It was decent. It's a nice space and well-maintained. The plants just lacked variety, especially for Florida. Would be a nice place for a picnic or to read a book. My friends and I took our time walking through. I guess we were on the wrong side because it took us awhile to find the entrance. There are bathrooms in one of the buildings if you need those facilities.

Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden includes 20 sculptures by world renowned artists, some of whom are residents of South Florida

Google
Absolutely, a gem. What a wonderful and well maintained sculpture garden in the middle of west palm...with a classy nice touch; a pavilion with water dispensers and temperature controlled clean toilets.

Beautiful. Peaceful. So grateful that gardens like this exist.

Google
Beautiful, relaxing, an outdoor experience worth the drive. It is free, there are bathrooms on premises.

Almost a sanctuary! They could easily add more sculptures but then it might be too crowded.

Yelp
If you're looking for a budget-friendly yet charming date idea, this place is a must-visit. It's especially great in the summer when you want to escape the heat but still enjoy some time outdoors. The beautiful gardens provide ample shade, making it comfortable to relax and explore without feeling the sun's intensity. With plenty of benches and quiet spots, it's perfect for reading a book, reflecting, or simply taking in the sculptures and lush scenery. Whether you're after peace and quiet or a unique date experience, this spot delivers!

Yelp
This review is for the Walter S. Gubelmann Auditorium within the Society of Four Arts complex. We saw the Jerusalem Quartet and they were excellent. I thought the music itself was a bit flat and lacked dynamics as if they didn't want to rile the geriatric audience too much. Moreover, the audience's average age seemed to be about 85; aren't younger generations into classical music? Maybe Four Arts needs better marketing toward younger people. The venue is tired and in need of an update. It reminded me of my high school auditorium in the mid 80s with a bit of stodgy fanciness added to it. The audience could barely muster clapping in between the songs. And there was absolutely no musician interaction with the audience, other than the music itself. How about a "hello, it's a pleasure to be here" or "let me introduce the group..". We left during the intermission; that's how dull it was. The auditorium had a hint of mustiness and I could swear I could smell mothballs.

Yelp
Because it is not free, we are evaluating with the value. The minor fees we pay for entrance, the display room is very small for summer display. I think is not worth the money. The annex sculpture garden is basically free to public even they said is part of the ticket. The indoor display is one and half hall. The summer display the Africa animal picture that captures the lively of the movement. The sculpture garden is wide spread. The garden do divide into several sections. The Chinese garden is the best. The visit only take 1.5 hours. Easy walking path. This review is 3.5 stars with round up.

Yelp
We came here in June to see the art exhibits and the gardens, unfortunately the art exhibits are closed already for the summer season. The outdoor Gardens were beautiful they have variety of different gardens ,including a Chinese Garden, sculpture garden, Etc

Yelp
Such a tranquil sculpture and botanical garden, great for a leisurely stroll. Although the area is small, there's free entry, close street parking, and clean restrooms. We finished exploring in less than an hour. With little shade available, we melted under the blaring sun - Don't forget to bring a hat and sunblock!

Yelp
This review is for the sculpture garden only. Great little place to step off the beaten path in Palm Beach. Stroll through some beautifully landscaped garden areas enhanced by sculpture installations and water fountains. Would be a great place for a picnic (even better with a bottle of wine, though I'm not sure if that's allowed). There are shady areas, covered areas, benches, lawns, tables and chairs. Plus, hundreds of tropical plants and flowers on display throughout the grounds. If you're looking for a quiet escape, I highly recommend! Oh, and did I mention it's free?!

Yelp
The Joseph and Gioconda King Library, otherwise known as the Four Arts Library, before the naming gift craze took hold, is a redolent space filled with the scent of cypress. Regulars here have their issues of the NYTimes set aside for them. The free paperbacks cart is inviting, as always.

Yelp
Nice place to walk around and enjoy the art, gardens and sculptures. You can sit for a while and it is very peaceful there.

