I was treated as if i was home. I had alwsys loved The Plaza and its rich Kamloops history. I have attended many functions and staycations in my favorite hotel in this city full of hotels they deliver REAL and ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I really dont give ANY business my money unless you deserve it. In this time of the holiday season i expect, no demand to be treated like i matter and not spoken down to by some snotty college kid in a cheap polyester suit and aldo cick clack shoes thinking they are high end ..if you think i cant walk out and get treated like a number in a system anywhere your wrong so pour it on i am a customer service elite i trained with the crew at London Drugs sweethearts and i know when your doing it right! Congradulations Plaza , you indeed are the oldest hotel with class and stabdards you are friendly and curtious and you do all you can. If you dont know , you find out and if you ever error you correct. Thank You for never waivering through new ownership . Lovely clean suite as always with every room , clean crisp soft linens and the heritage rooms dont stink of stale smoke or booze . The furnishings are beautiful and not new but pristine. Very much a nostalgia trip back to a different time . Your staff are amazing . ..and the breakfast before a departure was a secret until recently when i was blown awsy by a Huge top notch beautiful breakfast spread better then most weddings iv attended! Free .. like a proper sit down linen napkin hot breakfast that really blew any other cont breakfast out of the water.. no brown bag to go with a nutrigrain bar!! There was real hot eggs and real bacon and real coffee and fresh toast omg cereal and milk in a plastic bowl nooooope there was hot toast n jams real juices and fresh hot coffee with real creAm .. not coffeemate packets with one being the stupiest tiny pack., real proper tea and cream and sugar!!! Thank you so much for another lovely visit .. And you really are in another legue , thank you . and to the rest of the hotels ... you need a staff meeting you know who you are aberdeen and north kamloops i expect better .. chain hotels you too , your snotty delusional staff are rude and dont know any details about anything and dont care . Knowledge and tone and when i ask if a particular room has a soaker tub , jet tub, shower or a city view... you better know or find out .. you had not trained staff or left a guide or legend to quick ref and fake it... Now maybe in this day staff will learn their job not just be a body in a chair. If you want my money , sell me on you and your establishment n treat me like a customer was always treated ! Five stars to The Plaza . I am The Blondebitch on instagram 💋

I had my doubts at first being in the heart of downtown and the building being built in 1927 but this hotel has been well kept, rooms are clean, good service, and nice atmosphere for a morning breakfast in the lounge. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend trying it. Only a short one block walk to grass for a pet. Pet friendly, my little guy was welcomed as much as I was which was a huge plus. Reasonable pet rate as well. Thanks Plaza, see you again!

We stayed here 2 years ago and loved it. I have a soft spot for historic hotels. So, of course we booked it again for a family weekend downtown for hockey and a play. Our most recent stay, things were not clean, there was no ventilation in our room, and the breakfast was subpar and not at all as advertised in the Google images. It was served in a pub, which had just hosted a Christmas party the night before, and the restrooms still hadn't been cleaned. It's sad to see such a gem not be maintained.

A charming, older hotel. Small elevator, but more than adequate for my needs, I don't travel with excessive luggage. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, juice, baked goods. Room was excellent, but not perfect. Great for a 3 star hotel. Parking right next door. It is downtown so there was a person sleeping on the street, but no reason for concern. Plenty of dining/drinking options within a short walk. Under Belly was a great choice for dinner around the corner.

The room: water noise none stop which disturbed my sleeping. The room itself is outdated but reasonably clean. Service: they seemed to be understaffed. However, the staff seems nice. Location: well downtown. Seems okay. The elevator did not work so it was quite the inconvenience having to haul all the luggage up 4 story.

For a historic landmark it’s super sad to see the state of the rooms. Feels like a fancier hostel with super old carpets, one elevator, run-down bathrooms. Just a heads up: the parking is uncovered outside, and often a couple of blocks away so call ahead to confirm your spot. Rating it 2 ⭐️ only because there’s is a pub attached to the hotel and the breakfast is included. But honesty the free breakfast should not be a motivator to stay here. We checked in late Sept, the outside temp is around 8-10°C. Our room was at 15°. Yes that’s 60F° and would not get warmer. Luckily we had a two queen so doubled up on the blankets from the spare bed. The next morning when asked about the broken heat I was told they turn on the heat on Oct 1. Why I was NOT offered a heater on check-in is beyond me. The bath is oh wow yikes. See pictures …. Anyways to sum it up, this “hotel” is for somebody who is absolutely not at the least picky whatsoever and is looking for a place to crash for the night. Would love to see this renovated and brought back to its original glory. The good: - central location - pub on the main level The bad: - uncovered unsecured parking, next to a liquor store - dirty old carpets - one slow, tight elevator from 1929 - breakfast although free it was blend but was a hot breakfast nonetheless - mouldy bathrooms, didn’t feel clean - location feels a bit sketchy

This place is absolutely FILTHY! Looks like the carpets haven’t been vacuumed in months! Something had been spilled down the wall next to the bed….I shudder to think what! The baseboards are so dirty and the paint is peeling off the walls. The decorative throw that is draped across the end of the bed had dark stains all over it. So gross. Never again. Don’t know what the “million dollar renovation” was 🤷🏻‍♀️ cuz this place is a dump at the moment.

We stayed in a "family suite" for one night in Oct. We have stayed also a few times in the past. The price of $120 plus taxes was definitely value for money. But ... the hotel and its rooms are starting to look and feel worn out (except the beds). The bathroom was very tiny; the toilet ran if you didn't jiggle the flush handle; the toilet paper was too thin; the bathroom door stops had come loose from the floor; and, the cast iron tub finish had a big epoxy repair. The hotel, the room and it's fittings just seemed "tired". And... the single tiny old elevator (3 people plus bags) has sadly lost its charm. :-(. That, coupled with the small, packed parking area lead us to say we probably won't return.
