Overall Experience:
My family and I recently stayed at the Playford Adelaide, and while we were generally satisfied, there were some inconsistencies that, in my opinion, need addressing for a hotel of this caliber.
Positive Aspects:
1. 2. The room size was generous, which was a definite plus for our family.
Overall, from check-in to check-out, the staff were friendly and helpful.
Areas for Improvement:
1. Accor Gold Membership Recognition: As an Accor Gold member, I was a bit disappointed that there was no mention of a room upgrade during check-in. I understand that upgrades are subject to availability, but it would have been nice to have been acknowledged. Additionally, while the free gift entitlement was mentioned, it was not actually provided. This isn't a major issue, but it's a perk I've consistently received at other Accor properties.
2. Inconsistent Service: The service was not always consistent. One particular incident highlighted this: it took over an hour to have a bath mat delivered to our room. I had to call twice and eventually go down to the front desk in person to resolve the issue. This occurred around 6:45 PM. There also seemed to be some confusion among the front office team regarding this request. As a 5-star hotel, I expect a higher level of service consistency.
3. Housekeeping: The housekeeping service could be improved. On one occasion, the room was not cleaned to a satisfactory standard, as I found some hairs in the room after it had been serviced.