Yelp
We went there this past weekend to drive around. We drove and found this very relaxing place. While it was quite hot out. It was still nice and relaxing. We took a few pictures and saw a few people with their yoga mats doing yoga. It was nice to feel the colorful lanscape and the smell of the different flowers that the garden had..

Yelp
Great place for a stroll with the family. Also amazing place for photo ops. The garden is so beautiful and there's a decent size lawn that is great for kids to get their energy out.

Yelp
There are magical gardens, sculptures & a walking tour behind the library. We walked to the right, picked up a walking tour and wandered into the gardens. This non-profits mission is to promote art, literature, music and drama offering a calendar full of diverse concerts, films, exhibits, speakers, workshops & classes. I've tried to join and am on the waiting list. The Gioconda & Joseph King Library is a grand Mediterranean building with a mural depicting art, literature, music & drama painter by Albert Herter in 1939. The two bronze panthers guard the entrance to the library. The Botanical Garden is lush and tropical with lots of benches, sculptures, water features & plants to admire. The Moonlight, Chinese, Jungle, Palm & Madonna Gardens were impressive; a perfect location for a wedding or outdoor event. We walked through beautiful pergolas, past the two Peacock Monuments on our way into the Pannill Pavillion filled with fountains, lush foliage and the four seasons sculptures by Philip Haas. He painted four large fiberglass head sculptures to represent each season, inspired by Mannerist Giuseppe Arcimboldo. I sat on a bench between life size sculptures of Roosevelt & Churchill in Lawrence Holofcener's The Allies in bronze & wood.

Yelp
Visited the Gardens of The Society of the Four Arts. The entrance is free. What a beautiful place to visit. Young old and with kids or alone. The gardens are very beautiful and well kept. There are many beautiful sculptures and photo opportunities. There was a special exhibit, by Phillip Haas. The other buildings around were closed, exhibits were being redone. The gardens are two blocks from Worth Ave.

Yelp
Great find in Palm beach. Very relaxing walking and enjoying the sculptures and beautiful botanical garden.I love that it is free . Here is some information on this gem. The Society of the Four Art is a non-profit charity organization that was founded in 1936. Its campus on the Intracoastal Waterway in Palm Beach is home to the Esther B. O'Keeffe Gallery Building, which includes the Esther B. O'Keeffe Art Gallery, a concert hall auditorium, two libraries, an administration building, and gardens. The Plaza's original building by Maurice Fatio now houses the town's library. The O'Keefe Gallery building was designed by architect Addison Mizner. The Mary Alice Fortin Children's Art Gallery is on the second floor of the Rovensky Administration building, as well as the Four Arts Children's Library. The Four Arts Gardens, also known as the Four Arts Library, Gardens and Philip Hulitar Sculpture Gardens, are nonprofit botanical gardens at 100 Four Arts Plaza, Palm Beach, Florida on the campus of The Society of the Four Arts. The area consists of two gardens, including the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Gardens and the Four Arts Botanical Gardens. The gardens are open seven days a week, and there is no charge for admission. The society's two libraries serve as the local public libraries for the Town of Palm Beach. Four Arts Botanical Gardens The Four Arts Botanical Gardens are demonstration gardens maintained by the Palm Beach Garden Club, in partnership with property owners, The Society of the Four Arts. Seven society ladies and one gentleman planned the original gardens in the 1930s, to incorporate a series of garden rooms with different themes. Its original purpose was to display the diversity of tropical plants suitable for landscaping in the South Florida climate. Seven demonstration gardens illustrate different styles of landscaping and information on drought and heat tolerant plants. Founder Mrs. J.S. Phipps built a Spanish façade to demonstrate plantings suitable for a Spanish-style house. Mrs. Joseph F. Gunster created a moonlight garden of white-blooming vines and shrubs. Mrs. Clifford V. Brokaw landscaped an area suitable for a colonial-style house; Mrs. Lorenzo Woodhouse designed a beautiful Chinese garden as a memorial to her daughter. Mrs. Hugh Dillman planted a rose garden; Dr. LeRoy Dow, a jungle garden, and Mrs. Alfred G. Kay used a wall fountain with a Madonna sculpture as a focal point for a garden of small tropical fruit trees. In the 1950s, the landscape architecture firm of Innocenti & Webel was retained to improve the garden's architectural features, to relate the garden's separate elements more closely to one another, and to create a master plan which included many rare specimen plants. In the summer of 2004, hurricanes Frances and Jeanne all but destroyed the Four Arts Gardens. The Four Arts undertook a major reconstruction project that not only restored the gardens according to Innocenti & Webel's master plan, but also added new irrigation, re-circulating pumps for fountains, a new electrical system, more comfortable seating, and improved walkways to ensure accessibility for the handicapped and safety for all visitors. Irrigation, electrical, and drainage systems have been significantly modernized, but remain hidden. Philip Hulitar Sculpture Gardens Adjacent to the botanical gardens is the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden, which serves as an outdoor museum, urban park, and botanical garden for the town of Palm Beach. Sculptures are curated by The Society of the Four Arts, advised by its Art Acquisition Committee. In 1979, Palm Beach resident Philip Hulitar was approached by The Society of the Four Arts, and asked to draft a plan which included a garden wall and sculpture garden on a previously undeveloped land lot, subsequently named in honor of its designer. In February 2002, The Four Arts announced plans to enhance the Hulitar Sculpture garden by adding the park-like elements seen today: new walkways and plantings, fountains and seating, security and event lighting, a plaza and fountain, and a garden pavilion. The landscape architecture firm Morgan Wheelock, Inc was selected for the design. Among many others, sculptures currently on display include works by Lawrence Holofcener, Luis Montoya, Leslie Ortiz, Felipe Castaneda, Diana Guest, Philip Jackson, Dan Ostermiller, Ira Bruce Reines, Jose Antonio Villalobos, and Augusts Saint-Gaudens.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful garden to roam around in with different Culture specific gardens. Beautiful sculptures and art and plants. We had the cutest curly tail lizard follow us for food scraps. It's completely free outside and so is parking. There are tables to eat a picnic at and it's just lovely!

