The Pilot Boat Inn

I had a really nice stay at The Pilot Boat Inn in Bembridge. The room was clean and nicely decorated, with everything I needed for a comfortable night. The food was tasty, and the menu had a good range of options. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. All in all, it was a relaxed and enjoyable visit, and I’d be happy to return in the future

Haven't been in for a while, but thought we would give it a try for Sunday lunch and so glad we did. We had two dogs with us and thought had been given to allowing us extra space. The meal , beef roast, was amazing very well cooked and presented, coupled with a local beer was the perfect way to end a beach walk. The atmosphere was professional but very relaxed and friendly, with attentive service. Would highly recommend and hope to go back soon.

Highly recommended for the friendly service, clean and cosy atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. For our misfortune we only could eat french fries on that day (14/03/2025).Even that also was well seasoned & good portion wise. Toilets are very clean and well maintained too. Only came in for the resturant with the family at about 8 today. The food was okay but nothing special. The service was awful with our server looking very fed up the entire time. Would have been nice to see a smile for a better atmosphere. The table was so horribly sticky I couldn't lift my plate to pass it to the lady clearing the table after the meal. However if you do visit this establishment I would reccomend the calamari. Do not bother with the fish, my grandmother looked forward to fish and chips only for it to arrive with fries instead. Very dissapointing. I dont think we will be back again.

Went here for drinks a few times during a short stay in Bembridge. Nice spot, got lucky to be able to sit outside in the sun with a cheap drink. Service was quick. There is a pool table and dart board inside for those who want entertainment. Close to beach.

The Pilot Boat in is a wonderful oldy worldy pub in Bembridge the Isle Of Wight and I heartily recommend it to anyone taking a holiday in the Isle Of Wight, it's well worth visiting even if you're not staying nearby, jump in a cab and enjoy a great night out. The pub is the only pub in the harbour and has a large carpark so access is very easy. Using a wheelchair is not a problem as the doors are large and the interior is spacious, however upon my last visit there were no disabled toilets but the normal toilets were adequate and they allow a carer to go in with you. The pub itself is decorated inside with a wonderful warm almost mexciana feel, there are warm burnt oranges next to cool blues and the welcome you receive is very warm and friendly even from the locals and other drinkers visiting. It is a family friendly pub with children allowed in right up until closing time, however don't let this put you off it's not a rowdy noisy place with kids running about it's just a good old family atmosphere. There is a small outdoor area with a few tables which has some old ships memorablilia and is wonderful on a summers evening. There is a darts board and the whole pub is full of wonderful old heavy wood tables like you'd of found in a good old English pub of the last centuries. The bar is extensive with something to make every drinker happy and there is a good food menu which will surely fill you up and all reasonably priced. Go there you won't regret it.

A real locals' pub but always friendly, the Pilot Boat is as nice for a quiet afternoon drink with the paper as it is for a long evening with friends. I don't know if they serve food anymore but when I last ate there it was excellent. Definitely one of the nicest places to drink in Bembridge and far less likely than most to be empty come winter.

Ok place for a drink but it gets taken over by the up themselves sailing bunch in the summer which changes things for the worst. Can also be full of those I'm better than you sorts at other times too.great shame as nobody wants to be seated next to the loud, in your face toffs dicussing the size of their boats on a night out do they!
