Tried a few different slices here — grape pie, chocolate cream pie, and strawberry rhubarb — and they were all excellent! The standout for me was definitely the strawberry rhubarb pie. Unfortunately, the coffee was a letdown. It was much too bitter for my taste, and I couldn’t finish it. That said, I’d definitely come back for the pies... they’re worth it!

Have been coming here for a number of years. I know pastry is a personal taste, but in my books, The Pie Pate makes the best pastry and one I hope to be able to copy some day. This plus well filled pies and tarts make these items the best I have ever had. This expertise and attention to detail can be found in their other baked goods, including the breads. We had a late lunch and got sandwiches. I had the turkey avocado, and my husband had the Italian deli on Ciabatta ( if not, it was focaccia). These did not disappoint, and both could have been shared with another - saved for lunch the next day - and were just as good. Local wine and beers/ciders are available. We have bought their frozen goods to take home and was not disappointed. Almost forgot...coffe is great as well. My only fault this las
t visit was having 3 gentlemen who came in after me were served before me... not unusual for me as I am short and often not seen behind glass and deli counters. Staff are very friendly and helpful. If you like baked goods, then this place needs to be on your list.

Location is great, with parking, right on the way to old town NOTL. The pie plate is very cute with friendly staff.
Had hot chocolate, which was FANTASTIC, and was served at a comfortable drinking temperature, cappuccino had no complaints. The cherry tart was delightful and not too sweet.
We had also purchased a slice of lemon coconut pie for another individual and they said it was delicious.
Only rating it 4/5 staff as I would prefer more seating options inside, they were very limited.

Mmmmm, chocolate pie. Sooooooo good, amazing chocolatey goodness, contained by a flaky crust that melts in your mouth. I can’t wait to sample the other baked goodies on display, I was never gonna have abs anyway :)

This place is very "artisanal" and has prices to match. I was a little unsure at first because I thought maybe the prices were a bit much, but the quality is there to justify it. It's been a couple of weeks since I ate there and I still think about the sandwich from time to time. The staff recommended it as their personal favorite and I'm sure glad they did.
Their butter tarts are excellent as well. I really love 13th St Bakery butter tarts and they still hold the number one spot for me I think, but The Pie Plate is in serious contention, and no other butter tarts I've tried in the past few years have been contenders, so they're definitely worth a try. I'm curious to see what else they have that'll blow my hair back, so I'll probably go there again soon, but because it's a little pricey it'll have to be a once in a while treat.