Yelp
Our Spring Break Staycation brought us to West Palm area in search of free art. We found it at this museum and garden. They currently have a Charles and Jackson Pollock art exhibit. You can watch a short video of Jackson splashing paint to create his painting. It was great to see the contrast between the use of black paint vs the colorful backgrounds. Teachers and students receive free admission to the art gallery. To visit the gardens, you walk across the street to the library building. The gates are opened to allow free admission to visitors. What a peaceful and educational find! There are numerous benches in the garden to sit and absorb the tranquility and creativity of each detail of the garden.

Yelp
While The Society of the Four Arts is largely a membership association, you can still get tickets: you just have to apply once members have placed their orders. The delightful, magical garden is FREE. One friend takes a book there to just sit and read quietly. The programs are first rate. A boon to PB. Chaired by the able Dr. Randolph Guthrie, and helmed by Philip Rylands, this is a tremendous cultural resource for the county. With friends, I have watched wonderful documentaries on art and other subjects: attended the opera, particularly enjoyed taking courses with Juliette de Marcellus. Taylor Hagood gives engrossing lectures. There are live music performances, recorded operas from the Met, and ballet from the Bolshoi. There are always offerings each season from The English National Theatre (film video of course). Jazz, flamenco and ballroom dancing have all taken the stage here. The Esther O'Keefe speakers series is always a hot ticket. How does The Four Arts get the most interesting if not controversial people to discuss politics or whatever! I should mention the Art Gallery. Always something to look at. Love "A Glorious Mess", as the current exhibition of textile art is titled. Someone has a sense of humor. The annual House and Garden Day outdoor boutique offers super little gifts for family and friends. Stock up to give on holidays and birthdays. Finally, The Four Arts now has its own app! So convenient for members. Should mention parking can be tight. If you can walk or get a ride, so much the better.

