly - as they have been when we stayed here on a few occasions in the past.|I agree with a previous reviewer that the pillows are particularly soft and comfortable, would love to know where to buy similar ones. |Stephen and Sandra

We stopped by whilst on our holiday for Sunday dinner and it was absolutely amazing! The lamb was delicious and just tasted fantastic! Next time we are in the area we will definitely drop by. Would highly recommend 👍

We were enroute to the Kielder Observatory for a planetary delight. The Pheasant Inn was suggested in the online bumph, so we booked. The Pheasant Inn is so much more than a pleasant Inn. We enjoyed our meal and particularly dessert, as we were trying to kill three hours before our night-time (11-01pm) Observatory session. The staff were thoroughly attentive and friendly and cleared us a table after the meal for us to spend time playing cards, whilst still supping drinks from the bar. I can recommend the pleasant Pheasant, whether staying up all night or not.

Delicious food and friendly Northumbrian staff - what a great combination for a few days stay in this beautiful place. Very peaceful location, with comfortable room and lots of hot water for the powerful shower. Quite a find for anyone travelling in this part of the country
