The Place Resort

Restaurant review only. I visited this beach ⛱️ front establishment for the first time since it was established after I left Freetown. The pizzas 🍕 we ordered were delicious. The beverages were good as well. My rating for service provided would have been higher if my receipt did not have an additional charge for Surf and Turf Rice that was never ordered by my party. Also, my mule was not on the receipt. I guess the cost of the mule offsets the additional charge for the rice. #attention to detail, servers.

I visited this resort in January with my family (we paid for day pass entry, we didn't stay there). It's a beautiful location, right on the beach, stunning views as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious!

Very Disappointing Experience – Especially the Reception Staff I stayed at this beach resort for two nights, and the worst part of my experience was the reception staff. From the moment I arrived, the receptionists were rude, unprofessional, and completely unhelpful. Their attitude made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable from the very beginning. Check-in was extremely slow, and instead of being polite or apologetic, the staff behaved arrogantly and dismissively. The same problem happened during check-out, which was also unnecessarily slow and unpleasant. Because I had traveled from far away, I had no choice but to stay, even though I already felt uncomfortable due to the staff’s behavior. A hotel’s first impression always comes from the reception, and unfortunately, this resort failed badly in that aspect. The restaurant was also disappointing. The food portions were very small and overpriced for very basic, ordinary dishes. In addition, beggars were constantly standing around and staring at guests, which was disturbing and made the atmosphere uncomfortable. To make things worse, the swimming pool closed very early in the evening, which limited our ability to enjoy the resort. Overall, this resort seriously needs to improve the professionalism and attitude of its reception staff. I would not recommend this place unless major changes are made.

Best resort in Sierra Leone. Its about 30mins drive from Freetown. They have great food and Indian cuisine too. Very lovely staff. Their hospitality and service is impeccable. Great rooms for a weekend getaway and the beach is just the best.

The Place is a little bit of Paradise 40 minutes drive from Freetown. It is peaceful and restful. A place where you can connect back to nature and feel in tune with the waves and the sea. The 50 bungalows are well presented and nice and clean. The restaurant is a gem. Service is good and food is of reasonable quality and is affordable. Expect this place to be very busy during the Xmas and Easter period. But besides, during the rainy season you have ample space to chill. My only concern and recommendation. Get some gardening staffs onboard with weed trimmers. Keep the place looking immaculate at all times. And overgrown lawns is not appealing!!!

We stayed in four different hotels during our trip to Sierra Leone, and this was by far the best experience. What really made the difference was the service, which truly stood out in a country where hotel hospitality can sometimes feel inconsistent.||A special mention goes to Ebenezer, the reception manager. His attitude, professionalism, and willingness to help were exceptional. He went above and beyond for us, proactively solving a few room issues and consistently ensuring we were comfortable. His approach transformed the stay and is a real asset to this hotel.||The hotel enjoys a beautiful setting on Tokeh Beach — a wide stretch of sand next to a peaceful fishing village. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with working air conditioning and the basic amenities you need for a relaxing stay.||There are a few areas where the hotel could improve:| • Wi-Fi is unreliable, frequently dropping in and out.| • The restaurant menu focuses mainly on Indian and Lebanese cuisine. The food is fine, but it would be wonderful to see more African dishes offered, especially given the stunning local setting.||Overall, we had a very relaxing and positive stay. Thanks to its location and especially thanks to Ebenezer’s outstanding service, this hotel was the highlight of our trip in Sierra Leone.

Great stay here! Food was fantastic. Very hospitable. Great music & Dj and would highly recommend staying again. We came here after our marathon - lovely congratulatory rest. ||Rooms were spacious & great shower facilities.

I've attended some weekender event here with a, the rooms were spacious and clean. Good A/C and amenities. My only complaint was that my chalet was at the end and with rain my pathe entrance got flooded so needing to walk bearfoot to the event space was inconvenient to say the least.