Yelp
Thanks to Ariel W for introducing me to this amazingly beautiful botanical and sculpture garden. It's open to the public everyday and it's free. It's the kind of "wow" place you will want to come back to several times, because you won't be able to absorb it all in one visit. And the kind of place to bring your out of state guests who complain that there's no culture in south Florida. The Society of the Four Arts was founded in 1936 to share culture with everyone. The "four" means music, art, drama, and literature. They offer various programs throughout the year. The botanical part of the gardens was designed in 1938 and is divided into nine areas. The original idea was to display the "diversity of tropical plants" suitable for Florida landscaping. The areas range from a formal garden, tropical garden and a palm garden to a Spanish and bromeliad garden. I especially liked the Chinese garden as it reminded me of some of any mom's favorite oriental decor. The sculpture garden has paths by various sculptures, walkways under pergolas, and some pavilions and buildings as well as terraces and wide lawns perfect for events. The sculpture garden was completely redesigned in 2006/2007 to be both a garden and an outdoor museum. Sculptures range from the modern styles to various antique era styles. They are fashioned from bronze, gilded bronze, painted steel, aluminum, and even stainless steel. There is something for everyone. I particularly liked a sculpture entitled "giraffes". They were two quite small bronzes side by side that made me think of them as a couple or two very good friends having a good time. I also liked a large gold statue of Diana. It was based on a weathervane that was 18 feet high and used to be on the top of the old Madison Square Garden building in New York City. . This one is a cast from a smaller sized version -- the first edition sits now in the new Madison Square Garden lobby. It's only 8 feet high, but quite beautiful. There are quiet areas and benches throughout as well as shaded areas, so even on a warm sunny day you'll be fine taking your time perusing. Enjoy!

Yelp
*** Sculpture Garden Only Review *** The garden is absolutely beautiful!!! You can tell the grounds are maintained and well taken care of. There is very little shade so be forewarned you are probably going to get your daily dose of Vitamin D while walking around. The sculpture are ideally situated throughout the grounds so that you are not walking over other patrons as you take your time too marvel at each of the sculptures before you. Make sure you take the time to read the plaques that accompany each piece because they give insight to the artist and/or the estate they are on loan from. Makes you wonder how long each piece lives here until it is either returned to its rightful owner or on goes on loan to it's next home. The museum itself is closed til December which explains this four star review, however I was not expecting to find this gem of a garden tucked into the grounds of the around the museum. Entry is free so you can take as much or as little time as you need. I visited on a holiday so I was surprised the garden was even open yet there was plenty of street parking in the 2 hour slots right outside the garden. Make sure you look in every nook and cranny and all the crevasses because I almost missed a few things thinking I had seen everything there was to see. Take in the plant life as well, its not just a garden of sculptures, there is also some ah ha worthy foliage here as well.

Yelp
I totally thought I was part of a beautiful nature friendly secret society while visiting. This beautiful garden is located near downtown Palm Beach. It consists of amazing gardens, greenery, ponds, fountains, sculptures and more. My friends and I were delighted to spend our Sunday at the Society of the Four Arts. The four arts concept came in the 1930s. The arts included Drama, Art, Music, and Literature. We took a ton of photos and enjoyed nature. There are many benches to sit and relax as well. We sat for a bit and almost did not want to get up since we felt one with the beautiful essence of this place. I recommend this place to people who enjoy arts/gardens/nature. Side Note: Admission is free. It's open daily. The parking was easy to find on the street. All in all, a hidden gem in Palm Beach.

Yelp
This is another fabulous place that I never would have found without Yelp. I caught Rabia J's review and bookmarked the garden for a future visit. On Saturday I was only 20 minutes away at the manatee festival at the FPL Eco Discovery Center and when we finished we decided to head over and have an adventure. Although I have visited Whitehall, the Flagler museum I had no idea that this garden was so close. What an amazing find this place is. We were able to park on the street and enter through the garden gate into a wonderland. Each corner we peered around contained another treasure, a fountain, a koi pond, fruit trees, orchids, a rose garden, or a sculpture. There is plenty of seating through out the garden to sit in contemplation of the beauty around you. My daughter thought the garden looked just like the ones she had seen in France and even compared it favorably to the one at Versailles. At one point we saw a heron catch his frog lunch and devour it at the fountain. If you are looking for a place that will transport you to a place of peace and tranquility for a few hours at least than this is the garden to visit.

Yelp
Such a beautiful sculpture garden. You can really get lost in the art and nature. We did a brief walk through as it was mid-day in August and hot, but I could imagine spending a few hours here just communing with art and nature during a cooler time of year. This is a true gen in Palm Beach. And it's totally free!
google avatar

Yelp
The sculpture garden was awesome and the grounds are very well maintained. Stayed about 2 hours or so but walked the grounds several times. It was a gorgeous sunny day filled with a cool breeze. The Japanese garden was by far my favorite part, it's very small but excellent.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
It's a beautiful sculpture garden, a terrific library, and a marvelous recital space. An oasis of tranquility, culture, and learning. Membership to the King Library is just $25 a year, $20 for residents. I can remember coming here as a child and spending many hours lost in books. Then later as a high school student, their art collection was superior to anything else I could find, and it enabled me to complete my research paper. The recital hall hosts an amazing chamber music series, with great acoustics. It's amusing to read that "gentleman are asked to wear a jacket and tie." Although humorous to read about a dress code for a concert series, why not, when it's this elegant of a space?

Yelp
Lived in Palm Beach County my whole life and finally made it to the garden at The Society of the Four Arts this weekend! It's beautiful, FREE, but pretty small in comparison to some of the other (pay for admission) botanical gardens nearby. We took our time strolling through and taking photos of some of the intricate sculptures. Make an afternoon of it and visit Celi's Produce for a smoothie or Coyo Taco for a quick bite.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was awesome! I went to a concert there and was simply amazed as to how beautiful the whole place was ! From the magnificent archway to the exhibit inside (paper dresses) I was simply floored how flawless the place was! I also loved the items in the small gift shop; so grorgeous. Great taste. And the concert hall was divine as well! I will be back!
google avatar

Cowcow Z.

Yelp
The building itself was quite small, not a lot to explore, but the exhibition itself was quite impressive. $5 admission to the art exhibition (they give you a cute little sticker). There is an audio guided tour if you go onto the website provided, and it'll guide you through what you're seeing. Everything is made from paper, which was the most extraordinary part. You'll see items ranging from dresses to shoes, completely made from paper. The detail induced into each piece is amazing. It's a strict "do not touch" policy, but the exhibit was very thoughtful and included a table of various papers (that was used for the various artworks), that you can touch, just to feed the curiosity. Side note: my favorite part was actually the restroom. The decor was gorgeous
google avatar

Christine D.

Yelp
While I'm partial to this place because it's where I got engaged, it truly is a beautiful place for anyone to visit. It's free! There's small museum on the opposite side of the park that does have a small fee. There's small benches throughout to enjoy the scenery. Make sure to take a camera because every corner is perfect to photograph!

Yelp
Literally, a hidden gem, as I have driven by with my friend a few times, when making our foray to Whitehall (known as the Flagler Museum), or other beautiful sites in Palm Beach, such as The Breakers. Unless you lived in the area or had been told about this beautiful place, you more than likely would not know of its existence. Luckily, I do have friends who enjoy cultural endeavors, and they made me aware of this place. Knowing that I love botany and taking pictures, they knew I would love it -- and they were right! The security guard almost had to kick me out and pull me away as closing time approached, and I kept shooting away. The Society of the Four Arts was founded in 1936. The campus is home to beautiful sculpture and botanical gardens, a library and children's library, and a state-of-the art educational facility. For more than 70 years, The Society of the Four Arts has been the cultural destination of Palm Beach, providing concerts, lectures, films, art exhibitions and more to the community. In case you're wondering what the "four arts" are, they are drama, art, music, and literature. In addition to libraries and a gallery, as well as a venue for plays, there are also some beautiful nonprofit gardens, as I mentioned. They were established in 1938 and display plants that are suitable for South Florida, and drought and heat tolerant plants. Seven society ladies and one gentleman planned the original gardens in the 1930s, to incorporate a series of garden rooms with different themes. The Chinese garden includes a moongate and statuary. There is a lotus pond, as well as other Asian decor motifs. It then winds to the rock area of the Spanish Garden that has a decorative well in front of a wooden door, and large trees. There is also a tropical garden, and a sculpture garden, known as the Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden. A beautiful gazebo can be found here, which is also used as a venue for smaller, intimate performances. Two beautiful fountains accent the north and south ends of the garden. Benches and chairs provide the ideal spot for enjoying conversation or a good book. The gardens are full of beautiful plants, statues, sculptures, and makes for a pleasant, romantic stroll. Great for a daytime date! Even if you're not into photography, you probably will have a hard time walking away without pulling out your cellphone to take pictures. The Gioconda and Joseph King Library is another stunning building, with its murals. It also boasts a collection of more than 70,000 publications, periodicals, DVDs and other media. Unfortunately, they close at 1 p.m. on Saturdays, so I was unable to check out the place, and I was unable to check out the children's library, for the same reason. The Esther B. O'Keeffe Gallery Building houses an art gallery, a 700-seat auditorium, and the Four Arts Box Office, but the gallery was closed until December. I very much enjoyed strolling through the gardens, even if I did not get to enjoy the full amenities of all the buildings on the campus. I see most of the cultural events take place during the week, but some do take place on weekends. Perhaps I will come back for one of the weekend events, and get the opportunity to see the art exhibits, and visit the library. I would definitely come back sooner if it weren't for the fact that I am over 70 miles away!

Yelp
The Four Arts Gardens are stunning. & I cannot believe there is Free entry. In my area we have to pay admission for everything everywhere. As a Master Gardener, I've toured many gardens in many places ~ & this one is truly unique & memorable. Seven society ladies & one gentleman designed the original gardens in the 1930s. The exquisite & tranquil Garden Rooms include a Tropical Garden displaying plants suitable for the sub-tropical South Florida climate / Chinese Garden / Spanish Garden / Rose Garden / Moonlight Garden / Jungle Garden / Meditation Garden / Palm Grove / & many areas of open space. You will view a great variety of specimens, including a rare towering Kigelia africana (Sausage Tree) with fruit. Large old trees provide shade & filtered sunlight, while Fountains / a Lotus Pond / a Grotto / are strategically placed. There are plenty of benches & seating areas. The Sculptures are magnificent. My favorite is the bronze statues of Winston Churchill & Franklin Roosevelt sitting on a bench relaxed / talking / smiling / In 2004, hurricanes Frances and Jeanne devastated the Four Arts Gardens. A major reconstruction project not only restored the gardens according to the master plan, but also added new hidden irrigation, re-circulating pumps for fountains, a new electrical system, more comfortable seating, and improved walkways to ensure accessibility for the handicapped and safety for all visitors. Free parking on the street & in an area next to the museums. I recommend visiting on weekdays. Hours are Daily 10a-5p.

Amanda D.

Yelp
The gardens at the four arts is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely recommend a stroll through the gardens. It is free entry. I wouldn't recommend going after 4:40 as the guards did start closing and telling people to leave.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous! Serene and full of life. If you are in Palm Beach do stop by this magnificent display of what Palm Beach Florida feels like! Each step you take is just blooming with native plants and flowers. Approximately 45 minutes to walk the whole garden, but of course could take longer if you stroll and take it all in which I do often since I'm local. I especially enjoyed the iron gates throughout and walking through the doorway to the statue area!

Yelp
This is an update.Yesterday,I returned to the Society of 4 Arts to enjoy the current,"American Impressionism 1870-1940"exhibit which ends on April 16th,2022.Even though, not all the oil paintings in this exhibit were Impressionistic,I was impressed with the quality of the works on display and the fine curatorial work.My American favorites that day included;Chauncey Ryder's"In The Mountains",Louis Sharp's"Pasadena Light"(California Impressionism),Ernest Lawson's"Connecticut Trout Stream",George Inness'"Meadowland In June"(fine Tonalistic Painting),Robert Spencer's"Afternoon Bathers",Colin Campbell Cooper's"West Front of Capitol Steps,Washington D.C.",Guy Wiggins'"Trinity Church,Wall Street",Louis Ritman's"Woman Sewing In Garden"(quintessential American Impressionism),Jonas Lie's"In Northern Seas",James Jeffrey Grant's"Michigan Avenue Bridge,Chicago 1925",Gertrude Fiske's"Coop's Hill",Gifford Beal's"Garden Beach"(delightful resplendent colors),Oscar Berninghaus'"Church at Rancho de Taos",and Birger Sandzen's"Farm in the Smoky"(delightful reflections, very Expressionistic). I also two fine paintings which were not part of this exhibit by Maximillian Luce(French)and Benjamin West.Hopefully this pandemic will end and I won't need to wear a mask, when I visit again.Parking is free and plentiful.Admission to this exhibit is ten dollars.

A hidden gem. Noted the visiting art show in Local newspaper and thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely setting and lovely gardens.

Yelp
Stunning gardens... Found this place a few years back and make it there at least twice a month. The place is well maintained and has a variety of sculptures and trees. I just love the waterlilly pond and the fruit trees. Excellent place to take out of town guests or if you just want to enjoy quiet time with your loved one for a romantic walk.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance, inexpensive admission, wonderful exhibits, and helpful guidance through your own smart phone. After walking through the exhibit inside, enjoy the sculpture garden across the street. Parking is easy.
google avatar

Molly C.

Yelp
Unfortunately, event management has escaped this organization. Holding two events -an art exhibit and a quartet in the adjacent room proved to be too much for the Society. The valets were overwhelmed and there was evidently no plan to accommodate the throngs of people for parking on their own or with valet. The volunteer registrars weree also inundated. It was a few weeks ago during the Winston Churchill art exhibit and when a lovely quartet played. Lessons learned, but it was a painful first experience there.

Yelp
We went to story time today, which was great. Then we walked across the street to the garden. It was so beautiful. We sat by the koi pond while my son ate his snack, then walked around some more. There was so much to see, that we left without seeing it all. It would be a beautiful spot for wedding photos, but you'd need to get permission first. I look forward to going back so we can explore more of the garden.

During the summer months only the Children's Library and Botanical/Sculpture garden is open. They are free and very nice to visit. Parking was very easy in this area and we loved walking around the sculpture garden with our baby. It was very relaxing and beautiful. The other galleries open back up in December. I would recommend this stop on your vacation. The children's library was nice and got us out of the heat for a little.

Yelp
Wonderful old musty smelling library...I love it. The gardens are stunning and the programs in general are great. I have been going to the Four Arts since I was a child.

Yelp
Yesterday,I was fortunate enough to enjoy the fine,"Isabelle de Borchgrave:Fashioning Art from Paper"exhibit. This exhibit runs until April 15th,2018.At the this exhibit,I saw splendid dresses based on Renaissance and Baroque Period paintings made of paper. These dresses really fooled my eye.Based on Renaissance Period paintings by Sandro Botticelli and Benozzo Gozzoli,I saw awesome paper dresses and other attire that related to the omnipotent Medicis of Florence.Italy.I also relished fine dresses made of paper based on Baroque Period paintings done by Peter Paul Rubens("Charlotte Marguerite de Montmorency,Princess of Conde",original painting from Pittsburgh's Frick Art Museum is also on display),Justus Sustermans, and Francois Boucher.I also liked Belgian artist,Borchgrave fine dresses and attire based on paintings by 20th Century Masters like;Pablo Picasso("Woman in Blue",Giorgio de Chirico("Male Guest"),and Henri Matisse, made of paper. This exhibit also displayed fine kaftans made of paper based on attire worn by prominent Persians("Kaftan Safir-Sadr Sapphire",brilliant colors).Admission was five dollars and there is a plethora of free parking beside this cultural gem.

Yelp
The children's program is SPECTACULAR. I am constantly impressed with the creativity of the staff. My grandson talks about "Four Arts" all the time. He loves it and so do I. My gratitude to those people who make it such a success and such fun and educational for the children. The King Library and gardens and just a bonus. Dr. G. Ellen Howe
